Chapter 23

I stretched my arms and legs, trying to rub my neck because it felt sore. Only to feel a collar on me. I sat up quickly looking around the room. Spotting a mirror I ran over to it. The collar had these small tubes attached to them. I counted them. There were about eight of them in total. So far two of them were empty.

"I see that you are awake Miss Hikari."

I nearly jumped out of my skin. It was Kurogiri.

"Where am I?"

"Somewhere safe." he'd said.

"How did you even get out of your restraints?"

He held his hands behind his back. "Not every guard in that prison is on the hero's side. I was just waiting for my moment to escape. Then I saw you. I figured that I would kill two birds with one stone."

"What is this," I asked touching the collar.

"It takes away your quirk, but only temporarily. Every few hours one tube will be injected into you. I only put that on you to avoid certain issues."

"Why did you bring me here?"

He stepped out of the way. "If you would follow me all of your questions will be answered."

I hesitated, but eventually, I followed him. We were in an old-style house. The kind that you would read about in fairy tales. I followed him downstairs into a dining room. My heart almost stopped. There he was All For One. Sitting right next to Dabi and Tomura. Dabi avoided my eyes. I walked over to the table, picked up a cup, and chucked it at All For One. He easily caught it and set it down on the table.

He chuckled. "You do have your mother's temper."

I banged on the table. "Do not talk about her!"

He smiled. "However that anger you have inside of you is definitely from me. Please, won't you sit down? I am sure you have so many questions."

I grit my teeth and sat down at the table.

"I hear that you fixed All Might. He is no longer dying. How did you do that?"

I leaned back into the chair. "Where did you hear that?"

He smiled. "I have eyes and ears everywhere. Now, tell me how you did it. Even you cannot heal what was not there."

I said nothing.

"Yami, be good for daddy. Or else I will blow up an entire city block. Or… perhaps I will blow up UA and everyone you care about. Is that what you want Yami?"

I dug my nails into my palms. "I copied a quirk that lets me basically rewind the time of whatever living thing I was touching."

He smiled. "See, that was not so hard. So, then you would be able to fix this then?" he said touching his face."

"What happened to your face?"

He stopped smiling. "All Might happened."

It was my turn to smile. "Good. No doubt you deserved it."

"You are going to fix this for me. He has wounded me just as I had wounded him."

"If I say no?"

He smiled. "You know the answer to that Yami."

When he takes this collar off me maybe I could fight and make a run for it.

"Dabi why are you even here? I thought you didn't work for them?"

He still didn't look me in the eyes.

All For One laughed. "It seems he has abandoned his foolish dream for love. He no longer wants to kill his father because he would rather be by your side. Isn't that sweet?" He mocked.

I looked at Dabi. "Father?" I asked confused.

Tomura cackled. "Didn't he tell you? Endeavor is his father., and Eandeaovr doesn't even know it. He and his entire pitiful family still think that their son is missing or dead."

All I could do was stare. He was Endeavor's son… Shouto's brother and they had no idea. He wanted to kill him, but why? He was staying here for me? None of this makes any sense.

"You don't belong with them Yami. You did not belong with Your grandmother either. That, I am sure you know." All For One said. "Have you heard it yet? That little voice in the back of your mind. Telling you to do bad things? That lust for power that you feel. I know you do because I do as well. You are more like me than you like to admit, but that is alright. You will come around eventually. Once your beloved friends and teachers see you; the real you. They will be frightened of it and of you, whereas I will embrace you. Kurogiri." He said snapping his fingers.

I felt him taking the collar off of me.

"We are coming up on the hour when you would have received another shot. This is to flush anything out of your system that was already there." He said injecting me in the neck. I hissed at the pain. It took a minute or two but I felt like my old self. My neck was still sore.

"And Yami, you are not a prisoner here. However, if you were to run there is no telling what I might do to punish you."

By that, he meant to hurt the people that I cared about.

"Now come," he ordered.

I went over to him, standing between him and Dabi. I hesitated to touch him. Would he be able to tell that I copied One For All? Maybe it wouldn't feel the same since it was a copy and not the original. I couldn't let him get his hands on it. I just hoped that it was somewhere hiding inside of me.

"If you think I mean to steal any quirks from you. I will not. I would not do that to my own daughter. I do have some decorum."

I had no choice. I swallowed the lump in my throat and set my hand on his shoulder. I could feel the swarm of quirks inside him. I did the same as I had down for All Might. I felt a little dizzy but not as much as before. Maybe I was getting the hang of it. He removed his helmet, setting it down on the dining table. He turned to me and smiled. If I didn't know who he really was I would have thought that he was a regular man.

"You look like him," I said reflexively.

"Him? He asked.

I snapped out of it, realizing I had almost said too much. I quickly back away, bumping into Dabi; feeling his hand on my waist.

"Thank you so much, Yami. Now your dear father is no longer wasting away. Thanks to you, I will live even longer. Dabi, please show my daughter to her room. Remember this Yami. Do not run."

I left, with that threat looming over my head.
