ME: They liked it…they really liked it!! *swoons in happiness*

CS: -_-; To the 'grateful' reviewers—

Ms Hobgoblin: ME: Thank you!!! I've been itching to write a TyTa for ages now…in 'Begging For You' many people asked me to write a TyTa. ^_^ Naturally, I complied. Sorry it took so long to show up though.

Weeping Angel: ME: Good for you! But also update Yume Kare Sameru!!! I really liked that story and want to see the outcome!!! CS: Besides, she'll only update if you do!!! ME: That works too. ^__^;

Nanashi2: ME: …Unless you wanted it to be a one-shot, then I'm sorry to disappoint you. ^_^; I know I haven't written any one-shots for some time now…Oh, and update 'True Love, Yep?' That one had me rolling in the floor and clutching my sides. ^___^ You're really good at the humour in TyKa. Keep up the good work!

Unknown Satan: ME: o0 Never realized how…addictive my stories are…anyway, hope you can come back to reality to review again. ^_^; And by accident or by purpose, you reviewed me twice…

Neophantomhazard: ME: Since you asked me so nicely, how could I refuse?

Titanicbabe: ME: Here's your update. Enjoy!!

I luv Yugi and Daisuke so :p: ME: Kinda. You get a better understanding of how 'Kai' is abusing Takao. I'm too much of a TyKa fan to really…destroy the couple.

Rumi-Chan: ME: *watches Rumi twitch* ^____^ This will help!! *gives Rumi of case of Anti-twitch medicine* Hope they help. ^^; CS used to have a really-bad case of the twitches. But I think it only works for muses.…Oh, well. Update your stories!!!! O-negai!!!

Kurai Kaiba: ME: Oh…poor you. Glad you could review even though you're sick. Hope you get better soon!

Kalico: ME: No, I'm not trying to turn him into a cold bastard. I'm going to turn him into a lonely dark bastard. ^^ Now that's cleared up, onto the story.

Kiina: County!

ME: *grumbles* FF.net wouldn't let me access my reviews for a week!

Kai: Serves you right.

Tala: So, are there sufficient amounts of TyTa here? And some TyKa for TyKa lovers…

ME: Yup! ^_^

Kai: I hate her…

Tyson: Now Kai, it's not healthy to hate…

Kai: Right. So you don't hate her for killing me, Max and yourself in 'Dark side of the Moon'

Tyson: Max IS DEAD? TIMMY!!!!!!!

Kai:  ;_; I died too, you know…*sulks in a corner*

ME: *winces* Well, it is a first. I don't think anybody had killed off Max-kun…ever.

Tyson: I'm surprised you're still alive. Didn't Ray try to kill you after you did that?

ME: ^^* I gave him the closet keys.

Tyson: Oh. That makes sense.

CS: Back to the story now. We've wasted enough time on nothing.

ME: K. Onwards! *pushes readers forward to read her absolutely pathetic story*

DISCLAIMER: Don't own it. And if you don't know what 'it' is, then…

CS: You're a dumber audience than she thought.

*SMACK*

ME: ¬¬* What have I said about insulting the reviewers?
CS: *rubs head* I know, I know. But must you hit me so hard?

Chapter Two

Getting it over

Takao let his fingers drum against the wooden table. He sighed, leaning his head on his other hand, evidently bored. Tala had gone off somewhere and he hadn't come back yet. He stared at the ceiling as old memories came flooding back.

*Flashback*

"We're leaving?" Takao asked Kai in confusion. Kai nodded.

"The tournament is over Tyson. We don't need to stay here anymore," Kai said. Takao caught the hidden note though. 'He' didn't have to stay here anymore.

Kai was eager to leave the place of his nightmares.

Takao looked back at the Abbey. He felt some sense of sorrow. It wasn't that bad a place. There were…good memories there too. It wasn't completely in darkness, contrary to what Kai believes.

Takao would miss this place.

"Takao?" Kai asked gently. Takao turned to him with those wide starlight pools of midnight, "Will you…ehm...I mean…," He stuttered while Takao waited patiently.

"Kai?" Takao was puzzled. What was Kai trying to say?

Kai looked into those eyes which pulled him away from the ice and kissed him.

Shock made Takao's mouth open. After a while he replied to the demanding tongue. Kai moaned as he grinded harder. They broke apart for air and Kai enveloped Takao in a bone-crushing hug.

"Don't leave," said the ragged whisper in Takao's ear which sent chills down his body, "Don't leave me."

They stood there for a long time.

*End Flashback*

"Takao?"

Takao tilted his head slightly so that his blue-black bangs would cover his face. He didn't want Tala to see his pain.

Tala sat down at the chair next to him, his arms crossed, "Talk."

Takao felt a brief flash of irritability, "Why should I explain myself to you?" He said angrily. Inside he felt that he sounded childish. Like a thirteen year old all over again.

Pathetic.

Tala watched him out of the corner of his sky-blue eyes, "You left him."

Takao got up so quickly, "How…"

"I know these things. Though I must ask why?" Tala was curious. He knew that Kai loved Takao and Takao loved Kai. What had changed?

Takao's eyes swept over Tala, making the cold teen blush. And he turned away.

Tala's eyes softened unconsciously.

He reached out and grabbed the younger teen's shoulder, "Takao?" He asked.

The younger boy didn't respond.

sono aoi hitomi

Those blue eyes.
Beautiful foolishness
I believed everything about you
Was a miracle. [1]

Tala thought of the old song. He shook his head and spun Tyson around. The younger teen had buried his head in his knees.

"Leave me," Takao begged.

"No," Tala was rock-firm, "Not until you tell me what's wrong."

Takao didn't answer, his tears spilling onto the floor.

"Takao…o-negai,"

Takao took in a shuddering breath, "He…"

"Yes?" Tala prompted.

Takao shook his head, "It doesn't matter." He stood up, tears forgotten.

He turned to Tala and smiled, "Arigatou."

"No problem," Tala said quietly as he watched the teen left. The door shut and Tala felt horribly alone, "No problem," He whispered as he too left the room.

Sometimes he wondered if he was going anywhere in life. That he being here had some purpose.

It was times like this that had shown him how deep the hole was.

"Takao?"

Takao spun around, "Tala," He said neutrally.

Tala tried to be impassive to the younger teen's pain, "Why are you here?"

Takao turned to face the horizon, "No reason in particular."

Tala snorted, "Right."

Takao smiled at him, "Have you ever seen the ocean?"

Tala shook his head, "I've never left Russia." He said, almost regretfully.

Takao was still smiling at him. Tala wished he would stop doing that. It made him feel.

"One day Tala," Takao turning to the vast expanse in front of him. He could see the dawn breaking through the fuscia clouds, "I will take you to see the ocean."

Tala was disturbed. He never remembered Takao to be this…depressed. A light bulb flashed.

Was it because of Kai?

"Does this whole mumjo-jumbo have anything to do with Kai?"

Takao cocked an eyebrow at him, "Mumbo-jumbo?" He asked skeptically, making Tala blush.

"You know what I mean!" Tala said as gruffly as he could as he tried to maintain a control on his blush.

Takao said nothing. His pupils darkened and the world seemed a black place in his eyes.

Tala remained silent. Quietly he wrapped his arms around the younger boy. This simple gesture had Takao draw in a shuddering breath. The tears prickled his eyes.

How long had he wanted just to be held like this?

Memories of Kai assaulted him. Takao's voice burst in a sob. Tala noticed the younger teen's apparent sorrow.

"Let's go. It's getting cold."

That was a lie, but Takao drew comfort from that lie and they left.

The horizon brightened.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

He let the wind play with his hair. His face contorted darkly.

He hated this place. Takao had an unusual connection to this place though.

And he knew. He knew Takao would be here.

"Welcome to Russia, Mr…" The hotel manager stumbled. He couldn't catch his surname.

He grinned.

"Kai Hiwatari."

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Takao woke up in a jolt. His dreams had been filled with sweat and tears. So many tears. How many tears would he shed for Kai?

"You're awake."

Takao swiveled his head and meet a pair of sapphire eyes. Takao said nothing, hiding his emotions, but this did not go unnoticed by Tala.

"He did this to you, didn't he?" Tala said softly. However, Takao picked up the undercurrent of anger coursing down his voice.

Takao hesitated. He didn't know how to answer this.

Tala got up his chair so quickly the wooden chair hit the ground. Takao turned questionable eyes at him. Tala hated that. This was not the Takao he remembered.

"Takao," Tala said placing his arms on the younger teen's shoulders, "Please stop doing this to yourself."

The dam broke. Takao found his voice.

"Don't you patronize me," Tala stepped back, startled to hear the harsh voice. Takao continued, "You don't know what I went through. What Kai went through! He loves me!"

"Then why did you run away?" Tala said dryly, "Frightened? Scared of Kai?"

Takao balled his hands into fists, "Shut up! Have you ever been in a relationship? Do you know Tala?"

Tala's eyes hardened and he growled, "I have. But you defending him isn't going to help nothing. I know him better than you do Kinomiya? We were raised together! I know his mind."

The tears were falling now. Tala reached out a hand and brushed them off. Takao broke, clutching Tala's T-shirt tightly.

Tala wrapped his arms around him, soothing him, "But only you knew his heart."

Through the hysterical sobs, Takao spoke, "He…said he loved me! You don't do this to the person you love!"

Tala's eyes creased, "Kai loves you. But his love is not like other love."

Takao didn't say anything, only buried his head deeper into Tala's T-shirt. Tala held him closer, liking the feeling of the youth in his arms.

Tala spoke after what seemed a long time, "Where did he beat you?"

"Everywhere," Came the quiet reply. It took all of Tala's control not to get up after Kai. He should know better than that. But another small sob reminded Tala where he was.

Tala rested his chin on Takao's shoulder, "Takao…"

The younger teen didn't respond. He had exhausted himself. Tala gently picked up the boy and laid him on the bed and pulled the covers over him. He ran a finger down the Dragon's face. All the worry lines had vanished, leaving behind a very young sixteen year old. The tear streaks were still there. Tala picked up the chair and sat on it.

He was there throughout the whole day.
