Disclaimer: If...if...if...yeah, if I owned the show, I wouldn't be here right now and you would have to rely on others as entertainment. So if you try to sue me, then you wouldn't be able to read this any more and then you would be sad. So there.

Review Responses:

The Ronin: You give the best advice. Really. Your reviews really help me to strive towards not what I want my story to be, but what my story should be. I'll try to give an insight into Gene's head, and I'm also planning to give a little bit of info on what goes on inside Khan's head too.

StoryWeaver1: You shall soon find out why he knows what he knows and what he's been keeping from Melfina. Have fun, chica.

Tsubaba no Yami: Thanks for the great compliment! I'm really glad that you like the story. Please continue to read and, you know, *nudge nudge* *wink wink* spread the word? LOL D

Engel_der_Nacht: GO #15! LOL – Yeppers, I think that you WERE #15. That's so cool. Yeah, it is kinda freaky how Khan seems to KNOW EVERYTHING. And I think that you are the first person that has ever told me that you LIKE the cliffhangers. GO YOU!!! XD You rock, dude.

Dishrag1313: MY PLUSHIE!!! *Huggles to you and Gackt!*

Call it Karma: I'm so glad that you reviewed twice! ARIGATO!!! I WUV YOU!!! (As my thanks, I'm thinking about having Suzuka play an important role later on in the story. I won't tell you just now, but I'll give warning and I already know where and how she'll help out. XD Much WUV, have fun with the story.

In the last chapter....

-----------

"Well, hello, there Melfina. Hello indeed. This is Gwen Khan, yes, Gwen Khan, but I'm sure that you knew that already, didn't you? Yes, I'm sure you did, very sure actually. Now, don't be afraid, Melfina, don't be afraid, please I beg of you; I am simply calling to check in on you...yes, that's right, to check in on you and Gene. How are things between you two, anyway? Feeling any...ah, yes, different – feeling any different at all?

"Tell me, dear, yes tell me dear Melfina. Have you two fallen in love yet?"

(A/N: What will happen next? READ ON TO FIND OUT!!!)

Prince Charming: Chapter Six

-----------

Melfina's eyes grew large and wide.

"What?" she gasped, but the Gwen Khan on the screen was oblivious to any reaction she might have had. He was quiet for a few moments, staring out from the computer with the same disturbingly frightening beaming face.

"Now, you know I'm always right, Melfina, my dear, so don't try to object, yes no objections now. Just listen, yes that's right, LISTEN."

Mel slumped back in her chair, eyes large.

"As you know, I am one of the creators of the XGP, and of course, yourself as well," Khan began, pushing up his round glasses with one index finger. "The original idea the Space Forces had planned out was that we would form a unique navigational system inside of the XGP that would far surpass anything that the Pirates had already established. They kept this hidden from the knowledge of the Pirates, the knowledge, you see.

"In fact, the Space Forces concealed a great many things from the Pirates during the construction of the XGP, oh yes, a great many things! At first, the Space Forces were really quite eager, oh so eager, to assist in what they were told was going to be the most advanced piece of technology ever crafted.

"But when an unknown person revealed false information that told of the Pirates planning on taking the XGP for themselves once it was completed, they also began to conduct private and traitorous schemes, such traitorous schemes. They did, indeed, yes indeed, help construct a navigational system inside of the XGP, but they also secretly built an outside instrument vital to the ship. If the owner of the ship wanted for it to reach its full potential, they would need this last piece to the puzzle, this last piece. That piece was you, Melfina.

"When the Space Forces found out later that the information they had received was not true, it was already too late, yes much too late. The Pirates had discovered the lies of the Space Forces and decided to match blasphemy with blasphemy...so to speak."

He grinned.

"They had one of their fortunetellers read the future, and they saw how human this puzzle piece would be, would become. So they stole you temporarily and made their own adjustments to your personality and your future."

His grin disappeared to be replaced by seriousness.

"You see, they saw Gene Starwind in the future. They saw what he would do to their plans to discover the Leyline. And they automatically knew what they had to do. They knew that you two would fall in love and that they had to prevent that, prevent it from happening. They knew that if you loved him, you would stay by his side and help him as best you could. So the Pirates did something that was cruel, almost cruel enough for me not to comprehend.

"They placed a limiter inside your body, yes inside your body. It wasn't just something physical, but something made up of very, very powerful Tao magic. They made it so that love hurt you."

Melfina was now in a severe state of shock, and her eyes glazed over as these words exited the speakers that stood on both sides of the computer.

"When you realized how much you cared for Gene Starwind, you would feel nothing more than pain, yes pain. You would be overcome with agony, to the point that you couldn't stand to be around him anymore. You'd leave the XGP, never to return, never return, if only to keep yourself from even more ache."

His face was once again lit up with maniacal glee.

"But, so far, you seem to be handling the hurt quite well, Melfina, yes quite well indeed. But, then again, you know it's only a matter of time before you leave. The Pirates never read the future incorrectly, you see, but you probably know already, of course. So I'm only calling to tell you that when the pain becomes completely unbearable, that you may always join me. I'd appreciate it so much, yes so very much.

"But this message is getting too long, much too long indeed. I must go now, but please think about my offer, my generous offer. I would appreciate that as well. Farewell, Melfina."

The screen went black.

A/N: So whatcha think? I can't really remember all of the details of what happened during the time when the Space Forces and Tao Pirates created the Outlaw Star, so I went off everything (which is nothing) that I could remember. Please review. Once I have 24 reviews, I'll UPDATE. Until then, my pretty kitties, ja ne.
