The Devil Came Back to Nosgoth

Been 100 long years since
The Hylden Lord fell to Kain's feet
And it burned inside the new Lord's mind
How they suffered that defeat
In the darkest depths of his mind
He hatched an evil plan
To tempt the vampire
For he was once a mortal man.
"The sin of pride," the Hylden cried
"Is what will do you in."
"I thought we had this settled.
I'm the best that's ever been."

Kain, you ought to know
That time keeps marching on
The coldest hour is the one
Comes just before the dawn.
The Hylden's back in Nosgoth
Will you stand up to the test?
Or will you let their Lord beat the best?

"It's true I haven't fought much
Since I made the boys last year.
But give me just a minute,
And I'll be back in gear."

(Kain draws the blade made of gold)

The Hylden grabbed the golden
Blade out of Kain's hand and said
"Son, I'm a sword fighter in our prison
And when I walk upon this land.

"Your 'sons' cannot help you now
Or at least help you to win
Because practice is the only cure
For the predicament you're in."

"Now, Hylden, it would be a sin
To let you get my goat
So crawl back into your hole
And to the Pillars I will go."

(Kain stands at the base of the destroyed Pillars, practicing with the Soul Reaver while the young Lieutenants watch.)

Kain, are you practicing
Or will your hands grow cold?
The Hylden are in the land
And stole your blade made of gold.
Can you hear your children calling?
Will they ever know
The Hylden want their maker's very soul?

"Before we start this fight, I should thank you
For letting the Ancient's own words ring true.
They said you can't be trusted."
"Yeah, so what you gonna do?"
"You get your sword, demon,
If you think that you can win.
But I beat your kind once before
And I'll beat you all again."

The Lord's eyes are green, but his blood is red
Kain's sons take their share from the soulless dead
The Hylden dream that they will win
But Kain is the best that's ever been.

Author's Notes: Like "The Devil Came Back to Georgia" is a sequel to "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", this parody is partly a sequel to my other musical parody "The Devil Went Down to Nosgoth", though it's not necessary to read it to understand this. I'm not claiming to own the "Legacy of Kain" series or its characters (Eidos and Crystal Dynamics beat me to that), nor do I claim to own or have written "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" or "The Devil Came Back to Georgia" (Charlie Daniels and I think Johnny Cash beat me there). I'm just a sad little Tomlette that likes to waste her time on fan fiction. :-)
