Chapter 18: Spirit breaking
On a bed in a luxurious home
Mew sleeps. The light shines on her face as if the angels are telling her to wake up.
"Where am I? Looks like a luxurious place. Chance. I wonder if he put us under genjutsu. Was he even in control? It's quite nice in this bed. The beds back home were nowhere near this comfortable. I might stay here a bit longer." Mew thought to herself.
"You're finally awake. You were put under genjutsu. I took some of Korrina's medications and she has no idea that I did so. I remember everything, And I would like to apologize. My Lucario form sometimes takes place without my knowledge or decision. It's an automatic instinct when the barrier is broken. I'm sorry that you had to see that part of me." Chance apologized.
"It sounds like it wasn't your fault." Mew replied.
"You're right. But I still feel guilty. I broke a promise that day and that hurts worse than any bullet. Endangered everyone by bringing everyone out of their hiding place underground. Had that genjutsu not been placed on you, you would have been killed along with the others. Their current location, I don't know. I don't even have an educated guess for this situation. I hope they're ok wherever they are." Chance said.
At Naruto
Naruto wakes up in a room. The paint on the walls is peeling off. The only table in there is broken in half. The place is disgusting. Naruto looks out at the window to see he is currently in a poor looking neighborhood. Suddenly a soldier opens the door.
"Glad to see your awake boy, come with me, your friends are safe, don't worry. We are organizing a rebellion against our German oppressors. My name is Adrian." Adrian introduced himself.
"My name is Naruto Uzumaki." Naruto introduced himself.
"Alright, let's get moving to our hideout. Keep your mouth shut alright." Adrian said.
Naruto nods in agreement.
They leave the home and on the way to the hideout a 4th Reich officer starts a conversation with Adrian which Naruto doesn't understand because they are speaking German. Afterwards Adrian leads Naruto to the basement of a home.
"Great job Adrian. Now that everyone is here. Shinobi and Kunoichi, tell me, what are your abilities?" An older man asked.
"I can use Byakugan to see for long distances. So, I think it would be useful to look out for oncoming attacks." Hinata answered.
"I could use my insects to drain the chakra out of the guards. The insects will make the guards powerless to defeat us." Shino answered.
"Me and Akamaru can tear our opponents into shreds." Kiba answered.
"Me and Neji can also use our Byakugan, we also possess the ability to deflect projectiles coming our way. So, we would be perfect for defense." Hiashi answered.
"I can create many shadow clones to take them down and use my Rasengan to finish them off." Naruto answered.
"We are talented swordswomen. My sword has a small needle-like tip that I have coated with poison, one drop would kill anyone." Shinobu answered.
"Excellent, here's what you're going to do, Young man, you will create as many shadow clones as possible, then use a knife to kill the guards via ambush. We have plenty in supply. Swordswomen, you both will help the ambush. The ambush will take place all around the ghetto. Where guards are constantly patrolling. Then young bug man, use your bugs to suck the chakra out of the guards outside of the ghetto rendering them incapacitated. Then we take their guns and tanks with defense from the others then escape this wretched place." An old man explained.
"Great." Adrian responded.
"Wait, Naruto, you can launch shuriken from all directions first, then kill whoever remains." Neji said.
"Right." Naruto replies.
"No shinobi guard this ghetto. The guards are regular people who only use firearms and advanced machinery. That king of Rota is the reason we are all stuck here. The bastard should have killed the Fuhrer when he had the goddamn chance. He shouldn't have sold the 4th Reich firearms before and during the war started. Leading them to a string of victories and the deaths of many." The old man explained.
The others in the room cheer. As they prepare to activate their plan.
On a balcony
Chance inspects his rifle while occasionally looking out at the many rows of evenly placed tombstones.
"Hello" A voice breaks the dead silence.
"Who is it?" Chance asked.
"It is I, Kanao Kocho." Kanao answered.
Chance looks at her.
"What do you want? Were you sent by Shinobu to make me even more miserable from guilt?" Chance asked.
"No, But I am here to apologize for my sister's actions. They were unacceptable. I forgive you for killing Kanae and I wish to help you become a better person and overcome your hatred." Kanao answered.
Chance is relieved from some of the guilt.
"Thank you so much. And I must admit, you have improved your ability to be independent. I remember when you wouldn't speak unless ordered too, when you barely showed any emotion, and your social skills were worse than mine. But now, you can speak unambiguously, and act on your own free will. I respect improvement from anybody." Chance complimented.
"Thank you, I looked into your soul, and I noticed two things that surprised me, one it looks centuries old, and two your behavior isn't what you truly are rather it's a fabrication to gain approval from others." Kanao said.
"Nice talent. I'm aware I'm an old soul, I have memories of my past lives, most of which are being killed on the battlefield. It is said that old souls are those who failed to learn their lesson in their past life while not being evil. They are sent back down here to earth to learn their lesson. If they fail again this will keep happening to the soul. And yeah, I pretend to be a serious, determined, and cold-hearted individual. When in reality I'm a Carefree, Lazy and light-hearted guy who just wants everyone to be happy, which Is the end goal of my plan." Chance replied.
Chance walks over to Kanao and lets out his hand for a handshake. They shake hands. Suddenly a noise comes from the roof. A tall woman draws her sword.
"It's been a while Kanao. Chance, I was wrong about you, you can't change, you're a hateful creature who lacks a heart. You ended my life; you brought suffering upon my family that I cannot forgive. I hate you; you deserve to rot in hell without your precious family. You're a disgrace to your family and family name. I saved your life, and I was like a big sister and combat mentor to you. And you killed me just to keep your hatred which in reality doesn't make you stronger. I am evidence of that, I became powerful without hatred. Now Kanao, quit it with the false forgiveness and help me kill him." Kanae said.
"False forgiveness." Chance said.
"No, I meant every word I said. I have a feeling this is not the real Kanae." Kanao proposed.
"Her Aura is the exact same, this is the real Kanae. Her sclera is red instead of black meaning she was brought back to life by someone else other than my cousin Kaluna." Chance replied.
In a flash Kanae grabs Chance and takes him to a nearby plain field where they will fight. Kanao alerts Mew and Mukago. They locate Chance and Kanae.
"No matter how many friends you bring you will still be defeated." Kanae proclaimed.
"Shut up, when I gain your blood, I will become powerful enough to wipe your entire clan!" Mukago proclaimed.
"You mean Shinobu and Kanao. Not much of a clan really. Everyone else died from a mysterious disease. It seems you Aura-Suns are not the only ones with a family disease. But anyway, you're not going to get my blood, you bloodthirsty demon girl." Kanao replied.
"I will end this quickly." Mukago claimed.
Mukago charges at Kanae.
"Equinoctial Vermillion Eye." Kanae said.
The world seemingly moves in slow motion. Kanae moves normally and punches Mukago who is completely unaware of Kanae's doing. Mukago is sent a small distance.
"This woman is so strong; We are so screwed. Maybe I could retreat. But no, I'm not leaving king Chance behind." Mukago thought to herself.
"Mew! Get out of here! I can hold her off long enough for you to escape. My speed at my full power can counter the slow age of time by the Vermillion Eye." Chance said.
"I'm not leaving you. I will help you defeat her." Mew responded.
"I appreciate your help, but this woman will kill you if you decide to stay. Even if I defeat her myself, doing so will shorten my lifespan, I estimate 10 to 20 years." Chance said.
"So, what do we do?" Mew asked.
"You and Mukago get the hell out of here. And I will most likely die or lose a large amount of my life." Chance answered.
"Oh no." Kanae replied.
"What do you mean Oh no? Shouldn't you be excited about my death or shortened lifespan?" Chance asked.
"I've had a change of heart, I'm not going to kill you, just simply defeat you. And there is no need to use your full power." Kanae answered.
"What is her game? Why can't I read her mind or her actions? Why hasn't Mew and Mukago gotten the hell out of here?" Chance wondered in his mind.
Kanae in a flash kicks Chance in the right kneecap. Chance screams in pain and passes out. A few seconds later Chance stands up.
"So, this is the famous Kanae, the only one that has ever scared Chance. I'm going to spoil how this will end, you will once again lie under the snows of Stalingrad." Chance said.
"Did I give you brain damage? Those were the worst sentences I've ever heard." Kanae insulted.
"Oh, where are my manners? Oh, that's right they are still at the entrance to hell. I haven't properly introduced myself to you because you died before I fused myself with Chance. My name is Lucifer Sukinara." Lucifer introduced himself.
"Lucifer, what are you? His alter ego?" Kanae asked.
"No, A spirit of a long dead man." Lucifer answered.
"Interesting, I have to go. Goodbye." Kanae replied.
Kanae leaves instantly.
"Lucifer, what happened to Chance?" Mew asked.
"He's fine. Due to the seal, I placed on his right kneecap, if it takes a certain amount of damage, I take control instantly." Lucifer answered.
They head back inside the home.
In a hotel room.
The doorbell rings. Kaluna opens it and Kanae and Kabuto walk in.
"Are you satisfied? You bitch" Kanae asked sarcastically.
"Very. He will seek me for power. I'm a god now and he will come to me to gather information on the location of Mezameru's remains. He will become a god just like me and maybe even surpass me but that's highly unlikely." Kalun replies.
'I did what you asked me to do. Now tell me, where is Shannon?" Kabuto asked.
"He's in likely trying to win the love of Kurenai, his longtime crush. He is decently strong but with the power I bestowed to you. You shouldn't have an issue with him." Kaluna answered.
Kabuto leaves.
"I can't believe you would betray your cousin like this." Kanae responded.
"It's not betrayal. I'm simply pushing him towards the darkness, that will make him a lot more focused in completing our mission. Now that he believes you've lost your faith in him. He will seek the power to become a god like me. His spirit will be broken, and his dark side will emerge and his light will be eliminated. Not to mention, he would do what I say anyway." Kaluna explains.
"What are you talking about?" Kanae questioned.
"It's in the contract. He must follow the rules of the contract, or he will kill himself. He could break it at any time. But he won't since he views himself as useless at anything else except serving his family. He follows the orders of the family even if he himself does not agree with them." Kaluna answered.
"What contract?" Kanae asked.
The contract is a document signed with the blood infused with Aura and can only be signed by those who possess Aura. There are certain rules you must follow like thou shall obey their family. Never harm a woman. And thou shall never touch one of the three poisons, Tobacco, Alcohol, and Drugs. Follow all the rules on the contract and no matter the sins you commit you will never be sent to hell rather you will stay on earth living an eternal life as a Lucario. So, Chance has no problems committing the worst of crimes to fulfill his family's will because he knows that he won't suffer consequences in the afterlife." Kaluna answers.
"Oh no." Kanae responded.
"This hotel houses all of those who I have revived. Your room 300." Kaluna said.
Kanae leaves.
Shino is training with Shinobu. Shinobu is moving too fast for shinobu's insects to get near her. Shino is using his taijutsu ability to defend himself from Shinobu's blazing attacks. Her attacks are not strong; rather she uses her speed to overwhelm her opponent. Suddenly they are struck by intense sound waves.
"Hey bug freak. I'm here for my rematch." Zaku said.
"Sure. I'll defeat you despite your ambush." Shino proclaimed.
"I don't think that's such a good idea. You may be talented but during our rigorous training you are at your limit. If I were you, I would decline to fight him." Shinobu suggested.
"I don't run away from a fight." Shinobu replied.
"Poor choice." Zaku said.
Shino sends his insects at Zaku who stands still. The bugs die and fall off of Zaku. Shino is upset by Zaku murdering a majority of his bugs. Shinobu gets away from the combat and will watch at a distance.
"What's wrong you freak? Crying over the loss of some insignificant insects. Grow up you creepy weakling" Zaku taunted.
Zaku throws smoke bombs on the ground in separate areas that surround Shino releasing blue smoke. Suddenly the bugs all begin leaving Shino's body. All of his bugs die in the smoke. Zaku screams loudly. Shino then falls to the ground vomiting, his ears bleeding, and his vision is distorted.
Zaku then holds a sword to Shino's throat.
"I win, this fight is over. Unless you want me to kill you, which I will happily oblige." Zaku declared.
"It seems Shino still has much work to do. I could easily defeat his opponent." Shinobu thought to herself.
"Fine, you win." Shino admitted defeat.
Zaku releases Shino and leaves.
Near the Konoha border
Shikamaru is out on a search and destroy mission with Tsuzumi Sarugaku and Riichi.
Suddenly they are ambushed by Kin Tsuchi and Dosu Kinuta.
"Kin, Now is your chance to get revenge." Dosu said.
"Right." Kin replied.
Senbon rains down upon them.
"This is too easy." Kin said.
"I expected it to be so. Now I must deliver my payback to that kid but that will require assistance from you and Zaku. " Dosu replied.
"Of course." Kin responded.
They leave the defeated Konoha nin. But a few hours later a group of medical nin find them and return them to Konoha.
A boy watches the medical nin find the Konoha nin.
"So, I assume I'm close to Konoha. Mukago, you better not cower out of this or I'm going to punish you." The boy said.
