Binding Feathers

When Hawks is banished by his family, his younger sister runs away from her duty right into a young Deku's arms. Deku and Bakugo embrace their first chance to be heroes and protect Kuri and Reiko from the horrors of family honor. But when they realize that the duty the girl is trying desperately to avoid is the very thing holding villains in check, will they be able to stop them?

17. Kidnapped

Reiko held Bakugo back in the darkness as Tokoyami's shadow went mad, just as they had planned, taking out the enemy.

They both saw Kuri and Deku land, and Kuri rush to Tokoyami's side.

"I swear if that damn nerd—"

"Hey Kacchan, you're safe!" Deku ran over.

"Shaddup. I don't need your help." Bakugo snapped.

There was a bright flash of silver light. The signal.

Reiko pulled Bakugo along beside her. "You listen to me Kat. You are NOT gonna get kidnapped."

Reiko said it mostly to convince herself. Kuri's prophecies were never wrong.

As if fulfilling her fears, Bakugo vanished from her grip.

Kuri landed and lunged for the offender, some annoying magician.

She shoved Deku back, protecting him and herself from more pain.

Deku grabbed the Bakugo ball victoriously.

"DEKU STOP HIM!"

The shadows became thicker as Kuri picked up Deku and launched him with her feather flight towards the enemy.

"GRAB HIM!" Reiko cried anguishedly.

Deku reached out—

And suddenly Reiko was beside him. She grabbed Bakugo's hand…

And he let go.
