Chapter 4 – New Land, New Problems, New Adventures
Edric's POV
The rain had stopped some time ago, and in a rare moment I felt hungry, so I decided to walk through the forest in search of something to eat, and I found, I was dragging the body of a bear, its neck had been cut, a blow quick and painless done by my Sharp Uchigatana, reinforced to the fullest by Blade Stone, and my Thief Ring, the bear didn't even know what hit it.
When I took the bear to the front of the cave I started to prepare the meat, I used my Secret Dagger to remove the skin and then I used the Uchigatana to cut the meat into pieces, I went towards a tree near the cave and cut it in two with a blow from my Great Axe, then I cut the tree into smaller pieces, turning it into wood for the fire.
I made a stone circle in front of the cave, put the wood in the circle, then pointed my Silver Catalyst at the bonfire and cast Flame Throw, a bolt of fire came out of my catalyst and hit the bonfire, lighting it up, and I sat in front to the fire with the bear meat beside me.
I took a Rapier out of my bag, skewered one of the pieces of meat with it and put it over the fire, using the Rapier as a skewer to roast the meat, the smell was making me salivate, and I heard the noise of something big moving behind me, Apparently I wasn't the only one who liked the smell.
The black dragon didn't say a single word; it just walked towards what was left of the bear and started to eat.
"Are you going to eat it raw?" I asked the dragon.
The dragon took its mouth from the bear's guts; its snout and mouth smeared with blood, and faced me.
"We dragons don't have weak stomachs like you humans; we don't have the need to cook our food." The dragon said as he went back to eating.
"That's not what I meant. I just believe that roasted meat tastes better than raw meat." I said as I removed my Rapier from the fire, brought the piece of meat to my mouth and took a bite.
"How did you do it?" the dragon asked me.
"Well, first I killed the bear, then…"
"That's not what I meant!" The dragon interrupted me.
"So what do you mean?" I asked as I took another bite of the piece of meat.
"How are you eating this meat?" The dragon asked again.
"With my mouth obviously." I replied to the dragon.
The dragon then took a deep breath, the sound of air entering its lungs being audible. "What I mean, you annoying human. How you're eating that piece of meat without removing your helm?!"
"Like this." I said as I brought a piece of meat to my mouth and took a bite.
The scene was curious, Edric was approaching the piece of meat towards his helmet in the mouth region, then he would press the piece of meat against the helmet, when pulling the meat away from the helmet, it was noticeable the lack of a piece of meat and the mark of a bite, it was also possible to hear the sound of chewing.
"Forget it! You humans are strange, I will never understand you."
"Pardon me! But I also don't understand how anyone can eat raw meat, but if that's your preference then I suppose you won't want this delicious and succulent piece of roast beef." I said as I skewered another piece of meat on the Rapier and started to roast it.
"Hmm! As if I needed the same perks as you humans." The dragon said while biting the bear's body and dragging it away from me, it doesn't matter, I couldn't eat it all anyway, besides, I cut enough meat for myself.
TIMESKIP
"Is ready?" The dragon asked behind me.
"Not yet, it's already the fifth time you've asked me." I replied to the dragon.
"Why is it taking so long?"
"How many times do I have to tell you? Meat needs time to roast, less time and the meat will be raw, more time and the meat will be burnt. It needs to be cooked for a certain amount of time."
That was the current situation, the dragon got tired of eating raw meat and couldn't resist the smell of roasting meat, now he was pestering me for a piece.
"Fine, but if the meat doesn't taste what I expected, I'll burn you to ashes." The dragon threatened me.
"Oh my? Would you like to repeat the result of our previous fight, as I assure you I still have many poison arrows with me, a few hundred to be precise." I said as I patted my bag.
The dragon grunted in irritation, but soon fell silent again.
"Is ready?" The dragon asked after a few minutes.
What did I do to deserve this? I thought in irritation "Yes, it's ready!"
I swung my Rapier towards the dragon, the roasted meat detached itself from the Rapier and flew towards the dragon, and quickly the dragon opened its mouth and bit the meat, chewing right away.
"So what do you think?" I asked.
"Hmm! Acceptable." The dragon said reluctantly.
Hmmm! All this work to get just an acceptable, suddenly the dragon ran past me and headed towards the trees, a few minutes later he came back with a dead bear in his mouth, he put the bear at my feet.
"More!" The dragon ordered.
Acceptable my ass.
TIMESKIP
With our wounds healed and bellies full, the dragon and I stared at each other.
"What are you thinking of doing now?" The dragon asked.
"For the moment, find some town or village, some place to get information. Or would you rather finish what we started yesterday?"
"As much as I would love to continue our fight, we would end up drawing the attention of Cathedral City soldiers again, so I don't plan on fighting you. For now."
"The feeling is mutual." I said as I turned my back on the dragon and started walking in a random direction, hopefully I would get somewhere.
"You have no idea for where to go, do you?" The dragon asked with amusement in his voice.
I didn't answer the dragon, just stood there.
"HAHAHA! I imagined, but fear not human, I in all my generosity will take you to the nearest human settlement" The dragon said as it approached me.
Will he take me? So that means that… Suddenly I felt something envelop me and my feet being taken off the ground, the dragon had held me with one of its paws and took off right away, in a few seconds we were high in the sky.
"You're silent human. Fear of heights?" The dragon asked as we flew.
"N-no, I've just never flown before. Wouldn't it be easier to carry me on your back?" Suddenly the dragon swayed during its flight, I grabbed its paw to keep from being knocked down.
"As if I would allow a pathetic human to climb on my back! That would be an insult to me!" The dragon said angrily.
Apparently, there is nothing to discuss. Try to enjoy the view Edric, looking around I realized how much this place differed from Boletaria, there were no ruins and demons everywhere, there were lush forests, a bright sun in the sky and in the distance I could see the blue sea.
Ostrava, can you see what I'm seeing?
TIMESKIP
Edric's POV
"Listen here you damn dragon, you better not…"
I didn't have time to finish as the dragon decided to take a dive towards a city that was just below, while going down I could see small dots moving through the streets of the city, probably the population panicking when they saw a dragon coming towards them.
This dive was followed by a low close to the streets, I suddenly felt the grip of the dragon's paw holding me loosen.
"Don't even think about it, you bastard!" I screamed to the dragon, but he didn't hear me, when I was a few centimeters from the ground, the dragon let go of me, due to the great speed we were, I kept flying for a few seconds, but I hit the ground soon after and kept bouncing down the street until …
CRASH!
Until I went through the wall of a building, getting up out of the hole in the wall and saw the dragon turning around in the air and flying higher.
"HAHAHA! Until we meet again human!" The dragon said as he laughed and flew away.
The next time we meet I will peel off all your scales, turning around I entered the building through the hole I had made in the wall, looking around it seemed to be some kind of tavern, to my left next to the hole there was a door, further on to the right and left were circular tables with four chairs around them, in front of me was a counter.
I noticed a woman on the other side of the counter, she was looking at me with open mouth and wide eyes, in her left hand was a bottle of drink, she was pouring the drink into a wooden mug that was on the counter, sitting on a bench farther on the left facing the woman there was a man holding the mug, he was also looking at me surprised, the mug in his hands was already overflowing with drink.
As I walked towards the counter, the other customers seated at the tables didn't move from where they were, they just stared at me without blinking, a group of men at a table had stopped their card game, one of them with his hand outstretched in the air, about to place a new card on top of the pile in the center of the table, another man had stopped drinking his drink, the mug out of his mouth and the contents spilling into his lap.
When I stopped in front of the counter I sat on a wooden bench in front of it, the bench creaking with the weight of my gear, I clasped my hands on the counter with my thumbs on top of each other and stared at the woman and she looked back at me.
I managed to get a good look at her, she didn't have any distinguishing features, brown hair pulled back in a ponytail, slightly tanned skin with freckles on her cheeks, and she wore a typical commoner outfit, a white long-sleeved shirt, a brown skirt and an apron on top.
"Hello!" I said breaking the silence.
"HELLO?!" The entire tavern screamed, I cringed at the volume of the noise.
"What the hell was that?!" The woman across the counter yelled as she pointed at me.
"It was a compliment. Isn't that normal around here?" I asked.
"Isn't that what I meant? What the hell was that?! You were thrown by a dragon and through my wall!" The woman screamed.
"Why did you ask me a question if you already know the answer?" I asked confused.
I leaned to the right dodging the bottle thrown towards me, the bottle ended up hitting a man trying to leave the tavern.
"Don't give me those funny answers! And you, no going out without paying!" The woman screamed as she pointed at the man who was hit.
"I believe we started wrong, miss, my name is Edric, a knight of Boletaria. And what's your name?"
"Apparently you have good manners, my name is Missa. Now can you please explain what happened?" Missa said as she wiped up the spilled drink on the counter.
"Not much to say, I met a dragon, we had a disagreement, we understood each other right away, so the dragon decided to carry me here." I replied calmly.
"As if that were normal! The only ones in Midgard carried by Dragons are Lady One and that psychopath Zero." Missa said serving a new drink to the man next to her.
The names caught my eye "Could you talk more about these people, One and Zero I mean."
"How do you not know them?! Intoners are known throughout Midgard! Where did you say you were from?"
"Boletaria."
"Never heard of it, it must be a faraway place for the Intoners name to mean nothing to you."
"What can I say? I'm lost, I ended up in Midgard by accident and I'm looking for a way to get home, but first I need to solve some problems here."
Dealing with some demons I thought.
"Well, I'm willing to give you some information, for the right price, of course." Missa said as she rubbed her index finger and thumb together.
"Very good. How many souls do you want for the information?" I asked as I prepared to gather some souls I hadn't used.
"HAHAHA! I see you have a sense of humor, it was a good joke. But seriously, how much do you have?" Missa asked as she leaned against the counter.
A joke, of course. I'm used to using souls as currency that I forgot that people outside of Boletaria use regular money.
"Unfortunately I don't have anything at the moment."
"A pity, so I won't be able to give you the information you want." Missa said as she crossed her arms.
"Would you happen to know any way someone like me could get money around here?"
"Hmm! You could try to play some cards with those men." Missa said while pointing to a table, it was the table where the card game was taking place, looking better there were piles of coins on the table, several bronze, silver and some gold coins.
"Hmm! Thanks." I thanked Missa as she picked me up and walked towards the table.
"You're welcome." Missa said while smiling.
There were three men sitting at the table and an empty chair, as I approached, they all started to stare at me.
"What you want?" One of them asked me rudely.
"You're not here to arrest us, are you?" A second said nervously.
"How can we help sir knight?" The last one spoke while smiling.
"I would like to play."
The three men looked at each other and then at me.
"Do you have money to bet?" The first man asked.
"No, but I have this." I said as I removed my Regenerator Ring, a black ring with a large emerald.
The men looked at me in surprise.
"And I have a lot more of those." I said while showing them my ringed fingers.
"Please sit down!" The third said while smiling.
"Here are your cards!" The second said as he handed me seven cards as I sat down.
"Do you know the rules?" The first asked as I collected my cards and spread them out in my hand.
"No, I've never played cards in my life." I said as he looked at my cards.
The three men grinned from ear to ear.
"Allow me to explain the rules to you, sir knight." The third man said.
TIMESKIP
"How is this possible?!" The first man screamed.
"My wife is going to kill me!" The second man cried.
"Good game, good game!" The third man said sadly.
I picked up the mountain of coins in front of me and put them in my bag.
"How did you do it? You haven't lost a single time! You must be cheating."
"I didn't cheat, I'm just lucky." I said as I picked me up and walked back to the counter.
I sat back in front of Missa and placed two silver coins on the counter "A beer and information please."
Missa smiled at me and collected the coins "I will bring you beer right away!"
A few seconds later Missa returned with a mug of beer and put it on the counter, I took the mug and brought it closer to my helmet, then I took a sip, I realized that Missa was staring at me.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing." She answered.
"And the information you promised?"
"The information! Of course! What would you like to know?"
"Tell me about the history of Midgard, but mostly about the Intoners."
"Of course, but first of all. Hey! Play a song!" Missa shouted to a bard who was in the tavern.
The bard nodded his head and began to play his lute.
"Long ago Midgard was a land of only humans, but one night a great earthquake occurred, an earthquake so great it was called the Great Cataclysm, with that earthquake came a great city that became known as Cathedral City."
That is, the city where I fought the demons.
"And with this city came several creatures that previously only existed in stories, elves, fairies, minotaurs, centaurs, golems and dragons, but above all came magic."
Did the magic come with this city? So you mean that before the Great Cataclysm the people of Midgard didn't have magic? This is strange; magic has always existed in Boletaria and neighboring kingdoms, despite being frowned upon by the church. Latria serves as an example, the trouble really started when King Allant went to the Nexus for the soul arts.
"The world went into chaos, but luckily Midgard was one of the first places to stabilize, unfortunately that stabilization came in the form of evil lords who ruled their lands with magic and extreme cruelty."
I noticed that as the story progressed the admiration in Missa's voice grew louder.
"But one day five goddesses came from the skies, and with the power of song they defeated the lords and ended the conflicts of Midgard, finally bringing peace, these goddesses became known as the Intoners. But there was a sixth Intoner, the oldest of them all, Intoner Zero, she wishes to kill her sisters and rule Midgard alone."
In other words, six demons somehow escaped the mist, possessed six girls giving them magical powers and superhuman strength, killed the Lords with their magic and took control of Midgard, and now the people of this land see them as goddesses and saviors. Wouldn't be the first demon I'd met who manipulated his people. The Old Monk to be precise.
"Zero is a ruthless killer, killing everyone in her path, men, women, children and the elderly, all killed with extreme cruelty, as if that wasn't enough she even has a dragon by her side, recently Cathedral City was attacked by Zero, but luckily, Lady One and her sisters managed to repel it."
Unfortunately the demons are still alive, if those dragons hadn't appeared I could have killed all the demons yesterday, next time I won't fail.
"Tell me more about One and her sisters." I said to Missa while drinking again.
"You seem interested in our goddesses. Do you by any chance want to enlist in any of their forces?" Missa asked as she looked me up and down.
"You can say so." I said as I shrugged my shoulders, the only way I could join a demon's army would be to approach the demon and cut its head off when it least expected it.
"You look capable and you already have the equipment of a knight, I have no doubt that you will quickly rise through the ranks in the army. For starters, Midgard is divided into lands and Cathedral City, each Intoner rules a land. Lady One rules Cathedral City, she is the most reclusive of all the Intoners, only appearing when her people need her, she also has the dragon Gabriel by her side, her army and the most self-sufficient and disciplined in Midgard, rarely needing orders of Lady One to act."
From what I saw during the fight in Cathedral City, One must be the leader of the demons.
"Lady Two rules the Land of Sands, the most inhospitable and difficult land to live in Midgard, where the strongest monsters live. Lady Two is the kindest of all the Intoners, constantly helping her people, whether it's killing monsters to prepare food for the needy, opening orphanages for children, or protecting merchants crossing the desert. Lady Two's army finds itself unable to keep up with her leader constantly, after all due to being Intoners she manages to get to the problem and solve it before her men do."
I wonder how true this kindness is, the devil must be earning the trust of his people to be able to put some plan into practice.
"Lady Three rules the Land of Forests, the place where most of the non-human population lives. Lady Three lets the non-human population of the forest live in peace, and even protects them occasionally, but recently Lady Three has been seen less and less, most of the time she lets her army solve the problems of the Land of Forests. There are rumors that several of her men disappeared shortly after being called to Lady Three's quarters."
Poor bastards, never to be seen again, their souls must have been collected by the demon.
"Lady Four rules the Land of the Mountains, she is a charismatic leader who is always on the front lines commanding her men, she is seeking justice, saving those downtrodden and helping people in need, but sometimes she can end up being a little extreme with that justice, as she once wiped out a group of sky pirates without leaving any survivors." Missa said with a nervous smile.
I believe what you mean is that the devil commits atrocities with the justification that it is for the good of justice.
"Finally we have Lady Five, ruler of the Land of the Seas, she is one of the most beautiful Intoners, the Land of the Seas is the hub of Midgard's commerce, with Lady Five as her main customer, ships full of goods come and go from ports, Lady Five is also the focus of attention for several Midgard men and women, all of whom seek to fulfill their desires just to get a little of the pleasure Lady Five can bestow upon them. The men of Five's army are also happy to serve her after all they receive a pleasant reward for her services. If you know what I mean."
Missa said as she waggled her eyebrows up and down. Unfortunately I understood what she meant, and the thought haunts me. Having intercourse with a demon, these men must have been consumed by madness to perform such an act.
"Thanks for the information Missa, but I believe I've been here long enough. Could you recommend me some inn? I would also like to know if there is any way to make money around here other than gambling."
"There is an inn at the end of the street, they don't charge very expensive, already about the money, in the central square of the city there is an adventurers guild, so to speak, you seem able to fight, you can carry out some quests for the guild and receive a reward for it."
"Thank you Miss Missa." I said as I bowed politely to her, when I got up I saw Missa holding out her open hand to me, it left me confused, I already paid for the information and drink.
"Pay for my wall!" Missa shouted.
I looked back and saw the hole I had made in the tavern wall "That's right, I'm sorry for the damage done."
I gave Missa a gold coin and left the tavern, on the way I heard Missa speak.
"Thanks for everything and come back again!" Missa said as she waved at me from behind the counter.
TIMESKIP
As I walked through the city streets I noticed that several people looked at me with curiosity and got out of my way.
"Mom, look, he's so cool!" A boy yelled at his mother while pointing at me, the mother was pulling her son away in fright.
I believe that a fully armed knight walking the streets is anything but ordinary.
I decided to explore the city a bit before heading to the inn, the buildings were made of stone or wood, sometimes a mixture of the two, a river ran through the middle of the city with stone bridges over it, an occasional carriage passed through the streets made of tiles.
I got to the market street, wooden stalls with tarps on top were on my left and right, merchants announced their products and prices, several people were talking and haggling, there were merchants selling clothes, jewelry, food, perfumes, spices, as I walked I could hear some of the merchants.
"Come everybody! Come check out my great collection of magic items! Rings that grant you protection from disease, books containing ancient spells, potions that can heal any wound!"
With just one look I realized that all the items were fake, I didn't feel any magic coming from them.
"Behold the strongest spear and strongest shield! All my weapons are the best quality in the world!"
As if! The person who buys these weapons will be safer fighting empty-handed. I have never seen a sword of such low quality.
"Alms, alms, please, any amount helps. Please help this poor man." There was a beggar in a corner of the street, he had a bandage over his eyes, probably blind, and he was shaking a metal bowl with some coins in it.
The beggar ended up grabbing a well-dressed man's leg by accident; the man gave the beggar an angry look and kicked him away.
"Don't touch me with those dirty hands!" The well-dressed man shouted.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" The beggar said as he tried to get up.
A group of people began to surround them and observe the situation.
Taking a deep breath, no matter where I go, there are always those considered unwanted, at least it's not as bad as Contamination Valley, I walked quickly towards the well-dressed man, passing the group of people around him, and gave a little tap your shoulder.
"What you want?!" The man said as he turned around.
He was thrown towards a wall due to the punch I gave him in the face, his nose was broken and teeth flew out of his mouth, people around us scared away.
"What's happening?!" The beggar asked, I grabbed him by the shoulders and helped him up.
"Let me help." I took my God Talisman and cast Recovery, a powerful healing miracle.
"What… What are you doing?" The beggar asked me as his wounds healed he looked less malnourished and his skin took on a healthier tone.
Then I took his hand and put some silver coins in it, I don't need that much money.
"Here you go, be more careful next time." Soon after, I left the street of the markets.
The beggar was confused, he was used to being considered a nuisance to society, a man suddenly helping him and giving him so much money seemed too good to be true, but the weight of the coins in his hand proved it had happened.
But there was something else, the beggar felt better, his weakness had diminished, his teeth that had fallen out were back in place, his wounds had healed, and his eyes bothered him a little. Was that light passing through my blindfold? The beggar asked himself.
With trembling hands he removed the bandage from his eyes and for the first time in a long time the beggar was able to see, he was not always blind but one day his sight began to disappear, due to this he lost his job and could not take care of his family, these were the events that brought him to the present situation.
"Where did he go?" The beggar asked the people on the street, but no one could answer because of the miracle that was happening before his eyes.
"Where did he go?!" The beggar asked louder, but no one could answer, the knight was long gone.
Even so, the beggar smiled, tears streaming from his eyes.
"I can see!" The beggar screamed as he ran through the city streets with the coins in his pocket.
He ran until he reached the door of a ramshackle house, opening the door almost knocking it off its hinges, the beggar approached his wife.
"Honey, what happened?!" His wife asked in surprise.
"I can see!" The beggar said as he hugged his wife.
"What? This… This is…" His wife asked in disbelief at what was happening.
"A miracle!" The beggar completed.
"Daddy?" A little girl approached her parents, she was the couple's daughter.
"I can see honey!" The beggar said to his daughter.
The little girl widened her eyes in surprise, tears flowed from her eyes, then she ran towards her parents and hugged them, a miracle had happened for this family.
Edric's POV
I hope that man is all right, but strangely I got the feeling that my previous action will have consequences. It must be just a feeling, I approached the city square, it was a circular square with a large statue in the center, a statue of the five demons that ruled these lands, as I approached the statue I saw a metal plate with something written on it.
"In honor of our savior goddesses who brought us peace and freed us from the tyranny of the Evil Lords."
I opened and closed my hand tightly; these demons won't manipulate these people for long, not if I can stop them.
On the other side of the square was a large wooden three-story building, upon entering the building through the large wooden doors, I found myself in a large luxurious hall, the floor was polished to the point where I could see my reflection, tables and high chairs were all around me, golden chandeliers hung from the ceiling lighting up the hall.
On the other side of the room there was a wooden counter with women on the other side; they were wearing some kind of uniform, as I approached the counter I noticed that the people sitting at the tables were whispering to see me pass.
"Who is this guy?" A man wearing extremely expensive armor, probably a nobleman's son who bought the best equipment money could buy.
"Probably some newbie." A muscular, poorly dressed woman with a large ax spoke.
"Poor guy, he doesn't know what he's getting himself into." A man wearing brown robes and carrying a staff said.
Ignore them Edric, focus on what you came here to do. I stopped in front of the counter, but the woman on the other side hadn't noticed me, she was focused on the documents on her desk. There was a small metal object on her desk with a button on top, I pressed the button and a noise echoed through the room.
DING!
This caught the woman's attention, she looked up and smiled at me "Hello, welcome to the Midgard Adventurers Guild, my name is Reha. How can I help you?"
Why do I get the impression that she repeated that phrase several times? Reha was a woman with blond hair, fair skin and green eyes, her uniform consisted of a white long-sleeved shirt with a black vest over it, black pants, and black shoes.
"Hello Miss Reha, my name is Edric, I was recommended to come here, I was told this is a good place to get money."
Reha looked me up and down "Hm! At least you came prepared, if you want to apply to the guild you need to fill in these documents."
Reha then handed me a pile of documents, when I took one of the papers I realized I couldn't read what was written, she seemed to notice my confusion.
"Is there a problem?" Reha asked.
"I can't read this, I'm from outside Midgard, and my language differs from this. Can you read to me?"
Reha took a deep breath and gave me a forced smile. "Of course, as a guild employee, this is part of my job. Let's begin!" Reha took a quill, dipped it in a pot of ink, and prepared one of the papers.
"Name?" Reha asked.
This will be a long day.
TIMESKIP
Finally I finished giving the information to Reha, at the end she handed me a metal plate.
"Welcome to the Edric guild! The guild works with an adventurer ranking and quests, the rankings are E, D, C, B, A and S for both adventurers and quests, adventurers can only perform quests equal to their rankings, each quest has a cash reward, then After a certain number of successful missions, you will rank up. It is clear?"
"Yes."
"Great, you can get the quests from the wall on the side." Reha pointed to a wooden mural with several papers stuck on it, I approached the mural and picked up a random paper, I couldn't understand anything that was written on the paper.
"I choose this mission." She said as she showed the paper to Reha.
"Edric, this is an S Rank quest." Reha told me nervously.
"Serious? It is what is written?"
"Adventurer wanted to serve as a bodyguard at my party. Signed Intoner Five."
"So you mean Intoners deliver quests to adventurers?"
"Yes, as strong as our goddesses are they cannot be everywhere simultaneously, because of that they send quests to the guild."
"If I'm ranked S, can I do missions for Intoners?"
"Yes."
"And when will this party take place?"
"In a month."
So I have a month to become S Rank, when I reach the rank I will approach the demons and kill them when they least expect it.
"Reha, I want all E-rank missions!"
"Edric I..."
I slammed my hands down on the counter and glared at Reha.
"Here it is!" She handed me a stack of papers as she sweated nervously.
"Thanks!" I put the papers in my bag and ran out of the guild; I will find a way to know what is written on the papers.
TIMESKIP
It was already night, I had stayed at the inn recommended by Missa, they really didn't charge a lot, but they were surprised to have a knight staying here.
I sat on a chair that was in the room by the window, the moonlight illuminated the night, one month, I have a month to get an opportunity to kill one of the demons, this time I will not fail, I thought as I sharpened my sword on a whetstone.
END OF THE CHAPTER
Hi, thanks for reading this far! I would just like to leave some warnings for you who are reading. First is that the next chapters will probably have several TIMESKIPS, I say that because I want to develop the characters, but at the same time, I want to advance the story. Another thing is yes! I wrote a generic isekai city in that chapter, I wanted to have Edric's place to start in Midgard and not just be thrown into the middle of the game's events.
That's it for now, I'd like you to say what you thought of the chapter, criticism and suggestions are welcome.
Until the next chapter!
