Storyline: Natsu is a young attractive music tutor and Lucy is his student. Lucy has a crush on him, but she doesn't know if he feels the same and doubts that he does very much.
Lucy sighed heavily as she pulled open the door to an empty classroom. After her home room teacher suggested she took another subject when she passed English early, she was quite open to the idea of trying something new.
She was suggested to take a subject that she wasn't very familiar with and maybe even challenged her a bit. This, Lucy thought at the time, was absolute nonsense. Nothing challenged her. She excelled at every subject she tried to do. So, taking Music wasn't too worrying at the time but if she'd have known…
To make matters worse, not only was she absolutely and totally hopeless when it comes to music, but she must have gotten the most cocky, arrogant, most unbelievably attractive tutor on earth.
Natsu "Salamander" Dragneel (though he insisted she called him "Mr Dragneel" even though he must be at least twenty-two, only four years older than herself) was a young man who taught advanced music lessons. To get to where he was now, he went into tutoring when he finished all his studies at the amazing age of eighteen, being a musical fucking mastermind. Lucy huffed. He was without a doubt one of the most impressive people she had ever met in her life.
But he was a man.
And men cannot be trusted.
"Ah, shit," she muttered as she threw her bag roughly onto a desk as she began to search for her books.
"Now, now," a deep, husky voice rumbled suddenly, making Lucy spin around as she pressed a hand to her throat.
There, stood in the doorway with a shit-eating smirk, was Mr Dragneel himself. He had his briefcase flung over his shoulder as he tilted his head at her, his wild yet tamed pink hair framing his masculine face perfectly.
His shockingly beautiful emerald eyes, which drooped in the most sexy way naturally, were turned up in amusement as he chuckled at her startled expression. He arched a brow while he awaited her to compose herself then made his way forward to place his case on the table.
"Calm down. I'm sure you're very excited for my lesson but no need to curse."
Lucy's eyes widened slightly as she recalled her previous comment. She huffed while he chuckled again before she rounded the desk to sit opposite his standing form. She raised a delicate brow at him.
"I wouldn't say that I'm in need of three extra lessons of music a week, Mr Dragneel," she drawled as she folded her arms over the table, trying to ignore the hammering in her chest as she eyed the older man. "Two was somewhat reasonable but three is a little harsh."
He scoffed.
"It is completely necessary," he told her as he placed his palms on the table and leaned closer, making the breath hitch in her throat but she tried her best to mask it. "You're not improving whatsoever, and the lessons with your class seem to have little to no impact on you at all. Are you trying to improve at all? Or do you just enjoy all the time we spend together?"
She felt the blood rise to her cheeks as her face got hot at the assumption. She whipped her head away to hide it. She heard him laugh lightly before pushing off the desk.
"Although, I have been meaning to confront you a little about my lesson," Lucy turned her head up to look at him warily.
"You always seem so…" he clicked his fingers as if looking for the word. Mocking her. "Distracted. Somethin' you need to tell me, Lucy?"
Lucy glared at him angrily, a low growl beginning to rumble in her chest though she choked it down. They had been playing this game for weeks. At times, Lucy almost thought he may like her too but then she realised that that would be impossible. No way would a man like him go for a girl like her. He was just teasing her. There was no other explanation.
"No," she said in a hard voice stubbornly. Mr Dragneel tilted his head at her in an innocent fashion before a slow, fanged smirk made its way across his lips. Lucy tried to meet his gaze neutrally before he finally nodded as if accepting her answer and went on with the lesson.
Lucy frowned as she entered her music room for class. Class was much less eventful or interesting than her one-on-one tutor sessions with Mr Dragneel. This lesson was simply tedious. She was less bothered with appearance and so her hair, which was usually in a ponytail, hung loosely just around her hips.
She had always liked her schools uniform, though she never wore it to Mr Dragneel's tutor sessions. It was a rather cute black school skirt that stopped mid-thigh, short yet modest as they always wore long black socks that stopped just below the knee and black boots that hugged her leg and stopped mid shin. A regular school top with a crimson bow instead of a tie and a beautiful black blazer that hugged her curves nicely.
She sat down at her regular desk near the window and waited for the teacher. She didn't have many friends in this class, so she liked to sit on her own, usually gazing out the window. She lifted her head automatically to look to the door with bored eyes when she heard it open, though they widened almost immediately.
"Hello, class," Mr Dragneel said as he placed his case on the teacher's desk, not yet noticing Lucy's presence. All conversation in the class went from whispers to silence as they stared in awe at the man before them.
"My name is Natsu Dragneel, though you can address me as Mr Dragneel. I'll be replacing your teacher for the day since they're off on meetings, so this is a onetime thing," he trailed off as his eyes met Lucy's, emerald meeting amber. He seemed to take in her appearance, one he was not used to, for a split second before dragging his gaze away and going on. Lucy released a breath she hadn't known she had been holding when his eyes released her.
The lesson was long and not too different than any other except she paid some attention. Her lack of interest seemed to irritate Mr Dragneel and she could tell, so she put up the act even more so. She could see him clenching his jaw when he caught her staring idly out of the window. She didn't miss the low sigh, almost growl that escaped his lips when he addressed her, and she would come across as confused as to what he was talking about.
It was hilarious.
"Lucy." he said in a taut voice as Lucy snapped from her daydream to meet his eyes.
"Oh – Uh, yeah?"
He narrowed his eyes at her. "Would you like to recite to me what I just said?"
Lucy looked at him at a loss for words. He was very different than when they had tutoring sessions. He was much more professional and intimidating.
Sexy.
He took her silence as an answer of its own before clicking his tongue and casting his eyes down to the textbook in his hand.
"Stay behind after class, please." He said without looking up before carrying on with the lesson.
Lucy slumped down in her seat, eyeing the door and measuring the distance from her desk to the exit in attempt to determine whether she could escape the wrath of this much more intimidatingly attractive Mr Dragneel.
"Alright, that's all," he said as the bell went off and everyone left the room, the girls muttering about Mr Dragneel as they scurried out. Lucy grabbed her bag and sped off to the door, thinking she could make it. A hand wrapped around her arm and jerked her back.
"And where do you think you're going?" Mr Dragneel's low voice rumbled from behind her as the classroom's door slammed shut as the rest of the class exited. Lucy closed her eyes before turning around. She looked up at the man sheepishly.
"I – I, uh…"
He grumbled lowly before backing her till her lower back met the edge of the teacher's desk. He placed both of his palms on the desk beside her, caging her in as he looked down at her surprised expression. She swiftly glanced around the room to confirm that there was no one else in there but them.
"Uh, Mr Dragneel?"
Mr Dragneel's smirked before lowering his face, so his eyes were on line with hers. Her eyes were dark as she looked into his and the side of his mouth curled up more so. He traced a finger under her chin she so looked up at him better.
"Now, Lucy," he drawled, making Lucy's stomach clench in anticipation. "You should know better than to not pay attention in my class."
Lucy arched a brow, leaning closer to him as she hummed in contemplation. Natsu's smirk grew.
"Oh, yeah?" she asked, a little breathless. "I guess I just got a little… bored. I mean, you just went on and on - "
She was cut off as a pair of lips pressed against her own. Her eyes widened as she came to the realisation that Natsu was kissing her. She was kissing Natsu. She smiled into the kiss slightly before her eyes finally drooped shut.
Her hands sprang from where they were curled around the edge of the desk to grasp his shoulders. His hands clutched her waist, pulling her more firmly against him as he tilted his head to deepen the kiss.
Lucy took a sharp intake of breath when he pulled away to trail kisses all over her cheek, then her jaw, she buried her fingers in his hair as his lips met her neck and she gasped.
"Natsu - Natsu, why are yo-"
He pulled his head up to gaze at her, tilting his head.
"Why am I doing this?" he asked breathlessly, and she nodded.
"Because your kind of perfect Lucy," he murmured lowly. He drew a hand up to cup her face and he trailed his thumb over her cheekbone as he looked down on her.
"You're smart, feisty, funny, beautiful, kind…" he trailed off as he leaned forward so his lips were near her ear and her eyelids drooped closed again. His voice dropped a couple of octaves when he continued.
"And my god, you look sexy in that uniform."
His voice rumbled in her ear. A shiver went down her spine as his breath hit her ear. She pulled away to press her lips to his once again before looking up at him once more.
"Won't you get in trouble?" she asked, and he chuckled.
"No. Your tutoring is over and I'm not your teacher. I told this was a onetime thing. You're not my student anymore, Luce."
She took the information in, and a slow smile spread across her face. Natsu mirrored her expression with his usually fanged grin as he dipped his head, so their lips met once again.
