Chapter 7: When the Meteors Fall

(At the top of Boss Cass Tower)

Ty, Pit, Sly, and Dark Pit had made it to the top of the tower. Pit and Dark Pit were still equipped with the Neo Sacred Treasures though. Once they got to the top, there was the Meteor Beacon at the center of the roof of the tower.

Pit- That must be it! Let's smash it now!

Pit was about to charge at the Meteor Beacon, but Ty stopped him.

Ty- Wait, Pit! This is too easy, mate.

Then an energy shield was seen surrounding the Meteor Beacon that would've likely shocked Pit if he had rushed into it. But it wasn't long before Boss Cass and Karlos appeared from behind the Meteor Beacon.

Boss Cass- I guess you really are the only smart hero in the Super Mario Brothers' Team, Ty. Since you saw through my trap while that angel didn't.

Ty- Well I know you very well, Boss Cass. You hardly make it this easy.

Sly- But you'd best give up now if you don't want a world of hurt!

Karlos- You're in no position to be making demands. Both the beacon and us are safely behind this barrier I've developed.

Ty- I'll bet one blast from the Sacred Spiritual Bunyip energy will shatter it, mate…

Ty tried to activate the Sacred Spirit power from the Bunyips, but instead of gaining that red aura around his body, it barely sparked before powering down.

Ty- What the hell?!

Viridi (telepathically to Ty)- Ty…hate to break the bad news to you…but you already used that power from the Bunyip realm during your fight with Medusa.

Karlos- That power you gained from the Bunyips is powerful indeed, but such power requires time to recharge after it's been used.

Boss Cass- CAWHAHAHAHA! I'd say that's a point for me! Your greatest asset has just been used up before you can use it when you really needed it. I'd say Medusa served her purpose well.

Pit- That's why you had Medusa stall us?! To drain Ty of his spiritual power?

Boss Cass- Actually, I was hoping she would've turned you to stone before you got her, but that works too.

Pit- Doesn't matter! I'm sure Pittoo and I can bust through with the Neo Sacred Treasures!

Dark Pit- I swear, I'll bust a hole through you if you call me Pittoo again!

Boss Cass- Yes, I suppose you could in time with those godly weapons of yours…but I'd suggest you direct your attention on other pressing matters.

Then Boss Cass turned on the Meteor Beacon and a loud signal was shot into the sky. Then Pit and Dark Pit saw three large meteors falling from the sky and heading towards the ground. Each was heading for different parts in Australia, far distances.

Palutena (telepathically to Pit)- Pit, you and Dark Pit need to fly up there…NOW!

Pit- But what about Ty and…

Viridi (telepathically to Pit)- Stopping those meteors from crashing into the planet is our top priority and the Neo Sacred Treasures you're both equipped with are the only things that can stop them quickly!

Dark Pit- They're right! We need to get our asses in gear!

Then Dark Pit uses the Great Neo Sacred Treasure to fly up towards one of the falling meteors. Pit gritted his teeth before looking at Ty and Sly.

Pit- I don't feel good about leaving you like this, Ty.

Ty- Don't worry, mate. I'll figure something out. In the meantime, you and Dark Pit just focus on stopping those meteors.

Pit- Rodger!

Then Pit flew up with the Three Neo Sacred Treasures and towards another meteor.

Sly- I'd like to know how we can get through that shield and get to that Meteor Beacon.

Ty- Obvious, Sly. The device powering that energy shield has to be on the outside of the barrier. Otherwise, they wouldn't be having it surround them. Strike that and the shield should go down.

Boss Cass- True, but even I'm not that stupid to prepare for that!

Then four mechanical legs emerged from underneath the platform Boss Cass and Karlos were standing on and revealed it was a giant robot in disguise.

Boss Cass- I've prepared for everything this time! And without your special power from the Bunyips or your friends from the Super Mario Brothers' Team, you won't stop me this time!

Little did Boss Cass and Karlos know, a small portal was opening them. Not long after, something rushed out it, tackled Boss Cass to the ground from behind at incredible speed, and began pounding away at Boss Cass. But before Karlos could react, a beam of energy was shot at him from behind and Karlos was shocked and fell to the ground. Boss Cass looked over and saw Shazza holding her shock pistol as she exited that small portal.

Boss Cass- The orange rat's wife? Then what's grabbing hold of me…

Then Boss Cass looked up, he almost gulped when he realized it was Fluffy who was grabbing hold of his neck with one hand and punching him in the face with the other.

Boss Cass- Oh…hello there, Fluffy…

Fluffy- Wasn't bad enough that you clone me and killed me once, but you have to freeze everything and drive a cold-blooded lizard like me crazy!

Sly- Shazza and Fluffy? How did they?

Shazza- Palutena and Viridi created that portal we used to get through that shield Boss Cass and Karlos had set up. But Fluffy, I think you can stop beating on Boss Cass and help me turn off this energy shield so we can let them turn off the Meteor Beacon.

Fluffy- Fine, but I'm not done with him yet! I still owe Cass for this cold!

Ty- Geeze! Who knew the cold weather could make Fluffy so hostile like that.

Sly- Reminds me of how Shazza behaved when the Deadly Six kidnapped all those kids including Fang. That was really scary!

Then Shazza and Fluffy turned off the energy shield and Ty and Sly approached the Meteor Beacon.

Fluffy- Not to be rash, but do you even know how to stop this thing?

Ty- Simba was able to stop the Meteor Beacon Duke Cass made. So I should be able to stop this one too.

(In the skies above Australia)

Pit was flying towards one of the falling meteors and aimed his Neo Arrow of Light Bow.

Pit- I see the weak spots!

Pit fired a few light arrows at these glowing spots on the meteor and it fell apart.

Pit- Just like when I shot down Viridi's reset bomb!

Palutena- Pit, you need to destroy those small chunks as well!

Pit- Sure thing, Lady Palutena!

Meanwhile, Dark Pit managed to catch one falling meteors with the arms of the Great Neo Sacred Treasure and stop it in its tracks. Then Dark Pit threw that meteor at the last falling meteor like a dodgeball and they both shattered to pieces. Dark Pit fired a spread of shots at the pieces and destroyed them before they could hit the ground. Then Pit flew up to Dark Pit.

Pit- That's all three. I think we got them all.

Then Dark Pit looked up and had a look of terror on his face.

Dark Pit- You might want to rethink that…

Then Dark Pit pointed at the sky and Pit saw several more meteors were being attracted to Earth and falling from the sky.

Pit- How…

Dark Pit- That Meteor Beacon is still active and still attracting more and will continue to until that Tasmanian Tiger can stop that signal. But we need to focus on stopping them from hitting the ground!

Pit- I'm exhausted already…

(Back at Boss Cass' tower)

Ty was working on rewiring the Meteor Beacon while having Sly and Fluffy move parts of the antenna in the directions Ty instructed them to.

Ty- Now Sly, more your piece to the right and Fluffy, move your piece higher…

After Sly and Fluffy did as Ty asked, Ty connected two electrical wires from the Meteor Beacon together and used his Thunderangs to charge the Meteor Beacon's battery.

Ty- I hope this works like when Simba tried this!

Then the Meteor Beacon sent a signal into the sky. As soon as it reached the atmosphere, the meteors falling to Earth were now being repelled back into space.

Sly- Look! It's working! The meteors are returning to space.

Ty- Guess it was a good thing I paid attention to Palutena and Viridi's story about when Simba and Icarus handled the Meteor Beacon.

Fluffy- I have just one question…what are we going to do about all this cold?!

(Later at Palutena's Skypalace in Skyworld)

Several citizens from Buramudgee were exiting portals from Buramudgee and into Skyworld. At least there was enough room in the palace to house all of them.

Sly- Yeash! Can't believe we have to hang here for a while.

Fluffy- At least it's not freezing cold!

Ty- It's just until Palutena and Viridi can fix the damage done to Buramudgee. Sorry about having the entire population of Buramudgee take up residence in Skyworld, shela.

Palutena- It's no trouble. You are a friend of Pit and you are part of the Super Mario Brothers' Team.

Pit- Maybe Viridi can…

Viridi- No way, Pit! I've already got enough vacancy in my palace and don't need any more! Also, I know what that little Tasmanian tiger cub, Fang, is capable of and even though he is adorable and just a baby, I don't want him tearing up my nature. But then again, just imagine how much Fang can help you heroes out when he's around your age.

Palutena- Though sadly, it will take some time before your home will be back to normal. Like, around the same time the author finishes the finale for this season long.

Ty- That's ok, as long as the people are safe until then. We'll try not to be a burden to you during our stay.

Pit- And let's hope you'll both be in top condition for whatever is going to happen in the season finale.

Epilogue-

(Tabuu's Palace in Subspace)

There was a small figure who looked like she was made of paper and folded like origami sitting in a chair with a very fancy tea set on the table in front of her. She might've been locked up in this room, but it was very nice and comfortable. Still, she knew things were not going to go well soon. She did take a sip of tea from her jewel incrusted teacup. But it wasn't long before another figure who looked like an origami figure as well rushed up to her. This one was apparently a male and he was holding a large book.

Female origami figure- You're back!

Male origami figure- Yeah, but I couldn't get very far in this palace without Tabuu realizing I snuck out using the key to our room I swiped from that Fawful creep.

Female origami figure- But how did you get past Zero2 who's always outside our door?

Male origami figure- Distracting that giant eyeball is easy. I make him look one direction and I can instantly dash past his line of sight before he can even notice. But I'll admit, it wasn't easy avoiding being spotted by Tabuu or his other minions. Tabuu and Hades especially were hard to get past. But I did manage to snoop around Tabuu's room. And let me tell you, I was very surprised to find a huge stash of "My Little Pony" comic books stashed in his underwear drawer. I don't think I've seen so many. But more importantly, I've finally figured out what Tabuu has planned for us.

Then the male origami figure placed a book on the table and the female origami figure read what was on page the book opened up to.

Female origami figure- What is…oh my! So this is why Tabuu revived us?!

Male origami figure- Yes…unfortunately, it is. And we're intended to be the sacrificial lambs Tabuu needs to summon this…Empress…

Then the female origami figure stood from her seat.

Female origami figure- We can't let this happen! We need to do something!

Then the male origami figure tightened his grip in anger.

Male origami figure- If only it were that easy…I think you know that even if I was at full power…even I don't stand a chance against Tabuu's power. He's even stronger that this origami monster he wants to summon. But don't you worry, because I won't let anything happen to you! We'll find a way out of here and escape before Tabuu finish the preparations for this ritual!

Female origami figure- Brother…

Male origami figure- But I will admit, I am curious about this…Marco Mario…that Tabuu keeps talking about.

Female origami figure- Marco Mario…I wonder if he's related to our friend, Mario?
