Early in the administration, Mrs. Landingham confronted me. She stated that I took care of Josh at work; that I answered his phone, managed his time, his files, his paperwork. I watched out for his interests, doing the things he never thinks about. Confused, I responded that's what an assistant does.
She stated that I do much more. She asked if I ran his personal errands, made sure he eats, deflected his enemies, entertained him. I admitted that was true.
She said, congratulations, you are Josh's office wife. Just remember this, you are only his office wife, and nothing more.
