Volume 5:
Chapter 16: Jedi Training
We see Rey in one of the training rooms.
She held a calm look as she stood in the center of it.
She was surrounded by several training droids.
Her master stood atop a platform above her.
"Rey…. Your challenge is to deflect all the shots these droids fire upon you", Luke said.
Rey nodded and said, "understood, master."
The droids then began to fire at Rey.
Rey activated Bastilla Shan's lightsaber and deflected the bolts with both blades.
Rey then felt a few droids shoot her shoulder.
She yelled in pain, since; while the bolts were non-lethal, they still hurt.
"Focus Rey", Luke said.
Rey closed her eyes and took a breath.
She used the force to stay alert on which droid would fire upon her.
It was as if the bolts had slowed down.
Now she was able to block every single shot that fired upon her.
Luke gave a small smile.
The training droids were then turned off.
Luke said, "good work, my young apprentice."
"Thank you Master Skywalker", Rey said.
Luke gave another small smile.
"Your training is going very well, Rey", Luke said.
Rey said, "well, I've had some good teachers."
Luke smiled. He was happy to hear that.
Rey asked, "and how do you feel Master?"
Luke said, "better, since returning to the order."
"Well I'm glad…. Ani kept telling me how much he and the others missed you", Rey said.
Luke gave a slightly somber nod.
….
We then see Finn and Ani in another training room.
Sam and Raine stood on a nearby platform.
There were clones surrounding the two.
These were clones who had gone through treatment to cure their accelerated growth.
"Now you two, your task will be to defend yourselves against these clones' stun blasts", Raine said.
Sam said, "this is to prepare you against threats like the First Order and what Belos made the clones do."
"Okay", Finn said.
Ani and Finn activated their blades.
The clones all aimed their blasters at the two.
Sam said, "begin!"
The clones began to fire stun blasts at Ani and Finn.
The two deflected them with their lightsabers.
Ani jumped over a few of the stun blasts.
Finn ducked down to avoid them.
Finn then get hit by one of the stun blasts.
He falls to his knees, clutching his arm.
"Focus Finn. Try again", Sam said.
Finn slowly rose back to his feet.
Ani was then shot in the back and he fell to the ground.
Raine said, "focus, Ani. Try again."
Ani then got back up.
He and Finn stood back to back.
The clones began to fire stun blasts at the two.
They had a better time deflecting the blasts.
There a few times the two got hit by the stun blasts..
But they kept going. And they kept improving. Slowly but surely.
"And that's enough", Sam said.
The clones stopped shooting.
"You two did very well", Raine said.
Ani said, "thanks master."
"If you two keep training, your skills will greatly improve", Sam said.
Finn and Ani smiled.
"Now get some rest", Raine said.
Ani and Finn nodded and walked off.
Raine turned to look at their former master.
They asked, "am I training him well?"
"Yes you are Raine, you are a great Jedi Master", Sam said as he smiled.
Raine smiled and said, "thanks, Master."
"Call me Sam, there is no need to call me Master", Sam said.
Raine said, "okay…. Sam…."
Sam smiled softly.
He patted Raine on the back.
Raine smiled softly.
….
We then see Rey in the Jedi Library.
She was reading about the Old Republic.
She was getting very interested in this topic as of late.
She wanted to learn more about the heroes of the old republic. Especially Revan and Bastilla.
Rey was on a page that talked about how Bastilla met Revan.
At the time, Revan was still the leader of the Sith Empire. Bastilla and a handful of Jedi had fought him. During the fight, Revan had gotten amnesia, which kick-started his journey to stop his former apprentice and save the galaxy. During the mission, Bastilla and Revan had fallen in love, and when Bastilla had nearly been pulled to the dark side, Revan, regaining his memories, saved her.
Rey found that story to be so sweet and it reminded her of the story when Sam and Luke saved their father.
History seemed to repeat itself in strange ways.
But for some reason Rey felt like she had a connection to Revan and Bastilla.
It was strange….
Rey then turned the page and she saw Revan with a few droids with him.
The first was an old HK-47 Unit.
The second was a T3 Astromech droid.
And the third droid…. Was a little odd looking.
They were…. A white, spherical robot with a black stripe that runs down the entire circumference of its body. On the front, the black stripe has two white dots
Rey had never seen a droid like that before.
She would need to investigate further.
But for now, she was done reading.
Rey then begins to head out of the library.
She and her boyfriend were going to spend some time together.
They were heading to an old diner that Obi Wan Kenobi use to frequent.
Dexter's Diner.
….
We then see the couple at the diner.
They both had big smiles on their faces.
They were so happy to be spending time together.
Rey was so happy to have someone in her life.
She didn't feel so lonely anymore.
She didn't even think of Jakku anymore.
Ani right now was telling her a story of what happened when one of his magic spells went wrong.
Rey asked with a giggle, "so wait, you didn't listen well to your papa and actually performed the spell wrong?"
Ani nodded in slight embarrassment.
"Yep, the spell had backfired more than two times", Ani said.
Rey asked, "what happened?"
"First…. There was a small explosion…. Then when I tried the spell for a second time…. I accidentally turned my fathers into babies", Ani said.
Rey couldn't stop giggling.
"You have no idea what a nightmare it was for me and my siblings to watch after them, while I tried to find a way to return them to normal", Ani said.
Rey giggled, "I can't imagine."
"Thankfully, my grandpa and Grandma's spirits offered to watch the babies, while I tried to find a way to return my fathers to normal", Ani said.
Rey said, "that's good to know."
A waiter then brought the couple's food.
Ani had steak and fries.
Rey had Tip yip and salad.
They both ate their meals with smiles.
….
Later….
We see Sam, Alastor and Prime cleaning out their children's rooms.
They were a bit messy.
As they were cleaning, Sam came across a box.
He asked, "what's this?"
Sam pulled out the box and he saw it contained all the stuff his children used when they were babies.
This gave him a warm smile.
"I should probably store them somewhere, so these items are never lost or destroyed", Sam whispered.
Sam closed the box and looked for a safe place.
He then saw a room that was used for storing items.
Sam said, "perfect."
Sam then went in there and placed the box on a shelf.
Sam then went back to helping his husbands.
Soon the three finished cleaning the rooms.
They all flopped down on the couch.
"Man, that was a lot of work", Alastor said.
Prime and Sam nodded in agreement.
"Next time, the kids are cleaning their rooms", Prime said.
Sam said, "definitely."
Then Angela was heard crying in her room.
The three of them quickly ran to her room.
Angela was in her bed, crying and wailing.
Her dad's ran over to her.
Prime asked, "Sweetie, what's the matter?"
Angela hugged her father close.
"Bad dream", Angela cried.
Prime held her close and said, "it's okay. It's not real. It's just a dream."
Alastor and Sam pat Angela's head.
Angela sniffled.
"Daddies", Angela sniffled.
Sam said, "it's okay, honey."
Prime picked up Angela.
"You can spend the rest of the day with us sweetie", Prime said.
Angela said, "thank you, daddy."
Prime smiled and kissed his daughter's forehead.
Angela finally smiled at that.
"Dads' we're home", Ani shouted.
Angela smiled wider as Prime picked her up and they all went to greet Ani and Rey.
"Welcome home sweety", Sam said to Ani.
Sam said, "hey dad."
Ani said, "hey dad."
"Hi Rey", Alastor said.
Rey said, "hello."
Angela reached her arms towards Ani.
Ani smiled as he picked up his sister.
Angela hugged Ani around the neck.
This made Ani smile as he hugged her close.
"Angela had a nightmare and now you managed to cheer her up Ani", Prime said.
Ani smiled at Angela.
Angela giggled in joy.
Alastor asked, "so, how was your date, you two?"
"Perfect and fun", Rey said.
Prime said, "oh, I'll bet."
Ani and Rey blushed.
This made Angela giggle.
Lola beeped as she flew into the room.
Ani said, "hey, Lola."
Lola nuzzled against Ani.
Ani chuckled.
Rey asked, "where's Padme?"
"She's with Poe", Sam said.
Ani asked, "where's Collin?"
Prime said, "he's with Rose."
Angela giggled.
Alastor chuckled and pat her head.
Angela giggled even more.
She was much happier now.
Ani said, "maybe we can all go out for Ice cream?"
Angela said, "yay!"
Rey said, "that sounds nice."
"Lets go then", Prime said.
The family then went out for ice cream….
….
We see the family hanging out at the ice cream shop.
They each got a different flavor.
Angela got strawberry.
Sam got chocolate and peanut butter.
Alastor got strawberry fudge swirl.
Prime got mint chocolate chip.
Ani got vanilla and chocolate.
Rey got cotton candy.
Angela's face got messy from eating the ice cream.
Prime had to wipe it all up.
Angela giggled as her father cleaned her face. She was in a much better mood now.
"My little imp", Prime said.
Angela smiled brightly.
As Rey was licking her ice cream…. She held her head as she saw something…. A vision!
Rey saw a figure…. The one in the dark robes and mask.
He was holding a baby in his arms.
It was a baby Sam!
Sam cooed as the masked figure touched his face.
They said, "Sam…. My dear little one…. I have someone who wants to meet you…."
Sam titled his head in confusion.
That's when another figure popped up.
Rey gasped as she saw who the figure was.
It was Revan's wife, Bastilla Shan!
Rey whispered, "so that masked figure is Revan?"
Sam cooed in awe at Bastilla.
Bastilla smiled at Sam.
"Revan, you were right…. He is adorable", Bastilla said.
Sam let out an adorable giggle.
Revan pats Sam's head.
This made Sam giggled again.
Revan then passed Sam to his wife.
Bastilla smiled warmly at Sam.
Sam smiled a toothless smile.
He was such a happy baby.
Bastilla touched Sam's forehead.
Sam smiled at her.
"Sam is destined for something great", Bastilla said.
Revan said, "I'm sure of it."
Sam cooed in awe as he reached his arms towards Revan.
Revan picks up Sam and holds him close.
"Protect him Revan", Bastilla said.
Revan said, "I will. With all my heart."
Sam kept cooing as he stared up at Revan.
It was utterly adorable.
"Rey? Rey!"
Rey was brought out of her vision.
Ani asked, "Rey? What happened?"
Rey said, "I dunno…."
"It seems you must have had a vision", Sam said.
Rey said, "I think so…."
Ani asked, "what did you see?"
Rey said, "I saw Sam as a baby."
Alastor asked, "woah, really?"
Rey nodded.
"And I saw…. The force ghosts of Revan and Bastilla Shan", Rey said.
That shocked the entire group.
"They were both holding Sam", Rey said
Sam said, "I think I remember this …."
Ani asked, "woah, dad, even as a baby, you can remember something like that?"
Sam said, "I've got a great memory."
Rey asked, "but why did I have this vision? What could it mean?"
Sam said, "the force works in mysterious ways. There could be a multitude of reasons."
Rey smiles a little at that.
Ani said, "I'm sure we'll learn more soon."
"Thanks, Ani", Rey said.
Ani smiled and said, "any time."
Rey then kissed her boyfriend's cheek.
Ani blushed with wide eyes.
Sam and the others chuckled at the sight.
It was quite humorous.
And quite adorable.
Rey chuckled at the look on Ani's face.
Angela giggled at her big brother's face.
Ani finally broke out of his shock.
And he was blushing. Even more so than before.
Rey hugged her boyfriend.
Ani gave a small smile.
….
Meanwhile in a dark corner of the galaxy….
Kylo Ren was sitting in his room, staring upon the gnarled mask of Darth Vader.
Now everytime he looked at the mask…. It was a different feeling.
He no longer heard the whispers of the Sith Lord who once wore the mask.
All he heard now were the words…. Anakin had said to him.
They echoed in his mind.
Especially these words.
"DON'T you call me grandfather!"
It made him question just what he was hearing all this time.
Kylo Ren would soon find out….
