The next morning Jess and Derek were woken by Melissa entering the room. In her hands she carried a serving tray holding a kettle of hot water, three mugs, a plate stacked with cookies, milk, sugar, instant coffee, tea bags, and hot chocolate mix. Setting the tray on the nightstand Melissa smiled down at the cuddling pair. "Jess needs to eat before she takes her pills and I think that we ALL needs to have a talk." Pointing to the tray she sat down on one of the rooms two chairs and told them. "Pick your poison." Glancing towards the open door she said loudly. "I meant it when I said ALL of us Scott. You need to get in here."

Shifting around in the bed Derek repositioned himself so that he was sitting up against the head board. With his knees pulled up against his chest and one arm wrapped around his legs he was the picture of innocence. "Yeah Scott, we should talk. Don't worry. I'm not going to bite." Derek called grinning towards the door.

Snorting from her seat on the edge of the bed preparing herself a mug of tea Jess reached back and swatted Derek's arm. "Behave!" Picking up a second mug she looked at all the options on the tray. "What's your poison?" She jokingly asked.

"Hot chocolate." Derek replied still grinning.

Jess started to make a mug of hot chocolate before she paused. "Wait...are you saying that's what you want or that's what you don't want?"

From the doorway Scott gasped and suddenly started coughing and sputtering staring in horror at the mug of hot chocolate he had been drinking.

Burying his head in his arms Derek howled with laughter. "It's fine, it's what I want to drink." He gasped through his peals of laughter. Finally managing to get his laughter under control Derek wiped his face with his eyes and slowly leaned back against the headboard smiling softly at Jess.

Slowly walking into the room Scott settled down on the chair by the desk and asked hesitantly. "So, you don't have any kind of allergy...to chocolate, or grapes, or xylotol or anything?" He asked.

Melissa turned to stare at Scott with her mouth hanging open in shock. "Scott! She snapped. Did you just imply that Derek is a dog? What's the matter with you? We are in here trying to make peace, not start a feud!"

On the bed both Jess and Derek were clinging to one another laughing so hard tears were streaming from their eyes. "Frankly, I've always considered myself more of a wolf if I'm being honest." Derek said seriously when the laughing fit had ended and Jess was handing him his drink.

"Enough!" Jess scolded firmly settling against the headboard with her mug of tea. The four people sat quietly sipping their drinks until Jess's alarm went off telling her to take her pills. Carefully pulling just the antibiotics out of the case and leaving the pain pills Jess swallowed them with a few sips of tea. Setting down her tea Jess grabbed a handful of cookies and handing half of them to Derek she ate the few she was holding in a few quick bites per cookie. "Now, are we going to address the elephant in the room or just continue with the world's most awkward tea party?"

Scott hunched forwards in his chair scowling down at his hands. "We found a body, so we called the police. We did what we were supposed to do." He muttered angrily towards his hands. "I had no control over what the police did once they found the body."

Arching a single eyebrow Jess pulled her phone from it's place hidden in her sling. "So you would be happy for me to open all these unread texts I got from you and Stiles yesterday and read them out loud to everyone in the room."

Looking up Scott paled "No!...don't read them out loud!" Slouching down miserably in his chair Scott looked up at Jess with big shining puppy dog eyes. "You really haven't read them yet?" He said his voice tinged with hope. "Then you could just delete them all unread." He said eagerly. Slumping in his seat he gave a huge sigh. "We both said some really stupid things and we really regret saying them or even thinking them."

"I think that would be a wonderful idea." Melissa chimed from her seat across the room. "Delete the messages and put this whole mess behind us so that Jess can rest up to get ready for her first day back at school tomorrow." She said brightly smiling at everyone in the room.

On the bed Jess froze and stared at Melissa in shock. "No, not already? Can't I get more time? I'm not recovered enough yet...I haven't been shopping yet for more clothes. I haven't studied. I don't even have my books yet to start studying." Jess babbled in a panic.

Reaching up Derek put his arm around the slightly panicked teen. "Shhhh, it's going to be fine. I'll go shopping and get a bag, pens, binder, paper and all those other things kids need for school. I can also grab a few things for you to wear. I'll just take a list of your sizes and favorite colors and a picture of you and will pick the best dressed of the cashiers and ask her for help picking things." Smiling a bit too happily at Jess's horror at the idea of school he turned to Melissa. "I'm sure Melissa can help you get your hair washed and fixed up when she changes the bandages on your arm?" The statement came out sounding more like a question.

Smiling at the young man Melissa nodded. Happy that there was another adult to help wrangle the panicking teen. Even if he was a very young adult. "I just need to grab a bag from my room first. Then we can get you in the bathtub to soak and relax while Derek does your shopping and Scott goes to work." Melissa said trying not to let on how excited she was to have a young girl to dress up for once.

"Let me get a few pictures of her first." Derek said scrambling out of the bed and pulling his phone from the duffel bag on the floor.

Groaning loudly Jess pulled a blanket over her head and flopped down onto the bed. "Nooooo" She groaned. "I'm not ready for school." Faking a cough she wailed pitifully. "I am too weak..."

"And injured." Scott called helpfully from his seat near the door smiling at the girl's antics. "Don't forget your awful injuries."

"Yes!" Jess cried sitting bolt upright and pointing at Scott. "Like he said! I am horribly injured. You can't send me to school like this. I may collapse." Suddenly Jess was blinded by a few bright flashes. Squealing Jess dove back under the blankets. "Save me Lancelot." She cried launching the stuffed wolf in Derek's general direction.

Catching the wolf effortlessly Derek set it down on top of the dresser and started to dig through the drawers making a list on his phone of the sizes he found on things.

Peaking out from under the blankets and seeing the stuffed wolf sitting atop the dresser as if helping Derk she scowled. "Traitor!" She hissed disappearing back under the covers. A few moments later she huffed as the covers were pulled off of her by a grinning Derek.

"Favorite colors?" He asked handing her the stuffed wolf and sitting on the edge of the bed with his phone ready to take notes. When Jess didn't reply he sighed. "Ok...guess I'll just have to default to typical girl colors of pink and purple..."

"Not if you ever expect the clothes to be worn by me." Jess growled hugging the stuffed wolf close. "Dark colors, black, grey, dark blue, dark green, and maybe if the shade is just right, some dark purple." Jess muttered. "NOTHING, that is artificially distressed. I hate when people buy clothes with fake worn out knees and elbows. Sweaters with elbow patches are allowed though." Jess paused to think a moment. "Nothing that will restrict my movement, and nothing showing cleavage, not for at school at least." Sighing heavily Jess set the wolf down on the bed and rolled until she could reach her nightstand, wincing each time her bad arm was rolled over. Pulling out her wallet she pulled out a large stack of bills and held it out to Derek. "What ever that will get me. Remember less pants and shorts since they can be rotated with several different shirts to completely change the look of an outfit. And I will need a pair or two of decent shoes that match somewhat with what you get but that I can still run in." Shaking the hand holding the bills a few times Jess continued to hold it out towards Derek.

Glancing at the bills Derek scoffed. "You're cute if you think I plan to let you pay for any of this."

Jess frowned sitting up and trying to force the bills into Derek's hand. "You were squatting in an abandoned house. Take the money."

Shoving the money away Derek scowled. "I stayed there by choice. Not by necessity. I have plenty of money."

Scott suddenly chimed up from his seat.

"Yeah, he has a brand new Camaro, so he must have a good bit of money." Getting to his feet he turned and headed for the door. "Oh, and Jess. Anne sends her love. She has been searching around through the clinic constantly. Dr. Deaton thinks she is looking for you."

Frowning at Scott's comment Jess peeled off the sling and pulled off her sweater. Balling it up she tossed it to Scott. "See if that calms her down." She said just as Melissa entered the room with two large bags. Turning from the underdressed girl to her son holding the girl's sweater she frowned.

"Do I want to know why you are giving Scott your clothes?" Melissa asked watching as Scott saw the time on his watch and took off down the stairs at a run.

Scrolling through her phone Jess pulled up a picture Dr. Deaton had taken and sent to her of Jess sitting in a computer chair trying to type while Anne sat firmly on her lap staring at the computer with a matching look of concentration on her face and showed it to Melissa. "Apparently Raggedy Anne has been restless the past few days acting like she is searching for something. I sent my sweater to see if it would calm her down." Sighing Jess stared sadly at the picture. "Poor thing is a stray that got hit and left on the road for dead the day I went to the clinic to ask about a job. World's weirdest job interview. I started treating her because the vet wasn't there and when he go there he just stood and watched and had me finish treating her. When I was done he hired me on the spot. I was looking after her since. Well, I looked after her up until the Incident happened and I got hospitalized and shunted back into the system." Sighing heavily Jess stared at the picture a moment longer before shutting off her phone and forcing a smile. "I'm sure the boys at the clinic are looking after her."

Standing up suddenly Derek took the money from Jess and shoved it in his pocket then dropped a kiss on her head and simply said. "I'llbe back. Behave. " Before her pulled his phone from his pocket and started typing as he left the room.

Staring after the young man in confusion Jess turned to Melissa. "Any idea what they was about?" Jess asked.

"No clue." Melissa replied stepping forward and starting to remove the bandages for Jess's arm. "We still can't get this wet so I think a bath is your best bet for getting clean. Then I can help you wash your hair in the sink." Glancing at her phone that had gone off a few times in quick succession Melissa froze and bit her lip for a moment glancing at Jess before typing a moment and hitting send.

Two hours later Jess had scrubbed herself until she was pink and Melissa had worked her magic on Jess's hair so it fell in gentle ringlets. Wearing a loose sports bra that had adjustable straps to do it up and a pair of skin tight bicycle shorts Jess was standing infront of her closet flipping anxiously through the few items hanging there. "I do not have a single appropriate thing to wear to school. I have zero options." Jess groaned in a panic.

Suddenly the door opened and Derek strolled into the room weighed down with so many shopping bags he could barely fit through the door. "You want options. I got option." Handing a few of the bags to Melissa as she walked past and headed out of the room he carried the rest over and placed them on the bed. "Dig in. Anything you don't like I can return later."

Another two hours had passed and Jess was still wearing only the bike shorts and bra. Every surface in the room was covered in clothes and shoes were lined up along the edge of the bed. Derek had long since given up trying to offer opinions and had grabbed Jess's phone and snapping a few pictures of the clothes piled around the room he sent a text to Scott.

Send help! I think I broke Jess by giving her too many options to choose from.

Hitting send Derek laid down on one end of the bed, pulling his leather jacket over his head to block out the sunlight. "Wake me when you want me opinion." He muttered from under the jacket.

"Now I have too many choices!" Jess groaned collapsing in the desk chair and groaning. An hour later she hadn't managed to decide anything but every piece of clothing had been looked over and moved around several times. A soft knock on the door was the only warning Jess got before Scott and Stiles came waltzing into the room. Seeing that Jess was wearing practically nothing both boys turned beat red and reached to cover the other boys eyes. "Oh grow up!" Jess laughed. "I'm more covered then if I was wearing a bikini."

An angry voice spoke from under the jacket on the bed. "You better not ever let me catch you wearing a bikini." Derek growled. "Did you boys bring help or just come to stare at her like a pair of nitwit?"

Blushing beat red the boys both turned to look at the clothes spread all around the room in shock. "Yeah" Stiles drawled. "I think that this job calls for professionals." Turning to Scott he commanded "Make the call Scott! Then while we wait for reinforcements you guys can give Jess her surprise." Slapping a hand over his mouth he turned to stare at the lump on the bed in fear.

Scott shook his head ruefully while he snapped a few pictures of the room and sent a text on his phone. "Way to keep a secret Stiles." Scott said continuing to try and avoid looking at Jess.

Sitting up in the chair Jess looked around the room eagerly. "Suprise? What suprise?"

"Well" a voice drawled from the doorway. "If you will put on a robe so the poor boys don't have a stroke. I will bring your surprise to you." Melissa said holding out a soft, thick robe and a pair of slippers.

Taking the slippers and robe Jess quickly put them on and turned to Melissa. "Ok. I'm covered. The boys can stop staring at the floor. What's my suprise?" Pausing Jess frowned thinking of the bags Derek had handed Melissa earlier. "It isn't more clothes is it? I can't choose from what I already have."

"Nope." Derek said from the bed. Slowly sitting up he laid his coat beside him and smiled at Jess. "Scott and I banned together to convince Melissa that you were missing an important item needed to complete your recovery." Walking up behind Jess he reached around her and covered her eyes with his hand. "No peaking." Derek whispered in her ear resting his chin on her shoulder.

A few whispers and the sound of people moving around then silence. Derek's phone chimed and seemingly for no reason Scott let out a piercing whistle. The clattering of nails on wood and the steady thumbing sound of an animal running was all the warning Jess got before she was taken out at the knees by 40 pounds of hyperactive, red merle, Australian Shephered. Collapsing in a giggling heap on the floor Jess was swamped by the whining, yapping, frantically happy dog.

"Raggedy Anne!" Jess cried happily throwing her arms around the wiggling dog. "Oh precious girl I missed you so much!" She cooed burying her face in the dogs long fur. Looking up at Melissa and Scott she smiled. "Thank you so much for letting her come for a visit. How long is she staying? Did you bring some food for her or is it just a short visit? She looks like she has lost weight. Never mind. I am sure there is something in the treat basket she can safely eat." Turning to Derek she gestured to the basket buried under clothes on her desk. "Can you find her something?" Jess gushed all in a single breath.

Standing up Derek stepped into the hall and came back carrying the bags from earlier and a gigantic, fake leather dog bed. Carrying the things into the room he dropped the dog bed in the corner of the room and pulled out a pair of dog bowls. Pulling out a small bag of dog food and filling the first bowl to the top he carried the bowls to the bathroom. Filling the second one with water from the tap Derek placed both bowls down beside the sink. Returning to the bedroom he watched with a smile as Scott pulled a dog tag from his pocket.

Walking over Scott handed Jess the new tag while he bagan to remove the old one.

Confused why they had printed a second name tag for Raggedy Anne Jess flipped the tag over and gasped to see her phone number and the McCall's address on the back of the tag. Clutching it tightly in her left hand she wrapped her right arm around the dog and hid her face in the dogs neck shoulders shaking while she hid her tears.

Recoiling from the sobbing girl Scott backed up to stand over by Stiles.

"Um...why is she crying? I thought she loved and missed the dog? Now she owns the dog. I don't understand why there are tears." Stiles said sounding worried and confused.

Striding forwards Derek tugged the new tag from Jess's hand and attached it to the dogs collar. Sitting on the floor beside Jess he wrapped his arm around her and the dog and just held her while she cried looking slightly concerned at how hard she was crying. "I would say happy tear." Derek began hesitantly. "But I didn't think those were normally so...loud..."

Scoffing at the room full of males Melissa shook her head. "Seriously? After the week this girl has had you are going to be act surprised when she gets a little emotional? Just let her cry for a bit and she will feel much better." Turning to leave the room she paused and said over her shoulder. "I am glad you liked your welcome home present. It was the boys idea. Call me if you need me." Waving to the boys she headed downstairs to watch some TV. She had done enough parenting for the day.

A short while later found Jess sitting on the dog bed with Anne on her lap looking around at all the clothes trying to decide what to wear. She was practically hidden by the bed with its mound if clothes. Derek was back on the bed with his jacket once more covering his head. Scott and Stiles were crowded around Jess's desk setting up all her electronics and making random suggestions about which of the clothes they thought she should wear. A tentative knock at the open door heralded the arrival of two teenage girls, one of whom Jess had met a few long days ago.

"Hi Scott." Allison said softly walking into the room. "Your mom let us in and told us to come up here. Your text said you had a wardrobe emergency and needed help from a fashion savy female teenager? And we were shopping when I got the text so we thought we would both come over to help. I hope that was alright."

Gasping in shock Stiles grabbed Scott and shook him looking past Allison to the red head standing behind her. "Lydia! Lydia Scott! She brought Lydia!" He whispered excitedly.

Pushing off Stiles hands Scott scrambled to his feet and met Allison with a warm smile. "Yeah of course. Thanks for coming. We have a bit of an emergency. We need an outfit picked out for school tomorrow." He said motioning to the room filled to bursting with clothes.

Stalking forwards to the pile of shoes lined up along the bed and studying the clothes spread around the room Allisom turned to Scott and drawled. "Well it's easy to see what the problem you're having is Scott. These..." Gesturing around the room she continued "...are women's clothes...bold of you to consider but I just don't think you could pull it off."

"I don't know." Lydia drawled. "I've always found Scott to be very feminine. I bet he could pull it off."

"What! No!" Scott cried. "The clothes belongs to my foster sister Jess. She starts school tomorrow and can't decide what to wear. She couldn't find anything in what she already had so her foster brother went shopping and came back with most of this and it just made it harder for her to pick something." Smiling winningly at the girl's he continued. "So we decided to call in the experts."

Allison and Lydia exchanged a look and a nod and turned to face Scott. "Smart move Scott." Lydia praised. "We got here just in time. Any later and we wouldn't have had a chance at finding something before school starts tomorrow." Glancing around the room she frowned. "Who ever this other brother is he has wonderful taste. But I need to see the person I am dressing if you want me to be able to dress them properly."

"Thanks." A smug voice chirped from underneath the jacket on the bed. Causing both girls to jump.

"Please don't antagonize the Fashion Savy Teens, brother of mine." Jess begged from the corner making the girl's jump again. Carefully sliding Anne off her lap Jess slowly and painfully hauled herself to her feet by clinging to the dresser. Standing in a bathrobe and slippers with her hair flying every which way Jess smiled at the girls. "Thank you so much for coming. I am terrible at choosing outfits and have been moving around so much I didn't have much to choose from. Then brother dear went on a shopping spree and now I have TOO much and I just can't choose." Turning to look at Allison Jess added. "Oh, and it is nice to see you again Allison."

Finally seeming to recognize that the teen standing uncertainly before her was the same assured young women she had met a few days ago Allison stared at her in shock. "When did you become Scott's foster sister?" She asked staring back and forth between Scott and Jess.

"Long story." Derek quipped from the bed. "You should ask your dad. He knows the details." Derek growled darkly.

Paling Jess spun and stated at the bed. "Whose father?" Turning back she stared from a confused looking Allison to a nervous looking Scott. "Allison's father knows the details of the Incident? Why? Is he a deputy at the police station?" Jess guessed. Frowning as Scott winced and shook his head. "Will someone tell me what is going on?" She begged.

"Yeah Scott. Why not introduce your friend's properly. You know. Give last names." Derek growled softly from the bed.

Lydia stepped forwards with a frown. "What Incident? When did Scott get a Foster sister? Why is HER foster brother hiding under a coat on the bed? I thought we were here to pick an outfit."

"Yeah Lydia Martin. You are correct as usual." Stiles chimed. "So why don't you and your good friend Allison ARGENT go right ahead and do that? And leave the boring other details to be sorted out and talked about later." Picking up a armful of clothes he held them up and cooed "Look, clothes!"

Looking back and forth from Allison to Scott and occasionally towards the jacket covered figure on the bed Jess shook her head slowly in disbelief. "I am fates bitch." She muttered darkly before turning and plastering a large fake smile to her face she addressed the two girls. "My brother had a rough night so after he got me new clothes he decided to steal some space on my bed for a nap. The jacket is to keep the sun out of his eyes. The Incident is not something I want to talk about. It was bad and led to people discovering I had lied about my age and was still a minor. So I needed a Foster home. Melissa McCall is my personal hero who offered me her spare room and was even kind enough to let me keep the dog I recently adopted." Jess said pointing at the dog bed where Anne lounged happily. "I need help picking an outfit because I suck at it and there are some complications to what I can and can't wear easily right now. Because of the Incident."

Lydia turned to Jess and frowned at the bulky bathrobe. "I can't help you choose an outfit until I get a better look at you. Boys leave so we can get to work." She ordered bossily. Seeing Jess starting to untie her robe both boys turned and rushed out of the room closing the door behind them. Turning to the last male in the room Lydia cleared her throat loudly.

"There is some mints in the snack basket if you have a tickle in your throat." Derek joked from his spot on the bed.

"You need to leave." Lydia ordered bossily.

"Not gonna happen. Just pretend like I'm not here." Derek muttered sleepily.

Turning to Jess to ask how to make the boy leave Lydia was shocked to see her carelessly shrug off her robe. Seeing the shocked impression Jess looked down at herself then back at Lydia. "What? All the important bits are covered. I would be more exposed in a bikini and no one freaks out about a girl being around a guy in a bikini."

"No bikinis!" Derek murmered sleepily.

Smiling fondly at the man Jess used the robe like a blanket to tuck him in agreeing softly. "Yeah, yeah, I know. No bikinis."

Picking up her sling Jess held it up to show Lydia. "We also have to work around this." She grumbled. "I tried to go without it today and my arm is killing me and I haven't even done anything with my arm yet. I am definitely going to have to wear it to school tomorrow."

Swallowing Lydia nodded slowly. "Yeah, of course we will just have to work around that then. It is black so it will go with anything except a different shade of black. So that all gives us a few guidelines to use as we begin sorting." Looking at the bruises covering Jess left arm, neck, legs, and back, and the bandaged upper left arm she nodded again. "Nothing short sleeved or low cut. Turtle necks could be an option..."

Turning Jess pulled open her top drawer and showed her wide selection of scarves. "We have lots of options for neck coverage."

Stepping up to the dresser Allison and Lydia looked at the scarves in every shade of the rainbow and some in-between. "Well that makes things a lot easier. " Allison said smiling at Jess. "Just long sleeved with a high back then. Looking down at the bruises on her legs she continues. "Lightweight legging with a high backed long-sleeved blouse or short dress could work. Add a scarf and no one will have any idea."

The three girls quickly started putting away anything that didn't match what they were looking for until all the was left was the long-sleeved options and leggings. Another hour passed before they had all agreed on the outfit.

Tight black leggings, hunter Green ankle boots, a white turtleneck, wide black belt, and a hunter green scarf. Hanging it carefully inside the closet Jess sat on the floor and leaned back against the bed. The two other girls had pulled the rooms two chairs over and sat on the chairs. Sitting on the floor in the middle of them was the snack basket and the two girls were digging into the snacks and giving Jess advice about school. Things like which teachers allowed bathroom breaks and which didn't, about which bathroom was the best. Even sharing opinions on which single boys where the most eligible.

"Allison, I still say that THE most eligible Batchelor currently living in Beacon Hill's is the hottie that drove you home from my party." Lydia said shoving her friend lightly. "Admit it. Any girl...wait...no... any female who is in their right mind would climb the man like a tree if he showed the slightest hint he was interested." Lydia purred. "I know I would."

Allison blushed lightly. "I don't know. He was a bit too dark and broody for my tastes...but I will admit his looks were pretty yummy."

"What's yummy?" A sleepy voice murmered from the bed.

"Nothing, brother of mine. We are just gossiping and Lydia and Allison were telling me about their top pick for Beacon Hill's most eligible batchelor." Jess cooed softly towards the bed. Turning back to the girl's she grinned. "So are you going to tell me the name of this gift of the goddesses to their humble daughters?" Jess asked enjoying the girl talk more then she ever thought she could.

Blushing heavily Allison stared at the ground and whispered. "You have to promise you won't tell Scott. Apparently he has some problems with the guy." Jess nodded and smacked the bed when Allison stared at it expectantly.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah won't tell Scottie your warm for another man's form." Derek muttered grumpy.

Smiling shyly Allison leaned forwards and said quietly. "His name is Derek Hale."

Neither girl was prepared for the wheezing, barking, gasping, bout of laughter that the announcement seemed to illicit from Jess. Or the loud groan and long bout of swearing that erupted from the covered figure on the bed.

After several increasingly more annoyed requests to know what was so funny Jess finally staggered to the bed and started fighting the figure to haul off the robe and coat covering them. Still laughing so hard it hurt and only having one hand to use Jess gave up on uncovering the figure and instead just flopped beside the cursing figure and started trying to wipe the tears from her eyes. "I am sorry, I am so so so very sorry, I swear I didn't plan this or do it on purpose. I had no way of knowing really." Jess pleaded still giggling and wiping away tears. "Allow me, to introduce the two of you...to a wonderful man who I met years ago in Foster Care and who became my honorary brother. Whom I call my foster brother to help avoid too much confusion...who is more commonly know by the name... Derek Hale..."

Sighing loudly in defeat Derek pulled off the robe and coat and sat up in bed. Grabbing Jess he pulled her backwards to sit firmly in his lap and buried his face in her neck. "You are enjoying this WAY too much sister dearest." He grumbled glancing up at the two awestruck teen girls. "Hmmm, looks like you broke them."

Snapping free of her temprary paralysis caused by excessive amounts of embarrament first Lydia grabbed Allison's are and started pulling her towards the door. "We um, we need to go. We will see you at school tomorrow though Jess. Good luck. And sweet dreams and all that other stuff..." She finished lamely pulling a still stunned Allison out the door and slamming it shut behind them.

Leaning back against Derek's chest still giggling slightly she murmered. "That felt evil. We didn't plan it. It just happened. It wasn't our fault...and yet it feels so very evil it may send us to hell when we die." Jess said finally getting her giggles under control.

Nuzzling tighter to her neck Derek smirked and whispered. "Yeah, but it was worth it." And the pair began to laugh all over again. They were still giggling occasionally when Melissa came into the room 20 minutes later carrying bags of ready to eat meals and snacks from the local grocery store. She was followed by a confused Scott and Stiles who asked the pair what they had done to have Allison and Lydia swearing at the boys when they left.

Derek grinned and opened his mouth to reply but Jess elbowed him hard. "Ah, ah, ah we promised." She reminded the man who grumbled and snuggled his head back into Jess's neck. Hearing her alarm go off Jess caught the pill case Melissa tossed to her and took both the antobiotic and the pain killers. Finally climbing off Derek's lap Jess settled on the floor and let Melissa put her hair up in soft fabric curlers for the night while she nibbled at some fruit salad and chicken. By the time her hair was done Jess was practically asleep.

Derek scooped Jess up and laid her on the bed and tucked her in before he began to clean up the last of the clothing explosion left in her room. Looking up he saw that Scott and Stiles had loaded her binders with paper, and packed pens, pencils, highlighters, a calculator, ruler, white out, and sticky notes into a soft pencil case that they added to her bag. Walking over Derek slipped her wallet, and a can of pepper spray into the bag as well. Hesitating a moment he went to the dresser and pulled out a homemade mini first aide kit Jess had shown him while unpacking. It held butterfly bandages, liquid bandage, antibiotic cream, gauze, tape, topical numbing cream, and several small suture sets. Carrying it over Derek placed the kit in the bag. Making sure her phone was plugged in he whistled softly and smiled as Anne obediently followed him down the stairs and into the backyard. By the time he got back upstairs with the dog Melissa and the boys had left her room. Locking the door Derek took a shower and pulled on fresh clothes before slipping under the blankets beside Jess. Reaching over, Derek slipped his arm under under the girl and hugged her to his chest. It had been a long time since Derek had been the one to look after someone else. His sister Laura had been older then him and had ways made sure to look after him but had rarely allowed him to return the favor. Having a new younger pack member to look after was helping to fill the aching hole her loss had left in his chest. Burying his nose in Jess's hair Derek breathed in her scent deeply and slowly felt his muscles relaxant. Minutes later they were both sound asleep.
