From the Mind of a Malfoy

"I don't think private matters between myself and the Minister are any concern of yours, Potter," said Malfoy, smoothing the front of his robes. Harry distinctly heard the gentle clinking of what sounded like a full pocket of gold. "Really, just because you are Dumbledore's favourite boy, you must not expect the same indulgence from the rest of us...shall we go up to your office, then, Minister?"

Damn that Potter brat. Always interfering where he shouldn't and asking stupid questions. And worst of all getting away with it.
With those thoughts in mind I along with the idiotic Minister made my way up to his office.
Now if you thought that the Atrium was nicely decorated, the Minister's office would have been a bit much for you. And if you were like any other normal person and felt that the Atrium itself was a little bit overdone, well you deserve to be pitied if you ever got stuck visiting the Minister in his personal space. I also have been invited to certan...private functions at the Minister's personal quarters. They are even more garishly decorated than this office.
But they all do serve their purpouse, in their own way I'm sure.

That awful woman, Dolores Umbridge, certainly enjoyed spending her time privately with the Minister. And if I admit it to myself quite truthfully, in a way I find my private time with the Minister rather pleasurable.

True it is a bit of a bother and somewhat grating, not to mention tiring. But the results are well worth the trouble. And Minister Fudge is pretty generous when it comes to these matters. If only that damnable Umbridge didn't have to budge her way in recently. The way she's been doing him all those special favours lately just shows what she's made of.

And Weasley! Oh, don't get me started on him! That complete and utter slave boy, constantly willing to please everyone just to try and get somewhere. Although that's just the way the Ministry works. Those unwilling to comply will never reach more exiting positions. And that Weasley boy is certainly ambitious enough to have sucked his way up to his current position in the Minister's private portion.

I myself have been making the Minister's time pleasurable for quite some time now, of course I am high in his list of people favouring him. But even I didn't manage to get up there as fast as that Weasley did.

I must remember to talk to him and find out some new techniques to get close with the Minister. It'll be useful. And maybe I'll even manage him to offer his services to another Master.

Yes, that is definitely worth the trouble of communicating with a Weasley, although I must admit, compared to the rest of the family Percival seems too good to be true. He's certainly ambitious enough, and as proved already there's not many things he wouldn't do, to achieve his goals.

That's something to keep in mind. In the unlikely event that my adviser will not achieve his goals (were the old man and the insufferable child to succeed) I would still need someone with power to whom I would appeal. Percival Weasley quite fits the image of the someone I need to establish a pleasurable and working relationship with.

Not to mention the fact that he's young and fresh, and hopefully easy to train...
He will need to be introduced to all the right people.

It was with a satisfied grin, how Lucius stepped into the Minister's office.
