A/N: Well, here we are. The last chapter of this story. Also the first time I've actually completed a story. Wild. This mainly covers Chapter 33 of the original story as I see Chapter 34 staying exactly the same, which it should because that one is perfect. But without further ado, let's wrap this baby up.
Now Playing: "Good Riddance (Time of your Life)" by Green Day
Arrowcave
As the Dark Legends and everyone else made it back to the Arrowcave, Felicity gave them the rundown.
"Good news everyone! Aside from Charles Lee Ray, all of the demons have been sent back to Hell."
"Great." Andy smiled before turning to everyone else.
"I just want to say to all: thank you for helping me stop Darhk. I didn't think we could do it, but we saved the world. Each and every one of you had a hand in saving humanity, and it was an honor fighting alongside you."
"Well, that's a much better speech." Ash said as he lit a blunt. "But now that it's over, I'm heading home to get a drink."
"Our truce is over once we head back." Ruby warned him.
"Fine by me, honey." Ash replied casually. "C'mon guys, let's get the Hell outta here."
With that, Ash and his team left the bunker and headed back to Michigan. After the Ghostbeaters left, the villains said their goodbyes to Oliver and Barry, before exiting. Supergirl, Superman, and the Martian Manhunter also bid their farewells before Cisco opened a breach back to their Earths, along with Leo, the Ray, and Earth-33 Constantine.
"You know, for a weird blonde and British version of me, you're pretty good." Earth-33 Constantine said to his Earth-1 doppelganger.
"Thanks." Constantine replied. "And as a weird American brunette version of me, you're not bad yourself, mate."
Earth-33 Constantine smirked before he walked into the breach and back to Earth-33. Nica walked up towards Hellboy and handed him back his gun.
"Man, I'm gonna feel sore in the morning." Red muttered, which made Nica chuckle.
"Well, let's head on home." Liz said. "The kids are waiting for us." And with that, Red and Liz left the bunker and back to BPRD headquarters. Just as Black Siren was about to leave, she was stopped by Quentin, who told her that even though he may not be her father, if she ever needed any help, she could just call him. Laurel accepted the offer and gave Lance before leaving with the villains.
"Are we heading back to Themyscira, Diana?" Helen of Troy asked Wonder Woman.
"No. I'm returning to the open world." Diana announced. "After what has happened today, I feel like mankind needs me again."
Diana then turned to Oliver and Barry.
"It would be an honor to work with you all again."
Queen and Allen nodded before Cisco created a breach for Helen to head back to Themyscira.
"Best of luck, Diana." Helen said. Diana smiled and nodded, before Helen walked through the breach and back to Themyscira, before Diana herself took her cue and left the bunker.
All the while, Chloe and Dan tell Trixie that it was time to head back home to LA, but Trixie offered to stay in Star City and help out her new friends. After being assured by Lucifer that her daughter will be fine, Decker then gave Trixie one of her demon daggers as a way of honoring Mazikeen, and then she, Dan, Ella, and Morningstar took their leave back to Los Angeles. After the detectives left, Team Flash and the speedsters then said their goodbyes and sped back to Central City. New Team Arrow said their goodbyes to Oliver and were now on better terms with the Green Arrow, and Deathstroke also shook hands with Queen before taking his leave. Jim Corrigan had already left once the battle was over.
"Alfred called me back to Gotham." Batman told Andy. "Apparently the sinkholes caused all the inmates of Arkham Asylum to break out and they're now wreaking havoc across the city."
"Well, I'm gonna let you do your thing." Andy said. "If you ever need me, you know where to find me."
Bruce nodded and then took his leave back to Gotham City. After Bruce left and as Thea Queen and Roy Harper left to go to the Loft, Andy noticed that Nica had a worried look on her face.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Andy asked.
"Nothing, it's just… after Kristen and Tyler died… I'm just really worried about what will happen to Janice." Nica said. Andy then placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Don't worry, she'll be okay. She's already been placed into foster care, so I'm sure somebody will take her into a loving home."
Nica smiled before they were approached by Rip Hunter who offered them a position in the new team he was putting together to combat threats to the timeline. But the Barclays declined saying that they were officially retiring from being heroes, which Hunter understood before he left the bunker and headed back to the Waverider. Though Andy would then pass the torch to Alice and her new friends and have her pick up where he left off. Barclay was then approached by Constantine, Gibb, and Chas.
"Well mate, it's been fun catching up, but we gots to go." Constantine said. "Chas' wife is probably hysterical right now, and I have to take Gibbie back to Springwood." Andy nodded as he shook the exorcist's hand.
"It was nice meeting you guys." Gibb said as she shook Andy and Nica's hands.
"It was nice meeting you too, Gibb." Nica said. And with that, Gibb, Constantine, and Chas took their leave.
Springwood
After Constantine used a portal to take Chas back to Brooklyn to be with his family, he then used another to take Gibb back to Springwood. As they walked towards Smith's house, they decided to have a little chat.
"You know, I never thought this was how we'd be reunited." Gibb said. "Time traveling, going to Hell, saving the world. Crazy."
"Yeah, in this case, I'd have to agree." John said.
"And… There is still a part of me that regrets having to take down Jason, but you know… I didn't really have a choice."
"Hey, it's like what you once told me: you'll forgive yourself one day." Constantine assured her. "I'm sure he's forgiven you."
"You really think he has?"
"Yeah."
Gibb then smiled before she and John hugged for a good 15 seconds.
"It was good seeing you again, John." Gibb said.
"You too, Gibb." Constantine replied.
"If you ever need my help again, or just wanna hang out, you know where to find me."
"I'd like that." Constantine smiled, before he created a portal and headed back to his Millhouse.
As the portal closed, Gibb walked into her house, seeing that it looked exactly how she left it. Even her "Magic for Dummies" book was still laying on the ground. Smith sighed and then took her red cap off, hanging it up. She then stared at her book for a good 10 seconds, considering possibly trying the teleportation spell again, seeing if it will work this time. But then, Gibb shrugged the thought off and decided to just walk upstairs to her bedroom. She'll master that spell eventually.
As Gibb made it to her bedroom, she sat on her bed and thought more about what she had just experienced for the past few months. Even though it was madness with time traveling, being sent to Hell, saving the entire planet from being destroyed, in the end, it was all worth it, as she got reunited with Constantine, and made new friends like Andy Barclay and Lucifer Morningstar.
This was definitely something that Gibb Smith will always remember…
FIN
A/N: Man, what a journey. I've been writing this thing for almost six months, but in the end, it was worth it. I hope you guys had fun reading this story as much as I had writing it.
Of course, I have to give a huge thank you to PotCFan101 for letting me write this story, helping me out with ideas, and of course, writing the original story. Because without the original or really without him, this story would've never happened, and I possibly would've never came back to writing fanfics. So, thank you once again, Pots. You're amazing.
Now, I am planning on writing adaptations on the other Dark Legends stories, but it might be a little bit before I get to them as I do need a little bit of a break after writing this one. Won't be too long of a break though.
But anyways, till next time, guys: See ya!
