Chapter 5:
It hadn't been long after the girls had gone into Chloe's room to change into their pj's that the boys had also chosen to change as well. It was t shirts and sweatpants for all the boys aside from Bakugou who had chosen to wear a tank. After they had gotten some soda's and reclaimed their spots on the chairs, they boys started chatting, sending glances toward the room everytime one of them heard a girly squeal.
"How long ya think they're gonna take?" Bakugou asked, sending an impatient glance toward the door.
"They're girls." Nino laughed.
"Plus there are two fashionovas in there. It'll probably be a while." Luka agreed, sipping his drink as he seemed ignorant to the glare the blonde boy was sending him.
Meanwhile, in Chloe's room, Chloe and Kagami were sat on her bright yellow bed as they watched Marinette try the new clothes that Chloe had gotten her. Looking over a thin, pink, silk bathrobe with an expert eye, Marinette kept glancing toward her best friends bedroom door.
"We're not making them wait too long are we?" She asked. "Kacchan has a temper. I'd hate for him to get impatient and break the door down."
"Oh he can have a little patience." Chloe waved a hand and standing on as she grabbed another pink bathrobe, this one with feathers on the ends of the sleeves. "I call this one the 'dead husband' robe."
This robe was a fair amount longer than the one Marinette was currently wearing. She smiled at her blonde friend as she took the robe, eyeing the fabric and how well the feathers were attached.
"I don't have a dead husband, honey." Mari said, grinned at her bestie.
"Not yet anyway." Kagami chimed in, smiling at her friends from her spot sat on Chloes bed.
"Bakugou wouldn't die very easily." Chloe laughed at Marinette's bright red face as she squeaked.
It was a very well kept secret between the three girls of the feelings their bluenette friend had had for her explosive childhood friend. It was partially the reason for why Mari had developed a crush for Adrien when she did, despite how short lived it had been. Adrien lacked that fiery personality that her favorite little pomeranian had. Of course, the fact that he had betrayed her to Lila hadn't helped either.
That was one of Marinette's favorite things about her Kacchan; his unwavering loyalty.
"Keep quiet, honey!" Mari squeaked. "He may hear you."
"Mari, what have I told you about seizing your opportunity?" Kagami asked, standing to join her friends. "He's here. In Paris. Right now. It's the best time to do this."
The bluenette looked down at the fabric in her hands.
"It'd still be too complicated. Even if he did return my feelings. He lives in Japan. He and Deku are going to school to be heroes…" Marinette sighed. "And I live here. With the responsibility of being Ladybug and keeping Paris safe. Especially now that Hawkmoth knows who I am and Chat's gone silent."
Her two friends were silent at her logic.
"And I don't want to hurt our friendship by trying a long distance relationship that might or might not work. I care about him too much to do that to him." Marinette gave her friends a sad smile. "I've got plenty to keep my mind busy. I don't need to date anyone at all right now."
"Aww, bug!" Chloe gushed, wrapping her friend in a hug. "We love you!"
Kagami smiled and joined the hug as Mari wrapped her arms around her girl friends.
"That's very Ladybug of you." Kagami said softly.
"If you don't want us to try anything for you with Bakugou, we won't. This'll just be a fun weekend." Chloe said as the two girls pulled out of the hug.
"They're only here for the weekend, right?" Marinette asked, taking off the silk robe and tossing it on the bed.
"Yeah, Deku agreed that it'd have to be a short trip since we both have school." The blonde agreed. "But that just means that we'll have to have even more fun while they're here! Starting with our new dead husband robes!"
Pulling out a red one and a yellow one, Chloe grinned as her friends laughed and took theirs.
Not me over here gushing over the idea of owning a dead husband robe.
