Welcome back to the Xenoblade Heart to Hearts series! Last time, Melia re-entered the chat. And now, she's about to start another conversation with Cynder. How's this going to go? Read on to discover... (Fair warning, this chapter may be shorter than usual)
Heart to Heart 64: Your Mother's Eyes
Participants: Cynder and Melia
Location: Imperial Villa
Affinity: Pink
Introduction
Cynder: So this is where you grew up?
Melia: Yes. I lived in the Imperial Villa with my mother, before her passing. (Points out a portrait) In fact, that's her in that portrait.
Cynder: I can certainly see the resemblance. You have her eyes.
Melia: Thank you.
Cynder: I can only imagine she was the sweetest.
Melia: (Sees something on her face) Are you okay?
Pass/Pass
Cynder: Yeah, just... remembering something.
Melia: Did I say something that set you off?
Cynder: No, just... a memory came to me.
Melia: May I inquire?
Cynder: All this talk of mothers... reminded me of mine.
Melia: She died while you were young?
Cynder: I never knew her. At least personally. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if I killed her while under Malefor's control.
Melia: Oh my.
Cynder: The only thing I remember is her voice. She used to sing to me while I was still in my egg. I still hear her voice in my dreams. At least, I think it's her voice. (Starts to tear up) I just wish I could have known her.
Melia: I can say this for certain, Cynder. Whoever she was, wherever she is, I know she's proud of what her daughter has become.
Cynder: (Drying her eyes) As is yours, Melia.

Pass/Fail
Cynder: Yeah, just... remembering something.
Melia: Did I say something that set you off?
Cynder: No, just... a memory came to me.
Melia: May I inquire?
Cynder: It's really a touchy subject. I don't really speak of it much.
Melia: I understand.
Cynder: Thanks, Melia.
Melia: I'm sure we'll be able to discuss it one day.
Cynder: We'll see.

Fail/Pass
Cynder: Huh? It's nothing.
Melia: Cynder, we've known each other for how long now? I've come to realize the signs of you hiding something. You needn't be afraid to tell me.
Cynder: Damn it, she's good at reading the room.
Melia: So, what is bothering you?
Cynder: (Sighs) It's just... I never knew my own mother.
Melia: Oh. I'm terribly sorry if this upset you.
Cynder: No, Melia. You didn't do anything to upset me. If anything, I brought it on myself.
Melia: I understand. Let's move to another room, maybe that will alleviate the discomfort.

Fail/Fail
Cynder: Huh? It's nothing.
Melia: Cynder, we've known each other for how long now? I've come to realize the signs of you hiding something. You needn't be afraid to tell me.
Cynder: Damn it, she's good at reading the room.
Melia: So, what is bothering you?
Cynder: I said it's nothing, Melia. Can we just leave it at that?
Melia: I know you're lying to me, but I don't want to upset you further. Very well, I will leave it at that then. Perhaps we should continue the tour?
Cynder: Sounds like a good idea. That was close. I don't want to have Melia shoulder my burdens.

And that looks like a good place to wrap up for today. A bit of a short conversation, but still one that I think sounds nice. So, who is the next to chat in Alcamoth? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
