Taste Of the Aftermath. Day One. "Welcome back to earth"

(Notes from the author:

This takes palace after the end of Grandia II when our heroes defeated Zera.

In the title it will say how many days it has been since Zera was defeated, to give you an idea of the time the events in this fanfic take place.

This fanfic is written mostly from the point of view of Elena

I do not own Grandia II or anything realated to it

I hope you enjoy it, and as always, R&R is more then welcome :D )

Ryudo stood, staring blankly at the stars. There was a big empty, gaping hole in the night's sky. The place where Valmar's red moon had once been was now an empty, black space in the sky.

"Ryudo?" Elena crept up slowly behind him. He turned around "Oh, hi Elena..." he paused looking down at his feet.
Elena knelt down, gently lowering herself to the ground. She slipped of her shoes, and let her feet dangle in the small river that ran along the side of the camp. Quietly, Ryudo sat down next to her.

Elena sighed "I hope Roan and Tio are okay"

Ryudo nodded "Their safe... I can tell"

"So, Ryudo what do you plan, for the future?" Elena looked up at the stars, clear blue eyes sparkling with excitement "So many possibilities, so many things we can do!"
Ryudo sighed, running his hand through his chestnut brown hair. How was he going to tell her?
Elena frowned, turning back to him "what's wrong?"

"It's... nothing..." he said slowly, turning away.

"So, where will we go together, Ryudo?"

he shook his head "I don't know"

Elena sat up and looked in to his eyes

Ryudo tried to avoid her gaze.

He leant forward taking her in his arms and holding her against her chest. She looked up at him, and gently she leaned forward and kissed him on the lips.

Ryudo closed his eyes slowly. This was... not fair... not fair on Millennia. Elena felt it too. She looked down at the ground, guilty. Ryudo sighed. They both felt guilty. Guilty of the great longing they felt to be with each other

"I wonder how the stars can shine so bright, on such a cold and empty night"
