authors note : Thank you my readers for the support. I know alot of you werent open or supportive to the decision Lucas made. But given the circumstances he did what he thought was right. Stay tuned. This will pick up awhile after the funeral.

I wanna believe in it all again. Music and art faith and love. I wanna believe that I've made the right choices and I'm on the right path. And there's still time to fix the mistakes I've made. I guess I want hope."

"I need you to do something for me." Peyton said.

"Anything momma." Ellison replied.

"You and you're dad need to take care of each other. Let the people you love help and support the both of you."

"Don't shut people out. Keeping people at a distance is a way of protecting yourself. But you're also hiding from the world."

"And i want so much more for you then that." Peyton explained.

Ellison awoke slowly. After days of not sleeping he finally did.

But the last thing he wanted to do now. Was rejoin the world.

He was well aware that his dad was up by now.

The aroma of leftover food filling the hallway. Once he left the bedroom.

Wearing his beloved Tric t shirt and grey sweatpants. He made his way to the kitchen.

"Morning son. You need to eat something. I know you're hungry."

"You let me know when you feel ready to go back to school." Lucas said.

"I'll go next week. This week is almost over anyway."

"I am planning to go back to work. I'll start fresh next week."

"We should try to get back to normal. The routine."

"Dad can i ask you something.?" Ellison questioned.

"Anything my boy." Lucas replied.

"Mom told me a year ago. That this arrangement was an idea you brought to her and she agreed with."

"Why was us together like this so important to you.?" Ellison asked.

Lucas sighed deeply. He knew at some point this was coming.

"You and you're mom needed this. An in tact family. Memories. The reassurance and safety that provided."

"She needed help. She wouldn't admit that. You're grandpa Larry couldn't handle watching it happen. So i stepped up. I made sure."

"You're mom was comfortable. That she was able to do her work at home when she had the energy. Brought in end of life care so she wasn't in any pain."

"I loved her. We loved each other alot. You're proof of that love."

"I didn't question or hesistate. This is what you do when someone you love is in need. I don't regret a day the three of us had during these years. "

"She wanted a family i was determined to give her that last wish." Lucas explained.
