Ryker's is in serious trouble. Most if not all the convicts and criminals are free and running a rampage, also heading into the city to cause more havoc. Paul and his friends tried to handle the situation, but it's gone out of control. Five of his most dangerous enemies are running free, and the situation is only going to continue to get worse before it gets better. Paul chased after Hurricane and was heading for the highest point on Ryker's.
"Venom? Blite? Do you read me?" Paul said as he stopped just short of where Hurricane was suppose to be. "How are things going on your end?"
"Badly." Venom answered. "There are convicts everywhere. There's just too many of them. I don't see how we can capture all of them."
"We can't. Ray told me that some of them are escaping into the city." Paul said. "You two get out of there and just go lend Ray a hand."
"What about you?" Lindsay questioned.
"I'm still after Hurricane. He, Fang, Iguana, and Eagle are all out. Ray also told me that Balancer is making a comeback." Paul said. "I've got to try and stop them from escaping. You two just pull back."
"You can't take those guys on alone! You could get killed!" Lindsay said as that was a terrible idea.
"When has that ever stopped me?" Paul questioned as he ended the talk and just headed straight up. When he got up there, Hurricane was waiting for him.
"About time you showed up. I was beginning to think you didn't like me." Hurricane claimed.
"I don't. That's why I'm here." Paul said. "What do you say we just skip to the part where you go back in your cell and you actually wait until parole, while also trying to become a better person?"
"Nope. This way is more fun!" Hurricane claimed as he had wind gather around his fist and he shot it right at him, but Paul jumped right over it. When he was in the air, Paul shot a couple lines and they connected to Hurricane. Paul pulled him straight towards himself and kicked Hurricane back down. "That all you got?"
"That's my line." Paul claimed. Hurricane got back up and was gathering wind around him again.
"You're not taking me, Spider-Man. I'm just as strong as ever!" Hurricane claimed as he unleashed a powerful blast of wind, but Paul flipped out of the way of his attacks.
"And I know your weakness!" Paul said as he shot a couple lines and they both connected with Hurricane's arms. "As long as your arms are restricted, your control over the wind isn't as strong!" He pulled with all his might and pulled Hurricane towards him. He hit Hurricane across the face a couple times, then gave him a spin kick to push him back. "Now, how about you stop acting like a child and we actually talk this over. What the hell is going on here?"
"You'll see soon enough." Hurricane claimed.
"But you won't." Paul said. He shot more webbing and it hit Hurricane right in the eyes and blinded him. While he was blinded, Paul hit him right across the face to knock him back. Once he did that, he used his webs to try and hold him down. "That's one, but what happened to the others?"
"We're right here!" Paul turned around and saw Eagle charging straight at him. Paul jumped up and flipped right over Eagle. However, he wasn't safe yet. His spider sense alerted him of danger from below, so he jumped out of the way. That was right when a claw shot straight through concrete with Iguana digging his way through. Fang showed up himself as well with him using his claws to cut Hurricane free.
"Good kitty." Hurricane said, but Fang growled at him for that. Paul readied himself for a fight, but his troubles were still coming. He heard a helicopter coming. When he turned to look at it, he saw Balancer in control and hanging out of the chopper.
"No..." Paul whispered as he still had hope Ling would be in control. Balancer shot out some dark blasts at him, but Paul jumped out of the way. Then, Balancer jumped off the helicopter and landed on the roof to join the fight. "Ling!" Paul called as he rushed straight at him and grabbed a hold of him. "Ling, listen to me! Don't let Balancer control you! I know you've got to be in there!"
"Ling is gone!" Balancer claimed as he freed himself, then punched Paul right across the face. He blasted Paul and knocked him down. Five of his enemies gathered around him and were ready to crush him like the arachnid he's named after.
"Okay... Up we go." Paul said as he stood back up. "I don't want to do this to Ling, but you're not leaving me much choice, Balancer." He was ready to fight, but he didn't get the chance. Eagle flew around as Hurricane unleashed a blast of wind that hit Paul and sent him flying. However, Eagle intercepted Paul and tackled him back to the roof. Fang took his turn as he smashed his fist against Paul. Iguana hit him with his tail with Eagle flying back around and kicking him right in the head. Iguana stomped down on him with Fang kicking him hard. Hurricane and Balancer blasted Paul with their powers and he was knocked near the edge of the roof. They weren't giving Paul the chance to fight back. The roar of thunder signifies a difficult situation Spider-Man faces as he might not be able to stop them on his own like this.
"Let's finish him!" Fang declared, but Iguana held out his arm and stopped him from doing anything. There was one more there. Someone walked over with large footsteps being made. The other five cleared the way and allowed Spider-Man to get a look at who was behind this. When he looked up, he couldn't believe who it was. "You?!"
"Hello, Spider-Man." Standing before Paul was some sort of machine. It had dragon-like feet and claws. The metal was a dark color with a red light in the center. This thing also had five tendrils coming out of it's back and the ends looking like dragon heads. The part that really surprised Paul was the head. The head was that of a man with black hair, but parts of the left side of his face looked burned and scarred. Despite all that, Paul knew who this man was.
"Hydra?! You're alive?!" Paul said as he couldn't believe it. Hydra, also known as Spencer Mame, was Christoph Silvio's head scientist back when Christoph was White Streak. In fact, he created some of the villains Spider-Man has fought. He used technology similar to a villain the original Spider-Man fought, but that's what also helped him become a villain. However, Paul thought he was gone for good. "How can this be? I saw you fall... A few years ago, you fell and were caught in an explosion. I could have sworn you died after that."
"Well, as you can see, I've survived; and I'm stronger than ever before." Hydra claimed. "I'm sure you would also like to know about this." He reached behind him and pulled out a case holding a blue/green glob inside moving like a lava lamp. There was a label on it that allowed Paul to see what it was.
"The D-EL8 virus! You have it?!" Paul said as he couldn't believe it. "That means... That means it was you! You've been behind everything!"
"Took you long enough to catch up." Hydra taunted. He took one of his dragon heads and coiled it around Paul's leg and lifted him up bring him to Hydra's face. "Stay out of the way...or die." He warned before he had one of his dragon heads shot him with a laser and Paul screamed from the pain. The pain was too much that Paul ended up blacking out from it. Once that happened, Hydra threw Paul right off the building and into the sea. "Well, now that that's done, we can get to work." He said as he turned to his new team. "You all have your assignments. Let's get to work." All of them agreed and got work. With Hydra's return comes New York's possible demise. Hydra assumed that Spider-Man would have been finished after what he just did, but that wasn't the case. Paul did float around in the water, but someone found him and was able to rescue him.
...
Times Square
New York is facing a serious danger now. Hydra is back in action and he plans to make the most of it. With so many people gathered in Times Square, he assumed it was the perfect spot to put his plan into action. He stood at the top of a building and was ready to begin his plan.
"This is only the start." Hydra said as he was taking pleasure in this with him putting a special gas mask over his face. Taking the virus in his hands, he opened it up and it was unleashed it like a smoke bomb. The virus flowed down in a cloud and gathered around people, infecting them with this dangerous virus. Hydra laughed as he spread the virus everywhere and set the gears in motion towards New York's destruction, the virus hitting close to home.

Paul
Paul was in bad shape after that fight. Something like that would have killed him, but he was saved. He could tell he was alive because he was starting to wake up, felt groggy, and was in pain.
"Aw... Damn..." Paul groaned as he sat up. He took a look at himself and saw he was bandaged up. He was still in pain, but he was alive and that was good enough for him. When he took a look to see where he was, he knew instantly where he was: Sabella's place.
"You're awake!" He looked to the side and saw Sabella.
"Sabella? What happened? How did I get here?" Paul questioned.
"I heard about what was happening at Ryker's. I was concerned, so I tried to get there. It would seem I got there just in time." Sabella explained. "I got in contact with your friends and told them what happened to you."
"You...saved me?" Paul said as he was a little surprised she would do that.
"Just because you broke my heart doesn't necessarily mean I want you dead." Sabella claimed.
"Some people would beg to differ on that. How long was I out?" Paul questioned.
"About three days." Sabella said.
"Three days?!" Paul said as he couldn't believe it. That was three too many. He spotted his costume and quickly changed into it with him heading to the balcony and jumping on the railing.
"Wait! You're still injured!" Sabella said.
"There's no time for me to worry about myself." Paul said. He looked out to see it was night, but the city was still alive. Lights were flashing, smoke was rising, and sirens could be heard. It didn't sound good out there at all. He needs to know what's going on out there. "Guys, come in! Venom! Blite! Somebody answer me!" He hoped they would answer soon.
"Spidey?! You're back?!" Thomas answered.
"Thank goodness! Finally, some good news!" Lindsay answered.
"I'm fine. I'm with Sabella right now. Give me a status report. What's going on?" Paul said.
"It's chaos, man. It's pandemonium out there." Thomas reported. "Many prisoners from Ryker's got out and is bringing havoc upon the city."
"And that's just the tip of the iceberg. The D-EL8 virus has been unleashed." Lindsay said. That's exactly what Paul was afraid of. "People are getting sick, possibly dying."
"My brother has taken action himself." Sabella said as Paul knew he would, and he knew he wasn't going to like. "The whole city has been quarantined. No one is allowed in or out of the city. My brother and his men are seeing to that. He's also set up base camps and is bringing everyone and anyone he can for questioning, and using some...forceful methods."
"You mean torture." Paul said.
"Yes, and he blames you for this mess. If you hadn't gotten in the way before, this mess wouldn't have happened. He's declared you and your friends a priority to eliminate." Sabella claimed.
"Tell him to go lay an egg. Maybe that will get the stick out." Paul said as he doesn't care what her brother says. He won't let Sabastian get his way like this. "I'm afraid there's even more bad news, guys. I know who is behind all of this now... It's Hydra." When he told his friends that, Thomas and Blite couldn't believe it.
"Hydra?! That's impossible!" Lindsay said.
"Yeah. We saw him die a few years ago." Thomas agreed.
"Well, he somehow survived. He's rebuilt himself. He's some sort of cyborg now, and he's the one who's been behind everything." Paul claimed. "Librium, the virus, Ryker's, really all of it. He's also brought together his sinister team of six again comprised of Fang, Eagle, Iguana, Hurricane, and Balancer."
"That has to be his most deadly combination yet." Lindsay said as none of this sounded good at all.
"What are we going to do?" Thomas questioned.
"What we always do." Paul said as he doesn't care what the odds are, or how bad the situation is. "This is our city, and we're taking it back." An evil face from the past might have returned, but that's not going to stop Paul or his friends. They'll fight to save New York or die trying. The war to decide New York's fate begins now.
