Episode 14: In The Driver's Seat
It was a normal day in the Command Center when Billy called the Rangers for an urgent meeting once they got there, Billy showed them the image of a break in the sky that Jake quickly recognized while the other Rangers looked at him for reference.
-Is that the Corinth emergency signal? -asked Jake-… Did something happen?
-I'm not sure. I'm not able to contact Dr. K or any of the Rangers. -said, Billy.
Jake sighed, worried, and grabbed his Super Megaforce Morpher, trying to make a contact but nothing, frustrated, Jake turned towards the Rangers.
-I should go back to Corinth and investigate…-started Jake.
-You? As in you alone? -asked Gia.
-Yes, I…
-You are not going alone. -said Noah-… we are Rangers too, if someone is in danger, we all go.
Jake looked at his friends, realizing he was doing the same that his father tried to do to him for a long time, and sighed, scratching his head, and looking down, embarrassed.
-Sorry, I was an idiot… -said, Jake.
-Not an idiot, only overprotective. -said Emma-… but we can fight too, that's why you gave us these powers, right?
Jake nods, the only one still silent is Troy. He is still worried about what Noah said a few days ago but at the end of the day, they don't have enough information to be scared… they need to know more and Bastro seems to be the only source.
Of course, he can't talk to him without talking to Jake.

The Red RPM Rangers drives his Turbo Falcon Zord as fast as he can to escape the last attack from Professor Cog but he is using everything against him. The Red Ranger looks over his shoulder where the Blue, Yellow, and Green Rangers rest. He still can't believe they lost their Black Ranger, Dr. K, and Gem and Gemma to this.
The Turbo Falcon Zord gets hit on the side and the Red Ranger fights to keep it from crashing when suddenly, he sees a giant Ship appearing in front of them and he smiles, recognizing from the small contacts he had with the other Rangers that Ship.
The Red Ranger quickly drove his Zord to jump over the Ship and he landed right on the Ship, surprising the Super Megaforce Rangers right before he made contact with them.
-Jake! Are you in there!? -asked the Red Ranger.
-Scott!? -asked the Green Ranger.
-Yes! Cog attacked us! We need to go to Summer's house, remember where it is? There is a forcefield there that will protect us for now! -said the Red Ranger.
-Ok… grabs yourselves. -said the Green Ranger before he turned to look at the Super Megaforce Red Ranger-…Red, we need to go north, if I'm not mistaken Summer's house must be 20 minutes from here.
-Go it! Grab yourselves, everyone!
Red Super Megaforce moved the Ship towards the direction Green indicated while they were being chased and ten minutes later finally they started to see land, he and the Rangers managed the ship until they saw a house in the middle of the land and when the Green Ranger nodded, Red Super Megaforce landed, finally safe from the chasing.
When they realized they were safe, the Green Ranger quickly got out of his seat and ran towards the Turbo Falcon Zord in time to see the Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green RPM Rangers getting out of the zord. Jake took off his helmet at the same time they did and they all hugged the RPM Rangers have been in trouble.
-What… what are you doing here? -asked Flynn.
-We received a stress signal and we came to check and help. -said Jake, looking behind him-… these are the Super Megaforce Rangers. Troy is Red, Noah is Blue, Gia is Yellow, Emma is Pink and Orion is Silver.
Then, Jake turned to his team and looked at them.
-These are the RPM Rangers. The Rangers in this dimension. -said, Jake-… Scott is Red, Flynn is Blue, Ziggy is Green, Summer is Yellow, and… wait a minute.
Jake turned to the RPM Rangers looking for the missing team and he saw the RPM Rangers looking down, that's when he noticed Summer has been crying and his worst fears came to life.
-Dillon? -asked Jake-… Dr. K and Gem and Gemma too…
-Captured as far as we know, all of them…-said Scott, looking down-… Dillon pushed us toward the Turbo Falcon Zord and closed the doors after Dr. K, Gem, and Gemma got captured. He must have been the one sending the distress signal.
-He knew you would get it…-said Summer-… Jake, we need you and your Rangers to fight Cog one more time.
Jake's eyes turned momentary golden as he did his best to control his rage but he knew this is not what they needed now, no, they needed to find a way to save Dillon and the others before Professor Cog decided to eliminate them for good.
-We will help. -said Troy-… but we need a plan.
-Let's go inside. We can talk there. -said, Summer.
The Rangers nodded and walked into the house, this was an important battle they couldn't afford to lose and they would not do it. They would not lose any RPM Ranger or Dr. K today.
That was a promise.
Corinth (Professor Cog's Lair)
Professor Cog walked from side to side looking at the Ranger in front of him while Dillon winced in pain, tied to a wall, beside him, on a cell, Dr. K, Gem, and Gemma could do nothing but watch the Black RPM Ranger get tortured.
-So… where are your friends again? -asked Professor Cog.
-Go to hell…-whispered Dillon.
Professor Cog chuckled and activated the sparks again, making Dillon scream in pain as he was electrocuted while Dr. K, Gem, and Gemma looked to the side, unable to do anything to help and hoping the Rangers will be able to come on time to save Dillon.
Corinth (Summer's House)
The Rangers were talking about the plan with Flynn and Noah taking out a map of Professor Cog's possible lairs, while Summer, Gia, and Emma prepared everything they could need, and Ziggy and Troy talked about the different consequences of going into Cog's lair.
On the side, Jake sighed when Scott touched his shoulder.
-Are you going to explain what are those golden eyes I saw before? -asked Scott.
-Bastro… is an ancient spirit that lives inside me. He is not at his full power now but he gives me glimpses of what I can do when he is in his full power. -said, Jake.
-Do you know why he is with you? -asked Scott.
Jake looks down. He doesn't know why Bastro wanted him but the truth is that he trusted his judgment even more than he trusted himself.
-I don't know, Scott, maybe because I am the son of two Rangers and the age of a Ranger myself? -asked Jake-… all I know is that he allows me to use his power to help my friends and everyone else and that is all I care about.
Scott nodded and looked out, where the Turbo Falcon Zord was roaring to go to battle when he felt someone calling them and turned around to see that Flynn and Noah came up with a plan to save the rest of the team.
When all the Rangers reunited, Flynn showed them the map and pointed to the locations where they believe they could get access to Dillon, Dr. K, Gem, and Gemma. The idea was risky but it was necessary as they had to rescue them.
-Ok, so let's see the plan again. -said, Troy-… Flynn, you and Noah will open the locked doors so we can go behind while, Gia, Emma, and Summer cover you and make sure nothing interrupts your work.
-Then, Orion and Ziggy will take the first floor and clear the area so Troy, Jake, and Scott can go in, find our friends, and get them out of here, they probably you will find Cog but you three are a good match. -said Noah, looking at the three Rangers.
-It looks like a plan, Rangers, let's go! -said, Scott.
The Rangers break formation to get ready, Troy and Emma stood on the side, hugging each other.
-Be careful out there. -whispered Emma.
-I will but if something happens…-started Troy.
-No, nothing is going to happen. -said Emma, grabbing Troy's face-… we will win this, Troy, and please, make sure Jake doesn't do anything stupid.
Troy closed his eyes, kissing her hands covered by her Rangers' gloves, and nodded. The two Rangers hug while not far from them, Jake and Gia looked at each other.
-I would force you to promise you wouldn't do anything risky but I know you, Jake, so I want you to promise you will come back to me. -whispered Gia.
-I will. I promise. We all will come back, together, and then we will go home, to enjoy the rest of the day. -promised Jake.
Gia nodded and both Rangers kissed for a few minutes before they had to break each other's embrace and had to go with their teams to get ready for the mission.
-We will win, Rangers. We will save our friends and finish Cog for once and all. -said, Scott.
-We will…-said Jake.
The Rangers put their helmets on and walked towards the Turbo Falcon Zord and the Legendary Ship to go to a closer location and put an end to this nightmare.
Corinth (Outside Cog's Lair)
RPM Blue and Super Megaforce Blue arrived and started working on the locks while Super Megaforce Pink and Yellow and RPM Yellow cover them when they saw Attacks Bots running towards the location and the Rangers prepared for the fight.
-Continue, we cover you! -said Yellow Super Megaforce.
Then she, Pink Super Megaforce, and Yellow RPM ran towards the Attacks Bots, ready to block every attack and let their Blue companion do their job, not far from them, once the doors were open, Silver Super Megaforce and RPM Green ran inside and started to bring down the Attack Bots and the Drones in the area while Red Super Megaforce, RPM Red, and Green Super Megaforce ran pass the floor and went to the next level, where they are hoping their friends are.
Corinth (Cog's Lair, Second Floor)
Red Super Megaforce, RPM Red, and Green Super Megaforce got in time to see how the Attack Bots tried to transport the cell with Dr. K, Gem, and Gemma while other Bots tried to take an unconscious Dillon out.
-Go for them, I'll get Dillon. -said Green Super Megaforce.
Both Red Rangers looked at each other but were unable to stop him while Green Super Megaforce ran and pushed the Attack Bots away, grabbing Dillon at the same time Green Super Megaforce grabbed his pistol, firing the lasers on the Bots.
On the other side, using their lasers, Red Super Megaforce and RPM Red managed to free Dr. K, Gem, and Gemma and turned around to help Green Super Megaforce and Dillon, not realizing one of the Attack Bots was still alive and he fired at the wall, making the ceiling fall over their heads.
-Take cover! -screamed RPM Red.
-Red! -was heard on Red Super Megaforce Morpher.
The Rangers closed their eyes, almost waiting for the fall when they felt something covering them all and they moved their arms from their faces, watching Green Super Megaforce, surrounded by a white aura, holding the ceiling with great effort.
-Quickly… you need to get everyone out of here…-said Green Super Megaforce, breathing heavily.
-Green! How can you…? -asked RPM Red.
-No time… just get Dillon and the other safe… I will be right behind you. -said Green Super Megaforce.
-I don't think so…
The Rangers turned to see Professor Cog walking towards them. He looked furious and was about to attack the Green Rangers when both Red Rangers covered Green Super Megaforce then, RPM Red turned to look at Dr. K.
-Dr. K, get Gem, Gemma, and Dillon out. We will follow you soon. -said RPM Red.
Dr. K didn't want to leave them but she had no choice Gem and Gemma grabbed Dillon and the four of them ran out of the building while both Red Rangers and the Green Super Megaforce Ranger stayed behind.
Once they ran outside, they found the rest of the Rangers, worried about what was going on inside Dillon started to wake up and looked around him, smiling when he saw Summer near him.
-They are still inside? -asked RPM Blue.
-Yes… Jake was holding the ceiling using his powers and Scott and your Red Ranger were about to fight Cog but I don't know how long Jake is going to be able to handle it. -said, Dr. K.
Suddenly and as if she called them, a white portal opened and Red Super Megaforce and RPM Red flew to the ground a few seconds later, a white figure pushed Cog to the ground and the Rangers saw for the first time the real power of Bastro's vessel as Jake's figure was covered in white fire and his eyes were gold.
-Jake? -whispered Yellow Super Megaforce.
-Finish him, quickly…-said Jake with a low voice-… I don't know how much I can hold on to this form.
The Super Megaforce Rangers and the RPM Rangers stood together and with Dillon now morphed into the RPM Black, the RPM Rangers got their Nitro Blasters while the Super Megaforce Rangers prepared their weapons. Jake only had to move a hand to insert his key while on the other hand, he raised Cog and put him in the air.
-Now!
The Rangers fired at the same time, hitting the monster, and defeating him then, Jake turned around and looked at the Rangers, smiling at them.
-Rangers… what you see now is Jake using my full power. Don't get mistaken, I can't do this often but Corinth offered a boost I was able to use. -explained Jake-… after I reduce my power, Jake will lose their conscience but he will be fine. Bring him home and let him rest.
-What about…? -started Blue Super Megaforce.
-Not now, Noah. All will be explained when the time is right. -said, Jake.
Then Jake turned to his human form and didn't hit the ground because Gia was there to catch him. She kissed his hair and breathed him in, thankful he was fine and that this was finally over.
They could go back home now.
Corinth (Summer's House)
The Rangers were saying goodbye to each other when Scott stopped Troy since Orion and Noah were making sure to transport Jake so he could rest all the way home. Scott was serious when he looked at Troy and then, at the other Rangers.
-Take care of him, Troy. We may not be around a lot but Jake is like a little brother to us. -said, Scott.
-I will and I promise I will find out more about Bastro. -promised Troy.
Scott nodded and both Rangers hugged each other before Troy finally got into the Legendary Ship and started the route back home while the Rangers looked at Jake's sleeping form, relaxed and with not a worry right now.
-Do you think he will be fine? -asked Orion.
-He will. -said Gia, crossing her arms-… he has to.
Noah looked over at his best friend, worried while Emma put her head on Troy's shoulder while he drove the Legendary Ship and sighed. They were going back home, yes but for some reason, Jake's transformation scared them.
They had to finish this war before Jake's power becomes too overwhelming for his body. They had to.
