Cullen
Rachel and me were sitting at the Dining Room table.
"Bread."
She grabbed the bowl of bread.
I took a piece of it.
Rachel put it back on the table.
I threw it back in the basket of bread.
"Salt, honey."
She grabbed the salt shaker.
Rachel put salt on my food.
She put the salt shaker back on the table.
I took a sip of my soup.
"Water."
Rachel grabbed the glass.
She poured water in it.
Rachel put the glass pitcher of water back on the table.
I took a sip of the water.
I put the glass back on the table.
She jumped back when I banged the table.
"What's this junk?" I demanded an answer.
"Are you feeding me this sour stuff to starve me?" I questioned.
"I pay for groceries. For the tablecloth and the table." I pointed out.
"And that's how you thank me?" I inquired.
"You are nothing without me. You're not worth half of this tablecloth." I told Rachel.
I got up.
I put the food in the trash.
"Oh, shut up!"
She covered her mouth.
"The garbage belongs in the garbage can." I pointed out.
"I told you to shut up!"
Rachel put her hands up.
"Dinner is over. You ruined it."
I took her bowl.
Rachel
I exhaled and inhaled shakily.
My phone was ringing.
It was my Mom.
I tried to quickly answer it.
Cullen
I grabbed Rachel's wrist.
"Drop it now!"
"She's worried about me. It's my mother. She just wants to know if I'm okay. Let me talk to her. Let me talk to her in front of you."
"No!"
She stared up at me.
"You're my Wife. My property." I told Rachel.
"And if I tell you not to talk to your mother, you have to obey."
She looked down.
"And if I tell you not to leave the house, you stay here!"
Rachel flinched at my loud voice.
She flinched away when I stroked her hair.
"Because I said so, okay?" I questioned.
I grabbed Rachel's chin in my hand.
"Nod if you understand."
She nodded her head.
"You can't keep me locked up all the time."
I laughed.
"Keep you locked up?" I inquired.
I let go of Rachel's chin.
"You have nowhere to go, silly."
She flinched away when I stroked her hair.
"I'm your husband. You need me. I own you, Rachel. And like anything, you're useless without your Master." I pointed out.
"If you value your life, do as I say." I told Rachel.
"Give me the phone!" I instructed.
She stared up at me.
"Give me the phone."
Rachel put it in my hand.
"And I don't want to hear about your mother anymore."
I kissed her on the forehead.
I dropped the phone on the floor.
"Got it?!"
Rachel nodded her head.
I walked away.
Rachel
I was sobbing.
