Chapter 3: A New Weapon

Alexei came back to camp after a long day at school and walked straight to the forges, before yelling, "BORIS!" Boris walked over and asked, "Да?" Alexei asked him, "Do you have our new weapon?" Boris nodded and pulled a tarp off of an object. It was a MiG-41. Boris then pulled the tarps off of two more objects. The first a T-14 Armata, Russia's newest MBT, and an IS-7. Alexei smiled and said, "Soon our enemies will crumble and bow to the glory of communism and the glorious motherland." Boris smiled as well and covered them back up. He said, "We're expecting the IS-7s and the MiG-41s to be ready in large quantities soon. But the T-14? That will take longer." Alexei told him, "Just get it done. We have enough tanks...for now." Boris nodded.

At Brooklyn House

Sadie was sitting on the sofa, thinking, when Jaz, Shelby, and Zia sat down beside her. Jaz asked, "Everything okay, Sadie?" Sadie, "You could say so. I just met a boy that I like." Shelby told her, "Then ask him out." Sadie said, "It's not that simple." Zia countered, "Yes it is." Jaz said, "Guys, let her take it at her own pace." Sadie smiled at Haz and said, "Thanks." Jaz smiled back. Sadie got up and told them, "I'll ask him out." She then left to find Alexei. After walking for around an hour, she decided to check the school.

At the Brooklyn Academy for the Gifted (BAG)

Alexei, and a few other soviet soldiers were inside BAG's gymnasium, with a Asian man in blue robes ied in a chair. Alexei was reading a file and said, "It is very simple, comrade. This file is your current weapons inventory that your men completed. Now, when my men counted the amount of weapons that was inside, they only found 20 pieces of weaponry. Where did the rest go?" The man said, "I don't know." Sadie heard voices coming from the gymnasium and listened in. She heard Alexei say, "Listen Ming, I will not be made a fool of by a bald Chinese fuck." The man looked St him and told Alexei, "My name's Kwai and I'm Korean." Sadie's eyes widened and she thought to herself, 'Didn't Walt and Anubis kill Kwai?' Alexei grabbed a thick math textbook and slammed it across Kwai's face, knocking some of Kwai's teeth out. He told him, "I didn't ask for your nationality, I asked about the missing weapons!" Kwai once again told him, "I don't know!" Alexei was getting fed up and told the soldiers, "Waterboard him. I'll be in the hall. Get me when you think he's ready to talk." The soldiers nodded. He walked outside into the hallway and saw Sadie standing behind the door. He looked at her and she sheepishly said, "Hi." Alexei asked her, "What are you doing here?" Sadie looked down and said, "Looking for you." Alexei asked, "Why? Some people shouldn't be looked for." Sadie said, "I know, but I wanted to know if you wanted to go on a date with me." Alexei told her, "All we know about each other is our names." Sadie told him, "I know, but I want to get to know you better. And if possible, see how you work." Alexei looked at her for a moment and said, "This one interrogation. That's it." Sadie nodded, and they walked back inside the gymnasium. Kwai was panting and his head soaking wet. Alexei asked, "Ready to talk, comrade?" Kwai spit towards Akexei's feet. Alexei looked at one of the soldiers and nodded. The soldier nodded back and grabbed a sharp and hot knife. Kwai was starting to get scared. The soldiers walked up to him and started skinning his whole arm down the whole length, as Kwai screamed in pain, begging them to stop. The soldier threw Kwai's arm skin into a deep large rectangular, plastic bin.

Sadie almost threw up at the scene. She asked him, "How can you do this?" Alexei told her, "I've done and seen worse. This is mere child's play. It'll get a lot worse for him...if he doesn't talk." Kwai looked at Alexei with pleading eyes and said, "I'll talk! I'll talk! Just make it end, please!" Alexei smiled and told him, "Go ahead. Where are the missing weapons?" Kwai said, "Some new Russian recruits were ordered to St. Petersburg. The Winter Palace." Alexei asked, "By who?" Kwai said, "I don't know." Alexei nodded and another soldier took a rusty dull knife and cut Kwai's balls and cock before throwing in the bin, while Kwai was screaming in pain. He yelled, "Menshikov! Vladimir Menshikov!" Alexei asked, "What do we have on comrade Menshikov?"

A soldier opened a file and said, "His family served Peter the Great, has deep capitalist and imperialist ties, his family has managed to survive comrade Lenin's and comrade Stalin's purges, mostly by giving names of people who depending on them, and during comrade Lenin's leadership, infiltrated the house where the tsar was being held and killed the Romanovs. Basically by betraying the motherland, and betraying the revolution. Personally, I would've had his ancestors shot." Alexei said, "So would I. Tell me, what weapons have you acquired. Because your list is very vague. It just says what types of weapons, but no names." Kwai gulped and said, "MP40s, Lee-Enfields, some wands and staffs, Colt 1911s, nothing armored. We're trying to infuse them with magic." Alexei said, "That's all I need." He pulled out his pistol and shot Kwai in the head and told his men, "Burn the body and report what we got to headquarters. I'm sure our dear comrades will be pleased with our findings." The soldiers nodded and did what they were ordered to do.

Alexei told another soldier, "Find comrade Menshikov and bring him to me." The soldier nodded and went to do as he was ordered. Sadie and Alexei walked outside and Sadie threw up on the ground. She told him, "There's no way in hell you did worse things than that." Alexei said, "Believe what you will." Sadie cleaned her mouth and jogged to catch up with Alexei. She walked beside him and after a while, she grabbed him and gave him a deep kiss on the lips. Alexei looked at her surprised and gently broke it. Sadie thought to herself, 'Did I really get over Walt and Anubis that quickly?' The two of them just looked at each other. Sadie asked, "S-see you next time?" Alexei nodded and left. She just looked at him and went home.

When she arrived home, she heard Amos yell from the kitchen, "Sadie, can you come to the kitchen for a moment?!" Sadie yelled back, "Sure!" She went to the kitchen and asked, "What's up?" She saw Carter and Bast with Amos along with her mom and dad, who she ran up and hugged. From a corner came two men and Sadie instantly recognized them. She asked, "Desjardins? Iskandar?" Iskandar smiled and said, "Hello my dear. You're becoming quite the woman and magician as well." Sadie asked, "Aren't you two supposed to be...you know, dead?" Desjardins said, "Yes, but it would seem that there is a far stronger force at play here then just Apophis."

Amos said, "Onto why I called Sadie here. I want you to stop seeing that boy that you went to see." Sadie screamed, "WHAT?! WHY?!" Amos told her, "Because he's Greek, dangerous, and I don't trust him." Sadie yelled, "YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HIM!" Carter told her, "Sadie, we saw him torture and kill Kwai. Yes, we had our problems with Kwai before but that doesn't mean that he deserves what happened to him." Sadie yelled at Carter, "OH GO FUCK YOURSELF, CARTER! WHY DON'T YOU EVER TAKE MY SIDE?!" Amos yelled, "ENOUGH!" He told Sadie, "If you won't listen to me, then I'll have the gods keep you two separated." Ruby (Carter and Sadie's mom) intervened, saying, "Amos, be reasonable. I understand that you want to protect Carter and Sadie, and so do Julius and I; but it's wrong to pass judgement on someone without getting to know them or their story first. As chief lector you should know that."

Amos said, "But Rub-" Ruby cut him off saying, "No buts. He's coming to dinner and that's the end of that conversation. Sadie tell him that he can invite some of his friends as well, over if he wants." Sadie hugged Ruby and said, "Thanks mom." Bast said, "While I did feel a strong energy coming from him, he doesn't seem like a big threat. Or the kind of person to do something without being cautious and thinking about it first." Amos asked, "Julius, aren't you against this? You know Manhattan has different gods." Julius told Amos, "While I do know that, I also know how scary and dangerous my wife can be. So I'm siding with her on this." Everyone left the kitchen except for Sadie and Iskandar. Iskandar sat down beside Sadie and told her, "I know what it's like to be in love.Even though it may not seem like it." Sadie told him, "I honestly don't know what to do."

Iskandar tols her, "My first love was a Roman girl called, Julia. Julius Caesar's daughter. However she had gone back to Rome when I had decided to confess my feelings to her. (A/N: This part is historically inaccurate, as Julia had actually died while Caesar was returning from Gaul during childbirth, giving birth to her and Pompey Magnus' son. However for the sake of the story that didn't happen.) Later I found out that she was married off and eventually died in childbirth. I was grief stricken and stuck with the house of life." Sadie asked him, "What's the point of this story?" Iskandar told her, "The point is that you have to follow your heart and do what you think is right, even if it isn't." Sadie smiled and said, "Thank you." Iskandar smiled back, and she gave him a hug. Sadie said, "Sometimes it feels like no one understands me." Iskandar told her, "Everyone feels that way at some point in their lives. It's natural. Now, go and invite this boy. I want to see what he's like." Sadie smiled and nodded before walking off. She went to set up the dining room table and texted her friends, Liz and Emma, and later called her grandparents to come and meet Alexei. They happily and excitedly said yes and packed their bags for the next flight to Brooklyn.

They arrived early the next day and Ruby went to pick them up (since Sadie's grandparents hate Carter and Sadie's dad).

Meanwhile at BAG

Sadie hugged Alexei from behind and said, "Good morning." Alexei told her, "Good morning." Sadie told him, "My family invited you over to our place for dinner. With a couple of your friends if you want." Alexei nodded and grabbed his textbooks. After 3 hours of classes, it was lunchtime and Ruby decided to surprise Sadie with a surprise visit from her, Liz, and Emma. Sadie was sitting with Alexei and his friends, when Liz and Emma, hug her from behind. Liz said, "Hey Sadie!" Sadie turned around and hugged them back. They broke the hug and sat down beside her. One of Alexei's friends said, "I don't undestand, why they would go for Volgograd to cut of the Volga river. They could easily do that at any point along the Volga.", While looking at a map. He moved some mini flags and said, "Personally, I would go for Ulyanovsk and send one army group up to Tver, cutting off St. Petersburg, Moscow, Ryazan, and Penza from the industrial heartlands. Then I'd a second army group down the Volga to take Astrakhan and take control of the black sea and the Turkish straits, securing a path into the Aegean sea." Alexei said, "That would mean taking the sea of Marmara, Boris." Boris nodded and said, "Exactly comrade, but the Turks can't be trusted." Alexei told him, "The Turks will cave in easily. One hit from the Red Army and they will crumble. But the Turks aren't a problem currently."

Liz asked, "What are you guys doing?" Alexei simply said, "Organizing the defence of the motherland." Liz said, "Oh." The way Alexei said it, made it sound like this was something that people did every day. Another one of Alexei's friends, lit a cigarette and started to smoke, when a teacher walked up to him and said, "You can't smoke in here." Alexei's friend told her, "Maybe if you suck my cock, I'll put it out." Alexei said, "Или ты просто продолжишь дымить как труба, Иван. (Or you'll just continue smoking like a chimney, Ivan.)" Alexei and his friends laughed as the teacher walked off. Akexei switched maps and said, "The biggest problem would be defending Manhattan if we head on an offensive campaign.

Yuri, Alexei's third friend said, "The problem is that the area that we have to defend is surrounded by water and and bridges. We'd need to get at least 500,000 troops to secure the whole island and then blow the bridges to slow the enemy down. Even then, we run the risk of a naval invasion and amphibious assault from all sides and we don't have a navy to prevent that, and we can't just build coastal artillery all around the island without raising suspicion." Alexei said, "Fuck. This'll be hard. In addition to the enemy advancing even closer to Moscow, it makes our position for victory almost impossible." Boris said, "It doesn't help that the enemy assembled over a million troops and sent them to Moscow." Alexei said, "Then we do the same. Execute order 227. No step back. Moscow won't fall. We defend it at all costs, and fight to the last dying breath." Alexei's friends nodded and packed up the maps and a group of 5 boys walked in, wearing green uniforms with blue stripes on the pants. Yuri said, "Here's the NKVD."

The five boys walked upto them and said, "Comrades, you are to report to Kiev." Boris said, "How about we don't?" One of the 5 boys said, "Then you'll be beaten." Alexei and his friends stood up and cocked their guns. Alexei told them, "You can try, but you won't live to survive." One of the boys went to punch Alexei, only for Alexei to shoot him, hitting his liver. When the boy fell to the ground and started bleeding out, Alexei walked over and stepped on the wound, adding pressure and causing him to bleed out faster. Alexei nodded at his friends and the rest of the 5 boys were gunned down, as everyone looked at Alexei and his friends, from under the tables. Alexei told them, "You all saw nothing, do you understand?" Everyone nodded in fear. (Nothing more American than a school shooting, huh?)

Alexei and his friends walked out with Sadie, Liz, Emma, and Ruby following closely behind.
