Waking Up To Pokemon Chapter 10: The World Continues But Not Without Paperwork

Last Time

"...After about two months I stumbled across an article that suggested that there were pokemon out in the world that exceeded the doubling effect of extra large pokemon and would exceed three to four times the normal size at birth and could maybe even reach five times as big. This article offered three possible names for this phenomenon which were giant, king, or titan pokemon. With this information I felt that I found my golden swanna that would get me a sponsorship if I could not get in the top three, as if I could only find one mention of this phenomenon in all my searching it must be unique." Taking a breath I stare directly into Professor Oak's eyes and ask, "So, was I right?"

Professor Oak looks right back at me with a huge smile and says those words I have been dreaming of for years and dying to hear.

"Yes Alex. You have most definitely earned your sponsorship."

I can only imagine that the smile on my face is ten times that of the one on Brody's right now. There feels like there can be no word for how elated I feel in this second so i force myself forward with a choked up thank you to Professor Oak before turning and yelling one to Jor at the same time as I do a flying hug at him as he shoots forward faster then you would think his size allows. While I'm hugging his massive head as he rubs against me I have a stray thought that if anyone saw that just now from the cliff face they probably would have thought I was going to be swallowed whole. So I do the only thing I can with that mental image and burst out laughing.

Not my best moment from an outside perspective.

After I get a hold of myself I turn back to my boss and my sponsor, and that feels unbelievably great to say even if it is in my mind and ask, "So, what's next?"

Professor Oak looks at me as though he is struggling to decide whether to laugh at what I just did or to be serious as this occasion should probably be. Deciding to go with a simple smile he tells me what I need to know.

"First, you will need to capture Jor, right? Then we will have to go back to Cerulean City and get your documentation and some clothes for a day or two because this is going to be a much bigger issue than you imagine and it must be handled as quickly and quietly as possible so it will be easiest if you stay at my Lab until it is settled. We can go into more details once we are back at the gym and have your guardian present. Brody, do you have a spare pokeball so Alex can catch Jor?"

Brody, seeing how Professor Oak's face became more and more serious just nods and reaches in his pocket and removes what I can tell at first glance in a luxury ball before handing it to me. Professor Oak nods and says, "Good that will save us from having to change the pokeball later because a regular pokeball may not be sufficient. Alex catch Jor and then I'll have Marri teleport us to the gym, we have no time to waste." Before he finishes the sentence an alakazam, that must be Merri teleports to Professor Oak.

Seeing the seriousness I take the luxury ball and go up to Jor who perks up and lifts his head looking right into my eyes.

"Jormungandr, this is it, our chance to be partners and go out there to take the world by storm just as we trained so hard for. Are you with me?"

Jor stares at me with steely determination before raising his head to the heavens and letting out an earth shaking roar to let everyone we are here and ready for anything before looking back at me and nodding. I prime the luxury ball and throw it at his massive body, never breaking eye contact until he is transformed into digital energy and sucked into the ball. Turning back to the other after catching the ball I can only say one thing with my emotions so charged.

"We're ready."

I walk forward and Brody places a hand on my shoulder as Merri grabs his and Professor Oak's own shoulders before we are in the gym reception room. With barely a pause in their steps they lead me up to Brody's office as Merri teleports away again. Brody walks straight to his desk and picks up the phone as we sit down. A few back and forth sentences and he hangs up saying, Mr. Simms will be here in about fifteen minutes. Do you have enough things in your locker for a few days or do you need to get stuff from the home?"

Even though I am a little shaken by how things are progressing I force myself forward into the unknown. I replied, "I am good. I keep all my equipment in my bag for my journey here for safety so I have everything I should need here."

Brody nods and looks to Professor Oak before asking, "Where's it go from here Samuel?"

Professor Oak takes a breath and tells us, "As I will have to explain to Mr. Simms it would be better to wait for the full details but in simple terms Alex will have to come to my Lab so that I can securely contact those that need to know what happened and to start the process to activate Alex's trainer license early. We will also have to go over the greater responsibilities that come with my personal sponsorship. Over all, you are probably wondering about the rush and seriousness of all this. This we have to address now before Mr. Simms gets here and one of the key reasons we need to activate Alex's license, no one can know about Jormungandr without league permission. While we are in a gray area right now as I now know of his existence I am responsible to keep the details to as few people as possible and Alex needs to be a functional adult through his license so that he can both keep Jor and keep the information as limited as possible. Do you both understand? I will be providing Mr. Simms with the information he needs to know and you both will only be able to confirm or deny what I say but not provide any other information until you are both debriefed on how to handle this information and are under confidentiality contracts which as I said needs you to be a functional adult through your trainers license."

Both Brody and I nod and state our understanding.

15 Minutes Later

As we sit relaxing having finished some drinks and snacks while waiting for Mr. Simms to arrive we each take stock of how the day turned out. Before we know it there is a knock on the door with the receptionist saying, "I have a Mr. Simms for you boss."

Brody has her send him in and after a quick introduction, even if it is not needed based on who is in the room, Professor Oak takes over the conversation.

"First, let me ask us to put formalities aside to speed this up so please address me as Sam and may I call you Andrew, Mr. Simms?" Once Mr. Simms nods and Professor Oak continues, "I would like to thank you for coming so quickly and would like to give you an overview of what happened to day first but you should know that Alex is not in trouble. Did you know of Alex's plans for today?" At Mr. Simms' head shake he continues, " Alex and Brody approached me after my speech to the kids on being a pokemon trainer and inquired if I knew and could confirm or deny if Alex was in the running for my top three sponsorship. After I broke the news that he would not be able to get in the top three with his score he proceeded to ask about an individual sponsorship from me that he impressed me by discovering in his research that I have offered in the past. To make the long story short he had to show me a discovery that would make it worthwhile for me to sponsor him and he did so, however, the nature of the discovery is such that I must share with the higher ups in the league and cannot be shared at large. This brings us to the here and now, because of how this has to be reported and all the legalities and paperwork that follows I believe that the most effective way to go about everything is to have you approval for the sponsorship which will allow me to more easily grant Alex a slightly early license which would then make him a functional adult as all trainers are. With his adult stasis the confidentiality contracts he will have to sign will be binding while keeping those in the know to a minimum. As I am sure all this talk of contracts and such is daunting, I want to lay out the simplest and safest plan, with me so far?"

While Mr. Simms is clearly as if not more so off-balance than I am, we both still nod for him to continue.

"To make it simple I will lay out what I see as the easiest process. First, Alex with you as his guardian will sign the sponsorship contract, that I am sure Alex has read a copy of that is posted online as it is the same as it is the same as the top three contract with the exception of what I call the 'good faith' section that can be amended as needed at a later date. What this basically breaks down to is that as the condition for his sponsorship is a pokemon based discovery he will have to allow me to research this pokemon, as long as it does not take away from his competition too much, and submit additional reports on this specific pokemon. Any other changes would be negotiated and bargained on with 'good faith', meaning that if more was asked or restrictions were put in place something of fair or equal value would be offered in exchange. Still with me?"

Once again we nod for him to continue because it sounds fair. Professor Oak continues after a drink of water. "After the contract is signed your part in this will be mostly done with Andrew. This is quite frankly the most efficient way as once Alex is under my sponsorship legally with the contract I must support him unless he violates the terms. With his status I would also be his legal guardian until he has his license, which should let me push it through by the end of the day tomorrow if not today. That is also the second step though and the third step may have to be interchanged or combined due to how the league responds. This is also why it is important that Alex be under my sponsorship as I can throw my not inconsiderable political weight around to make sure that no bureaucrat tries to railroad Alex. This step will also contain the confidentiality agreement that both Alex and Brody will have to sign concerning the nature of the discovery. After this point it should be smooth sailing as Alex will be a functional adult and trainer even if he will not be able to start his journey until the season starts beyond training and if he wants capturing." Here he turns to me and says, "Though I will be using what free time I have between now, the league tournament and the season start to get as much research in on your discovered pokemon so I would prefer if you would stay with me at the Lab for ease-of axis."

After a few moments of running over everything said in my brain after the info dump as I am sure Mr. Simms and to a lesser extent Brody are as well, I nod and say, "From everything I have researched that sounds fair. While I can't deny I would like to start early, what you said makes sense and I could start training and team building though, is what you said about the Kanto Titan starters still true?" I finish, hopefully.

Professor Oak smiles regretfully and says, "Yes, while I will try and contact the breeders and some friends, it is unlikely that any are still available at this time as they are reserved very fast and I will not over pay to buy the right from under someone else. Though I will give you options on other starter pokemon and we can discuss it in more detail once we can look into what our options are."

I agree and look over to Mr. Simms who takes the initiative to answer with his thoughts. "While I can't say I have ever been in this position, what I have heard today makes sense and based on your reputation I find it unlikely that you would take advantage of Alex, Sam. So if Alex and Brody agree it is all in order then I will agree and sign."

Professor Oak smiles and says, "Then I will get the contract and we will go from there."

2 Hours Later

It had been a grueling two hours of reading the contract for sponsorship after Professor Oak teleported to his lab and back for someone like me that prefers to be outside and often active but I pushed though as I knew it was important and that things like this may be more often in my future if I am to move up through the ranks as quickly as I dream. As we made our way through the contract asking for clarification as needed there was little I did not expect from my research and if anything the terms for the reports were somewhat lax. My thoughts would often drift in lulls and especially now as I sit in the rec room off of Professor Oak's Lab having arrived about ten minutes ago after saying goodbye to Brody and Mr. Simms for now and having brought only my traveling bag, though it holds a lot, and Jors' luxury ball. But as I said my thoughts are wandering and keep coming back to the fact that if I had just contacted Professor Oak when I first found out about Jor I may have also been set up to get one of the Kanto Titans as a starter which seems unlikely now, the arrogance of youth some could say.

Anyway, as soon as we arrived Professor Oak showed me the rec room and said that he would be back as soon as he got everything ready for setting up my license. He would then have to contact the league for approval as while he can create the license and set up everything to have it officially activated, everything else needs to be done by the league directly. As it would happen as I finish ruminating on what has happened and my 'mistake' he walks back into the room to get me.

"Alex, it is all set on my end, we just have to call the league and it would be best if you are in my office as I do so in case I have to reveal Jor's nature as I think is likely."

I respond with an "okay" and stand up and follow him out with my bag just in case. We walk through the lab where some of his aids are hard at work before making it to his office after he stops one of the aids and tells them we are not to be disturbed. As I enter the office I see a sturdy wooden 'L' shaped desk facing the door with a multi screen computer setup and one length covered by stacks of papers while the one in front is mostly free with the exception of a few picture frames. Looking around the room I can see diplomas, plaques, badge mounts, and more pictures hanging on the walls as well as an inset trophy case that is packed full. As I am looking around Professor Oak makes his way to his desk chair and sits while asking me with a joking smile, "What do you think?" with his arms spread wide.

A little surprised by the question I just blurted out what I was thinking, "It's impressive but doesn't really seem like you to be honest."

Instead of taking offense he just laughs it off and says, "I get that often when I actually have people in here. Most of my work is done in the lab or the field and I just keep mementos in here that help me when I have to take care of more serious business. Everything in here reminds me of what I have accomplished and that because of what I have accomplished I can speak with authority and knowledge to others that are more free with and sometimes heavy handed with their own authority. I like to see myself as a grandfather, a researcher, and in some ways most prominently a pokemon enthusiast but at times I have to take a step back and talk to others as I once was, as a champion. This is something I may have to do today and though I do not know you well I think that between seeing how you acted today and reading your heartfelt essay that is included in your license application that you may have the potential to one-day reach similar heights. As such, as you listen and watch today and however long it takes to deal with this, I want you to take to heart not the power that someone such as I and maybe you in the future could wield but that the most important part of that power is when to wield it for a good cause and not just because you can."

By the time he finished his statement he was once again staring at me with a serious expression as he has done a few times since I met him, making me feel a weight on my shoulders and a need to engrave his words into my skull. All I can do is nod and say, "Yes, sir."

With my response he picks up the phone and begins to dial. A few seconds later someone must have picked up because Professor Oak says, "Hello, this is Professor Samuel Oak calling with an urgent matter for the league president Charles Goodshow. Yes, I'll hold."

I sit in front of him, stunned that to deal with our issue he calls the president of the pokemon league, not someone he knows in some licensing and appointments department or some other department. Before I can even think to say anything Professor Oak is back on the phone.

"Yes Charles, it is good to hear from you but unfortunately this is not a social call. I am currently in my office with a young man that I met and after some events requested a personal sponsorship from me. As you know, I only offer such a sponsorship for new discoveries and he learned as much from some indepth research. Once he proved he had such a discovery he was granted the sponsorship which was signed today, however, the nature of his discovery is a specific pokemon which due to the bond they formed caused him to have a concern over them being separated before he could capture the pokemon. I of course told him that as long as it was not a threat to himself or others and showed both a desire to go with him as well as enough compliance to his command that that would not happen whether or not I granted his sponsorship but that if I did and I felt it was necessary I would grant him the right to capture it. After viewing his discovery I decided it was in the best interest that he capture the pokemon as I could also confirm he would be granted his license in a few months. As it is, I feel I should activate his license immediately and as such I am calling you so I may do so."

He pauses and it is clear that President Goodhow is asking something before Professor Oak answers with a slight frown, "I suspected that you'd want to know and I was going to call back in a follow up but I wanted to get this done first. The discovery has to do with a phenomenon concerning a 'very large' pokemon that would require league contact."

As soon as Professor Oak stressed the words 'very large' pokemon in such a tone his took on a grimace and before he finished the sentence he pulled the phone from his ear while I could hear what must be Mr. Goodshow's voice talking very fast and much louder than it had been. After a couple seconds of that with Professor Oak interfering with comments like "that was not my intent", "Yes, I'm sure", before he finally said, "Very well, we will do it that way if we must. Bring what you need and we will meet you out back before going to the range." before hanging up.

As he looks at me with a sigh before saying, "That didn't go how I wished exactly but you will get you license today but only after we show off Jor to Charles." In that second I am at a loss as I realize I will now be meeting the President of the Pokemon League.

So it is that I am standing out back of Professor Samual Oak's Lab five minutes later with the man himself and his alakazam, Merri as we wait for the President of the Pokemon League to teleport in.

We are barely outside two minutes before an older man with long white hair and an equally long white beard dressed in khaki shorts, a red and blue windbreaker jacket and a blue baseball cap turned backwards teleports in with an alakazam. Professor Oak walks over with his hand outstretched to shake his hand as I follow behind. As we meet him Professor Oak says, "Hello Charles, good to see you again. Charles, this is Alex Polaris and Alex, this is the President of the Pokemon League committee Charles Goodshow." President Goodshow stretches out his hand and I shake while saying, "It's an honor to meet you sir."

President Goodshow chuckles and replies, "Good to meet you too but none of that, just call me Charles, okay?" I nod and he turns to Professor Oak to say, "Let's get the show on the road. While I am sure your people are trustworthy I want to confirm this and get all the paperwork signed before they are let in on the secret if needed."

Professor Oak places a hand each on both of our shoulders and nods to Merri who grabs the professor and teleports us away.

When we come out of the teleport I look around and it looks as though we are in a valley surrounded by mountains. I turn to the professor to ask where we are but Charles speaks up first.

"While I understand that you said Alex has command of the pokemon and trust your word I'm not willing to go on trust alone in this type of situation without backup so call them down."

While I am completely lost the professor is not and lets out a sharp whistle then waits. A second later we hear a loud echoing roar in the distance. I turn and ask, "What is that? Where are we?"

Professor Oak raises a calming hand to me and says, "In order, those roars were in response to me calling two of the strongest members of my team as Charles asked and secondly, we are in the mountain range leading to Mt. Hideaway which is at the very edge of the property I own. Do not worry here they come and they won't be needed as long as Jor listens to you."

At this I turn around to see where he is pointing and my jaw nearly drops as I see what can only be described as two dragons flying over two separate mountains. As they get closer by the second at tremendous speeds I can make out more and more details. One is a deep orange red body with blue under wings and a tan under belly with two horns and a long snout and a long tail ending in a flame. It is without a doubt a powerful charizard. The second is a deep tan with a cream belly and small wings with a blue underside and two antennae on its head. By this point they made their way to the professor and landed causing the ground to shake a bit. They are clearly powerful and battle hardened, for I can see a number of scars on their powerful bodies and must be nearly a foot taller than the norm of their species. Before I make any more observations I am snapped out of my thoughts by Professor Oak addressing them. "Ignis, Draco, how are you doing?" Ignis the charizard lets out a roar of "CHAAAR!" with a burst of flames to the air while Draco the dragonite lets out a deep rumbling yet musical "DrroooNiiite." This clearly means more to Professor Oak as he just nods and says, "Good. I called you both down because young Alex here is going to release a large pokemon to show Charles here and while I have the utmost confidence that Alex will be able to keep his pokemon Jor under control it is always better to be safe than sorry. Also I would not want you two to think that other pokemon was invading your territory. Lastly, neither of you are to engage unless I tell you or we are in clear danger that Merri couldn't stop." as he finishes he has an expression as though what he just said was laughable and I almost feel a wound to Jor's and my pride, almost.

As they step to the sides of our group with it lining up as Ignis, Oak, Merri, me, Charles and Draco Professor Oak turns to me and says, "Okay Alex, just release Jor in the valley and be prepared if he is a little out of sorts as this will be the first time he has been released and in a different location as well. Try to calm him right away and assure him that none of the pokemon here wish to fight as his instincts may tell him to attack with such strong pokemon around you. Got it?"

I nod, taking a breath before walking forward about eight feet, taking Jors' ball out of my pocket and priming it. As I release the breath I am holding I cock back my arm and throw Jors' ball about ten feet before it starts to release the red energy that is the digitized Jor. Now, I have seen Wave, Brody's 33 foot gyarados released and that only took a second before he was formed but for Jormungandr it took nearly three seconds until he is fully formed from the energy and he raise up nearly 70 feet in the air while the rest of his body stretches out behind him in a half coil. As he fully forms he lets out a deafening roar that shakes the ground and probably sends the wild pokemon running for miles around. Just looking at him I can see he is agitated so I take a few steps forward and scream up to him, "JOR, CALM DOWN! IT'S ME. CALM DOWN BUDDY! NO ONE IS GOING TO ATTACK!" I finish as he starts looking around but then his eyes fall on Ignis, Draco and Merri and I see his agitation return and he opens his mouth as it begins to glow red of a charging dragon rage so I step forward as I feel movement behind me and yell urgently, "STOP THIS RIGHT NOW JORMUNGANDR! THEY ARE FRIENDS AND YOU WILL NOT ATTACK THEM!" there is a second of pause before the dragon rage building in his maw disperses and he lowers himself about 20 feet towards me letting out a depressing "dooosss" that to me these days is a clear 'I'm sorry, don't be mad.' As I keep walking forward and he lowers himself so I can scratch his whiskers and tell him there is no harm done, I hear Charles behind me say, "Dear god Sam, you should have told me, I nearly had a heart attack."

After a few scratches and turning so I can see the rest of the group I am a little shocked as I can see the look of surprise on Charles face but also some on Professor Oak's and then there is a gleam that looks like battle lust in Ignis and somewhat in Draco's eyes. After some conscious steps forward from Charles and Professor Oak after which I scratch a little harder to keep Jor still they stop about six feet away.

Charles looks like he tries to speak a few time but then finds the words and says, "Alex, that was one of the most amazing and terrifying things I have seen but you handled it well and showed that Jor listens and will follow your commands so I have no problem approving the early license but there is much more we all will have to talk about. If you wouldn't mind returning Jor, we will head back to Sam's lab to discuss it."

I nod and turn to Jor saying, "You hear that, we really are going to be a team now. I need you to return but I will let you out as soon as I can so we can hang out and train, okay buddy?" After a little rumbling whine, Jor nods and rubs his head against my whole body as a nuzzle before I return him, which, if I am not wrong, went a little quicker than the first time.

In no time at all the three of us are back in Professor Oak's office after he said bye to Ignis and Draco and had Merri teleport us directly into his office. Once we get comfortable Charles explains that while giant pokemon called 'kings' exist, they are extremely rare and that there is no record of a shiny king. He goes on to explain that of all the recorded ones throughout history a quarter were owned by trainers and often are the naturally smaller species and not always battle inclined. The other three quarters are wild and their territories are declared off limits and a league secret and are protected by rangers. The few times in history they have become aggressive for whatever reason they caused untold damage comparable to rampaging legendary pokemon and had to be put down by rank eights or higher, often with many losses of both human and pokemon life.

It was due to this, that after much discussion it was decided that while I would be able to carry and train Jor, I would not be able to release him in public unless my pokemon or my life was in immediate danger or I was called up for at tier 5 of higher danger. Next, once I had gained my sixth badge I would be able to call Professor Oak to have him assess if I was qualified to choose to use Jor in public at will, though they both believe that as long as I had a clear record there should be no problem. Due to the restrictions placed on Jor it was decided that I would be given a cell phone so that I could call in a situation that may need me to release him and if not then I would have to file an after action report(AAR) and explain my reasoning for doing so. This was all on top of having my license/career flagged to be followed closely, though only cautionary and to the higher ups in the know. While there would be restrictions on me there were also fair concessions made in turn as Professor Oak said with the 'good faith' agreement. I would get the cell phone for free within reason and I would have my carry limit increased to seven so that I may always carry Jor and he would not take up one of my usable spots.

After nearly two hours of discussion, explaining the different rules to me, and lots and lots of paperwork including the confidentiality agreement that I signed and Brody would have to as well once he was read in on the 'king' secret which boil down to me never revealing the existence of 'kings' to anyone with the exception of Jor if I had to/choose to under the terms discussed before.

So finally, with all the paperwork done and my license officially registered Charles stood up to prepare to leave. He looked at Professor Oak and said, "Well that's it for now. While it was great to see you again next time we meet, let it be without all the surprises and paperwork. Also, while you do the research I know you are looking forward to doing with Alex and Jor I would like you to give me an assessment of Jor's rank for the record, but there is no rush." He says with a smile before turning to me to say, "Alex, it was amazing to meet you and Jor and I look forward to hearing about you and seeing you in the future. You have an amazing pokemon there so cherish him but do not overlook the others you gain because every pokemon can become great and powerful. If you remember that and keep pushing forward I can see you having a bright future. Take care and I will follow your career with much anticipation. Bye for now both of you, I'll see myself out."

After we say our own goodbyes and I make sure to add how thankful I am for the agreement he allowed me to have as well as how honored I was to meet him, Professor Oak asks me to follow him and leads me out the other side of the rec room after picking up my bag. As he leads me through the door he tells me, "This is my home attached to the lab. I most often stay here since my son is grown with a family of his own, and I have extra guest rooms where you will be staying tonight as it is getting pretty late. I will order a pizza for us and we can discuss where we go from here. Settle in and meet me in the living room when you are done. Is pepperoni okay with you?"

I say it is fine and go into the guest room he showed me. It is pretty big actually, as it is nearly the size of my room from the orphanage that I shared with another kid and has a nice double bed with an ensuite. I take a quick shower and change before grabbing my notebook and going to the living room. After five minutes Professor Oak comes in with the pizza and sits down telling me to dig in.

After we finish eating and having some light conversation we clean up and sit on the couches to talk. Professor Oak leans in and says, " Alex, I'm going to be honest with you. Today actually went smoother than I thought and though I couldn't have planned for this, I have a pretty light schedule for the rest of the week, so I would prefer if you stayed for the week and I could run some tests on Jor and discuss any behaviors you observed as he was growing up. We can adapt if you are really against it but this is what I would prefer and if it works out it would make it easier if you wanted to return to Cerulean, train or try to capture pokemon in the wild when I am more busy around the time leading up to the tournament or near the beginning of the next season. I know I am asking you to work around my schedule but this is to make it easier on both of us as the more information I gather now when I have time the less it will affect you once the season starts. Do you understand, and what do you think?"

As I finish nodding along with what he said I respond, "I do not have too much of a problem with that. If that is what you would like to do and you are okay with me using one of your rooms then I am mostly prepared to stay here until the start of the season if you would like. However, I would like to return to Cerulean tomorrow if it's okay as I left so quickly I wasn't able to say goodbye to most people and get the rest of my stuff and I would like to take you up on the trying to catch some pokemon in the wild as I would like to use this time to train them up as much as possible when not helping you with research Jor. Also if it helps you makeup your mind about letting me go tomorrow this is all the notes I took on Jor and the training we did so far and some of what I had planned for the future, though I ask that if it is possible that you don't reveal any of our training methods if you see anything you think is good and not common." I finish as I slide the notebook I brought down with me to Professor Oak.

He nods as he opens the notebook to take a look and says, "I would be more than fine with that even without the notebook but just from a glance this is more than enough for me to begin reviewing for tomorrow as you even have initial measurement of when you met Jor as a magikarp. On a side note just remember that you can't tell anyone about anything related to Jor and the 'kings' and it is best to stay away from the topic even with Brody until he is read-in though with him just use your best judgment. Also, I don't really cook much so if you are staying here you may cook or we will get takeout for meals." he finished bashfully.

After agreeing and having him tell me that he will tell Merri to be ready to take me to and from Cerulean City as needed I say goodnight as it has been a long day and I still feel as though my hand is cramping from all the paperwork.

AN: Yes, I have my characters nod a lot as I do in real life. I like nonverbal communications so you will see a lot of that.
