Good evening,
I hope you enjoy the chapter.
Oxford Not Brogues
Chapter Seven
"Should we have stopped her and demanded answers?" Sebastian asked. He was leaning casually back against a building while staring down at the golden locket she had placed in his hand earlier that night. Dawn was only minutes away and they waited anxiously for their bride's return on the street corner. The demon subconsciously brushed his thumb over the engraved 'S'. He hadn't bothered opening it, mostly because he didn't have much of a curiosity. He could only assume the contents within were pictures of her parents. Perhaps that's why the necklace was so important to her that she would never leave it behind.
"I don't think we could have stopped her." Alucard admitted, sounding somewhat frustrated by that thought. "It only would have pissed her off, and I don't have the energy to handle her wrath at the moment. This way is easier. We're restoring our trust in her, she'll come back willingly, and she'll be in a pleasant mood."
"If Seras loved us, if she has missed us this entire time, then why did she run in the first place?" The demon sighed. "No matter how I look at it, I don't understand why Seras did what she did."
"Hopefully we'll be getting the answers to that very soon." The elder vampire murmured as he checked his surroundings for a tenth time. His eyes searched the street for the Draculina as the sun started peeking over the horizon. In the distance, he saw a sharp red light bouncing around in the sky, heading straight in their direction. "There she is," Alucard announced, causing Sebastian to finally look up from the locket.
"She kept true to her word after all." The demon spoke as a smirk pulled at his lips. He pushed off the wall to stand up right. It didn't take long for that strange red lightning bolt to reach them. As it faded, Seras appeared in front of them looking so unbelievably cute, but also a little tired. She managed to awe them by standing there with her arms behind her back as she wore a short, knee length purple dress. It was evident that she was wearing a hint of makeup, maybe to hide that she was tired, but wasn't able to fully mask the bags under her eyes. They wondered how long she had been up before they even ran into her earlier that night. Had she been up all day and all night? Why? And why did she ask to meet them so early? Despite her looking so tired, she charmed them with such an infectious smile while her eyes twinkled with mirth, adoration, and a subtle shyness. They have missed this woman terribly.
"You weren't wearing this earlier." Alucard noted as he raked his eyes over that beauty multiple times.
"Did you get all dressed up for us?" Sebastian asked, bringing a blush to their bride's cheeks.
"Maybe," She murmured as she nervously allowed her gaze to fall to the ground. "We haven't…seen each other in forever. I wanted…to wear something…nice." Hearing her voice, seeing how shy she was speaking to them, it brought back such old memories and feelings. It just made them realize just how badly they have missed her these last few years. It felt so entirely good to be reunited with her again. They loved her more than anything in this world, and they never wanted to let her go ever. Sebastian felt desperate to ask her to stay with them forever. He needed to be reassured that she hadn't changed her mind again. He needed to know that she was ready to have a serious relationship with them; to stay by their sides and never let anything come between them again. Was she ready? But instead of asking any of these questions, he instead said something else.
"You look beautiful," Sebastian whispered with a small smile. The response he received was a giant, gorgeous smile from her. She was so entirely pleased by his compliment that she couldn't help but giggle. "I missed that laugh." The demon muttered before he lowered his gaze to admire her dress once more.
"I've missed you." Seras replied softly. "I've missed both of you so much." The smile then fell from her lips. "I'm sorry I put you through hell." Alucard's eyes instantly flickered back to her face.
"Why did you do it?" He asked her. "Why did you leave?" Avoiding his gaze, Seras stared at the ground with a shameful frown on her face.
"I'm sorry," She whispered, not giving them an answer to his question.
"At least answer me this, are you scared of us, Seras?" Alucard asked carefully. Wincing from that horrible question, the girl groaned under her breath before placing her head in her hand. Did she believe that if she didn't look at them, she didn't have to answer the question? The elder vampire wondered while he stared at her in shock. It was clear that she was trying to hide herself from the way she had her eyes closed and kept her head in her hand. She was trying to avoid answering that painful question. "Why?" Alucard whispered. "What did we do?"
"How…could you be scared of us, Seras?" Sebastian asked softly. "We had never…hurt you."
"And you stayed by our sides for so long. Why, after nearly a century, would you leave?" Alucard questioned.
"Were you scared to…be mated to us?" The demon whispered. This immediately caught Seras' attention. Her head snapped up so she could stare at them with wide eyes full of fear and pain.
"No!" She exclaimed hastily. "No! I wasn't scared to be mated to you guys at all! I wanted that! I still want that!"
"I don't understand," Sebastian sighed while he stared at her with such sorrow. "You want to be mated to us, but you're scared of us too? How is that supposed to work? How are we supposed to be together, Seras?"
"I…" Seras whispered while tears welled in her eyes. Realization was hitting her all over again, reminding her why she left in the first place. "I don't know." Feeling defeated, she dropped her head in anguish. This was something she had feared; something she had tried avoiding from the start. A painful breakup. She was hoping that she could eventually return to Alucard and Sebastian as if nothing ever happened. But now she saw that it was only ever a fantasy of hers. Why would she expect them to just welcome her back with open arms? This painful thought caused hot tears to pour down her face. They had promised that they would love her forever; for an eternity. Had they lied?
"Why…" Sebastian trailed off for a moment to stare at her in astonishment. "Why are you crying?" Unable to stand seeing those tears run down his mate's face, the demon reached out to cup her wet cheek. With a brush of his thumb, he cleaned her tears away the best he could. "I didn't mean to make you cry."
"Aren't you breaking up with me?" Seras asked through sobs. Alucard and Sebastian's eyes widened when they were asked that question. Is that what she thought? Why on earth would she think that?
"No, Seras." The No Life King immediately reassured his little mate.
"We're just trying to talk to you. We want to know how we can fix this so we can have a relationship with you." The demon added.
"Oh," The Draculina whispered in that broken voice as she desperately tried cleaning away her tears with the back of her hands.
"Ending things with us would hurt you that much?" Alucard asked her, sounding surprised.
"Of course!" Seras exclaimed as she looked back up at her mates. "I love you both so much! I didn't want to leave in the first place!" Alucard couldn't help but recall the memories he got from drinking Ozzy's blood. His mate, sitting in a dark hotel room, crying her eyes out because she had to leave her mates behind. She was absolutely heartbroken.
"Then why did you?" Sebastian asked again. "Why aren't you giving us a straight answer, Seras? You said that you would give us an explanation because we deserved it, but so far…you haven't truly explained yourself. Why did you leave, Seras? What scared you so badly that you felt like your only solution was to run away?" Seras stared up at them for a moment as she hesitated to give them the answer they were looking for. Sighing, the girl made up her mind.
"Our future," She whispered. "What the future holds scares me."
"Do you not want a future with us?" The demon asked.
"I do! More than anything, Sebastian!" Seras promised him.
"Then what can we do to fix this, so you won't be scared of the future from here on out?" Alucard inquired.
"I don't really know." The Draculina whispered before she placed her weary head in her hand. She looked so incredibly tired, especially after crying so hard. "I just don't know right now." Alucard stared at her for a long few seconds. He wanted answers; he wanted everything to be explained and to have a very constructive conversation that will help them move on. But clearly they weren't going to have that anytime soon, especially if they were tired.
"Come on," The No Life King muttered as he gently took his bride by her arm. She glanced up at him with a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "Let's get out of the sun. I find the light bothersome." He then graced her with a pleasant smile. "Why don't we get some rest before discussing anything else, alright?" Relief seeped into his bride's eyes and a small smile pulled at her lips.
"Alright," She whispered. Taking her by the hand, mostly in fear that she would run for a second time, Alucard and Sebastian led her down the street. "Where are we going?"
"I rented a penthouse at a hotel nearby." Alucard answered.
"Why were you up earlier today?" Sebastian asked as he peeked at his mate from the corner of his eye. He still clutched her locket in his right hand, having forgotten its existence entirely he hadn't returned it to her yet.
"I had things to do before nightfall." Seras responded so casually, as if a vampire being up and about during the day was completely normal.
"What was so important that you had to do at night?" The demon investigated a little further. What was she hiding? Why did she refuse to tell them anything? The little vampire shrugged her shoulders a little before giving a big yawn.
"I sort of have a job at night." She answered a moment later.
"A job at night?" Alucard questioned. "Don't tell me you strip for a living." This brought an endearing smile to their mate's face.
"No, Alucard." She laughed. "I don't strip for a living."
"Then what is it that you do?" Sebastian asked, managing to wipe that smile right off of her face. She blinked stupidly at him, almost as if she didn't entirely understand his question. Eventually, she faced forward while she thought carefully about how to answer that.
"Well, sometimes I keep the bookstore in Angerlo open late at night." Seras stated. "Oh! I own a bookstore by the way. I actually own several little shops, but I'm really proud of the bookstore. I love going there late at night, organizing the books, reading, and just relaxing. If you guys want to check it out, it's called Malphy's Collection." Malphy? Sebastian thought to himself while stared at her from the corner of his eye. As in Malphas? His true name? A pleased smile pulled at his lips. However, he was fully aware that his mate was talking on and on about this bookshop to avoid answering any of their questions.
"And other nights? Like last night?" The demon pushed, knowing that she was withholding information. "Why can't you be honest with us, Seras?" He asked when seeing that she wasn't going to cave anytime soon. Playing dumb, his mate glanced back up at him to give him that strange look.
"What do you mean?" She asked 'innocently', as if she could fool him. The demon sighed heavily from that response and lowered his head in disappointment.
"We know that you're hiding something from us, Seras." Alucard was front with her. "What are you scared to tell us?" Their mate stopped so suddenly on the street, forcing them to stop alongside her. There was such a dreary look in her eyes while she stared at the ground, afraid to meet either of their gazes.
"I'm afraid that if I tell you, you'll hate me." Seras whispered. "I'm not…ready for that yet. I want things to stay like this for just a little while longer." The little vampire then glanced up at Alucard, looking so pathetic as she tried to hold back tears. "Can we stay like this for just a bit longer?"
"Will you eventually tell us the truth?" Sebastian asked, earning her attention. Looking so regretful, the girl nodded her head.
"Yes," She promised. The three then proceeded to walk, nearing closer towards the hotel.
"Then you don't have to tell us right now." The demon responded.
"You can defer giving us an answer for just a while longer." Alucard added.
"But I don't think you have anything to be afraid of, Seras." Sebastian whispered, hoping to soothe his bride of any horrible thoughts or feelings that may have overcome her. "There's nothing you can ever do that will make us hate you." He then gave her a smile, even though she wasn't looking at him.
"I think you're wrong." She muttered under her breath.
The three monsters retired to the large bed in the penthouse. They slept so soundly, feeling warmer than they ever had before. It was safe to say that none of them had slept properly in the last seven years. But finally being reunited after so long, each one of them fell into such a deep, peaceful sleep. In that moment, nothing else mattered. All their worries melted away and nothing but happiness and contentment was felt. Alucard's arms were wrapped so tightly around the little vampire, keeping her back pressed against his front. Sebastian's fingers were tangled in her hair while his other hand had a firm grip on one of her hands. It was the most secure Seras had felt in years. But no matter how secure she felt, she couldn't fully be comfortable. There was still a nagging feeling in the back of her mind; a feeling that told her she should run before she got too attached.
What was she doing here? She was risking everything being there with them. But Seras couldn't help it. The second she saw Sebastian standing on that street across from her, the only thing she could think about was running to him. It was like something else had completely taken over her. Before she even knew what she was doing, she had run across that street and threw herself into his arms. You should have turned and ran! Remember what you are risking! That nagging feeling practically yelled at her. However, Seras attempted to persuade it. Maybe I was wrong to run in the first place. Maybe I should've stayed. Maybe I should've had more trust in my mates. Her instincts disagreed. They were buzzing like alarms, warning her of the possible danger and driving her mad. At least wake up. It spoke to her. Seras did wake rather abruptly. She bolted upright in bed with eyes the size of saucers.
"What time is it?!" The little vampire exclaimed, startling her mates awake.
"What?" Sebastian murmured, still a little groggy after being in such a deep sleep. Seras glanced over at the clock and was immediately relieved to see that it was only five in the evening.
"Oh," She sighed and then yawned.
"Do you need to be somewhere?" Alucard grumbled while he looked at the clock in disappointment.
"Not right now." Seras yawned again before she ran her fingers through her slightly tousled hair.
"Then come back to bed." The elder vampire whispered as he gingerly wrapped his fingers around her forearm. However, his Draculina didn't budge.
"I shouldn't," Their mate muttered with a frown. "If I go back to sleep, I have a feeling that nothing will be able to wake me." Not even her instincts. She then yawned for a third time. Shifting in bed, the girl faced her mates.
"What time do you have to leave?" Sebastian asked, though his tone hinted at his vexation.
"Not for another hour, maybe an hour and a half." Seras answered with a shrug.
"And I suppose you won't tell us where you'll be running off to?" The demon questioned, causing his mate to frown. She gave a light shake of her head.
"Why?" Alucard asked.
"Like I said, I want things to stay the same for a little while longer. I will tell you eventually." She reminded them. She wanted to keep true to that promise more than anything, but she was starting to have her doubts. If she truly was risking everything, maybe it was best she didn't tell them?
"Do you really think that what you're hiding will change how we feel for you?" Sebastian asked with furrowed brows. He just couldn't understand his bride's logic. Why would she think that?
"If you guys don't hate me, then you both will be really, really mad." Seras responded with a disappointed look.
"Are you afraid of our wrath?" Alucard couldn't help but ask. "Are you afraid that we might hurt you?" The little vampire's frown deepened before she broke eye contact with him and shrugged her shoulders.
"It's a little more complicated than that." Seras whispered. "I am so torn down the middle. I know that you guys would never hurt me. But…I can't help but feel that…it could still happen, especially if you're both angry with me."
"I don't know how to convince you that neither Michaelis nor I would ever hurt you, Seras." The No Life King replied. He looked bothered by what his mate was feeling. He couldn't wrap his head around how she could feel that way towards him. Had he ever given her a reason to believe that he would hurt her?
"Earlier you said that you ran because you were afraid of what the future may hold. What did you mean by that?" Sebastian asked. Seras finally looked back at them. Her eyes flickered between the two males while she thought carefully about what she wanted to say. It took a moment, but eventually she answered.
"I want the whole package." Seras whispered, looking shameful, as if she was asking too much from them.
"The whole package?" The demon repeated, unsure of what she meant by that. Once more, their bride looked away.
"I know that it probably never even occurred to you guys. It's probably something that doesn't even appeal to you. But it's something I wanted, and I know it's foolish. I know it's stupid." The little vampire scoffed as she shook her head. "But I want it so badly; more than anything."
"What are you talking about?" Alucard asked. Completely embarrassed, the girl's cheeks burned with a blush before she buried her face in her hands.
"I didn't just want to mate with you guys." Seras stated. "I wanted so much more, and it's selfish. I wanted us to leave the coven, to move away from the manor and settle elsewhere, so I can have you both to myself." Alucard and Sebastian looked at her in bewilderment. That's what she had wanted? Why hadn't she just told them that? Neither of them would have minded doing just that. In fact, it sounded delightful. However, their bride wasn't done. "It's dumb, I know, because I know how much you guys hate kids. But I wanted to have children with you guys." Completely thrown off by that, the males' eyes widened. "And I was scared that if you ever found…"
"Wait," Alucard interjected before she could say anything more. He then sat up in bed to tangle his fingers in his bride's hair. "Why do you think we hate children?" Her hands slipped away from her face and his mate innocently glanced up at him.
"What?" She whispered, looking so lost and confused.
"You think that we hate children?" The elder vampire asked with an arched brow.
"Well…yeah," Seras murmured.
"Why do you think that?" Alucard questioned with a shrug of his shoulder.
"You…killed…so many children." His mate whispered. Something stirred in the No Life King's eyes when seeing that horrified look on his bride's face.
"You mean those that were vampires?" Sebastian asked as he finally sat up in bed.
"You never…showed mercy to any of them. Not even when mothers pleaded for you to spare their child's life." Seras reminded them. "How…could…I forget that?" Alucard sighed heavily. He had thought she had understood.
"Seras, I did what I had to do." The old master told his fledgling. "It was our job to kill vampires of all ages. You were obligated to do the same."
"I didn't though! Not once!" The little vampire raised her voice while she gave him a defiant look.
"Unlike us, you had full control over your actions." Alucard retorted. "We were bound to the Hellsing; we had to follow her orders. You know this. Why are you acting like you don't?"
"This is what drove you away from us?" Sebastian questioned. "The Hellsing playing marionettist and manipulating our every action? We had no choice in the matter, Seras. Just because we were ordered to do it, doesn't mean that we were against having children with you. That life you want, the whole package, I want that with you. More than anything." The demon then snickered. "I know in the past I've shown a deep disliking towards children, but I could never hate our children." Perhaps it was because he was apart from her for so long or maybe he had really wanted it all along, but all Sebastian knew in that moment was how badly he wanted that life with his mate. Realization struck Seras. Tears welled up in her eyes while she stared up at her mates.
"You…want…that life…with me?" She whispered. The demon cupped her cheek while giving her a tender smile.
"Yes," He breathed.
"All of it," Alucard promised. "We'll live wherever you want, away from the coven; away from it all. Bear our children, have our sons and daughters." A pleasant shiver shot down Seras' spine.
"Really?" Their mate whispered. "You really want to have kids with me? You want to be fathers?"
"Yes," The No Life King purred as excitement sparked in his crimson eyes. A large grin settled on his lips before he wrapped his arms around his mate and pulled her into his lap. The little vampire curled up against him, burying her face away in his chest while he mindlessly played with her hair. "Let's have many." He brushed his lips over her temple, soothing her further and making her purr. "I want to have children with you."
"When is your next heating cycle?" Sebastian asked while a deviant look glinted in his eyes. That sinister smirk of his showed off his sharp teeth. He distractingly ran his fingers up and down her thigh, purposely going under the skirt of her dress to feel her bare flesh. Leaning in close, the demon traced her jawline with his lips. "We need to make up for lost time."
"Soon," Seras answered softly as she turned her head to kiss him on the lips. "Maybe in another week or two."
"Then we'll try for a child." The demon breathed against her lips. The little vampire shifted her head to peek up at her master.
"Does that life really appeal to you guys?" Their mate asked once more. Alucard leaned his head down to press his forehead against hers.
"Why are you having such a hard time believing this?" The No Life King whispered to his little queen.
"It's just that…I can't help but…keep thinking about that pregnant woman you killed." Seras spoke below a whisper. Alucard's brows furrowed together and he frowned.
"What are you talking about?" He asked.
"You killed a woman because she was pregnant. You didn't want children then, why would you want them now?" The little vampire asked while disappointment filled her eyes.
"Oh, you mean that woman." Alucard responded softly. He could only assume that she heard this little story from Alana; the traitorous woman who helped drive their mate away. "Seras, that was centuries ago, while I was still human. And the woman? She wasn't pregnant."
"What?" Seras whispered while she gave him a perplexed look. "But…"
"To try and cheer me up on a rather dreary day, she had told me that she was with child. At first, I had a hard time digesting what she had told me. But for a brief moment, before learning the truth, I grew excited for the arrival of my child. But she was lying, Seras." The elder vampire explained. "In an instant, she shattered my hope and robbed me of fatherhood. I was so appalled by her lie that I killed her." Even after learning the truth his mate proceeded to frown.
"I'm sorry she lied to you, Alucard, but don't you think killing her was going a bit too far?" Seras asked.
"Her life meant nothing to me." Alucard responded. "She was just a woman that I was fucking. Nothing more than that. We weren't even wedded." His fingers then touched her face. "Don't compare yourself to her, Seras. Even before we were lovers, when you were just a mere fledgling trying to find your own two legs, your life meant far more to me than hers ever did. It stings that you think I would ever hurt you."
"What if we can't get pregnant, Alucard?" The little vampire asked with a worried expression. "What if…I disappoint you like she did?" The No Life King snickered at this question.
"It's impossible for you to disappoint me, like she did." Alucard promised her. "Even if you are unable to get pregnant, which is very unlikely, Michaelis and I won't be disappointed in you. It would be ridiculous to get mad at you for something that you have no control over. On the other hand, if you lied about being pregnant, we'll probably be cross with you, but…I can hardly say that I would kill you or even hurt you for lying to us. Harming you in any way would truly be despicable." Did his mate really think them so monstrous? Did they come off as abusive? He thought that he had treated her well, but was he just fooling himself?
"I would never lie about that." Seras assured him with a light shake of her head. "That would be so cruel to do to you guys." Doubt appeared in her eyes then. "But if I was pregnant, would you guys be…happy?"
"Thrilled," Sebastian purred.
"We would be ecstatic." The No Life King chuckled at his silly queen. "We want you. We want what you want." Alucard then gave her a small smile. "I'm old and I'm tired, Seras. The life that you want sounds like heaven to me. Allow me to experience it all with you. Let me stay by your side. Let's mate. Let's have children. Let's spend the remainder of our years truly happy." Tears welled up in his mate's eyes while she stared up at him.
"I love you, Alucard." Seras whispered before she leaned in the rest of the way to kiss him on the mouth. "I love you,"
"I love you too." He breathed as he kissed her back softly. Her warm hands cupped his face.
"I want to start our lives together." His mate spoke, ending their kiss. "But I'm terrified." Seras admitted, looking so shameful. "I'm scared that you guys will change your minds. I'm scared that my instincts are right and that I shouldn't trust either of you."
"Of course you feel torn down the middle." Sebastian responded while he frowned in disappointment. "Your soul calls out to us but your instincts ward you away from us. It is quite the predicament."
"We are monsters, even among our own kind." Alucard reminded her for what felt like the hundredth time since he created her. "You are unable to help but be intimidated in our presence. Your instincts will always make you act cautiously around us."
"What I don't understand is that when it comes to us, you have always disregarded your instincts. Why are you listening to them now?" The demon asked with an arched brow. The girl licked over her lips before she lowered her gaze to stare at her lap.
"I'm afraid of what I'll lose." Seras whispered.
"What will you lose?" Alucard asked her. But as the seconds ticked by, he realized that he wasn't going to receive an answer. She proceeded to stare at her lap and keep her lips in a tight, thin line, refusing to open it. "What will you lose, Seras?" He tried once more.
"What are we supposed to do?" Sebastian asked. "How are we supposed to have a relationship with you if you can't trust us, Seras? You want to mate and you want to have children, but…how can we offer those things to you if you're too afraid to live a life with us?"
"Where is this mistrust coming from?" The No Life King questioned her. "You've been with us for so long, Seras. You should know us better than anyone. Have we ever mistreated you in any way to believe that we would purposely hurt you?" His mate didn't answer verbally, but she did shake her head 'no'. "Then why are you afraid to trust us?" The girl, looking similar to a child, merely shrugged her shoulders.
"You know why, you're just too afraid to tell us why." The demon noted.
"Even if I can trust you, even if I do tell you why I'm truly afraid, I fear that…you will take everything I love away from me, one way or another." Seras finally spoke.
"What are we supposed to do, Seras?" Sebastian repeated once more as he hung his head. He was trying to be incredibly patient with her; he was trying desperately to understand, but she was taking everything away from them. She was giving them no options and giving them nothing to work with. "You're afraid to risk letting us into your life but you're also afraid of losing us. What are we supposed to do?"
"Are you not aware that what you're doing to us is what you're afraid of us doing to you?" Alucard asked. Seras lifted her gaze to look up at her master.
"What?" She murmured, looking a little confused.
"You're afraid that we will take everything from you, but that's what you're doing to us right now. You're taking away everything, leaving us with nothing." He explained to her. "Are we supposed to let you go? Our mate? What about the home you dream of? Or the children we want? You offered the idea up to us on a silver platter, but now you're taking it all away because you're afraid to trust us? How is that fair, Seras?" Seras' eyes widened with realization.
"Oh," She whispered when understanding what she was doing to them. "That…isn't fair." She agreed and lowered her eyes once more. Pinching her chin, the demon lifted her head so she could meet his gaze.
"You need to trust us, Seras." Sebastian spoke, hoping to get through to her. "We don't want to lose you ever again."
"I don't want to lose either of you." Seras whispered. Slowly, a smile appeared on the little vampire's face and she snickered.
"What?" Alucard asked.
"You really want to be fathers?" Their mate asked one final time.
"The father of your children?" The No Life King questioned. "More than anything." Wrapping his arms tighter around his little bride, he pulled her closer to his body. "By the end of this year, we could be mated and have a child on the way, if you let us in your life, Seras." The smile on her face grew.
"Alright," She whispered. Alucard and Sebastian's eyes widened in shock.
"Alright?" The demon repeated softly. Their mate then nodded her head.
"Let's go home." Seras purred, saying the words they've been dying to hear for years.
"Home," Alucard whispered. There was such a look of pure bliss in the males' eyes, as if they had finally won a long and tiring battle. Showing his exhaustion, the elder vampire rested his head on top of his mate's. No more scouring the country looking for their mate. No more long, tiring days and nights. No more trying to persuade Seras that they would rather die than hurt her. They can finally rest.
"Are you welcoming us home?" The demon asked. The word felt unusual on their tongues. They have possessed many homes, but they have been without one in the last seven years. They had traveled from place to place, refusing to settle until they found their mate. And now, after seven years, they are finally going home with their mate. Where was home? In Angerlo?
"Yes," Seras responded with a bright, loving smile that warmed them. "We can finally have a home together."
"Where is it?" Sebastian asked.
"Outside of Angerlo." The little vampire answered while her eyes sparkled with adoration. "In a grassy field,"
"Do you love it there?" Alucard questioned, hearing the excitement in her voice.
"Yes," Seras replied. "I absolutely love living there. I hope you guys love it too."
"Home," The No Life King whispered with a faraway look in his eyes. "I want to go home with you."
"Before we do," The Draculina responded with a serious tone in her voice. She pushed out of Alucard's lap to sit on the bed in front of her mates, making it clear she wanted to be taken seriously. All that excitement and adoration drained from her eyes and all that was left was that monster she hid so well. Those fierce crimson eyes of hers glowed so brilliantly in the darkness, penetrating them. "I want you both to know that if things don't go well, if you both hate or resent me in the end, and try to take everything that I love, I will do everything in my power to stop you, even if it kills me."
"What are you talking about, Seras?" Sebastian questioned her. She was obviously threatening them, feeling very protective of whatever it was she was talking about. But for the life of them, Alucard and Sebastian couldn't understand.
"We already told you, we would never do anything to hurt you." Alucard reminded her.
"I know," She responded with a nod. "But I still need to act cautiously, at least until I know that you guys aren't a threat."
"A threat?" The demon repeated softly.
"I know it sounds cruel, I know." Seras added with a frown. "But I have to play this safe. I refuse to bring danger into my home and risk anything." Feeling shameful, the girl glanced down while she subconsciously played with the locket around her neck. "Please, try and understand. I left for a reason, because I was afraid. I'm allowing you back in my life, but…I still need to act cautiously until I prove my instincts wrong. You're my mates. I should trust you both. Neither of you have ever hurt me in any way, not emotionally or physically. I should trust you. I was wrong for leaving like I did. I should have talked to you guys. But that woman, she just…got in my head, made me afraid. Reminded me of…what you guys are and what you're capable of. I left…and I was wrong to do that. I'm sorry. I'm truly sorry that I did. I stole so much from you guys and…I can never make up for that." Stole? What did she steal from them? Their time with her for certain. But was there something else she was talking about? It sounded vitally important.
"Is there any way we can make you feel more comfortable?" Sebastian asked then. Seras' eyes flickered back up to meet his. Giving him a soft smile, the girl snickered under her breath.
"That's sweet, Sebastian, but I don't think so. I will feel better after we go home and you guys…get adjusted." Seras responded. "And…if things go well…maybe we can mate…later tonight?" She asked with a blush. "That is, if you guys still want me by then."
"You are quite the odd girl, Seras." The demon chuckled.
"There is nothing in this world that you can do that will drive us away." Alucard promised her. "We will still want you." A crooked grin that graced his lips. "And we will be eagerly waiting to mate with you."
"Unless you would like to mate now?" Sebastian asked in a deep, sensual purr before he ran his hand over her bare knee. The girl's body trembled from his touch and a soft moan escaped her lips.
"Tempting," She whispered as she placed her hand on top of his. "But…we can't." She then pushed his hand off, despite her wanting them to defile every inch of her. She needed to be patient. Seras bit deep into her tongue to suppress those urges. God, she was dying to be touched by them. She couldn't help but wonder if they've been indulging their sexual needs these last seven years. Do they have lovers that she doesn't know about? She didn't know how to feel about it. She did technically break up with them, so they had every right to sleep with whoever they wanted. But at the same time, she felt…betrayed. They were her mates. How could they do that to her?
"We can't?" Alucard questioned. "Why not?"
"Is there someone else?" Seras blurted without second thought.
"Shouldn't we be asking you that, considering you are hesitating to mate with us?" The No Life King asked. The girl gave a look of disgust, as if she just ate something terrible.
"No!" The little vampire exclaimed. "The last time I had sex was seven years ago with you two! I haven't even so much as looked at another man!" Pleased by that, the males smirked while they gazed at her possessively. No. No one else was allowed to touch her. They certainly would have hunted down and killed the man that had touched her.
"You should feel assured to know that we have been quite loyal too." Sebastian purred. "Though, Alucard did briefly flirt with a stewardess." He teased, earning a dark look from the elder vampire. Instead of being offended, Seras couldn't help but giggle. She forgot how much she enjoyed it when the two bickered like an old married couple. It brought back so many memories, especially of their Hellsing days when her master and the demon argued over something small.
"I wasn't flirting with her." The elder vampire growled through gritted teeth. "Don't be telling our bride lies."
"You were eyeing her, Alucard. Don't think I didn't notice." The demon pushed further.
"I wasn't eyeing her either." Alucard snarled.
"I've missed you both so much." Seras laughed, drawing attention to her. Alucard and Sebastian were stunned to see that large smile on her face. She was…laughing? Seeing her like this only reminded them of how much they missed her as well. "Let's go home now." Relief washed over the males. Home. Finally.
