Calleigh Duquesne paced her office in the New Orleans Crime Lab nervously. She was about to meet her future. Sort of. She was actually about to meet the man who could make or break her future. She was usually a very calm and collected person. Always ready to greet you with a smile. And she would be okay when Lieutenant Hortatio Caine got here, but right now, she had butterflies in her stomach.

Calleigh really didn't want to mess this interview up. She wanted to get the hell out of Louisiana. She needed a fresh start. One away from a dysfunctional family that consisted of a drunken mother and father and two younger brothers who could give a shit about her. She was smart, she knew. She was probably one of the best ballistics experts in the country. Ever. She knew that, too. She also knew that first impressions were very important. She had to make one very good impression to get the approval of the highly regarded Lieutenant Caine.

Lieutenant Horatio Caine stepped out of the airport that had opened him to the city of New Orleans, Louisiana. He usually didn't travel such long distances to interview a potential CSI, but he had heard so many great things about Calleigh Duquesne. He really wanted to show her what lengths he would go to to have her join his CSI team in Miami, Florida. He figured she had much better offers being thorown her way, but he really wanted this girl. She had the reputation of being the best ballistics expert in the country. Which was exactly what he needed.

He felt like he needed to make a very good first impression in order to win her over. He, of course, came prepared. He packed as much charm as suitcase would allow. Which, he guessed, wasn't very much, but it would have to do. He had to get this girl. "Bullet Girl" You know with a nickname like that, she would have to be good.

Calleigh put a smile on her face when she heard her boss, Lieutenant Michael Brady's, voice floating toward her office along with another, slighty velvet and sexier voice. Oh God, she hoped that wasn't the voice of Horatio Caine. She was a sucker for sexy voices. She wanted to impress, not swoon.

Michael and the other man stepped into her office. She stopped smiling instantly. She was in big trouble if this was Lieutenant Caine. Standing before her was the most handsome, intense man that she had ever met. He had fiery red hair hair and smoldering blue eyes. He was tall and lean, at least two inches taller than her current employer.

When Horatio saw Calleigh, he also did a double take. He knew she was talented, but he had no idea that she would be this beautiful. She had the longest blonde hair that he had ever seen. She looked soft and fragile, nothing like he had imagined. She was very petite, only about 5'3 and 105 pounds, but she had luscious curves that would make any woman jealous.

Michael said," Lieutenant Horatio Caine, meet Detective Calleigh Duquesne."

"Pleased to meet you, Miss Duquesne," Horatio replied, putting as much charm into that one sentence as he could muster. She had this strange ability to render him speechless.

"Likewise Lieutenant, but please, call me Calleigh."

"In that case, you can call me Horatio."
