Fitz's Pov

I watched Sophie as she walked towards the house, no doubtfully going to go and heal my dad. I am still furious at Sophie, but I'm still grateful that she's willing to enter a broken mind. I walk off towards my room, which is just down the hall from where we are keeping dad. I'm glad that I'm so close to him, because if something goes wrong between him or Sophie, I'm just down the hall. They probably won't need me, because Biana and mom are already in there, but even if they need another telepath, I'm in no service, because when I tried to enter dad's mind when they first brought him here, I almost got lost, but Sophie brought me back.

I do feel bad for yelling at her, but I feel like my actions are justified. My dad's mind is broken, and she doesn't even know who her father even is. I know that that's mean, but it's true. The Black Swan won't tell her who her parents are, but she still won't give up on trying.

"AAAAHHHHHH!" I'm brought out of my thoughts by a very familiar screech. Biana. I sprint to my dad's current room, and Biana is crying over a body. A body with blond hair. Sophie's blond hair.

I freeze in my tracks. I look at my mom, and she has tears in her eyes. She takes a deep breath. "Your father woke up for a second. His mind is healed, and he's sleeping now. I need you to take Sophie to your room. She got lost in his mind, and her mind is now broken. She's probably in extreme pain right now, so you should call Elwin. And while you're at it, call Grady and Edaline," she says. Her voice sounds monotone.

I shakily nod, and I gently put my arms on the backs of her knees and her back. I walk as carefully as I can, trying not to jostle her, because I know that soon she might start screaming from the pain.

I grab my imparter and I hail Elwin. His face pops up on the tiny screen, and he is smiling. But when he saw the crazed look on my face, the smile turned into a serious frown in less than a second.

"Are you okay, Fitz? Is something wrong with Alden?" He asks. I nod quickly. "Nothing is wrong with him. In fact, his mind is healed," I smile weakly. He cheers. I would be too under different circumstances.

"I need you to come over to Everglen though. Something else is wrong," I say. I looked at Elwin, and realization flooded his eyes. "S-Sophie got lost. Didn't she?" He asks weakly. "Yeah."

On the screen, Elwin looks like he's running around his office. "I'm going to grab my supply of sedatives then I'll be right over. Does Grady or Edaline know?" I shake my head no. "I was planning on hailing them right after I talked to you."

'Ok. And what part of the house is she located in, so I can just go straight in there?"

"She's in my room. It's right down the hall from where we kept my dad. And by the way he's sleeping right now, so he doesn't know what's going on." Elwin nods and waves goodbye. The screen turned black. Now it's time for the hard part. Telling Grady and Edaline. Why am I the one that has to do this?

I might as well do it now, before Elwin gets here. "Hail Grady Ruewen"

I see Grady's face appear on the screen. "Hey Fitz! How are you?" I scratch the back of my head and say, "I've been better. My dad is back," I say awkwardly.

"That's fantastic! Is Sophie near you? I want to see how she's doing!" Oh great. Here comes the hard part. For me, and Grady and Edaline. This is going to be the second daughter they've lost. I thought that they were bad just losing Jolie. I think that they might combust if they hear the news about Sophie.

"Umm… She's not exactly available right now. You might want to come here. Like as soon as possible," I say awkwardly.

"Umm… ok. I'll tell Edaline and we'll head over there. It might be a little bit, because we got a new t-rex, and they're getting used to the diet. I'll see you later." He signs off before I could say anything else.

I hear a knock on my door, and when I open it, it's Elwin with a sad look in his eyes. Behind him, is Biana, tear tracks staining her face, and tears still clouding her eyes.

"Is dad awake yet?" I ask. She shakes her head no, but I could tell that her mind was somewhere else right now. I lead her to my bed, and I make her sit down next to Sophie.

Elwin is digging through his bag; probably trying to find some powerful sedatives. When he was taking care of my dad, he had to use his most powerful sedative, but even that wasn't enough. With as many people as there are getting their minds broken, he'll probably have to make an even more powerful one. But hopefully it doesn't get to that point.

Elwin pried her mouth open, but when he did, an earth shattering scream filled the room. All three of us cringed, and covered our ears. He quickly poured the sedative down her throat, and waited for the solution to take effect.

After about thirty seconds, the screams stopped, and now we just have to wait for it to wear off so we can give her another one.

"Have you called Grady and Edaline yet?" Elwin asked. "Yeah. He said that they might be a little bit. Edaline is apparently trying to calm down a t-rex or something."

"Did you tell them about what's going on with Sophie?" I sheepishly shake my head no. "I was kind of hoping that you could do it? Because you're like a doctor and whatnot," I grin shyly.

"Of course you did," Elwin replied under his breath.

"FITZ! GRADY AND EDALINE ARE HERE!" Mom yelled. "Well, you better go get them," I say to Elwin, pushing him lightly towards the door.

He sighs and says, "Here goes nothing."
