Disclaimer: I do not own Inu yasha or any of the characters in the show. So don't sue! And just a head's up; ppls who likes Kikyou, shouldn't read this fanfic. It's really short but in my opinion its, good.

Kikyou's rejection

She was laying on the ground staring into those beautiful goldish eyes of the half-breed, Inu yasha. "Inu...yasha," She said weakly for her souls were shimmering away, the pursue to kill Inu yasha was over, and she was dying. Inu yasha held her in his arms, staring at her tear stained face. "Inu...ya...sha; will you...you...do me a....fa..favor?" She continued as she reach her hand to touch his handsome face.

"What is it?" He asked gently, slightly moving his head away from her hand, cautious cause of the many time she tried to kill him.

"Will...you..." she paused to take one of last breaths in, "Kiss me...Inu yasha, kiss...me..." She tried to lift herself so she can reach his lips, but Inu yasha kept her down and looked away from her face.

"Kikyou, I'm sorry. But the feeling I had for you are gone. It was the past me that you love, but I'm a different man now." His hold loosen on her slender body.

"I know...but can't you full...full fill a...a...a dying wish?" She asked urgently.

He shooked his head and replied, "I can't my heart...my heart is won by somebody else, one who makes me feel calm and happy. One that I love so dearly..."

Kikyou broke in angrily, "Is it that wench, Kagome!" She said quickly that she gasped for air deeply.

"She isn't a wench, Kikyou." Inu yasha hissed.

Her hand fell from his face and clenched the hems of his kimono, "You silly pup, you just think your in love...she is only my reincarnation, you only love her cause she younger and prettier. Inu yasha, I'll kill you and your bitch!" Her voice getting louder and stronger, as Inu yasha realized that her souls were coming back to her; he held her in a tight hug. Kikyou gave a gasp in pain.

"I'm terribly sorry Kikyou," Inu yasha said as he drew a small dagger from her back, blood dripping from it. "I can't let you hurt Kagome, I know I promised to protect you...but I have to break that promise. I love Kagome, and not you. You need to understand this Kikyou." Inu yasha carried her to a tree and laid her back on it. " I know I did love you but not any more, you changed Kikyou and so did I. We aren't the same people we used to be, and are hearts changed too. I realized that when I'm around Kagome, I know everything will be alright, and that's the truth, so good-bye Kikyou. " Inu yasha turned around a started to walk away...

"Wait Inu yasha, please...don't leave....be near...near me,.....don't wa......wa..wanna....die alone." Tears fell down her cheeks as she begged him not to leave. Inu yasha nodded and sat there next to her in silence. Ten minutes later, Kikyou died and Inu yasha buried her next to the tree that she pined Inu yasha when she killed him.

2 years later

Inu yasha sat on the well, flowers in his hand, "Ready?" Inu yasha turned his head and looked into his wife eyes and to his little daughter. He smiled, got up and kissed her lips gently, "I'm ready, Kagome."

Inu yasha and Kagome, with there baby walked to the tree that was Kikyou's grave. He then laid the flowers on her grave and gave a slight bow, "Rest in peace Kikyou..."
