Disclaimer: I do not own SGC or any of the characters mentioned below.

Author's note: Ok ok, this is my first SG fic and I might not have everything right but I hope you can bear it because I just wanted to jot this idea down before I went to bed. Please be gentle, for I am a newbie.

How Many Times?

Setting: At the SGC in Daniel Jackson's office

Jack was sitting down, slowly swiveling back and forth. Boxes littered the office. Artifacts and books were scattered everywhere, not to mention the dust. He looked at his two team members.

"I don't think we should be doing this for Daniel anymore," Jack said aloud.

Sam looked up from an old journal that was lying on Doctor Jackson's desk and dropped it in a nearby box, "He's gone, sir. I mean, we have to. It's just the right thing to do."

Jack looked at Teal'c.

"I agree with Major Carter."

Jack sighed. It was two against one. What could he do? But then again, odds never mattered to him anyway.

"Hey, remember that time Daniel dropped his keys on that one creepy jungle planet?" he said, trying to lighten up the mood.

"He didn't even know it was missing until a week later. It drove him crazy, but that's beside the point," Sam replied and paused, "It was pretty funny though..."

"See???"

Teal'c raised his eyebrow, "I do not think Doctor Jackson would appreciate us talking about him in this way. After all, he is not with us."

"He wants to be remembered this way. That's why he does the things he does!"

Sam rolled her eyes, "C'mon, sir! It's the least we could do for him."

"But I'm sick of it! It's happened to him five or six times this week already—I can't even keep track of it! I don't even know how the guy does it!"

"He doesn't do it intentionally. He has other... more important things to think about, sir."

She grabbed her jacket and waited at the door. Jack looked affronted and glanced at Teal'c to back him up.

"I believe we owe it to Daniel Jackson," Teal'c began, "to deliver his forgotten apartment keys."

Sam smiled triumphantly, "Lets go Colonel."

She walked out the door, followed by Teal'c.

Jack jumped up, "We were supposed to teach him a lesson! For crying out—I'm gonna drive real slow!"

With that, he ran off to join the other two.

Author's Note (Yet again): Hello! Sorry to bother you again (and after reading the fic, I'm sure you want to be anything but bothered...) I just wanted to add that his story was inspired by something my brother did (like forgetting his house keys and being locked out of his house). Happy Fanfic Reading!
