Title: We are
Author: Procella Nox-noctis
Summary: Blue explains her life, and her conclusion of what wolves really are. What she is.
A/N: WARNING!! My first ever Wolf's Rain fiction. I have barely seen a few episodes, but I have my knowledge on what happens from the Episode Guides. Sorry if this disturbs you, or if you think I didn't go with cannon. Scratch that. I'm not sorry. It's my first drabble too. If I was wrong at developing Blue, then to bad. I'll try better some other day. Just needed this out of my mind
Many years I've stood resides a man who haunted my kina. I helped him, aided him in hunting down the last of my specie. Yet I never knew I was what I haunted.
Quent is and will always be like a father to me. He raised me ever since I was a pup, even after he complained for hours to his son Ruth, that he didn't want another pack of flees to feed. Then the disaster occurred. The wolves attacked the house, and everything went downhill from there.
While Quent had been a nice man before, quite amiable, in his opinion anyway, now he found two new passions. Drinking and hunting down wolves.
Cheza had told me I was a half-wolf. I feel half complete. Half empty. Half full. Half worthy. Half everything. And yet I felt nothing when I was biting down on the neck of other wolves. Perhaps I felt a bit of sadness. Perhaps not. I only listened to Quent, after all.
Then I began to feel everything in halves. I was half-wolf. But I yearned to be complete. So I began looking for my other half. After so many years, I became what people called me: a bitch. I left my master, and went looking for myself.
The white wolf came to me and asked me to join them. I hesitated. After all, I was only half worthy, if not less, of his trust. Their trust. I couldn't understand why he still wanted to give me a second chance if I had been the bitch who hurt him so many times.
Wolves. They are curious creatures. I know one pack of wolves only.
Tsume is harsh and cold, a mask hides his real emotions. He's more afraid of failing his friends than he appears to be. Perhaps he's had a harsher past than mine.
Hige is nice and comforting. I never asked for his help with those men. But he gave it nonetheless. Be it because he thought I was a hot chick, or because he is simply that brave, he helped me. And without being asked. He defies wolves' nature by wearing a collar. But I think it has a special meaning to it. maybe he's hiding something too.
Toboe is the youngest of the pack. He's very sweet. And marked. He killed his own master, from what I've heard. Poor wolf. He had it harder than most of them, his food always taken from him. No friends, and the one friend he made, spooked out when she found out he was a wolf.
Kiba is the complicated wolf. He appeared in the city with no pack and wounded. And there was I to attack him again. Yet he is a dreamer, a hoper. He wants to find paradise, and one day he'll find it. Generous as he is, he wants me to go to Paradise with him. I'm still not sure.
So I vague here, looking for myself. To be complete. Free of regrets and nightmares. Free of a life I once considered mine. Free of myself. Free. Perhaps paradise is where I'll find this. Or maybe it'll be death.
Because that is what wolves do nowadays. They look for a better place, free from the humans. Paradise can be anywhere, and nowhere at all. But wolves will always look. Because that's what they are. What we are. We are wolves. And we seek freedom. We are wolves. And we seek a clean world. We are wolves. And we seek peace. We are wolves. And we seek calmness.
We seek. We are.
THE END
E/N: I really hope you liked it. I doubt Blue knows all about the pack, but lets say she does. Give opinions, PLEASE! And try not to be TOO HARSH. Flames will be fed to pyromaniac dog plush of a Shar-Pei. Thank you.
