The gang continued to walk and walk and walk, "man all this walking is
getting boring," Ash complained, Misty sighed "I guess we could take a
break we have been walking all afternoon, what do you guys think?" She
asked directing the question to the digi-destined gang; "a rest sounds
great," said Mimi followed by the others nods of agreement, "ok kool" said
Misty "how bout under those tress just ahead" Ash said, "I don't think we
will be lucky enough to find a river this time".
TK and Kari sat down with the others in the shade of a tree, it was a real hot day and Ash had been right when he said they wouldn't find a river so they made do with what they had and that was shade. Sora sighed and lay down on the cool grass, "so how much longer will it take until we reach the next city or town?" She asked Brock her was sitting next to her, "Ah depends how fast we move I guess" he said.
Matt sighed as he sat down next to Mimi, "man it's hot today," he said receiving a round of agreements from the others. Misty pulled her bag off her back, placed it in front of her, and went through it before pulling out a poké ball and releasing her Starmie, "Starmie water gun" she commanded and it squirted her and the others with water. "Great idea Misty" Ash said lying back now drenched in water, the others all agreed as well as the soft breeze and water cooled them off.
"Hey you guys I'm just going to climb that hill over there to see what kind of distance we have left to travel" Brock said indicating with his and towards a grass covered hill in the distance. The others just nodded not taking much notice, as it was too hot to do anything. Ash and Misty sat up slightly when the noticed Brock coming back "well what can you see" they asked, "Well if we follow the path it will take us all the way around the coast before cutting through to Vermilion City in a big circle. Though what I say is we cut through from the hill straight to Vermilion City in the distance as it was be a lot quicker" he said.
"Well what are we waiting for then...lets get moving," Tai said standing up, Ash just looked at him like he couldn't believe what he was saying until Mimi voiced her opinion which had been what he was thinking about, "but its too hot to walk all that way" She whined. "Mimi's right it is too hot" Ash added not wanting to start up until it cold down, "Well what do you guys think" Tai asked the others.
"I think we should get going now and try and get there as soon as possible," said TK also standing up, "If we leave now will we make it there before it gets too dark?" Sora asked Brock who just shrugged, "It's a possibility," he said as Sora stood up agreeing with Tai "we probably should go now while it's light" Izzy said getting up followed by Misty, TK and Kari leaving Mimi and Ash the only ones still sitting down.
"Come on Mimi we're leaving now" Matt said picking Mimi up off the ground and onto her feet, Ash then stood up and they headed for the hill that Brock had visited and when they reached it they were able to see the path they had been following disappear into the distance following the coast. "Over there is where the City is," Brock said pointing with one hand in the other direction to what looked like a small group of grey blocks, "It will be easier to see at night when the Cities lights are on" he said before leading them down the hill and in the direction of the City.
Brock led the way through the grass in the direction of the City with the others following behind him with their pokemon out for exercise, Mimi walked next to Matt watching as her Eevee ran in circles around his Arcanine. While Tai and Brock talked about breeding to her left and TK and Kari walked with Gatomon and Patamon on her right. Sora was walking behind Mimi and Matt with Izzy, Misty, and Ash talking about nothing really because it was mainly Izzy just intriguing Misty with all his knowledge and her and ash just tagging along.
