Ruby took a deep breath, her eyes running over the stone slab in front of her. She felt a smile grace her lips as she squat down slowly letting her fingers run across the grooves before sighing.

She felt Blake rub her hand down her back making her hum.

"It feels like forever since I've been here." She whispered leaning into the woman next to her.

"It has been a bit…since graduation."

Ruby frowned looking past the grave over the cliff, she took a deep breath before letting it out leaning forward setting a rose down on top.

"Hey mom." She paused looking down at the grass before plucking a piece. "It's been a while, I gave birth to two wonderful children." She smiled, running her thumb along the blade of grass. "Liliana and Gabriel. Named them after Grandma Liliana and Blake's grandfather, Gabriel…along with that, I got married."

She said looking over to Blake who gave her a soft smile letting her hand rest on the redhead's knee. "I got married to the best woman I could've ever imagined. These past few months she's been there for me, she's been an amazing wife and an amazing mother."

Blake smiled feeling tears prick at her eyes, she ran her thumb along Ruby's knee before giving it a light squeeze.

Ruby let out a shaky sigh resting her hand on Blake's. "I really wish you could meet them mom." She said feeling tears slowly fall down her cheeks. She cleared her throat, wiping the tears away before looking back at Blake, without saying anything she leaned back again resting her head on the faunus' shoulder.

Neither one of them said anything, both sitting there enjoying the soft wind that blew over the cliff.

Blake opened her eyes looking at the grave as she ran her hand through Ruby's hair, the first time she visited Summer's grave Ruby said nothing. She didn't need to say words for Blake to know how much it hurt the redhead to look at the grave, how upset she was.

She also told her that she never had to say anything, to be honest Blake didn't know how. All her life she was never good at speaking, body language was always her way of speaking.

Even now her connection with Ruby was through emotion, while Ruby was one for talking she too grew accustomed to understanding the faunus through their connection.

But right now, sitting here, looking at the grave… She wanted to say something. Anything that could be heard by one of the most important people in Ruby's life.

She took a deep breath feeling Ruby lean away to look at her, she gave the woman a smile before looking at the grave.

"Ruby always used to tell me I never had to say anything, probably because I'm not good with my words, never was." She laughed a little, scratching her cheek.

"But I feel I should say something, something you can hear, my feelings put into words. I too wish I could've met you and thank you for bringing such a wonderful woman into this world." She adjusted her hand feeling Ruby's fingers intertwine with hers.

"The same woman who no matter what stayed by my side even after everything, the woman who brought into this world two beautiful children making me a mom… and making me a wife as well. All my life I never thought someone as amazing as her would ever love me, but I was wrong." She smiled looking at Ruby, silver meeting amber.

"I will protect and love her forever till death do us part, you have my word on that." She leaned forward resting her forehead against Ruby's, bringing her free hand up to wipe the quiet tears that flowed down the redhead's face. "So, thank you Summer." She said bowing her head a little before feeling Ruby's shoulder pushing against hers.

"That was beautiful." Ruby whispered bringing Blake's hand up to hers leaving a light kiss.

"Thank you. I've been thinking about that for a while now." She said feeling her face heat up, she scratched her cheek before Ruby laughed a little.

"I appreciate it a lot." She said looking back down at the stone slab. "We should probably head back, I don't want to stay away too long from the little ones, dust knows what Nora and Yang have been up to since we left."

Blake smiled, shaking her head as she slowly stood up holding her hand out for Ruby. "Thankfully Weiss and Ren are there, keeping those two under control." The redhead said as she wrapped her arm around Blake's, she looked back down at the grave before smiling. "I love you mom." She whispered as the two turned away going down the path they came.

"Thank you for coming with me, I appreciate it."

The faunus nodded, she leaned forward giving a light kiss to Ruby's cheek. "Wherever you go I'll be there."

"Same to you." Ruby whispered leaning more into Blake, closing her eyes as they walked down the dirt path.

"Say Ruby?"

The redhead hummed letting her fingers weave in with Blake's.

"When do you think we should tell your uncle? I know he's also important to you as well."

Ruby gave another hum slowly, opening her eyes looking down the path, something out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. She looked up, finding herself making eye contact with a bird, she watched as the bird tilted its head before cawing, the red eyes piercing hers.

She took a deep breath before closing her eyes again leaning against Blake's shoulder. "I will give him a call to stop by or we can visit him. He's been out on constant missions since dust knows when." She said a small smile forming on her face.

'Or I get the feeling he already knows.'
