Fourth Exam: Zevil Island(Part 1)
"Congratulations on having escaped trick tower, ladies and gentlemen." Lippo congratulates with his glasses shinning, "Only the fourth phase and the final exam remains." He then points to the island behind him, "The fourth phase will take place over there, Zevil Island. Let us proceed." Lippo them snaps his fingers and a man, rolling a stand comes in, "I'll need you to draw lots."
Some examinees wanna know what it's for and Lippo answers, "To see who will hunt and who will be hunted. In here there are twenty-seven numbered cards. In other words, your ID numbers are on the card. Now I need you all to draw a card in which the order you exited the tower. Will the first person please come forward?"
Everyone looks around for the first person and it was none other than Hisoka, who Gon notices and puts on a serious look at seeing him. After Hisoka picks a card, the rest follow suit and pick out cards as well.
"Everyone's taken a card? Then remove the seals from your card." Lippo instructs, to which everyone does as they see the numbers on their cards.
"The numbers indicates your target." Lippo reveals.
The sound of that makes everyone cover their card numbers, while gon's looks on his card and sees that hisoka is his target.
"This box has recorded what card each of you drew. This means that your free to dispose of the cards if you wish. The objective is to steal your target's ID." Lippo explains.
"So we don't have to end up killing each other?" One of them asked.
"Naturally, you're free to use any method in order to get the ID tag's, that includes killing." Lippo replied.
"No freakin way..." Happy mutters.
"That makes it all the more easy." One of them said.
"Listen carefully. Your target's ID card is worth 3 points, including your own." Lippo instructs, "Other ID card's are only worth one. You need six points to advance to the final phase. So while on zevil island, you must gather enough ID tags to total 6. In conclusion, that is the condition to passing the fourth phase."
With that said, every examine boards the ship onward to zevil island. Khara, the examiner, introduces herself and tries lightening the mood on everyone, but it proves unsuccessful.
As everyone was quiet on the ship, Killua, Wendy, and Happy went to where Gon was...
"Hey, gon." The three walked up to him
"Yo." He greeted them back as they sat down next to him, looking at the sky as well.
"Being hunted while hunting others was very unexpected." Happy breaks the silence.
"This is gonna be very hard." Wendy nods.
"You can say that again." Gon agrees as they still look at the sky.
Killua is silent for a second and wonders something, "So... what number did you guys draw?"
"What about you?" Gon questions back.
"Secret." Killua turns around.
"Now it's just a guessing game!" Happy exclaims, to which Wendy giggles.
It was an awkward silence as they played at it being a secret, but they even laughed it off and tell each who's hunting who.
"Don't worry, you two aren't my target." Killua smiles,
"Hey! What about me?" Happy points to himself
"Oh that... you are my target." Killua grins.
"Wha-NOOO!" Happy exclaims and doesn't like that, "I don't wanna be assassinated!"
"Ha ha! just kidding." Killua teases, "You aren't my target either."
"*Phew*! That wasn't funny!" Happy dramatically exclaims, which cause Gon and Wendy to laugh a bit.
"You guys aren't my target either." Gon says.
"Not mines either." Wendy adds.
Killua then gets an idea, "How about we show each other's cards at the same time? Including you, happy."
"Oh, I get it." Happy understands
"Alright, let's do it then." Gon and Wendy agree before all 4 drew their cards out, revealing who's hunting who.
When Gon card is revealed to be #44, the 3 were surprised.
"44?" Killua gasps a little.
"Wait, that's..." Wendy trailed in surprise as well.
"Could it be..." Happy trailed as well as they know who's 44, Hisoka.
"Seriously? You have bad luck..." Killua looks at Gon
"It looks impossible..." Wendy added.
"Of all the badge number you had to end up with..." Happy adds as well.
"You think so?" Gon scratches his head, giggles a little, before looking at their cards, "What about your numbers?"
Killua has #199, Wendy has #152, and Happy has #119.
"Don't know, I didn't bother remembering the numbers." Killua shrugs.
"Aye, neither did I." Happy agrees.
"Everyone did hide their cards by the time they knew that they themselves would be hunted as well." Wendy explains.
"I was thinking the same thing, and it's really lame." Killua agrees.
"Aye." Happy raised a paw.
Gon on the other hand is shaking with a little.
"Gon..." Wendy snaps him out of his thinking.
"What?" Gon looks at her.
"Are you happy or are you scared?" Killua smiles and questions.
"It looked to me that you were both happy and scared." Happy states.
Gon thinks about it for a bit before answering, "Yeah, you could say that..." he then tells them his chances, "I wouldn't win in a straight-up fight... I have a real shot if I go and steal his badge, that's what scares me a little... but I think it's worth it."
"Giving it your all is what counts." Wendy touches his shoulder.
"She's right." Killua agrees before getting up, "Let's all do our best."
"Aye." Happy agrees.
"Uh-huh!" Gon happily agrees with them.
An hour later, they arrive at Zevil Island. Khara explains that each examiners will get of the ship in the order they were when clearing third phase. Each person gets off the ship and waits every two minutes for the next person to get off. The examinees will stay on the island for one week to gain 6 points of ID tags. With that said, starting from hisoka and onward, each person got off the ship after every two minutes.
After awhile, Khara calls the next examine, "Welp, here goes nothing." Happy steps forward as it's his turn.
"Be carful out there, happy." Wendy advises.
"Especially since your a cat." Killua adds.
"That's exactly why I'm not gonna engage anybody... well, after I take my targets badge." Happy turns and tells them, "And good luck against that, clown creep, Gon. Wish I could say it was nice knowing you." Happy then runs his small feet off the ship into the forest.
"Sooo cute!" Khara blisses with hearts at happy being cute and all.
Two minutes later, "See ya." Killua waves to Wendy, and Gon.
"Good luck." Wendy waves back and smiles before He heads off the boat.
Two minutes later, "Well, I'm off." Wendy waves at Gon before heading off the ship and he waves back.
Two minutes later, "See you!" Gon sees Leorio off before running off the shipping, having his mind totally set on stealing hisoka's badge.
As the phase begins with every examine hunting one another while being targeted themselves, Wendy is walking around the forest, looking around her surroundings.
"Now... how do I find my target ... " She wonders, "Especially on what that person looks like. This island is pretty wide and my target could be anywhere... I'm also targeted myself so it's best to be careful at the same time."
She then hears the sound of a scream from far off, "! What was that?!" She runs over and goes behind the bushes, peaks out and sees an examine on the ground while his attacker takes the badge from him and was about to walk off until he was targeted himself and got his badge stolen by another attacker.
"Woah... so this is what it means to hunt while being hunted yourself..." Wendy was stunned at the site before backing off and out of the bushes, "This is gonna be hard... but at least I can get much done on my own." She is kinda confident and continues carefully moving forward.
With Happy...
"Aw maaann... being alone like this when getting hunted it the worse." Happy pouts while flying lower, "It's hard finding my target on this wide island." He then hear's a scream from random hunters, which spooks him out, "Yeah... I definitely gotta hurry and find my target, then try not to get caught for the rest of this phase."
While flying a little, an examine jumps right in from of him, about 15 feet's away, number 163, "Alright, Cat! I found you now hand over the badge!" He demands and grins.
"I spoke too soon!" Happy thought dramatically before replying, "So I'm you target, huh. Well I'm not giving you anything!"
"Then we'll do this the hard way, pussycat." #163 takes out a knife.
"Seriously!?" Happy exclaims.
"How about I cut those wings off." #163 grins menacing, leaving happy spooked.
"Well... your gonna have to catch me first, I'm out!" Happy take off to the skies and retreats from him.
"Hey! Get back here!" #163 starts chasing after him on foot.
Meanwhile, with Wendy:
The girl is walking around aimlessly, but of course, she has her up as she's being hunted as well.
"Where could my target be... do I have to search the whole island?" Wendy murmurs to herself, "No... that's take way too long and my target would of been back on the boat by now after taking his target's badge, sigh."
Meanwhile, happy is flying high in the air and seems to have gotten away from his chaser, #163.
"*Phew* I lost him. He can't get me in the air." Happy sighs in relief before looking down and eying wendy thinking to herself.
"Oh? It's wendy!" Happy flies down to where she is, "Wendy!"
She looks up and sees him flying to her, "Huh? Happy!"
"I saw you just walking, and it looked like you were thinking to yourself about something." Happy notices with a question look while flying next to her.
"Yeah... I was just figuring out where my target might be, this island is a little big and I don't know what that person looks like except the card." Wendy explains.
"Oh I get it, I'm still looking for mine too." Happy shares as well.
"Well, since we're not targeting each other, we should stay together and gather ID tags to get 6 points.." Wendy suggested.
"Aye, that's a great idea." Happy raises a paw, "Teaming up will be way easier to get through this."
Wendy happily nods in agreement before they set off and search in various parts of the forest.
30 minutes later in the lake:
"FOUND YOU!" #163 jumps out from the bushes in front of the two whirlpool, holding a knife, "Alright cat, time to hand over that badge."
"Hand over? So does that means he's..." Wendy looks at happy.
"Oh... yeah, I forgot to tell you that I encountered him before finding you. It's clear I'm his target." Happy explains.
"But... how did he know?" Wendy doesn't get it.
"Heheheh, well little girl, I've been keeping watch of every single examines tag number in case something like this was gonna happen." #163 explains, "Well, almost everybody anyway."
"Oh, good observation I gotta admit." Happy days.
"Uh, I don't think it's the time to be impressed." Wendy sweat-drops before turning their attention back on #163.
"Guess, I'll just take both of your badges if that's the case!" #163 runs at them with his knife in hand.
"Uh-oh!"Wendy steps back a little.
"I got ya!" Happy grabs her from the back and flies up, dodging #163 just in time.
"Damn it! Quit flying away and fight!" #163 tells in annoyance.
"We should retreat." Happy suggested, "I know your not the fighting type and I'm not much of a brawler myself either."
"If only I were..." Wendy trailed with a little sadden eyes.
"It's fine, let's go!" Happy then flies both of them away from #163 once more, much to his frustration.
"This isn't over yet!" #163 swears out loud.
"Phew, got away from him again." Happy flies them down, "But if next time he catches us, I doubt we'll get away."
"Your right... If that happens then I'll have to do something." Wendy says, a little determined, "I'm a sky dragon slayer, It's time I fight back."
"Attagirl, that's what I'm talking about." Happy smiles and encourages.
A couple hours later, the sun sets as they were walking quietly in the forest, on alert for hunters:
"It's getting dark, we should find someplace safe to camp." Wendy suggested as they see the sub set.
"Right, especially when there's hunters all over the place taking other badges." Happy agreed, "And we're still being targeted ourselves so that's a plus."
"Some hunters are probably sleeping around this time, so we should be fine for now." Wendy nods before they see a cave, "There's a cave, we should sleep there."
"Aye and... I'm hungry." Happy pats his stomach, "Lucky I still have a couple of fish left in the bag."
"I think I also saw some nuts and berries. Let's collect those before going in the cave." Wendy started walking to get them.
"Aye." Happy follows her.
A few minutes later, they collected plenty of nuts and berries before heading in the cave and setting up camp, eating the nuts and berries(Happy still eats his fish as usual) before going to sleep a couple minutes later.
That was it for this one. Looks like wendy and happy made it through the first day on zevil island, let's see what they do when more hunters are encountered.
