After paying the cab, Juvia put her clutch bag on her head and ran to the house. It was raining heavily and of all days, she forgot to bring her umbrella that day. Such luck. She put in the key and pushed the door open before she removed her office coat in haste and put it on the rack. She was dripping wet.

Juvia removed her shoes and walked further inside. She was close to the stairs when she saw something move in her peripheral vision.

"Gray-sama!" she squealed and relaxed. "You're home early," she commented.

He just walked out of the kitchen, a mug in his hand, wearing a comfortable white shirt and shorts. He rose an eyebrow as he looked at her.

"And you're...wet," he said and Juvia blushed, unconsciously hugging herself. He gave her his mug which contained coffee. "Hold this," he added before turning around and strolled to the bathroom. When he returned, he was holding a fresh white towel which he handed to her.

Juvia thanked him, her heart feeling warmth. It was nice of him to go out of his way to bring her a towel. It has only been weeks and she was happy with the progress her relationship had with Gray. He never tried to ignore her again and she could see he was sincere in giving her a chance.

"You can drink that. I haven't sip from it," he told her, talking about the coffee she was holding.

"Oh no, I don't drink coffee," she replied and gave him back the mug. "Thank you, though."

He shrugged. "No worries. And well, I needed this," he sipped from his mug.

Juvia tried to dry her damp hair. "For what, if I may ask?"

He scowled. "Report. I hate them, they never fail to keep me awake in the middle of the night."

She laughed. "Must be miserable."

"You have no idea," he shook his head. "Well, I'll be procrastinating for a few hours in the living room. See ya."

Before he stepped away, Juvia was quick to hold his arm to stop him. She let go when she caught his attention.

"Can I join you?" she asked unsure.

Gray blinked then his gaze moved to her body, particularly her chest which was still damp, her bra almost visible behind the white top. Both of them flushed and Juvia wrapped the towel around her.

"S-sorry," he uttered, glancing away.

"It's fine, so uhm, can I join you? After I take a bath, of course."

"Y-yea sure," he replied and mechanically walked towards the living room.

Juvia beamed and sauntered upstairs. She took her time bathing and choosing a pair of pajamas. She opted for the yellow one with cute design. After drying her hair, she went downstairs to join Gray. Silver would be late, he had a sudden appointment. She believed Gray already knew since he didn't ask about his father.

When she entered the living room, Gray was already sitting on the three seater long sofa, his eyes on the tv while holding a remote, clicking it as he searched for something to watch.

Juvia sat beside him and was glad that he didn't shift away from her.

"Would you like to choose?" He asked her and she nodded. He gave her the remote before grabbing his mug from the center table.

She chose a mystery, thriller movie which she had been meaning to watch but hadn't have the time to. Gray agreed and told her it looked interesting. During the whole movie, they didn't talk, both focused on the tv screen. There were instances where she flinched or held her heart in surprise while Gray stayed in the same position until it ended.

"I certainly won't be able to sleep tonight," he remarked as he stretched his legs.

Juvia giggled. "I'm glad to be of help, then."

"You sure have some odd taste in movie but I enjoyed it."

She giggled. "When I was a teenager, I joined a gang." His eyes flickered with interest so she continued. "It was that point of my life where I tried to look cool and tough. The leader, a close friend of mine, thought the best way to see if you ain't scared of anything was to watch these kind of movies."

"I didn't peg you as someone who has that kind of past. I mean looking at you now, there's no sign of you being something near the word gangster."

Juvia shrugged. "I was lonely and the only people who were willing to make friends with me were those guys."

"Same with me. I was an angry kid back then but I met friends who stick with me no matter how hard I pushed them away. Until now, we're still friends and I'm lucky to have them."

She smiled as she gazed at his reminiscing face, a small smile forming his lips. This was the only time she saw him smiling and it made him more attractive. The more she started at him, the more handsome he looked.

Juvia felt her cheeks growing warmer so she turned away. What was she thinking about her boss' son?

"Good for you," she said and tried to empty her thoughts about him. "I was left with only one friend though. But he's the best I could ever ask for, so no complaints."

"Better than nothing."

She agreed. "And oh, do you need to work now? Tell me, if you have to go."

"Right, the report," he stated as if reminding himself. He looked at the clock. "It's okay, I still have time. Do you want to watch another movie?"

Juvia nodded enthusiastically, her heart beating like drum when he glanced at her and grinned.

"You choose, I'll go get some snacks." He stood up, taking his mug with him.

After the second movie ended, they both decided to go upstairs together. The night seemed short because she enjoyed his company and their little talks about their friends. He even promised he would take her to meet them someday.

Gray walked Juvia to her room and his eyes dimmed when he noticed where it was. He hadn't pay attention before so he didn't have any idea if they stay in the same room or not. He tried his hardest to not think about it since he couldn't really imagine them on the same bed.

"You're staying in my father's room?" Gray asked, his voice turning cold.

Juvia faced him, looking shy. "Of course," she replied as a matter-of-factly and went inside. "Thank you, Gray-sama, for tonight," she flashed a smile before closing the door.

Gray clenched his fist that was inside his pocket. He kept forgetting the fact that she was his dad's wife. Like tonight, they talked like friends and just liked she asked before, he thought of her as a friend. He felt comfortable around her, even telling her things he never thought he would. She just made it easy for him to open up to her.

But something about her being his father's wife didn't sit well with him. It was easy being nice to her but it'd be difficult to really accept her. He already decided to welcome her to the family, but it doesn't to be as easy as he thought.

He messed with his hair and walked towards his room. Damn it.
