Me: walks in

All: …

Me: Ummm…hi?

All: THERE SHE IS!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET HER!!!!!!!!!!!!

CS: watches the reviewers chase Timmy To the reviewers—

JadesRose: Hmmm…I was thinking of a sequel for this, you know. If you want Kai to reform, I guess send me a person you think would be suitable for Kai. Ray excluded. I already have plans for him. snickers evilly TyKa rox! Don't worry, I would never change that pairing for the world!

Dragi: Sorry this chapter took so long. Hope you enjoy this chapter!

Az-Strawberry: They will sort out their problems. As for Kai, after this story is done you can chase him with the mallet, k?

tenshi208: Sorry, but I was moving (to a whole new country!) So I didn't get much time to update!

animegirl171: Ooooohhhh!!! snatches cookie from you COOKIE! MINE! eyes turn shifty as Timmy hides the cookie behind her back Thanks for the cookie! Here's your update!

I luv Yugi and Daisuke so :p: Ta-kun is so confused! He isn't sure about his feelings for Takao-kun. And Takao is worse! He's not sure he loves Kai or Tala. I know I got confused somewhere…

Joce: He shows up here! You'll find out, don't worry!

Shinobi Shadow: Kai has been doing a lot of yelling lately. smirks That's why I had CS lock him in the cupboard with her plushies. It works, try it! If not, get Takao-kun to do something.

Yukiko-Angel: Fro some reason Ta-kun grew on me. I never liked him at first, but that changed for some reason. Tala and Bryan do make a cute couple, but I always preferred TyTa above all Tala pairings. shrugs Might write some more TyTa later, not sure…

Kiina: Yes, you can actually. Despite their differences, they also have their similarities if you look really hard. Really Really Hard.

Jade Mask: They are cute together. I'm not sure whether I'll write more TyTa after this. I usually use Tala in Kai/Takao/Tala triangle like in Sealing of the Myths…winces Angevar screamed at me for ages for killing Tala off…

HogoshaNoFumetsu: It's angst. Angst is supposed to end this way! Glad you liked it though…

Ms Hobgoblin: How complicated? Can't be any worse than Sealing of the Myths. I have to do a whole background before I even started the story! Glad you're back. I missed you!

Kurai Kaiba: They are together…didn't I mention that earlier?

Ayamari: Here's your update! And update your stories also! I liked them a lot!

Siren of the Darknessflame: Angst does tend to get depressing after a while…but don't worry. Hopefully, they'll try not to act so stupid.

Me: So, who's doing the disclaimer?

CS: checks list I think it's Kaiba.

Kaiba: Hn. Timmy does not own Beyblade.

Me: …Thanks?

Kaiba: Hn. leaves

CS: …He's…articulate…

Me: For a minute I thought he was related to Kai…

Chapter Six

Forgotten Lies

Bryan stretched and yawned. It had been a rather stressful night. Bad dreams…

And that glow. That sparkle he had seen somewhere, but unable to connect the ties of his past to the present.

Tala's dilemma hadn't helped his sleeping problem. He had seen the anguish in the Demolition Captain's eyes. Alia had too and it took all her self-restraint and Bryan's grip not to strike him down for the fool he was.

Bryan had to stop himself from attacking Tala as well. How could he be so dumb?!

"Amantes sunt amentes [1]" Bryan said chuckling dryly. That explained everything.

Alia got up from her room, fully dressed, "Morning Bryan," She said sleepily, wiping her eyes.

Bryan gave her a curt nod and glanced at Takao's room. She followed his gaze and scowled, "Tala was an idiot, wasn't he?"

"Better believe it," Bryan said, "We have to fix this."

Alia looked at him in disbelief, "Seriously? But what can we do? We can't put Takao in deliberate harm."

Bryan rubbed his chin, an old habit, "True, but there is something we can do."

Takao woke up. He rubbed his eyes and moaned. He still hadn't gotten a sufficient amount of sleep to be considered awake. He shivered unwillingly.

No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't forget the wild uncontrollable passion of Kai.

He had loved it.

Now he lived in fear of it.

It wasn't like the smooth soft caress of Tala. Takao sucked in breath.

Was he falling in love with Tala?

He had been hurt by Tala's answer. That he didn't mean as much to the red-haired teen as he thought he did.

But that night when Tala said he loved him…

Was it a lie?

He didn't understand. Heck, he didn't want to.

Takao got out of bed and changed quietly. He opened his door and approached the dining table. Bryan greeted him with a raise of his eyebrows and Alia smiled at him brightly. Takao pulled up a seat and sat down.

"Where's Tala?" Takao asked.

Alia took a sip out of her coffee, "Still sleeping."

Takao raised his eyebrows, "Really?" He sounded disbelieving.

Bryan let out a dry laugh, "Trust me Takao. Tala never gets up before noon."

"I never knew that!" Takao said smiling.

"Well, now you know, "Bryan said simply.

Tala approached the table and drew up a chair next to Takao. Takao's eyes darkened and he lowered his head. Alia noticed this and sent an imperceptible nod to Bryan.

Tala ran a hand through his red locks, "God, grant me good sleep for once." He muttered under his breath, accepting the coffee mug from Alia.

Alia cocked an eyebrow at him, "Bad dreams?"

"You don't know the half of it," Tala grumbled, taking a sip of the coffee and grimaced, "Hiwatari's face has been haunting me."

Takao jerked at that and stared at Tala with fear-induced eyes, "You mean…you saw him too?"

"What do you mean, 'saw him too'?" Bryan questioned, his indigo eyes sharp like a falcon's beak.

Takao paled, "I-I saw him too. He was…with someone. There was so much fire…" Takao trailed off, remembering.

Tala turned his head sharply at him, "Takao?"

Takao started shaking.

There was so much fire…

"Play with fire, you're bound to get burned," Alia said appreciatively.

Bryan couldn't disagree with that.

Takao stood up from his seat, "I have to end this."

Tala stared at him, "End what?"

Takao refused to look at him, "I'm going back to him."

If they weren't awake before, they were now.

"You can't be serious," Bryan said, trying for reason, "You don't know what he will do to you."

"I know better than you what he can do to me, but that's not the point," Takao drew in breath. His eyes blurred and he felt an itching in his throat, "The point is, he will hurt even innocents to get to me. This way, he'll have me and everything will be fine."

Tala stood up, his sky blue eyes flashing in anger, "What about yourself Kinomiya?" Tala barked out. Bryan heard the hurt in his voice, "You can't sacrifice yourself! You don't love him!"

"Does that matter?" Takao retorted, his hungry grey eyes bright with indignation, "I will get him to stop and…and…." Takao sank to the floor, "It doesn't matter what I feel. It has never mattered before."

Tala's eyes softened and wrapped his arms around Takao. Takao shrugged them off, ignoring Tala. Tala's face grew dark and he strode into his room.

Alia and Bryan exchanged glances.

They had to do something about this, and fast!

They trudged back to Tala's cabin. Takao's eyes were hidden from them and the aura Tala emitted was anything but pleasant.

Alia wanted to smack her cousin. Who would have thought he was so thick-headed?

Bryan wasn't helping matters. She was pretty sure the glares he sent at Tala's back were potentially dangerous.

"Oh no…"

Alia subconsciously placed her hand on her mouth.

The cabin had been razed to the ground. Completely destroyed.

Tala let out a howl of anger. His sky-blue eye pulsed dangerously.

Takao stepped away from the destruction. Bryan growled low.

Hiwatari.

"Damn you!" Tala yelled out to the sky, shaking his fist.

Takao said nothing, his eyes glued onto the senseless waste.

Alia's amethyst eyes were cold, "I can't believe this. Is he so absorbed in himself that he would do this?!"

Bryan rubbed his forehead in a condescending manner, "That's Kai for you."

"…No…"

They turned to Takao, whose eyes widened in horror. Then Takao turned on his heel and ran.

"Takao!" Tala yelled, scrambling after him.

Bryan was about to chase Takao as well, but a restraining hand was placed on him.

Alia's eyes pulsed darkly, "Kai wasn't alone."

Bryan's spirits sank, "Who was with him?"

Alia's silence was answer enough.

He stared into the blank oblivion, his hands stroking the money clenched in his fist.

He grinned rather sardonically. He had been keeping tabs on his 'so-called' cousins for some while now, but he didn't know that would come in handy later on.

And it did.

A mix-breed Russian-Japanese came in looking for Tala. And he was only too glad to give the information. And with Alia lying low for a while, he was able to relish his new found wealth status all by himself.

So he was selfish.

"Wicca!"

Oh crap…

Alia strode in, looking like the Queen of Iceland. Bryan followed her in; looking partially amused and partially worried. Wicca snarled under his breath and shoved the money in his pocket in an act of desperation.

Alia stood in front of him, her eyes flashing, "You better have a good reason for revealing Tala's cabin to Kai."

Wicca began to sweat. Alia was scary when she got angry, "Who? Sorry, never heard of him before—," He was stopped short when Alia whipped out a knife and pointed it at his throat, "Alright! Put the pointy knife away! I don't like sharp objects. My mother always told me not to play with them."

"You don't like sharp objects pointed at your throat is what you really meant," Bryan said, his violet eyes glinting in a feral way, "Now talk."

Wicca sighed, "The guy paid me to tell him the location. And you know I'm a sucker for easy money."

"Wicca, you ass. Did you ever wonder why he wanted to know the location?"

He frowned, allowing some of his green-blue hair to fall on his face, "No. I didn't think about it. Thought he was a friend of Tala's or something."

"You…" Alia was about to drive the knife home when a placating arm was placed on her shoulder. She calmed down.

"Look, did he tell you where he might be?" Bryan said quietly. All he could think was the utter stupidity of the man in front of him.

Wicca pursed his lips in thought, "He told he hired a place in Petersburg. Near the old palace."

"Great," Bryan said noncommittally, "Let's go Alia."

"Not yet," Her eyes were steadfast, "We need something else."

Takao ran headlong among the trees. All he could think of was getting away…

Get away from everyone else…

From Alia…

From Bryan…

From Tala…

Before Kai hurts them too….

Tala….

Before he hurts Tala…

I won't let that happen! Takao closed his eyes as he ran ahead. I won't!

"Takao! Please! Stop!"

Takao ignored Tala's voice. But it was so hard.

So hard not to stop and run into the safety of Tala's arms...

"Takao!" Tala seemed to be gaining, he thought.

Then two pair of arms grabbed him. Takao stilled.

"Please don't run," The voice breathed in his ear.

"I have to. He'll hurt you!" Takao said quietly, "I'll run away. Go somewhere where he won't hurt you."

"Takao, you can't run away all the time," Tala said quietly, "Do you really think he will let you go?"

"…No," Takao said softly.

"Do you think I would let you go?" Tala whispered, "Don't run."

Takao felt his limbs slacken, "I never…"

"I know," As Tala held him closer, he whispered again, "I know."
