"You really think your parents can get my brother out?" Daisy asked Luigi while they were watching some tv together in his room. They were seated on his bed, sitting up next to each other.
"They said so, so they will." Luigi replied "They're not the type to lie about these type of things."
"How long do these kind of cases take?" Daisy asked, referring to false accused cases.
"Couple of months, depends, sometimes up to a year." Luigi answered "But they've normally got cases with people who are in jail, considering that your brother is in juvie it might differ."
Daisy nodded in response and continued staring at the tv absently.
Luigi put his hand on Daisy's, as to comfort her, and said "Everything's going to be alright."
Daisy turned towards Luigi and asked rhetorically "Is it ever?"
"At least you're not at the Koopa's residence anymore." Luigi responded carefully, trying to lighten the mood.
Daisy turned back to the tv and sighed. She scooted closer to Luigi and put her head on his shoulder, making him blush. "Are those Koopa assholes ever going to back off?"
"Knowing them, no, they're too stubborn." Luigi replied "Once we have enough evidence, get rid of the dirty cops, which we also need evidence for, then they can be locked up and this will be over."
"How long have you been trying to take them down?" Daisy asked, knowing that the Koopa gang has been around since before either of them were born.
"Mario and I joined when I was 14 I think, officially the day I turned 18, so 6 years, but taking them down has been going on for way longer." Luigi answered honestly.
Daisy tensed and asked "So, you're saying we could be in hiding for years?"
Luigi took a deep breath and responded "Let's hope not, we've been closer to taking them down than they have been in years, with the bastardo dead, lots of people have been coming forward with evidence against them, all of the gang."
"Good." Daisy replied "They'll get what's coming for them."
"Because of you we got more evidence too, the videotape from your school's gym." Luigi said. "Why didn't they just delete the footage though?" he asked.
"They probably thought I wouldn't remember, like Rosie and Peach, and didn't think it would be worth the trouble." Daisy answered.
"Oh shit, that's right." Luigi remembered.
"You think there might be footage from around the city? From when they attacked Yoshi and I?" Daisy asked.
Luigi turned to face Daisy and responded "Maybe, not sure though, as Yoshi would've remembered what happened, they only injected you with that shit."
"Can they delete street footage that quickly? Aren't those tapes from higher authorities?" Daisy asked.
"I'm running to Diddy right now." Luigi said while carefully getting out of his bed, so he wouldn't hurt Daisy in any way, and sprinting towards the door in his search for Diddy.
Daisy giggled at his actions and held her stomach soon after. This being hurt and weak shit is getting on my nerves. she thought annoyed.
"Diddy!" Luigi yelled while storming into his and Dixie's room.
"Jesus Luigi!" Dixie yelled in shock "What if we were hooking up and you just stormed in?" she added.
"Then lock you door, jeez, also no time. Diddy, you have to try and recover city security tapes from when Daisy and Yoshi were getting attacked, they can't get official city tapes deleted that quickly, right?" Luigi asked.
"I'll get to it right now." Diddy said while getting up. "Then we'll have more evidence against them." he added.
"Exactly." Luigi replied.
"How didn't we think of this sooner?" Diddy asked while walking through his bedroom door, followed by both Dixie and Luigi.
"Daisy thought of it." Luigi answered.
"Thank god she is as smart as she is hot." Dixie said, receiving looks from both Luigi and Diddy. "What? I've got eyes." she added.
Diddy rolled his eyes and said to Luigi "Dixie will help me out if I need help, this will probably night work."
"You go back to Daisy and entertain her smart ass." Dixie added while following Diddy downstairs.
Luigi colored a bit once again and walked back to his room. He opened the door and Daisy was still on his bed watching tv.
"And?" She asked while Luigi closed the door behind him and made his way over to her.
"Diddy's working on it." Luigi responded while getting on the bed again.
"Glad I could help." Daisy said.
Luigi inhaled and chose his next words carefully as he said "You getting hurt might be helping us with collecting more evidence, but that's not what I- we - want."
Daisy got closer to Luigi and grabbed his hand while rubbing it and said "It might not be ideal, but at least I didn't get roughed up for nothing."
Luigi turned towards Daisy and said "I'd rather not have you roughed up at all."
Daisy smiled weakly at him and repositioned herself so that her head was resting on his shoulder again. "I'll try not to get my ass kicked, again." Daisy joked.
"That's not what I meant." Luigi answered.
"I know." Daisy said "I want to help though, I can't just sit by and do nothing, not to mention that you guys have to take care of three more people." she added.
"I- We don't mind." Luigi responded.
Daisy looked up at Luigi and said "I can't thank you enough for what you've done for us, Weeg, especially what you've done for me. Not just taking care of me by feeding me and healing me and shit, but also listening and helping me with my brother."
Luigi got lost in Daisy's blue eyes and didn't know how to respond, so he just smiled at her. "I, uh, don't know how to reply, hehe." Luigi said awkwardly.
Daisy smiled back at him and said "A smile speaks a thousand words."
After a few moments of silence Daisy said "You might be taking care of four people soon, hopefully."
At first Luigi was puzzled because of what Daisy said, but then he realized she was talking about her brother. "Yeah, most likely." he replied.
Daisy got a bit uncomfortable, which made Luigi rub her arm, as a gesture to help her calm her nerves. She accepted the embrace and made herself more comfortable in response. After a couple of minutes of silence, Daisy yawned.
"Sleepy?" Luigi asked.
"A bit." Daisy responded.
"Wanne go to sleep?" Luigi asked.
"Yes, if it's alright with you?" Daisy asked in return.
"Of course." Luigi replied while turning off the tv and putting the remote on his nightstand.
"Can we, um, stay like this? It's comfortable." Daisy asked shyly.
Luigi blushed in response and replied "Whatever you want."
Daisy smiled at him while he turned off the lights. Her smile was the last thing Luigi saw before dozing off.
"Oh my gosh." Dixie said in horror while covering her eyes.
"Fucking hell." Diddy said while looking at the computer screen.
Dixie avoided the screen and said "They've gotten more aggressive."
"You can say that." Diddy said while downloading the footage.
"Poor Daisy." Dixie added.
"We've gotta lay low, we can't have this shit happening to any of us." Diddy said.
"How did she even manage to jump over that wall and carry Yoshi after that?" Dixie asked impressed.
"She's strong, that's for sure." Diddy said "She'd make a good addition to our team." he added.
"That's up to her, let's not forget these girls are in college, trying to get a degree, before all this shit happened." Dixie reasoned.
"I know." Diddy replied "I've got a feeling that Daisy will stick around though." he added.
"I know what you mean, she's gotten close to all of us, especially Luigi." Dixie answered.
"And before Funky, Donkey and Mario fucked up, them too. The three least trusting people who hate strangers, might I add." Diddy said.
"However, Peach and Rosalina keep more to themselves and Yoshi." Dixie said.
"They're rich kids, they've probably never been in a difficult situation, let alone be kidnapped and shit." Diddy replied.
"How's that download coming along?" Dixie asked, trying to change the conversation.
"It's got a few more hours left, hacking the states proprietary isn't exactly easy." Diddy explained "I've gotta monitor the screen to make sure everything goes well."
"Then I'll keep you company." Dixie said.
"You can go to bed, I don't mind." Diddy assured her.
"Not working, I'm staying right here." Dixie stated.
"Alright then, have fun staring at a boring screen the whole time." Diddy said.
Dixie reached for her pocket and pulled something out of it. "I brought uno because I knew this shit would take long." she said with a playful smile.
"You're on." Diddy said in response.
Great, my stomach hurts like hell again, which means it's morning. Daisy thought while waking up from pain. She slowly opened her eyes and saw that she was still cuddled up with Luigi in his bed. He seems so peaceful. Daisy thought while looking up at him. He was smiling in his sleep while breathing steadily. Cute. she thought while smiling at him. She repositioned herself a bit more comfortable, which made her stomach hurt less. I'll wait just five more minutes before waking him up. Daisy thought while closing her eyes. After a couple of minutes Daisy heard a knock on the door, which didn't seem to wake Luigi up. Heavy sleeper much. she thought.
"Come in." Daisy said as quietly as possible, but audibly enough for the person behind the door to hear.
The door opened and it was Dixie. "Why are you whispering?" Dixie asked, not being able to look in the room because it was still dark in there.
"Luigi's still asleep." Daisy whispered back.
"Oh, he sleeps through pretty much anything except for yelling, don't worry." Dixie said while finding the light switch. "I'm here with some painkillers and good news." she added. She walked closer to the bed and spotted Luigi and Daisy still being cuddled up.
Daisy slowly got out of the embrace and scooted closer to the side where Dixie was standing. "What's the news?" Daisy asked.
Dixie started hooking up Daisy to the IV again and said "It took us all night but we got all of the footage of what happened to you and Yoshi."
"Meaning you have more proof to put these assholes behind bars?" Daisy asked.
"Yes." Dixie answered.
"Good. People like them deserve to rot." Daisy replied coldly.
Getting a bit scared, Dixie tried to change the subject by saying "You two looked cute all cuddled up."
Daisy gave Dixie an annoyed look and said coolly "Luigi's comfortable to sleep on."
Dixie giggled in response and said "Looks like he also makes you feel comfortable."
"Yeah." Daisy replied while averting her gaze to Luigi "Not easy for me to feel that way with someone." she said more quietly.
"For what it's worth, Luigi's a great guy, he doesn't have the experience though, you might have to teach him a thing or two." Dixie said honestly.
"Who says I've got the experience?" Daisy asked in return, averting her gaze back to Dixie.
Dixie seemed surprised by this "Oh, I just assumed you know. I don't mean this in a bad way, but you're very easy on the eyes." she responded.
"Many tried, believe me." Daisy answered while letting out a chuckle, and grabbing her stomach soon after. "But they never caught my eye, most of them had a shitty personality or weren't looking for anything serious." she added.
"You don't fool around, I get it, I just got lucky with my childhood best friend." Dixie replied.
"Yeah, I'm not that type of girl, Peach and Rosie on the other hand." Daisy responded, making Dixie chuckle.
"They're the opposite of you?" Dixie asked.
"Yeah, they don't do anything except fooling around." Daisy answered "They don't understand that I'm not wired that way, if we aren't being serious then why would I bother wasting my time?"
"I get you girl." Dixie replied "When the argument pops up you've got someone on your side."
Daisy smiled at Dixie and said "Thanks Dixie, for everything you know."
"No problem, I'm just happy to have a girl around here." Dixie answered while returning Daisy's smile.
"Now go get some sleep, those bags can't even be covered by the shit ton of make-up Peach uses." Daisy joked.
Dixie laughed in response, got up, walked to the door and said "Don't forget whose helping you heal, Daze." before closing the door behind her.
"Never!" Daisy replied with a smile, trying not to laugh because it hurts.
"Eh? What?" Luigi asked, having been awoken from Daisy yelling at Dixie.
"Oh shit, sorry Weeg, forgot you were asleep." Daisy apologized.
Luigi rubbed his eyes and asked "Who were you talking to?" when he fully woke up.
"Dixie, she hooked me up on the IV again." Daisy replied.
"Are you in pain?" Luigi asked.
"It's already starting to be less painful, the IV is working." Daisy replied, knowing that Luigi will worry either way.
"I can ask Dixie to up the dose?" Luigi suggested.
"No, I'm fine." Daisy replied while getting comfortable in the bed again while minding the wires of the IV. "You can go back to sleep now." she said once she was seated.
"Normally I start setting the table for breakfast now." Luigi said while staring at his alarm clock.
"Hmm?" Daisy said half asleep. "Can you turn off the lights and sleep in for once, you of all people deserve it the most, Weeg." she added.
Luigi looked down at Daisy and thought How can I argue with her, and she is right, someone else can make breakfast. "Okay." Luigi simply replied after he turned off the lights.
"You deserve a break. Even if it's just resting for a bit with your eyes closed, you don't even have to sleep." Daisy said and yawned soon after. Luigi didn't argue with that and dozed off soon after, not having realized how tired he was after all.
"Why is there no breakfast?" Mario grumbled annoyed as he walked into the kitchen.
"No clue, looks like barely anyone is downstairs." Funky grumbled in response, as he was also annoyed that there was no breakfast set on the table.
"How old are you two? Just make yourself a sandwich like a normal person." Rosalina said while rolling her eyes and leaving the kitchen, as she had just done the same and cleared the table of her dishes and such.
Donkey walked into the kitchen as Rosalina left it and he asked Mario and Funky "Is everyone going to give us the side-eye?"
"And we have to make our own breakfast." Mario replied.
That comment made Donkey give Mario the side-eye and say "That's what normal people do, Mario. Have you never made yourself a sandwich?"
"Whatever." Mario scoffed while searching the kitchen for food.
Cranky rolled into the room and said "Normally I'm the only cranky one around here, let's leave it that way, assholes."
"Looks like we're on our own for breakfast today, gramps, what do you want on your sandwich?" Donkey asked his grandfather, ignoring the comment he made just a minute ago.
"I don't fuckin' know, surprise me." Cranky answered.
Donkey rolled his eyes in annoyance, but prepared his gramps a sandwich anyway. He handed it to him soon after. Cranky accepted the sandwich and bit in it, but soon after spit it out. "The fuck is this shit?!" he yelled annoyed.
"Peanut butter and jelly?" Donkey responded confused.
"This is the most disgusting shit I've ever put in my fuckin' mouth, and trust me, that says a lot." Cranky yelled while sweeping any reminders of the sandwich off of his tongue with a napkin. When he was done he added "Luigi's way better at this shit than you fuckers are."
"Well guess what? Luigi ain't fuckin' here." Mario shot back annoyed.
"And whose fault is that?" Cranky yelled back "Don't think I didn't hear the kid yelling, which he never does. Whatever you fucks did, you better make it up to him."
Mario shot up from his seat and left the house, with the sandwich he made.
"Now make me another sandwich, and not one that tastes like shit." Cranky said annoyed.
"Do you know what happened yesterday?" Peach asked Rosalina.
Rosalina turned her attention away from Yoshi, to Peach. "They listened in on a conversation Luigi and Daisy had, without their knowledge." Rosalina replied.
"Oh my, that's awful." Peach answered "Don't they value privacy?" she asked.
Rosalina sighed and said "Apparently not, we should watch out when we're talking."
Peach was lost in thought for a second before she asked "Do you know what the conversation was about?"
Rosalina raised an eyebrow and responded "And that question isn't invading privacy?"
Peach rolled her eyes and said "You know what I mean, Rosie."
"Something about Daisy's past." Rosalina responded.
Peach's eyes shot open and she said "That's the worst kind of conversation to eavesdrop!"
"You tell me." Rosalina replied.
After a couple of minutes of silence, Peach said "Once Daisy is healed, she will kick their asses, at least we'll have some entertainment for a while."
Rosalina chuckled in response.
"Peachy? Rosie? When you two are done talking, will you play this game with me?" Yoshi asked the girls kindly.
"Of course we will." Peach answered.
"We're done talking, how do we play this game of yours?" Rosalina asked.
Yoshi smiled in return and started explaining the game to the girls.
Luigi slowly woke up and after a couple of minutes he opened his eyes. He saw Daisy, still wrapped in their embrace, but she wasn't asleep anymore, she was watching tv. "You didn't have to keep the lights off and the sound of the tv off, I pretty much sleep through anything." Luigi said.
"I didn't want to risk it, you were very sleepy, Weegie." Daisy replied teasingly.
Luigi raised his eyebrow and asked "What's that supposed to mean?"
Daisy looked from the tv to him and said "It's already noon, silly."
"Noon?" Luigi asked as his eyes widened. He looked at his alarm clock. It read 12:43. I didn't prepare breakfast or noon for anyone? he thought.
"Stop worrying, you don't have to make food for everyone all the time." Daisy said as if she could read his mind. "Normally people do that on their own, Weeg. If I were you I wouldn't prepare food for everyone everyday."
She does make a lot of sense, why do I always have to be the one to make food for everybody? Luigi asked himself, then he realized something else. "What about you? Have you eaten anything yet? I'm supposed to be taking care of you!" he blurted out.
"Weeg, calm down." Daisy said before he could ramble more. "Rosie came in to check on me, she brought me some food and something to drink. I told her that no-one should disturb you as you clearly needed the rest." she added.
"But-" Luigi started.
"No buts, Weeg, jeez." Daisy interrupted. "There's some water and a sandwich on your nightstand if you want it."
Luigi eyed the food and then he looked back at Daisy. Daisy noticed this and got off his shoulder and slowly sat up. "There, now eat." she said.
Luigi grabbed the food and started eating, while realizing what Daisy was watching on the tv. "I didn't know girls watched South Park, I thought they would find it woman hating or offensive or some shit." he said.
Daisy chuckled and grabbed her stomach soon after. "Let's say it's my guilty pleasure." she said.
"You alright?" Luigi asked.
"Yes, I am fine, if something's the matter I will tell you." she responded. "Now continue eating your food and lemme watch the tv."
Luigi chuckled in response, but did as she asked anyway.
After half an hour of Luigi eating his food and Daisy watching her cartoon, a knock was heard on the door.
"Come in." Luigi said.
Diddy opened the door and asked "You two got a minute?"
"Sure." Daisy replied.
"Yeah, come in." Luigi added.
Diddy walked into the room and closed the door behind him. He walked over to the two and took a seat on a free spot on the bed. "I know you two aren't on the best terms right now with Mario, Funky and Donkey, but they did say something that I agree with." Diddy started.
Daisy stayed silent and Luigi sighed audibly. "What is it?" Luigi asked.
"We've gotta lay low for a couple of weeks." Diddy said.
"Because I got attacked in the city?" Daisy asked.
"Yes, as Dixie and I saw on those videotapes yesterday, the Koopa gang has gotten a shit ton more violent." Diddy explained.
"Can't have anything like that happend to any of us anymore." Luigi said.
"Exactly, the Koopa's don't know where we live or what we look or sound like. We have to keep it that way." Diddy explained. "We have to make them think that we're not from around here and that it was just a coincidence that they ran into Daisy and Yoshi in the city." he added.
"In a couple of weeks I'll be all healed up and I'll be able to help you guys." Daisy said.
"No." Luigi said quickly.
"No?" Daisy said while turning to face Luigi.
"Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see you getting hurt all the time, Daze." Luigi answered.
"There won't be a next time, as we won't leave the house alone under any circumstances." Diddy butted in.
Luigi and Daisy turned their attention towards Diddy again. "What makes you think any of those three fucks will do that?" Luigi asked.
"I told them we only would if they would." Diddy replied.
"And that hasn't stopped them before?" Luigi asked sarcastically.
"They know we ain't fuckin' around, Lou." Diddy responded. "Especially since you got as mad as you did yesterday and haven't left your room today. Those three fucks, as you called them, know you're serious and not to be fucked with."
"Good." Luigi said.
"They're still getting their ass kicked either way when I'm back on my feet." Daisy stated.
"And I wouldn't expect anything less from you." Diddy replied with a chuckle. "You're showing them how much they rely on you by not doing what you usually do everyday, Lou." he added.
Luigi looked confused and asked "You mean making food?"
"And all the other shit you do around the house normally, let them do their shit on their own for a while. They'll realize how much they've been taking advantage of you." Diddy said seriously.
"Told you, you need some vacation days, Weeg." Daisy added.
"Hard to take a vacation in this environment." Luigi responded sarcastically.
Daisy rolled her eyes and Diddy said "You know what she meant."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Can we go back to watching very educational tv?" Luigi joked.
Daisy tried to stifle a laughter while Diddy looked confused at the tv and realized he was talking about South Park. He chuckled, got up from his seat and said "Alright you two, have fun."
"Bye." Luigi and Daisy said at the same time as Diddy left the room and closed the door behind him.
