Chapter 12: Things Go Back to Normal

The summer vacation was finally here and everything was getting back to normal.

At the Camden home, Ruthie just came home from the last day of school to see her little brothers in the swimming pool that their mom bought for them.

"Hi mom," Ruthie said when she had came in through the gate.

"Hey Ruthie are you glad to have school done?" Annie asked her young daughter.

"Yes I am and have you heard from Judge Lawrence?" Ruthie asked her mother.

"Yeah, Mary called and said that he will be in jail for a long time, and his teaching license will be taking away for good too," Annie told her youngest daughter. Ruthie hugged her mom tight and ran into the house to see her dad working on his sermon at the kitchen table.

"Dad I want to thank you," Ruthie said coming over to give him a hug.

"You're welcome for what?" Eric asked his daughter.

"For helping out to get rid of that Coach Koeper," Ruthie said to her dad.

"Well then you are very welcome," He said with a hug. Ruthie ran upstairs to put her back pack in her closet and ran downstairs and out the back door.

"I am going for a bike ride be back for dinner," Ruthie said to her mom.

"Okay sweetie see you later," Annie told her daughter.

Ruthie had a plan she would bike over to Hannah and Jenna's houses and pick them up on their bikes and the three of them were going to go see Lucy, and Kevin as well as Mary, Wilson and Billy. As Ruthie biked passed the police station she saw her sisters' cars their.

"What are Lucy and Mary both doing there," Ruthie thought to herself.

Ruthie parked her bike up against the building and went into the station. She saw her sisters, and brother-in-laws, at Kevin's desk talking. She walked over to them and saw Billy on Mary's lap.

"Mary, Wilson and Lucy what are you all doing here," Ruthie asked.

Mary, Wilson, Billy, Kevin, and Lucy turned to see Ruthie behind them.

"Ruthie you scared us," Mary said to her youngest sister.

"Sorry," she said with a smile.

"Wilson and I are here to finish paper work up that needed to be done after the trial," Mary then answered. Billy slid down and walked over to Ruthie. Ruthie picked her nephew up and gave him a hug.

"Then mom and dad are going to register me for kindergarten and they are going to request that I am with Sam and David," Billy excitedly told his aunt.

"That sounds awesome," Ruthie said hugging her nephew once more.

Ruthie couldn't believe it she was going to be in high school in the fall and Billy, and her twin brothers were starting kindergarten in the fall too.

"Did you need something," Wilson asked his sister-in-law.

"No just came to check on you three," Ruthie said as she gave Billy to Lucy.

"We are fine now thanks for all your help," Wilson said.

"No problem I am your sister and sister-in-law and aunt, and we are family.

"Ruthie I am going home now would you like to spend some sister time with me, and we can take Billy and Sam and David too.

"Sure I would love too," Ruthie said to Lucy. Ruthie walked back outside.

"I was going to spend time with Hannah and Jenna but I got all summer to spend time with all of them," Ruthie thought to herself as she brought her bike upward and jumped up on it and biked back to the house.

When she got home she told her mom that she was going to spend the rest of the afternoon with Lucy, and Billy was going to go to and Billy wanted to know if Sam and David could go. Annie nodded. Ruthie then took her brothers out to dry them off.

"Come on boys, we will spend time with Sam, and David and then Lucy will join us too," Ruthie told them. Sam and David smiled as Ruthie helped them dry off and hurry in to change clothes.

Later that night at the Camden house Annie turned to her husband in bed and smiled, "Well everything is back to normal," Annie told her husband.

"For now," Eric said.

"Yes for now," Annie agreed and they turned the light off and fell fast asleep.

Up in the Camden attic Ruthie had just tucked her brothers in hours before. She got in her pajamas and went to bed and fell fast asleep.

"I am going to sleep in as late as possible," Ruthie said to herself.

At the Kinkirk house, Kevin came in late and came up to go to bed. He saw his wife awake in bed waiting for him.

"Are you hungry," She asked him.

"Nope just very tired," Kevin said. Before Kevin closed his eyes Lucy turned and hugged him.

"What was that for," He asked.

"For loving me and always being there for me," Lucy cooed to him.

"Well in that case here is the same way to you in return," Kevin said with a chuckle as he kissed and hugged her.

At the West house Billy was asleep and Mary and Wilson were in bed talking.

"Thank you for helping me out these past few months," Mary whispered to her husband.

"Not a problem, I am your husband and I won't let anything ever happen to you," Wilson said as he turned in bed to give her a good night kiss.

"I am a mom and a wife too. I love you and only you and Billy and of course our families," Mary smiled.

"I love you all too," Wilson said. The two of them then quietly drifted off to sleep.
