Hello everyone, I apologize for the wait BUT we are back and I've felt there hasn't been much intimate moments with the main gang so this is gonna be a little of it before we get to the climax of the story.
Alright, let's get into it..
"Alright here's the last of the pillows man..", James groaned, throwing two full size pillows at Jett who was laying out on the bed in exhaustion.
"Thank you. Goodnight..", Jett grumbled, placing both pillows around him, falling asleep almost immediately.
James rolled his eyes with a chuckle. "Goodnight Jett.", James said, closing the door behind him, he shook his head, walking over towards his bedroom where Carlos laid in bed, typing away at his phone.
"How did we end up getting stuck with Jett sleeping here?", James asked, closing the door behind him.
Carlos shrugged. "Logan can't stand him and Leah and Willow only have 2 extra beds. It was a lose-lose situation at this point.", Carlos muttered, still keeping his focus on his device. It made James curious, he then walking closer and sitting on his side of the bed. "What are you looking up?", James asked.
"I was wondering if there was anything about the killings where Logan lived by his dad but there's nothing. Not even a local newspaper on any of the towns they attacked. You think they have control over the people that lived there?", Carlos asked.
"They could've threatened them, or even worked along side him, he's pretty persuasive..", James said.
Carlos stared deeply at his phone. There was something telling James that maybe this wasn't something Carlos could handle it. In the worst case that someone does get killed, especially if it was Logan, he wouldn't know how Carlos would handle it. James couldn't possibly think of a world without Logan. James couldn't live in a world without him or Carlos.
What if something's happened to Carlos?
James looked at his husband who sighed, closing his phone and putting it on the charger.
"Look babe, if you're rethinking coming with us tomorrow then you just have to say the word-"
"No James, I'm going tomorrow and you won't stop me..", Carlos argued.
"I'm just saying that it can get really dangerous, I could lose you. I don't know how I could live in a world without you in it..", James stated.
Carlos stared deeply into his eyes. "I know babe, I feel the same way for you. But this isn't just a fight over drugs we're talking about, this is Logan's life."
James stared back into his husband's eyes. There was this presence of assurance and the glimmer of determination. He had never seen his husband be this serious.
"If he's asking for help then I'm going to do it no matter what it cost me. I'm also here for you, if we live together, we die together and I'd rather die by your side than to not have you in my life..", Carlos finished, James gave a stunned gaze, the amount of love he had for Carlos was way beyond his own. Since the moment he met him, he knew that he had found the one he would be with for the rest of his life.
Nine years ago...
The sound of blaring music queued through the speakers. Sweaty bodies danced among the crowd and the smell of alcohol filled the air.
James walked in with a grin, every step he gained confidence walking around the group of people, Kendall walking behind him. And while Kendall never really enjoyed the clubbing scene, James thrived off of it. James already bobbing his head to the beat of the music.
"This place is great!", James shouted.
"So we're staying here right!?", Kendall asked.
"Yeah! Definitely!", James shouted.
"You said that last time and then dragged us out!", Kendall shouted back. James slightly ignoring him walked into the crowd of people. Some already drunk and stumbling in his way, others grabbing a glance before continuing on. James looked around, there was something he was looking for. For every club he would go to, he wanted to find a reason to stay. Suddenly his eyes locked as the crowd in front of him pulled apart. Dancing smoothly was a cute Latino, the sweetest smile on his face his eyes closed as he took the music in. James was entranced, watching his body move in ways he wanted to explore. His skin covered in slight sweat, James bit his lip for a moment, wondering if he had a chance. Soon the mysterious stranger faced towards James, their eyes locked. Soon the room ceased around James, his view now stuck on him, soon the Latino smirked looking up and down at James before the crowd made him disappear again.
"Yeah-- we're not leaving..", James said in a haze.
"You found someone you like?..", Kendall smirked.
"I'll be sure to get his number by the end of the night..", James said, rubbing his hands together.
"Good luck with that-- I'm gonna get a drink..", Kendall said, walking away from James towards the bar.
James waved him off without giving a look, his goal was to find this beautiful stranger and have him for the night. James stumbled through the crowd in the direction of where he saw him last. Reaching the spot, he couldn't find him. He disappeared, James was left a little puzzled. "Where did he go?", James mumbled to himself. He began to grow nervous. What if he lost his chance? What if the stranger had left and he would never find him again?
James spent the next 5 minutes looking for him, but with no luck he stopped. Walking over to the bar, he sighed in defeat. James looked around for Kendall but like his stranger was no where to be seen.
"Could I get a whiskey sour please?", James asked the bartender.
"Make that two.."
James turned to his left, his eyes widening as he found the guy he's been looking for was sitting next to him. He looked up at James, a sweet smile on his face.
"You know, I've been looking for you all night. I didn't think it be so hard to find someone as beautiful as yourself..", James flirted.
The stranger shrugged. "Who said I wasn't just trying to make you work for me?", he smirked.
The drinks were placed in front of us. Picking up the glass, James turned towards him.
"I'm James by the way..", James smiled.
"Carlos..", he said, raising his glass towards James, James tapping his on Carlos'.
"You come here alone?", Carlos asked, taking a sip.
James shook his head. "No, I came with my best friend, but he ran off somewhere. But I don't mind some alone time..", James said.
"You like being alone?", Carlos asked.
"Well as long as I'm standing next to you, I think I'll be good without it..", James smirked.
"Smooth and sexy. You don't find that now a days..", Carlos flirted, taking one last gulp of his drink.
"How about you? Here with anyone tonight?", James asked cautiously.
Carlos looked at him. "Nope, but I could be..", Carlos smirked.
James gave a curious face. He has never met someone so forward and confident around him. All throughout his adult life, he was always the one to make people swoon with his confidence, but now, it was different.
"Wanna dance?", Carlos asked.
James in awe only nodded, making Carlos grab his hand and pulled him out to the dance floor.
James looked at his husband the same way he looked at him all those years ago. His life began the moment he met him and if his life was possibly going to end sooner than he thought, then it would be fighting along side with him.
"I love you so much..", James whispered.
"Te amo baby..", Carlos whispered back, kissing him softly before smiling, he turned off his nightstand light and flipped over to his right side so James can big spoon him. James wrapping his free arms around Carlos' waist and intertwining his fingers with Carlos. The sweet moment made both of them smile into their slumber. Their love was infinite and they knew that no matter where they were going, they would go together.
Willow opened the door to the last guest room in the house, Leah and Nai walking in behind them.
"This will be your room. It's collected a little dust but we can clean it real quick..", Leah said.
Nai looked around a moment with a small smile. "That's not necessary but thanks..", they said, placing their bag down next to the bed.
"It's getting late, John's already gone ahead to bed..", Willow said.
"I swear that dude never stays up past 9.", Nai chuckled, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"How did you find him anyway?", Leah asked.
"After my parents passed, I moved here and tried to make a new life for myself. It was hard to save money and I didn't know anything about city. It wasn't until I found a boxing gym where I met him. He took me in and taught me how to defend myself and how I would be able to defend others.", Nai stated. "From then on, we've always worked together, grew together. He was like the father I never lost.", Nai smirked.
"I'm really sorry about your dads Nai.", Leah apologized, sitting next to them.
Nai shrugged. "I've grown numb to the feeling at this point. I miss them all the time but I know they wouldn't want me to just sit around and sulk.", Nai answered.
Willow stared at their cousin in law, they recognized their strength and wondered how someone after watching their parents be murdered could be okay. Nai went through it all alone, Willow couldn't imagine doing it themselves. "Just remember you're not alone anymore, you have us too..", Willow said, both Nai and Leah looking towards them. "We're family..", Willow smirked. Nai smirked back, giving a nod.
Leah looked back at Nai, giving them a quick hug before walking towards the door, Willow let Leah walk first then giving one last look at Nai, closing the door behind them.
Soon getting to their bedroom door, they walked in closing the door behind them. Before Willow could walk towards the bed, Leah stepped in front of them, kissing them softly.
"What was that for?", Willow asked with a chuckle.
"For being perfect..", Leah said softly, smiling at her spouse.
"What do you mean?", Willow asked, they both now walking towards the bed.
"You being there for Nai. How could I be so lucky?", Leah said.
Willow chuckled again, watching as Leah reached for the blanket, making them instinctively grab her hand. "Uh uh, we gotta clean your wounds babe..", they reminded, making Leah groan, throwing her head back as they both walked towards the bathroom. Willow flipped the light on, immediately going for the first aid kit under the sink. Leah removed her shirt, exposing her back. Willow unwrapped the bandages slowly, little by little, exposing Leah's bruised back along with the cuts that were made by the glass table. The bruising still had a bit of a purple shade, but most began to turning a darker brown. The scars now making little scabs.
"It looks better..", Willow mentioned. Leah stayed quiet, placing her hands on the sink, her head down with her eyes closed. Willow sighed, picking up the ointment and squeezing some in their hands. As softly as they could, rubbed the ointment on her back, Willow watched as she winced a little from the touch, her hands gripping the sink. Willow stopped, kissing her shoulder softly, this helped Leah's shoulders to drop. "Babe--"
"I'm fine.", Leah said.
Willow sighed, grabbing a new bandage and unraveling it. "You're gripping sink Leah..", Willow muttered, making Leah grunt softly. Willow held out the end of the bandage out to Leah, she taking it and holding it against her right rib. Willow began to wrap. "I really don't think you should be going out there with us babe, you can barely handle the pain now.", Leah looked up towards them in the mirror, Willow still wrapping the bandage.
"And I will be fine tomorrow okay?", Leah said, finally sitting up after Willow finished the bandage.
"Leah-- please..", Willow started.
"This isn't up for discussion Willow.", Leah said, turning around towards them. Willow's face was still, not phased by Leah's new tone. " I swore ever since I got this job to protect Logan, no matter where I might end up.", Leah said, Willow head dropped a bit. Soon Willow felt their chin being lifted, looking into their wife's eyes. "Now Logan's not the only one fighting for his life back, I am too...", she spoke. Leah stared into Willow's eyes. "This isn't just his fight, it's mine and Nai's, the life that we deserved and was taken by Steven. I could be black and blue and still face him knowing that once we win, I get to go home to you..", Leah finished.
Willow stared at their wife, Leah's tears welling up but was quickly blinked away. Willow thought about the woman they met all those years ago, the girl that watched the battle from the sidelines, the girl that was scared, shivering in their arms. Now there she stood, was a few steps away from being killed and is risking her life all over again. Leah was finally growing, and it just reminded Willow that they didn't need to protect her anymore.
Willow grabbed her waist, pulling her in closely. "Are you sure you're okay to do this?", they asked.
Leah nodded. "As long as I'm with you..", she said.
The realization of how important this was for Leah finally dawned on Willow. They wanted her to be safe, but they knew that Leah was while hard headed, was incredibly resilient. This is the strongest they've ever seen their wife.
Leah leaned up to kiss Willow, it soft and sweet, she pulled away, moving away from them. "Let's get to bed..", Leah smirked, with a nod Willow walked with Leah towards the bed, quickly getting under the covers, cuddling close together.
Willow knew that her condition was still a bit severe. The if's and but's were going to keep them up at night, praying that they wouldn't lose her. Willow looked down at her, Leah's eyes closing with the need for sleep, Willow smiled softly, watching her doze off slowly.
Willow knew what they were fighting for.
They were fighting for their friends, their freedom.
They were fighting for the love of their life.
Willow wouldn't want it any other way.
Logan laid on his bed staring up at the ceiling. He looked over as Kendall continued to sleep soundly. Logan couldn't understand how he could sleep with what is to happen tomorrow.
Logan was about to fight for his life.
He was fighting for so many things, his livelihood, his husband, his friends, his family. What if they couldn't stop his father? What if someone was hurt or worse?--
Logan sat up from his spot in the bed, fear of waking Kendall up he looked over his side, his husband still sleeping. Logan got out of bed, stepping towards the door. Looking back once more, Logan walked out towards the stairs.
Reaching the last step, the light was still off and it was dark, quickly turning on the kitchen light, his eyes glanced at the stove clock reading 11:47pm. Logan sighed, grabbing a cup from the cabinet and dispensing water in it from the fridge.
He watched as his hands shook with anxiety, taking a sip.
Logan's thoughts began to run. From the moment he moved away and went to college, he felt it was a blessing to keep his past behind him, creating a new and better life for himself. The thought of it coming back to haunt him was there but after 14 year, he had been a bit more hopeful. But now his nightmares seemed to get darker and more terrifying than the night before. It was like he was back in his college days, the days when he first met Kendall.
The night was still. For the first time, Logan finally invited Kendall over to his place. They both laid in Logan's bed, wrapped comfortably around each other under the sheets. Kendall had a dreamless sleep, the stillness in his mind kept him quiet, soft snores pouring from his lips.
Logan on the other hand, was having the nightmare he prayed wouldn't come. Small fits of mumbles escaped his lips. He could hear his father's word run in his mind. Logan's whimpers became louder, tears began to build up in his closed eyes. He began to toss in his sleep, yet with the small moments, Kendall woke up with a bit of concern. The sound of Logan's voice that always sounded like angels to him was now mumbling in fear.
"Logan?", Kendall whispered.
Logan didn't wake up, only to toss around a little more under Kendall. His whimpers getting louder.
"Logan..", Kendall called out, looking down at him. Before he could wake him up, Logan's shot open with a scream. Kendall's eyes widen, watching Logan hyperventilating, sitting up on his bed. "Logan, hey..", Kendall said, Logan slowly faced towards his date, tears fell down his cheeks as he looked at Kendall. "What's wrong?", Kendall asked.
"I-I'm sorry. I must've freaked you out--", Logan started, ready to get out of bed, Kendall stopped him.
"I'm just worried about you. Did you have a nightmare?", Kendall asked. Logan slowly nodded. "You wanna talk about it?", he asked.
"Not really..", Logan muttered.
Kendall nodded slowly, leaving both of them to sit in an awkward silence.
"If--", Logan started. "If you want, y-you don't have to stay..", Logan said.
Logan still afraid to look at Kendall again, he didn't see Kendall staring at him. Kendall shook his head. "If you think a nightmare is gonna scare me off, you obviously don't know me very well.", Kendall said, Logan looked back.
"Well, we did just meet a week ago..", Logan chuckled.
"You're lucky you're cute when you're smart..", Kendall chuckled. A small smile crept on Logan's face, making Kendall scoot closer towards him, Logan doing the same as the laid together on their pillow. Looking into each other eyes they let the soft sounds of their breaths bring them back to sleep.
Logan took note of his husband that day. He didn't fear that he wouldn't talk to him just yet about his past, and somehow he appreciated it. He never wanted to speak of his past and for the first time, someone finally was patience with him.
Logan looked back at the clock on his stove it now reading only 12am. He sighed, wondering how he was going to go back to sleep.
"What are you doing up?"
Logan looked up to see Lucy standing near the stairs, her arms crossed in front of her chest.
"Uh-- I couldn't sleep..", Logan answered.
Lucy nodded slowly with a better understanding. "You have the pre game shivers too huh?", she asked.
Logan gave a pondering look. "You're nervous?", he asked.
Lucy shrugged. "I'm up aren't I? I don't go fighting like this anymore.", she said, walking up towards the island table. "It's not like it was back then, this is-- a different beast.", she explained.
"Yeah..", Logan sighed out.
Lucy took a moment to stare at Logan, a small grin on her face. "I was the same way when I went to my first shoot out.", she said, making Logan look up at her. "I was shitting my pants, I thought about if I would get shot, or if Dak or Kendall would be killed, I was afraid of the fuck up I might do would get us all killed. But then I remembered--", she said, she went to grab Logan's hand. "I wasn't alone. Everyone I worried about knew that I had their back and they the same for me. It might be for you, but this is a battle for all of us.", she said.
Logan's heart soon began to ease. He gave Lucy a smirk, grabbing her hand too. "Thank you..", he said.
She nodded. "Of course, now how about we smoke? A good blunt always puts me to sleep..", she chuckled.
"Should we be smoking right before a fight?", he asked.
She shrugged. "It's later tonight, waking up high is way better than being tired in a fight..", she explained.
Logan took a moment to think, she wasn't wrong.
"I have one ready upstairs for emergencies..", Logan smirked, making Lucy do the same.
"Let's spark it.."
Wow, I'm so sorry for the wait lol, I've been extremely busy with school and having responsibilities.
I will try my best to keep this updated until it's done!
