Waking up felt familiar and that's what made a pang of fear weld up in his chest. The words the Goblin recited, the green hue of the gas, it all tied to one thing, or person.

"Good morning Peter," The Goblin greeted, as he sat atop some crates. He had one leg bent with his arm lazily on his knee, almost like a frog's legs bent, while the other hung off the crate, giving the goblin an almost lounging appearance.

"Where's May?" Peter demanded, not seeing his aunt anywhere in sight.

"Ah, do not worry son, she is safe at home," The Goblin revealed, "Well, for now."

"Please, tell me it's not you Mr. Osborn," Peter pleaded, he was still feeling semi dizzy from the gasses effects, making it hard for him to fight against the chains that were wrapped around his torso. The other thing he noticed was his mask was no longer on his face which also gave him some anxiety.

"Well Peter," The goblin started as he took off the mask to reveal Norman, "that's where it gets a bit complicated. You see I am and at the same time am not Norman Osborn, which is another reason I brought you here after finding out who you were Peter."

"What do you mean?" Peter was trying to wrap his head around all this.

"You know it happened the other day, when you came and pulled me out of the lab," Norman started as he got up and paced the room, "I was going to meet with a scientist who was perfecting the super soldier formula for the government, but when I came in another man was in there taking the serum from the lab. We fought over it and he ended up injecting me with the drug turning me into the Goblin. I found out they got away with two of the other vials just for them to come crawling back to me."

"Who was it?" Peter asked, still silently trying to break loose of the chains around him.

"Well you seemed to know this group, they call themselves Hydra," Norman told him, searching the boy's face for his reaction.

"Mr. Osborn, they are bad people! You shouldn't trust them, they-" Peter pleaded.

"Give me some credit Peter, I am not stupid by any means," Norman cut off, " I don't trust them in the least, but you. You I know I can trust Peter."

This remark threw Peter off, he was not sure where Norman was going with this.

Seeing the look on Peter's face Norman continued, "Don't look so confused Peter. What I said was true, you are like a son to me. I want you to work for me Peter, drop those vigilantes. I can offer you the world. Think of what we can do together! Think of how I can help you and your Aunt."

"Mr. Os- Norman, you and Harry are like family to me but-" Peter was cut off.

"But what? Tony Stark keeps you as an intern, he talks shit about you to other people, he doesn't care about you Peter," Norman told him, coming closer to be face to face with Peter, "I care about you, Harry cares about you."

"I-," Peter started at a loss for words, " Mr. Stark cares, he helps me-"

"I can help you. You would be treated like an equal, not an intern Parker," Norman told him, his glider making a beep drew the Goblin's attention.

"Listen Peter, I will give you 24 hours to think it over, then I expect an answer," Norman said, putting his Goblin mask back on, "Oh and Peter, you keep my secret I keep yours."

With that the Goblin took off on his glider out of the warehouse. After a few moments a small pop was heard behind Peter and the chains fell off.

Peter's head was still pounding as he got to his feet. Looking around he found his mask laying on top of the crate the goblin had been sitting on. Even pulling on his mask seemed tougher than normal.

"Karen?" Peter asked, after a moment of not getting any reply, he sighed and walked over to the exit of the warehouse to get a better grasp of where he was.

"Crap it's going to take me forever to swing back to the tower," Peter thought, shooting the first web to get to the warehouse rooftop. After a moment his hearing kicked in and he looked around to see Tony flying his way.

Peter fell back into a sitting position on the roof in mostly relief and partially because the world was spinning still.

"Mr. Stark!" Peter yelled, waving from his seated position.

Landing and running over to the young kid, Tony spat out questions, "Peter! Are you okay? Where's the Goblin? Did he hurt you?"

Tony, not getting a response, lifted his face plate, searching over Peter for any battle wounds.

"Pete?" Tony asked, now feeling the pang of worry growing in his chest.

Peter getting up closed the gap between him and his mentor and enveloped him in a tight hug.

"I'm okay Mr. Stark," Peter said in a small voice. Peter was feeling very conflicted over what the Goblin had said.

"You sure?" Tony asked, not breaking the hug.

"Yeah," Peter said, his voice still small, "I'm a bit dizzy but I'm okay."

"F.R.I.D.A.Y call Cap," Tony ordered.

"Calling Steve Rogers," F.R.I.D.A.Y replied.

"Tony? You found him?" Steve asked upon answering.

"I told you I had a plan," Tony replied, "He's okay. We're in the warehouse district."

"I am almost there. Happy gave me the motorcycle," Steve told him.

"See you in a moment then," Tony said, hanging up.

"What happened Underoo?" Tony asked, finally breaking the hug.

"He let me go," Peter told him.

"He let you go?" Tony asked confused, "Why?"

"He had me tied up in the warehouse and that gas he used on me really messed with my senses. I am having a hard time thinking straight and it feels like the world is spinning a bit still, but wait what else did you ask?" Peter rambled, confusing himself.

"It's okay kid," Tony told him, understanding he may not get all the information from his young mentee at the moment, "We can talk about it later. Will you be okay getting down from here?"

Getting a nod from the Spider they made their way off the roof of the building. Just as Steve had pulled up.

"Everyone okay?" Steve asked, more towards Peter.

"We're okay, Underoo needs to get checked out when we get back though," Tony informed him.

"You too Tony," Steve told him, " You still need to get checked out after being blown up."

"I'm fine" Tony argued, feeling a light pounding in his head, as Peter said "You were blown up?"

"The Goblin threw some pumpkin bombs at Tony when he went to save you Pete," Steve told him, "He might have a concussion."

"I am fine" Tony told him, putting emphasis on the word fine.

"Well, I told Bucky, Bruce and Natasha to turn around after you called me and they said they would be waiting at the tower when we get back. Bruce said he would check you both out when we get there," Steve told them, handing Peter a helmet to the bike, "You're with me Peter."

"Great," Tony hissed, drawing out the word.

The ride back Peter noticed Steve kept glancing at him and occasionally asking if he was fine. Internally Peter was replaying the conversation with Norman. Peter was confused and conflicted about what he should do. He did not want to leave Tony or the Avengers, but what if the Goblin was right? What if they were just using him, and he is on the wrong team. Peter knew that being an Avenger was controversial, people said they were bad people and they destroyed half of New York. While on the other hand they were heroes saving the world. But who was he? Was he really an Avenger? He had yet to go on any big missions with them. So was Norman right? Were they only with him because he was a super powered teen and they felt the need to keep track of him?

Pulling into the tower Peter gave a deep sigh, this was going to be a long 24 hours.
