Chapter 11:
Natasha and the rest of Dagger Squad, were hanging out at the Hard Deck, beers going around laughter, you name it, when Rooster arrived, he was completely in his dress whites, and he never wears them. When Nat sees him, she smiles as she looks at his direction, but her beautiful smile goes away when she sees his face, it wasn't of joy, anger or remorse, but of fear.
She walks over to him, unsure of what to expect. "Brad, what's wrong?". But when he makes eye contact, he was shaking, she didn't see him like this, since his mom passed away. "Brad, what is it?".
"I… I am being deployed. For a black op.".
She was silent, shaking even, she takes his hand, pulls him down, and whispers in his ear, "Let's take this somewhere else, okay?".
As the two lovers leave for the beach, they were spotted by Bob and Hangman, somehow, those two formed a bromance, how the hell that was possible, the two guys look at each other, confused, and then make their way to the slide door that leads to the deck, they could see that Brad and Nat were arguing, up to the point where she… collapses into him?
"The fuck?" Hangman, stood there, eyes wide, unsure of his next reaction. "Guys, has something recently happen between Rooster and Phoenix?".
Payback looks at his backseater, Fanboy, "Not that we know of." Coyote shrugs as well, he hangs out with Bob and Hangman all the time, either bench watching Baywatch or at their poker night, he was in the dark just like the rest.
Everyone looks at Bob, looking for an answer, he just shrugs, "I don't know either." He lied right through his teeth.
Hangman decided to find out, using the side-door, he moves to the ocean, but keeping a safe distance. He sees Nat crying, a silent 'WTF' races through his mind. He decides to find out, leaving his hiding spot, he exposes himself, where Brad sees him.
"What are you doing here?".
Hangman shoves his hands in his pockets, "What did you do!?".
Nat then said: "Jake, just, just back-off, okay, we're just talking.".
But he wasn't having that, "No, what is going on?".
"They're in love, jackass." Bob says from behind, and the rest of the squad behind him.
Hangman looks at them, then at the couple, and he moves his head back and forth in a continuous loop, as if he was in replay. "When did this happen!?". He stops himself and raises his hands, "Fuck it, I don't want to know.".
Both Brad and Nat stand up and look over to their squad, then to each other, as they nod to each other. "I am being deployed for a black op, and it's a solo mission, it involves the Uranium Plant mission.".
"WHAT!" the squad stood in total shock. They then look at Bob, clearly pissed by the fact he lied to them. "They made me keep my mouth shut!".
Hangman then groans, "Damn, that means I owe you a weeks pay!" he groans again, and the entire squad bursts into laughter.
Lightening up Nat's sorrow mood a bit, but when she looks back at Brad, she starts crying again. Burying her face into his chest. "Be safe, please.".
It felt strange, showing emotions, ever since she joined the Navy, people questioned her due to the fact she was a woman, but hell, to Brad, she was by far, stronger then any male pilot Bradley ever worked with before, physically and emotionally. "I will. That's a promise.".
