Act IV (Part 1)

Vermin came back to Kraven.

"I tried to stop him," Vermin began. "He got away."

"Not good news as I hoped Vermin. Get in your cage and sleep for the night," Kraven suggests.

"Yes, Kraven..." he crawls on all-fours to his cage.

His phone rings and it's Riva. Kraven shakes his head and answers it.

"Yes?"

"You have to come to this next meeting." Riva ordered.

"Is there some contrived nonsense going on here in this crew? Who left the Promethium X in the desk room last night? Our guards saw that the container with the symbiote has escaped and now has been let loose all around in the world!" Riva yells.

"It was me," Doug said. Riva turns to look at him with pure anger in his eyes. "I moved it because it was next to a lot of weapons. It didn't feel safe, but I wasn't the one who broke it," Doug explained.

"Then who did?!" Riva yells as Kraven walks up to him and points to the TV, playing the Daily Bugle news. They all stare at it as they saw footage of Spider-Man, Daredevil, and an unknown creature they haven't seen before.

"That's the truck that was delivering in one of our outposts!" Shanice exclaimed.

"Who the hell are they fighting?" Victoria asks out of confusion.

"That is my partner, Vermin. I sent him to find the spider," Kraven explained nonchalantly.

They all turned to him with astonished and grimaced expressions on their faces. They didn't even know what to say to the hunter, well because they were intimidated by him, so they didn't say anything. Except, maybe for one man that was brave enough to talk down to him.

"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?! WE HIRED YOU TO KILL HIM AND YOU'RE BUSY BEING LAZY LETTING OTHERS DO THE DIRTY WORK FOR YOU!" Riva shouts at Kraven's face. However, there was a look on Kraven's face that said Riva was done for if he didn't get out of his face.

Riva trying to to be tough backed off a little bit from Kraven who stared him down as if he was an animal to him. He got close to Riva's face, "Listen here, you wretched moron... I was hired by you, yes. But you don't ever question my methods... I, Kraven the Hunter, am the greatest hunter in the world," he smirks so devilishly that Doug started to back up a little bit from that facial expression.

"I have defeated many different creatures all who have tried to best, Kraven. One of which was a rhino with my bare hands... and for the record I'm not lazy or goofing around, I'm actually studying my enemy unlike what you morons are failing to accomplish," Kraven angrily said.

"What?! Take that back!" Victoria yelled abruptly. "We've been helping the boss with his work and materials transporting it to the entire city and so on! What have you even done?"

"I just said that I learned about my enemy... learned about the spider..." Kraven replied with such contempt for this crew.

"And what is it that you have learned?" Guterman asks out of curiosity.

"I learned quite a few things... that he has particular scent that only I can detect and track, along with Vermin keeping track of his movements for me. His fighting style is also unique to me as he and I are at draw, but I will soon get the upper hand," Kraven exclaimed.

"And what do you mean by that?" Doug asked.

"Don't worry, you'll soon find out," Kraven said with a large, wide, maniacal smile showing his teeth. The rest of the crew is even frightened more by the hunter's expression.

"When the planetarium party comes by, I'll be awaiting for the greatest challenge of a lifetime. And for the record, this crew's interests in destroying Stark Industries is not in my desire, so I don't care about that goal... all I want is the spider," Kraven explained.

"In that case, we should leave you with the hunting," Riva remarked. "Oh and Kraven... lest we forget about our agreement... remember I know your real name..."

Kraven stopped smiling, stared at Riva with a deeply intensive stare, and asked "And what do you think my real name is?"

"Your real name is Vladimir Kravinoff... you are the son of the real 'Kraven the Hunter,' Sergei Kravinoff... you're from Russian nobility," Riva started. "Your father died in the accident during a trip in Africa... and ever since then you've been mooching off your father's legacy... I know about this from my sources that told me about hiring you... face it, you're nothing but a fra-Grgh!"

Kraven picks up Riva by the throat as if he were an item from a grocery store and Kraven growls at him like a lion. "You dare talk like that to me! You are a mere man with no goals, no challenge! You have no honor and yet you dare try to call me a fake! A fraud! You want the spider! I'll give you the spider! As I said earlier don't ever question my methods for I am Kraven the Hunter!" He declares proudly.

He then abruptly shoves Riva onto the ground, Janice comes by him to help him up, and Kraven walks away with his back turned against the crew.

"And for the record, I'm not Vladimir Kravinoff..." Kraven said without looking at them and walks away into the darkness.

"That was something," Doug muttered under his breath.

Kraven enters his room and starts to rant. "Moronic fools! Do they not know the power I wield to fight the spider?!" He starts to push and smash a few things off his table. He then looks at a certain picture, it was him in safari outfit, next to him a beautiful brown woman wearing also a safari outfit.

"My calypso..." he puts a hand on the picture and caresses it. "Oh, how I miss you so much every day..." He then starts to look at his mirror and away from where the picture was placed. Kraven has a rather saddened, depressed expression on his face.

On his counter a syringe that he took from the crew, he knew what the syringe actually does, as opposed as to what Riva and the rest think it does. They think it's meant to control him in case he turns out of line. He chuckled to himself as he knew they knew nothing, nothing at all at what the syringe actually does.

He opens a cabinet in the bathroom, cleans an area in his arm with alcohol, and applies the syringe's first dosage. He grunts a bit for this was the first of many changes he was going to go through. In a swift, he gets out of the bathroom, struggling in pain.

He tries to go back to the picture of his deceased lover for it gives him strength. He then looks at the mirror grunting in agony, then looks away.

Kraven takes a few breaths, stares into the mirror again, and smiles with a widened grin. His eyes started glowed yellow and his pupils went from round and circular to very cat-like slits

"Now we will be even, spider." He said evilly as the room started to go dark and his eyes glowed in it.

Ned called out to his friend, "You're worried about him. Aren't you?"

MJ blinked twice before noticing Ned was talking to her, "Oh, sorry," she started. "Yeah, I am. Why wouldn't I be?"

"It's just ever since he's been back in our lives, I feel I could be doing more though," Ned pouts.

"Like being his Guy-in-the-chair?" MJ points out nonchalantly.

"Yeah, exactly! And I know the job is risky, but I wish I could be there to help him and not," he sighs. "Look ever since that imposter incident at Midtown, he hasn't been well or healthy in my opinion and I just wish I could find a way to help him."

MJ pondered at her friend's words. though, she agreed, she wondered about something. "Hey, do you know about his dad, Richard Parker?"

"Yeah, when we first met we talked about his parents. They died in a plane crash," Ned summarizes.

"Wow and he doesn't talk about it a lot?" MJ asks.

"Are you going somewhere with this?" Ned also asked confused.

"I'm asking does he remember his father? Mother? Like what they were like before they died?" MJ asks out of curiosity.

"Oh... hm... I'm trying to remember..." Ned places a hand on his forehead and tries to remember what Peter and him talked about his family.

"He once told me his dad was a very secretive man, almost like he had the weight of the world on him. But he was also looking out for others before himself and his mother loved him for that," Ned explained.

MJ's lips twitched into a smile. Sounds like Richard and Peter were a lot of alike.

"He once told me that his father had a philosophy that he abided by. That if you can do good things for people, you had moral obligation to do those things. A responsibility," Ned states.

"With great power comes great responsibility," MJ realizes something.

"His dad and him think they had a responsibility to the world," MJ kept thinking more about Peter, the more he takes after his father.

"Yeah," Ned just said. "That responsibility is what drives Peter to this day."

"You know when I first saw him," he looks around as they're sitting outside of a restaurant. "As Spider-Man," he whispered.

"I dropped a LEGO Death Star in shock after seeing him on the ceiling in his room," Ned laughs at the old memory.

"Speaking of which, how did you figure it out the first time?" Ned asks MJ, who stares at him blankly.

"I figured it out when he disappeared and saved everyone in Washington."

Ned grimaced at the mention of Washington. Part of it was his fault for not listening to Peter about the alien weapon.

"However, during Europe I followed him fighting that fake lava monster and found the projector item that he pulled off. Also, I was 67% sure he was Spider-Man," she explained.

Ned stared at her in bewilderment. "Oh, so you were close to the Ferris wheel me and Betty were on."

"You guys were on the Ferris wheel," she said feeling shocked.

"Oh, you didn't know..." Ned said awkwardly.

"Well, that is too much info for one day," MJ also said awkwardly.

"Murderer!" They heard someone shout as Spider-Man swings by them.

Ned and MJ stare at their friend swinging away worried about him. They also kind of sent a death glare to the guy that shouted murderer at their friend. The guy didn't notice, but continued to walk to his destination.

"Wait, what was he swinging towards?" Ned asked out of curiosity. He got up from his seat and tried to look further into the distance as to where Peter was headed and it appeared to be a building got on fire and he's rescuing the people stuck inside. He smiled at his friend saving people's lives because that's just who Peter Parker is, that's who Spider-Man is.

Kraven groaned and started to enter the bathroom and threw up in the toilet.

"That syringe's dosage is affecting me, but I will be in control. For I am Kraven the Hunter!" He proudly declares as he takes of his shirt exposing his ripped muscles and six-pack abs. He starts to smell and hear better. He could hear the crew from outside discussing nonsense even further outside of from the base.

Kraven then approached to a small box. He opens it to reveal a collection of webbing left by Spider-Man. He sniffs it, his pupils dilated instantly, and so the real hunt begins now.

Kept it short because I didn't want this first part to overflowed with a lot of story. There was also a plot point I was going to start here to get it to move forward, but you'll see it next time.

Anyway hope you enjoyed it so far!
