Canterlot. This was the name of the suburban city town with the main city, houses, stadiums, farms and of course Canterlot High, the place that was surrounded on all sides by hills and forests. Probably the kind place you would never want to leave if it was real.
Canterlot Park was one of the nicest places in Canterlot for the people to spend their time outside. During the weekends when students didn't have to go to school, it would be full of people talking and walking around near the river and fountain or sitting in the benches and under the trees. Due to it being a school day though, there were mostly adults with their young children while the older kids were at school.
One of the areas in Canterlot Park was a skatepark. Most of the ramps were covered in graffiti. Sitting at the top on one of the ramps was a little kid, Blade Runner, who was playing on his phone. He was playing a mobile game while he had a skateboard and a slushie next to him.
Blade was looking determined to clear the stage he was playing on the game as he pressed on the screen with his thumbs repeatedly, "Oh, yes! No, come on! Ah, that was close. Oh, dang it, I missed!"
Everything around Blade looked normal as he continued playing on his phone. The flowers were blooming, the leaves in the trees rustled in the wind, and the sky was… darkening? The sunlight was immediately gone. As if it wasn't even there to begin with.
It didn't take long for Blade to realize that it suddenly got darker outside. Confused, he looked around the area trying to figure why it suddenly shifted from sunny and enjoyable to this. He then looked up at the sky, and much to his surprise, dark clouds had suddenly appeared and blocked out the sun. This wasn't foretold by the weather forecast. Something was happening. Something… unnatural.
In the middle of the darkened sky, a bright light suddenly started shining in the air in a disoriented vortex. On the ground from Blade's position, the light was small but very noticeable. Shortly, an indescribable kind of disoriented noise came out as an object started appearing out of the vortex.
Blade squinted his eyes as he tried to get a better look at what was inside the vortex. The object inside only seemed to be a white silhouette as the vortex sparked and flowed with disoriented particles of energy. At this point, only time would tell what was to become of this moment…
In CHS, Sunset Shimmer, being in her "ruler-of-the-school" mood, confidently walked down the hallway until she reached the small hall that led to the entrance of the gym waiting expectantly. When she looked forward, she was rather surprised to see both Snips and Snails walking out all wrapped up in streamers, causing them to move like mummies; wonder if they got Pinkie annoyed enough that she wrapped them up like this and told them to get out.
Sunset approached the two and pulled their streamers off with enough force that they spun around like tornados before she made them stop instantly, leaving them dizzy from all the spinning. Once their dizziness wore off, Sunset gave them a direct order with her arms crossed, "I want you to follow them both. Bring me something I can use against Twilight just like that last girl who thought she could challenge me. And make sure you keep an eye on the new blue boy, Sonic. From what I've seen, he could be a threat for what I need to do."
Snips and Snails both saluted like soldiers as Snips responded, "You got it, Sunset Shimmer."
Sunset turned away from them as she spoke to herself, her desire to crush her opponents clear from her voice and expression, "When the crown and its power are mine, Twilight Sparkle will be sorry she ever set hoof into this world. Not that she would've been much safer if she'd stay in Equestria."
While Sunset was deep into her monologuing, she snapped back into reality when she heard a laugh from behind her. She turned to see that Snips and Snails were still there. Snips randomly pointed his finger up in the air as he smiled, "Yeah, in Equestria."
Impatient, Sunset yelled at Snips and Snails as she ordered them again, "What are you still doing here? Go!"
Snips and Snails started following their orders, but accidentally slammed into each other, leaving them stunned for a brief second before they ran off down the hallway. Once they were gone, Sunset crossed her arms while putting her finger on her chin, "Whatever you are, Sonic, I don't know how or why you can use whatever powers you have in this world, but I promise you'll regret ever getting in my way."
Meanwhile, walking down the hallways, Sonic and Twilight were talking about their objectives and how they ended up in this dimension. With curiosity, Spike asked Sonic inquisitively, "So let me get this straight; you're basically some kind of hedgehog from another dimension, you have an evil scientist named Dr. Eggman, and you were thrown into this dimension because of him?"
Sonic shrugged his shoulders in response, "Yep. That's pretty much it, Spike. Thing is, I've no clue why I ended up here of all places. I guess I just got lucky. Still though, if there is any way I can get back home to Mobius, I'm gonna need to find the rest of the Chaos Emeralds."
The mentioning of "Chaos Emeralds" caused Twilight to pause mid walk; she and Spike raised an eyebrow at this. Twilight tapped her chin with her finger as she wondered about those items as Sonic apparently didn't tell them about the Emeralds yet, "Hmm… Chaos Emeralds? Now why does that ring a bell?"
Spike scratched his chin with his paw and he pondered, "Yeah… I swear we heard that somewhere before. I think Princess Celestia brought those up at one point."
Sonic arched his eyebrow at their words, "You've heard of the Chaos Emeralds?"
"Nevermind. That's not important," Twilight brushed off the subject to get back on track.
Shortly, Twilight's eyes shifted to see something in front of her; against the wall was a vending machine and it was chock full of different types of snacks; bagged chips, packed crackers, fruits like apples and bananas (for whatever reason) and juice in boxes. Twilight approached the vending machine and gazed at the choices of treats, looking hungry and wanting a snack or two. There was a problem, though, a stane of glass blocked them inside so she couldn't just grab them.
Twilight grabbed hold of the machine, pulling on the side in an attempt to open the door. This proved to go to no avail as the door was locked. She then tried pushing against the door, only to quickly end with the same result of no progress. She looked like she really wanted a snack so badly as she placed her face against the glass looking at all the food inside.
Twilight then felt a tap on her shoulder and she turned to see that Sonic had something to point out, "Uuh, Twilight, if you want something from this, you're gonna need some cash. Got any coins or something?"
After hearing this suggestion, Twilight started feeling around her pockets to see if she could find any money, but before she could find anything, a different voice spoke out from behind them, "Excuse me."
Sonic and Twilight turned to see a girl waiting to collect something for herself from the vending machine. Wasting no time, they both backed away to let the girl approach said machine. She raised her hands, shifted her fingers in the air and spoke out loud to herself, "The Great and Powerful TRIXIE!..."
Trixie paused as she shifted her eyes back and forth for a brief moment, before she showed a gold coin in her hand, "Needs some peanut butter crackers."
Trixie inserted the coin into the vending machine through the coin slot, and a pack of peanut crackers with a touch of peanut butter was dispensed from the display chamber. She reached into the takeout port and claimed her prize, "Voilà!"
Trixie walked away from the group with her prized snack. Twilight frowned, dropping her arms as she and Sonic began walking again, "Sunset Shimmer is right. I don't know the first thing about this place."
"Then we should start knowing," Sonic suggested with a snap from his fingers, "Could be helpful for you to get your crown back."
Twilight put her finger on her chin as she put some thought into this, before she had an idea as she put her fist in her hand, "If I'm going to really fit in and win votes, we need to do some research."
Spike poked his head out of Twilight's backpack with an arched eyebrow when he heard this idea, "Research?"
"This place has a school…" Twilight began when she was respectfully cut off when Sonic quickly cut in.
"Is a school."
Twilight nodded in response and went to finish what she was saying, "So I have to believe it's got a…"
As Sonic and Twilight walked down the hall, they noticed an open door to the left and on the other side was a, "Library!"
The location through the doors was indeed a library; a very large library in fact stacked with bookshelves on two floors. The main floor was a round space with bookshelves all full of books as the walls, a pair of desks were around the space, and a table with a large golden horse statue was in the middle with computers and chairs. The upper floor could be accessed by two sets of stairs behind the table which were parallel to each other, and even more books shelves could be seen from below. The ceiling above the library had the same large glass dome on the roof where Sonic slept the other night, and some banners could be seen hanging down from the middle.
Sonic playfully punched Twilight's arm, "Good eye, Twilight. Let's have a look."
Sonic and Twilight walked into the library ready to do their research. However, neither of them were aware that they were being followed as Snips and Snails popped out from hiding behind the open doors. They waited to come out until Sonic and Twilight had walked in, and Snips whispered over to Snails, "Got your phone?"
Snails smiled in response as he pulled out his cellphone, "Ya got yours?"
Snips pulled his cellphone out as well. The two snickered to themselves as they "sneaked" their way into the library with Snips side-stepping against the wall and Snails shifting across the floor like a snail; both in plain sight and nobody seemed to notice them. Somehow.
As Sonic and Twilight were looking for something specific to start research, Sonic just happened to notice a woman pushing a small shelf of books on wheels. Sonic decided that he could ask the woman for help. He walked over to her and cleared his throat to catch her attention, "Uh, s'cuse me, ma'am."
The woman raised her head to see Sonic and Twilight hoping to talk to her, and she stood up straight to greet them properly with a smile, "Oh, good afternoon. I'm Miss Cheerilee. How can I help you?"
Sonic asked Cheerilee as he pointed his thumb over to Twilight, "I'm Sonic, this is Twilight. We're just wondering if you have anything useful for research here in the library? Kinda need to look into, uh… an important subject."
Cheerilee gladly nodded as she held her hand out towards a computer on the table behind her, "Sure, you can use one of the computers on the table over here. What's the subject of your research?"
This was a question that neither Sonic nor Twilight could find a good answer to. As they both raised their fingers and opened their mouths to try and say something, there was the sound of loud rock music playing nearby. The two teens looked over to see where the music was coming from both with a raised eyebrow while Cheerilee looked puzzled as she facepalmed.
Over at the table on one of the computers were three preteen girls playing a music video on the Internet with a speaker and dancing to the beat. The first preteen girl had daffodil yellow skin, amaranth red hair with a bright pink bow on top, and gamboge-orange eyes. She wore a sea-foam green sleeveless button-up shirt with a lemonade-pink sleeveless vest over it, Aegean blue jean pants with a cedar brown belt and a golden circular buckle, a hickory-brown bracelet on her left wrist, and parmesan-tan western boots with candy-red and marigold-orange details.
The second preteen girl who was dancing in the chair had pure white skin, parakeet green eyes, and her curly hair was iris purple with streaks of flamingo pink and a pinkish red hair ribbon. She wore a blonde yellow dress with the skirt sowed in a box-pleated style, over the dress was a short-sleeve magenta pink jacket, she also had a violet purple belt around her waist which had a white "o" shaped belt on the side, golden bracelets on her wrists, and magenta-purple shoes with gold-yellow laces.
The third girl had tangerine orange skin, her messy short hair was magenta purple and her eyes were heather purple. She wore a sleeveless teal-blue hoodie over a white tank top with the hood itself in spruce-blue, a teal-blue and white striped workout wristband on both wrists, pistachio/chartreuse-green camouflage cargo pants, and spruce-blue running shoes with teal-blue tongues and white laces.
Remember the moments where Twilight knew Pinkie and Applejack's names off the top of her head, Sonic held his hand beside his mouth and whispered to Twilight with curiosity, "Just wondering, do you know those girls' names too?"
Twilight nodded in response as she whispered back, "Apple Bloom's the one with the bow, Scootaloo's next to her, and Sweetie Belle's in the chair."
Upon hearing 'Apple' in one of the girls' names and remembering Applejack mentioning how her family had a business relating to apple products, Sonic looked over at the girl with the bow in particular, "Apple Bloom, huh? Wonder if she's Applejack's sister?"
Apple Bloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle continued dancing to the song in their video with enjoyment, that was until Cheerilee quickly turned the speaker off. Clearly she didn't seem to like their childness nor the noise in the library. With a sigh, she asked the three preteens, "Girls, what are you doing?"
Sweetie Belle answered with optimism, "We're just seeing how many hits our new music video has gotten."
Apple Bloom reached out and turned the speaker back on to max volume and the three preteens started dancing again. Cheerilee on the other hand, covered her ears from the noise. Having had enough, she grabbed the speaker off the table and disconnected it from the computer, "No, just… No! The school computers are for research purposes only."
Cheerilee walked away from the three preteens with their speaker, leaving them puzzled that they couldn't listen to their song. Apple Bloom decided to state what she felt was obvious as she scrolled down the page to see the comments on the video, "It's just as well, y'all. Some of the comments about our song were really awful. 'Epic fail'... 'Funniest thing I've ever seen'?!"
While Apple Bloom and Scootaloo looked puzzled at the feedback on the video, Sweetie Belle on the other hand smirked at this, "Funniest thing they've ever seen, huh?"
All three of the preteen girls smiled as a ding sound could be heard; the comment gave them an idea. They all started to run out of the library. Sonic raised his finger as he tried calling out to them, "Uh, ladies, that's probably not the best thing to take notes from…"
But the three preteens didn't seem to hear him as they just left the library. Sonic just gave the 'oh-well' shrug to himself to brush it off. Twilight approached the computer Cheerilee offered them and sat down on the chair. Unbeknownst to them, Snips and Snails were peeking at Sonic and Twilight from behind a pile of books; both recording them with their phones and snickering to each other, waiting for an opportunity to catch something on film.
As Sonic was approaching Twilight on the computer, his ear just happened to involuntarily twitch again, "Huh?"
Sonic turned his head over to hear something from the other side of the library doors. It sounded like voices, or more accurately, students talking out loud in a panic. He couldn't tell what whoever was outside of the library was saying, but their tone of voice gave him the feeling that there was trouble. And this made Sonic feel that something had to be done. But there was the problem; how was he going to do it without exposing himself to the public? If he used his powers out in the open, his face would go all over the news and he'd get the kind of attention he'd been avoiding, especially the authorities.
Sonic clenched his fist tightly with the sound of the fabric in his glove stretching from the grip with his teeth gritting; knowing the consequences of going out there and letting out his powers to the public. With these consequences could come a highly reduced chance of returning to Mobius. But it was a risk he had to take, whether he liked it or not.
With a silent grunt to himself, Sonic turned himself over to Twilight, "Twi, you keep doing your research. I gotta go. I'll be right back!"
Twilight's head perked up as she raised an eyebrow in confusion. She turned out in her chair to face Sonic, "What? Sonic, where are you going?"
Snips and Snails' eyes went open in surprise as they quickly hid their heads behind the books before they could be seen. Sonic responded to Twilight, "There's no time for questions. I need you to stay here and continue your research with Spike. There might be trouble outside, and I'm gonna go check it out. And if I don't come back quickly, don't wait on me."
Twilight and Spike weren't sure about this statement as they looked at each other for a brief moment with worry, but thinking that Sonic might be right, Twilight quickly nodded in response, "Alright, but be careful."
With a nod back and a thumbs-up, Sonic turned and started heading out of the library entrance. Snips and Snails were able to see him run out without being noticed. Snips quietly elbowed Snails on his arm, "Yo, you follow him. I'll keep on the girl here."
Snails nodded in response as he got up and started running to follow Sonic while Snips turned back to continue recording Twilight, quietly snickering to himself.
Sonic poked his head out of the library doors, looking left and right in hopes of knowing that no one would see him sneaking out while trying to listen better to the voices he heard. With no one in sight on his left or right, he went straight out of the doors and he started hearing someone talking much more clearly. Looking forward, he saw a pair of rocker students in a group talking with each other.
Sonic quickly hid behind a wall around the corner before the rocker students got a chance to notice him. Needing to hear a little more clearly, he slightly lifted half of his hood off so that his right ear could be uncovered to hear much better. He peeked over just enough to see that these particular rocker students were a girl named Cherry Crash, a guy called Thunderbass and another guy known as Valhallen.
Cherry was holding out her cell phone showing something on the screen to Thunderbass and Valhallen, "Yo, have you guys heard? A whole bunch of thick clouds just appeared out of nowhere and now there's some kind of white light just shining in the sky!"
Squinting his eyes, Sonic could see on Cherry's phone showing an image of a news report with dark clouds and a bright light in the sky. Upon seeing this image, he came to realize something; that light seemed to bear a resemblance to the same dimensional portal that Eggman had created, only very disoriented with particles of energy.
Thunderbass had his finger on his chin upon seeing the image, looking quite interested, "That's something you don't see every day. Does it say where this is happening?"
"The light seemed to be directly over the park!" Cherry answered with optimism, "Here! In Canterlot! I wonder what it could be."
Sonic quickly hid back behind the wall with a stern expression on his face; something was coming. And whatever it was, it couldn't be good. Nothing to be optimistic for. Knowing this was his chance, he grabbed his speed glasses from his forehead and placed them over his eyes, "Let's do it to it."
With a quick deep breath and a cracking from his knuckles, Sonic raised his foot from the floor with his fists up and suddenly dashed away with his super speed, leaving a quick blue blur following behind him. By whatever miracle, no one was able to notice him run off like that.
Well… almost no one, as Snails had just recorded him from behind an open locker door. His jaw was down in surprise at what he just witnessed. He quickly looked down at his phone, replaying the footage he just captured. Playing it in slow motion, he managed to catch Sonic just enough to see his body phase into a blue light and blur that only lasted for a few seconds. Knowing there could be more to Sonic than just speed, he decided to try and follow the Mobian to try and get as much footage as possible.
Then upon getting to this thought, something clicked into Snails' head; an idea. If he were to get footage of Sonic using his powers and posted it on the internet, he and Snips could get a seriously large number of views. Probably hundreds of millions. With a massive count of likes.
A smile slowly made its way onto Snails' face as he confidently arched an eyebrow, "No way I'm passing this up."
Back in Canterlot Park, the light in the vortex continued to shine with the mysterious object inside, the particles of energy flowing out and spreading across the air into nothingness. The dark clouds high above in the sky appeared to begin fading away, no longer blocking out the sunlight. However, the light from the vortex was outshining that of the sun.
Witnesses on the ground were all watching the scene with a mix of intrigue and wonder, skateboarders and other people were filming with their cell phones while cameramen for Canterlot City News were recording the sight with their film cameras. Soon enough, this news could spread across the globe. Police officers were also present in the area, being prepared to do their work and protect the citizens from any potential danger.
Within seconds, sparks of electricity crackled out of the vortex as the energy started flashing out with an indescribable noise and a brief, sudden flash of light. And then it suddenly vanished with the object covered in an aura of light. Falling straight to the ground. Spinning around as it plummeted to the earth.
The witnesses all made sudden gasps when they saw the object coming down fast. Wasting no time, they all started to turn around and run. Run to avoid getting caught in the crash landing. Luckily, they didn't have to go very far as the object was diving straight to the ground with a falling sound. Closer and closer… and then…
CRASH! The object collided with the ground with a slam followed by the ground shaking from the impact. A cloud of dirt and dust burst out from the landing, shooting upward into the air like an explosion from a bomb. A crater was left in the ground from the impact of the landing.
After the sudden crash, it was quiet. Everyone was silent. The citizens were left wondering what was to occur. Could this be the arrival of an alien species from another planet? The result of an advanced experiment with technology?
Slowly and with caution, a pair of cops armed with shields and their guns began approaching the crater. Every step they took had a one-second pause in between. Tension could be felt building up for whatever outcome was about to happen. Thirty feet closer the cops stepped towards the crater. Twenty-five. Twenty. Fifteen.
Now ten feet away, the armed cops stood in a line around the crater. Their guns pointed down at the hole in the ground, waiting for something, anything to come out. Nothing happened for five seconds. Six, seven, eight, nine…
(Sonic Generations 3DS OST - Boss Battle: Big Arm)
FWOOSH! Something suddenly shot upward from inside the crater in the air with a trail of smoke. The cops all jolted their heads upward to see whatever shot out of the crater was suddenly coming down towards them. The captain of the police quickly called out, "Get back!"
In response to this, the cops quickly jumped away right before the object made a ground-shaking impact upon the landing. With a quick ring of dust shooting, the object was revealed to be none other than Metal Sonic. The robotic hedgehog slowly stood onto his feet, his red eyes glowing with flashes going off from the robotic sounds he made. His presence alone seemed to be enough to send a chill of fear down anyone's spine as the witnesses were all looking terrified of the robot's sudden arrival.
Without hesitation, the captain's immediate response to the appearance of Metal was, "Shoot it!"
Following the captain's orders, the cops aimed their guns at the robot and began firing. Their pistols' slides shifted back and forward by every pull on the trigger with the bullets shooting out of the muzzles and the shells popping out of the ejection ports. However, the moment the bullets had made contact with Metal, they simply bounced off him and landed on the ground either bent or in pieces while the robot's armour remained completely undamaged. In response to this, Metal simply raised his right arm, and the mounted machine gun in the gauntlet deployed ready to fire.
Noticing the gun, the cops quickly raised their shields and stood their ground. Metal's machine gun began firing upon the police with a bright muzzle flash; his weapon firing at the speed of several bullets per second with a loud noise like an smg. While the cops' shields managed to block out Metal's weapon, they were taking severe damage from the speed and impact of each bullet.
At the sight of Metal firing his machine gun at an intense speed, the civilians in the background all began to run for their lives, yelling and screaming from the unfolding mayhem. Parents carried their children in their arms desperate to keep them safe from harm. Reporters and camera men quickly jumped into their vehicles and began driving away.
Metal continued firing his machine gun upon the police. Some remained behind their shields while the rest took cover behind the cars. Bullets continued spraying from the weapon, leaving holes and marks all over the place. However, as Metal got close to possibly breaking the cops' shields, his machine gun had just run out of ammo. He looked over at his weapon as a text appeared on his visor, telling him that his weapon needed to reload.
The captain peeked out from behind one of the cars to see that Metal needed to reload. An opportunity to rush in and try to take him down. Grabbing a police baton and taking a quick breath, he jumped over the hood of the car and began charging at Metal. But Metal simply didn't move; he just retracted his machine gun into his gauntlet and crossed his arms. With an aggressive yell, the captain jumped forward and swung his baton at the robot.
When the baton made contact with Metal, all there was for a result was the sound of a whack and the baton breaking in half from just one hit while the robot just stood there unphased, before he disapprovingly shook his head. Before the captain could get the chance to react, Metal reached his arm behind him, clenched his fist and swung a punch in the captain's stomach so hard that he was launched right into one of the police cars; shattering the windshield upon the impact. The rocket engine on Metal's back started firing up, and the robot started flying up into the air. The rest of the cops on the ground all reloaded their guns and started firing at him again, but like before they dealt no damage to his armour.
Metal gripped his fists as a light began appearing inside the depression in his chest. He quickly crossed his arms in front of him before he swung them out, firing an energy beam from his Plasma Blaster. The beam fired across the ground, leaving a damaged trail on the ground while cutting the police cars clean in half with burned marks. The cops on the ground all scattered away from the beam as it damaged the area in mere seconds. Some bushes caught sparks from the beam and started to catch fire. Quickly, the bushes were getting engulfed in flames with black smoke rising into the air from the heat.
Once Metal's beam had finally stopped, the scanners in his visor went off again, causing him to look forward and see two police helicopters flying towards him. The cops at the side doors aimed their assault rifles at him, eyeing him through their scops and pointing at the head. Still unphased, Metal simply raised his left arm and his missile launcher deployed out of the gauntlet, fully loaded with six missiles. His visor targeted both the helicopters, and two missiles fired out of the launcher. The cops with the rifles began firing towards the missiles, hoping to take them out before they could hit their target. The missiles were constantly spinning around in the air heading towards the choppers, making it more difficult for the cops to shoot by the second. Knowing there was no chance, the shooters and pilots, all wearing parachutes, jumped out of the helicopters right before the missiles landed. The choppers exploded the very second the missiles made contact and they fell straight down to the ground with an earth-shaking crash. The falling cops and pilots managed to bright out their parachutes so that they wouldn't hit the ground with a splat.
Metal retracted his missile launcher into his gauntlet, knowing that the helicopters had been dealt with. He lowered his head, looking below to see a pair of cops grouping up. Clenching his fist, his rocket engine charged up and he shot straight downward, flying right towards them like a homing rocket. One of the cops took notice of the robot coming down, and she quickly called out to the others, "Get down!"
The cops made their desperate attempt to jump away from Metal's landing point before the robot hit the ground. At the very second their feet were off the road, the mechanical hedgehog landed with his fist slamming into the ground, causing a big shaking in the area. The cops around him were blasted away by the wind his landing caused. Some of them had their heads collide into their cars, going unconscious.
Slowly, Metal rose once more onto his feet with his fists clenched and his eyes glowing bright red. He observed the area around him; the cops failed to take him down and the area was reduced into a burning fightzone with burning bushes and multiple cars and helicopters destroyed within minutes by him alone. For Metal Sonic, fighting against people with regular guns and older types of technology and weaponry… it was all too easy. Nothing that the people in this world possessed could defeat him.
When it seemed like there was nothing left for Metal to destroy… BANG! There was the sound of a gun going off as a bullet ricocheted right off his head. Slowly looking to his right, he saw an injured male officer, sitting against one of the cars, holding his pistol in one hand while gripping a wound on the side of his stomach with the other. His hand holding the gun shook as the officer groaned in pain from his crashing into the car.
Metal turned his body to fully face the wounded cop. Standing thirty feet away from him. Slowly, he started walking towards the officer; his feet clanking against the damaged road as he marched past the unconscious officers. The officer aimed his gun at Metal, "Stay away, you monster…"
The officer pulled the trigger on his gun, firing at Metal again. The robot was unphased as he continued walking forward while every bullet fired at him proved useless against his armour. Every step he took, he slowly got a foot closer to the officer. Closer and closer and closer…
The officer pulled the trigger on his gun again, but the slide went back and didn't retract forward. There were only clicking sounds with every pull on the trigger; the magazine was empty. All the ammo had been wasted on an indestructible robot. Now terrified of the machine menacingly approaching him, he shivered in fear as he dropped the gun on the ground.
Metal Sonic was now standing right in front of the officer, cornering him against the car. His shadow casted over him as the fire from the destroyed cars roared behind the machine. The robot's eyes glowed brightly in the darkness of its shadow. Drops of sweat slid down the side of the officer's head; he had nowhere to run. No way to fight back.
Deciding there should be no witnesses, Metal reached forward with his left hand, grabbing the officer by the neck. The cop choked for air as the robot's grip on his neck was very tight. He tried to pull off Metal's hand, but he didn't have any strength to fight. Metal then raised his right arm as the machine gun deployed from his gauntlet, aiming right for the officer's face. The cop choked and whimpered in fear, knowing what was about to come out of the barrel.
Metal gripped his fist as his machine gun shifted back and forth briefly, cocking the weapon and preparing to fire. The officer closed his eyes, bracing for death. But just as Metal was about to fire, his sensors suddenly began beeping rapidly as they picked up something. Something was approaching him out of nowhere.
Metal suddenly turned his head to the right only to see something bright and blue rushing straight at him. A bright blue blur suddenly dashed through, bashing into Metal and launching him into the air with the officer being released from the choke and falling unconscious to the ground. The robot was up in the air, when he suddenly started getting bashed and banged by the same blue blur hitting him repeatedly from random directions.
Suddenly, Sonic had appeared right in front of him with glimpses of blue aura from his energy soaring around him and the blue glow in his eyes. Metal turned around to see his enemy but didn't get the chance to counter him as Sonic immediately prepared for an attack before swinging his leg out for a powerful roundhouse kick, letting out a loud shout, "TERIAAAAA!"
Sonic delivered his roundhouse kick to Metal. The Mobian's foot slammed hard against the robot's face with the force from the attack so strong that said robot was sent flying off. Sonic then dropped to the ground with a stomp, his left fist and right knee down with his head bowed and his right arm in the air. The surrounding aura and glow in his eyes faded as he raised his head looking forward. Squinting his eyes, he could see Metal shooting over the landscape like an arrow firing from a bow, until the robot started dropping and falling down behind the distant hills.
Sonic rose to stand up straight with a very stern look on his face, his fist gripping tightly, "Metal Sonic's here. He must've gotten caught in the pull of that portal thingy. Good thing I got here when I did, otherwise that guy's face would be nasty mashed potatoes. Can't believe it took me that long to find this area, really gonna need to get familiar with this place."
Immediately after processing that, Sonic let out a sudden groan of pain. He raised his left foot from the ground and held his heel; apparently, the amount of force he put into the attack had also given him a bit of a blow as well, "Oow… Note to self, don't overdo your attacks after months of no butt-kicking."
Sonic laid down his foot and rotated it for a few seconds before he cracked his knuckles; he knew Metal wasn't going to give up that easily. Placing his hands on the ground, he slid his left foot behind his right, took a quick breath, and suddenly blasted away in a streaking, bright blue burst of light with a trail in that same blue light following behind him and the sound of him whooshing away at intense speeds.
It seemed that everyone who had seen Metal appear and attack the area didn't get the chance to witness Sonic showing up and saving the officer before rushing off to fight his robotic doppelganger. However, someone did see him. That someone was Snails. He knew where this place was, and he rode over here on his bicycle. He and his bike hid behind a tree so that he could record the action that took place in the area.
Snails looked at his phone and scrolled through the clips he managed to catch. Most of the footage he most recently caught were of Metal destroying the police's vehicles and attacking the cops. One of the clips was set in slow motion of Sonic bashing Metal around in the air before launching him away with his kick. And the last clip was of Sonic rushing off again to find Metal.
With a smile on his face, Snails felt more than confident that he caught just as much footage as he needed. Now all that was left to do was to edit the clips together and post them online. Putting his phone in his pocket and getting his helmet back on his head, he hopped onto his bike and began heading back to CHS.
The wind was blowing hard around as Metal dropped straight down towards the ground. The crash could have had its chances of leaving his armour damaged. However, his irises suddenly reappeared on his visor as he reactivated. He twisted his body in the air as the rocket engine started firing out, allowing the robot to slow down his falling. Once he reached the ground, he landed in the middle of the road on the highway with his fist slamming down with enough force to leave the spot damaged.
Mere seconds after Metal's landing on the road, Sonic suddenly appeared yards straight across from the robot's position. Flickers of lightning briefly sparkled around his arms. The Mobian took off his glass and pulled off his hoodie to reveal his ears to his rival, "Recognize me, Metal?"
The sound of Sonic's voice caused Metal to jolt his head upwards with his eyes glowing brightly. His scanners immediately began scanning Sonic for every detail; upon seeing his hedgehog ears and scanning his DNA, his identity was confirmed. Recognizing his target, Metal gripped his fists tightly wanting viciously to attack. His rocket engine started firing up, ready to charge forward and engage.
Sonic quickly pulled his hood back up and put his glasses on. Preparing for the fight, he cracked his knuckles, slightly stepped back with one foot and raised his fists towards his robot rival, "Bring it on!"
With his rocket engine fully on, Metal's feet were lifted off the ground as the robot started flying towards Sonic. Sonic quickly got onto the ground for a run sprint, and he suddenly dashed forward with his blue blur and energy following him. The two speedy enemies charged towards each other at intense speeds. As they got closer and closer, they jumped off the ground flying towards each other with their fists raised ready to throw an attack. The first fight in a long time between Sonic and Metal Sonic was about to begin.
