Hovering in the vast expanse of blackness, a solar powered satellite drifted over the earth's surface, a lone figure in the emptiness of space. Suddenly a pair of red, glowing eyes materialized out of the darkness and the satellite was pulled from its course by a metallic pincer-like hold, reeling it like a fish caught in a fishing line.
The culprit was a black and gray robot. The machine had a dome-shaped head, and piercing red eyes with a speaker in the place of a mouth. Its body was conical, which created a V shape from an angle. Two pincers were in the place of hands, and those hands were now in possession of the satellite. With its prize secured, the machine descended into the earth's atmosphere before disappearing among the clouds. Hidden within one cloud was a red V-shaped jet, and it was there that the robot had retreated to.
"Just look at all my shiny new toys."said Zach Varmitech from inside the aircraft, admiring a number of stolen satellites within the cargo hold. "Ah well, too bad I have to grind them all into robot parts. Those Wild Rats were right all along, recycling is so much fun! And cost effective!"
In that moment, a thought occurred to him. "Hmmm. Speaking of Wild Rats, Spy-bot! Go see what they're up too!" On its maker's command, the hovering robot dashed out of the jet to the last known whereabouts of his foes.
Elsewhere in the world, the Wild Kratts team was stationed somewhere in the untamed wilds of Southeast Asia, turtle ship parked in a wide sunlit clearing in the heart of the jungle where it blended almost perfectly with the colors of the forest. Inside, the crew was preoccupied with tidying up the interior; While Aviva emptied out the closets and storage, Koki dusted the many nooks and crannies with a modified duster; the Kratt Brothers took to window cleaning thanks to Gecko Powers. Even Jimmy Z did his fair share of household chores as he did he vacuuming, or more accurately, riding on the roomba while reading his comic book.
Little did they know that they were being watched. "Ooooh. So they're relaxing today? And doing busy work. This could be a good time for me to strike, while their defenses are down."
Back in the Tortuga, Amber helped in any way that she could, whether it was handing out much needed cleaning agents or rearranging the bookshelves. She even helped Koki with the dusting, carrying one duster in her clawed hands while another was tied to the end of her tail. Turning around a bend found the young raptor in the cockpit, a place that under normal circumstances required for her to be supervised by Jimmy or the rest of the team. Ever so curious, she experimented with the radio, using the tip of her claw to change the radio station. After minutes of scrolling, she eventually found a tune that she immensely liked.
(BG Music: Marie by Solveig Sandnes)
Birdlike, she bobbed her head to the beat, tail gently swaying, her foot claws tapping the floor before racing out to rejoin the group outside. On her way out however, her tail inadvertently pushed the loudspeaker button so that the musical atmosphere flooded the entire HQ.
Needless to say, after a brief moment of confused silence, the Tortuga HQ was filled with merriment and laughter as the team cleaned and worked to the rhythm of the upbeat music, and even the most arduous of tasks became more bearable. They had even come up with much more creative means to get the job done; while the Kratt Brothers used different creatures powers for various tasks, each of the Wild Kratts crew was equipped with Aviva's Tail Attachment belts that acted like extra sets of hands, which aided Koki greatly in organizing the database tenfold; Aviva herself utilized a backpack with four independently moving robotic arms that operated on artificial intelligence, all the while trading her shoes for roller skates; Jimmy took things a step further and mopped the garage floors by skating on sponges tied to his feet. To finish off, Martin and Chris sprayed the entire interior of the turtle ship in a shower of fragrant bubbles, courtesy of Elephant Powers. Then came Amber's favorite pastime of chasing and popping bubbles.
In almost no time at all, the entire base was sparkling clean.
"We're done early."said Aviva, wiping the sweat from her forehead.
"The Tortuga's so clean you could eat off of it!" Koki declared proudly. Just then, boxes of pizzas were dropped upon the main platform, courtesy of Jimmy Z who wasted no time in wolfing down slice after slice.
"What? All this cleaning makes me hungry."
Aviva and Koki cast the pilot deadpan expressions– until they erupted into laughter, causing the boys to do the same. Even Amber joined in with her guttural warble of a laugh, enjoying these moments with her family. But it didn't last long as the remainder of the bubbles continued to fascinate her attention.
"And that gives us plenty of time to go creature adventuring!" said Martin, running out the door. "We're off!"
Chris followed not far behind. "We'll be back soon!" But not before planting a kiss on Aviva's cheek, earning a giggle from the inventor.
On the railing close to the sunroof, Amber was too preoccupied to notice their departure; she was chasing a colorful butterfly fluttering just out of reach. Just as the insect hovered away from her snapping jaws, the young raptor noticed something from the corner of her eyes. It looked like a funny looking black tin can just outside the balcony. Floating there, observing the activities of the Wild Kratts team with red, unblinking eyes. The thing didn't seem to notice her presence as it continued to stare and watch. Amber's curiosity soon got the better of her as her tail swished from side to side, claws tapping the floor involuntarily.
She made her pounce.
Back in Zach's jet, the screen suddenly went static, catching the evil inventor completely by surprise. "Aww man! Just when it was getting to the good part!" Whatever happened meant that there was a glitch in the system or, more likely, the Spy-bot had been caught.
"Replay that last footage!" The image that greeted the ill fated Zachbot was a mouthful of razor sharp teeth before going static.
For a brief moment, the evil inventor was speechless. Finally, he spoke what was on his mind.
"What is that?"
"Species Unknown, my Greatness."his monitor replied.
The evil inventor was all ears. "An unknown creature you say? So those Wild Rats have a beastie completely new to science. And it's completely armed to the teeth." he snapped his fingers. "Lightbulb!"
No sooner had Zach spoke when a Zachbot zoomed up to him with a lightbulb in its grasp. "No, I don't need a lightbulb! I mean lightbulb– like I have an idea. It's a saying– lightbulb!" The mechanical minion extended its arm, bringing the lightbulb under the inventor's nose. "Oh forget it!" These robots were hopeless.
"If only I could enslave this creature... I would be unstoppable! Once I get my hands on that beastie, I'll create an even more powerful robot, and getting rid of those pesky Wild Rats will be a breeze. Or better yet! An army of ferocious beastie robots! I'll sell millions and I'll make billions!"
The inside of the jet was filled with Zach Varmitech's evil laugh as it quickly made its descent back to Earth.
* Meanwhile...*
"It came from this way!"shouted Koki.
"What's going on?"asked Aviva, Jimmy Z following not far behind.
"Yeah. What's all the ruckus?"
The trio ran outside in the direction of the loud crashing noise. They found Amber surrounded by pieces of scrap metal, chewing on a severed dome shaped head.
"A Zachbot?"they all questioned simultaneously.
Then it occurred to them. "Zach!"
Elsewhere, deep in the jungle, Martin and Chris were on the trail of an elusive, rarely seen creature. It was close. They could feel it. Just a few more paces, and they can add a new species to their creature life list. Closer. Closer...
Suddenly the Creaturepods began to ring, scaring away the brothers' quarry with the loud noise.
"No!" cried the pair, watching as the mystery animal scampered away into the thick underbrush.
"We were so close!" Chris lamented.
Martin was quick to assure his younger brother. "Whatever it is, it must be really urgent." He picked up his mobile device.
"Kratt bros, this is the Tortuga HQ! Come in, Kratt bros!"came Koki's voice on the other end.
"Kratt bros here,"answered Martin. A holographic screen appeared before them, revealing the rest of the team.
"Guys, Amber caught one of Zach's Spy-bots, and we believe that Zach is not too far away."warned Koki.
"Zach!"interjected the Kratt Brothers, exchanging worried glances, the same dreadful thought on both their minds.
"Hide Amber, get her somewhere safe."said the Kratt in blue.
"And don't let Zach see her!" Chris interjected.
"You got it, Kratt bros!" Aviva replied.
They could hear Koki's voice cry out, "What the–" before the screen went static.
No response.
"We're on our way!" Martin declared.
Still no response.
"Aviva? Aviva! Come in!" cried Chris, growing ever more worried about his girlfriend's predicament. "C'mon, Martin! We gotta go!"
* Back in the Tortuga...*
Back in the Tortuga, Aviva, Koki, and Jimmy Z found themselves completely surrounded by a platoon of Zachbots as the evil inventor himself looked over them on his hovering platform.
"Oh, how the turns have tabled."said Zach in a sinister manner, leering over his enemies.
"Ummm... I think you mean 'how the tables have turned'."the Tortuga pilot corrected.
"D'oh!"growled the evil inventor. "Look, we can do this the easy way, or we can do this the hard way. Whichever way you choose, you will tell me where that vicious lizard thing is."
"Huh?" The Wild Kratts crew were puzzled.
"What lizard thing?"asked the Wild Kratts inventor.
"Oh, I think you mean Amb–" Jimmy never finished as Koki smothered his mouth with her hand, effectively silencing him.
"We have no idea what you're talking about, Zach."she denied, eyes narrowed.
"Even if we did, we'll never tell!" Aviva added defiantly.
To this, Zach smirked evilly. "Hard way it is. Round them up!" Two mechanical minions proceeded to trap their captives on an orb of red energy, tightly enough to the point where they formed a ring. "Oh, I didn't mean literally! I mean, just put them together and put an energy cage over them so they won't bother us!"
Amber watched everything unfold from her hidden vantage point in the closet. These machines had meant harm to her friends and the cruel person in black was certainly no friend. She did not like this. She couldn't just stay hidden while her friends were trapped by the likes of that pest. That vermin. She had to do something.
"If you won't tell me, I'll just order my Zachbots to take your precious turtle ship, bit by bit, until we find that varmint." The inventor chuckled evilly. "Starting with you."
On command, one Zachbot slowly approached the trapped trio, trading one of its pincers for a whirring saw that glistened and hummed with menacing intent. Aviva, Koki, and Jimmy Z could only scream with fright, helpless to stop the mechanical minion that closed in to seal their doom.
Suddenly a bloodcurdling screech was heard, and a flash of orange pounced on the machine, literally tearing it to pieces in a flurry of razor-sharp teeth and claws.
"Amber!"
Once the Zachbot had been reduced to scrap metal, Amber turned her trapped pack members, she warbled pitifully before biting and scratching at the energized bars, trying in vain to release them from their prison. The young raptor then turned to the pale pest with a hateful glare, growling as she flashed her teeth.
Safe on his platform, Zach was flabbergasted to say the least. His eyes did not deceive him. "No flipping way. A real life dinosaur?! This changes everything!"
Amber snarled before shrieking angrily at Zach. "Zachbots! You know what to do. Catch that lizard thingy!"
"Amber, run!"cried Aviva.
"Get outta here!"shouted Koki.
And run she did, using her speed and agility to race and leap around the Tortuga HQ, skillfully dodging every attempt the Zachbots made to capture her.
"It's right there! Over there! No, behind you!" yelled Zach, pointing with his finger the direction his target was going, growing more and more frustrated with each failed attempt to catch the varmint. "Somebody catch that monster already!"
He suddenly heard a chilling hiss before coming face to face with a growling reptilian face full of dagger-like teeth, cold amber eyes staring right into his fearful green ones, narrow slits for pupils. The beast was on the platform with him!
"Zachbots! Help! It's over here!"he cried out, just as the monster jumped off the platform, leaving him to be caught in the net of one of his own minions.
After evading the net wielding robot, the dinosaur jumped onto the upper floor, where she noticed a single Zachbot hovering over her friends, keeping them inside the red cage. Plan of attack formulated, she made her next move. With a bloodcurdling scream, the young raptor sprinted towards the robot holding the crew captive before leaping off the railing, claws outstretched, effectively dismantling the machine with her pounce. With the Zachbot down, the energy cage imprisoning the Wild Kratts team was completely destroyed.
"Alright! We're free!"cheered the Tortuga pilot. But they had little time to celebrate when they witnessed Amber now going on the offensive, unleashing a brutal assault on Zachbot after Zachbot. The team watched in wide eyed horror as mechanical limbs were torn asunder, circuitry tugged violently from lifeless mechanical bodies, heaps of scrap metal littering the floor. Gone was the playful hatchling that had grown up in their care, and in her place was a formidable killing machine from a bygone era. They were suddenly taken back to the island, where they fought for their very lives against ravenous predators of another age, flashbacks of carnage and stark terror flooded their minds. Claws, teeth, screaming... so much screaming...
One by one, a good number of Zachbots had been taken down. Amber then turned to Zach with seething hatred, fangs bared, her scaly skin a blazing crimson red. The evil inventor paled, backing up his platform a few paces. Searching for a means of escape, he looked over his shoulder to see–
"It's Blue Boy and Green Guy! Retreat! Retreat!" he shouted to his remaining henchmen.
"Zach!"exclaimed the Kratt Brothers, both surprised and angered by the inventor's presence.
"Hey, Zach! Remember us?" Zach turned around to see the rest of the team, now free from the energy cage, as well as the angry Velociraptor that totaled his robots, baring her teeth with a snarl. He knew that the odds were not in his favor.
"Ummm I have an appointment? Goodbye!" The evil inventor and the surviving Zachbots made a beeline out of the Tortuga as fast as their circuits could carry.
"Good riddance!"said Koki with no little contempt.
"And don't come back anytime soon!"shouted Aviva as she watched them disappear out of sight.
Chris immediately ran over to Aviva, holding her in a tight embrace. "Is everyone okay?"he asked, eyes filled with concern.
"We're fine."she answered rather shakily. All eyes were turned to Amber who stood as still as stone, golden eyes never leaving the Tortuga's entrance where Zach and his posse had fled. Her skin was still a few shades of red. She didn't even move. Only her snorting breath could be heard.
"Amber? Are you okay?" Martin reached out to gently stroke her. Without warning, the Velociraptor pounced on his chest, causing him to land on his back to the floor.
It all happened so fast. The sight that greeted the bewildered older Kratt's eyes were rows of razor sharp teeth bared in a growl. He could feel the dinosaur's hot breath against his face, and the piercing stare of yellow eyes glaring down on him, pupils narrowed into dangerous slits.
Those same cold, calculating eyes that haunted his nightmares. It all brought back terrifying memories from Isla Nublar.
"Amber! What's gotten into you?"called Koki sternly, but one could hear a fearful edge in her voice. The others stood as still as stone, fearfully anticipating the raptor's next move.
"Amber!" Chris commanded. "Get off of him!"
In an instant, the feral look in her eyes disappeared and she quickly jumped off of Martin's, breathing heavily, skin tone returning to its normal orange. What had she done?
As the young raptor recollected herself, she paled as she saw her reflection in the shards of broken glass on the floor. She was greeted by very familiar and very monstrous face. She saw flashbacks of the blood soaked snouts of the savage beasts depicted on the museum mural. The formidable skeletons with an air of menace even 65 million years after death. And the look of fright on Ellie Sattler's face when she had first met the paleobotanist. The very same looks they had right now. Was she really a monster?
"Amber?" Martin's quiet voice brought her out of her thoughts. "Are you okay?" He began to slowly reach his hand for her. The hand that had raised her and cared for her. The hand she attacked.
Amber snorted as she shook her head. She couldn't risk hurting her family again. They would be much safer without a monster in their midst.
She turned tail and sped out of the Tortuga in a flash.
"Amber!"
"Amber, come back!"
Amber forced herself to block out their calls as she kept running. Where, she did not know. Anywhere where they would be safe from her.
(BG Music: I Need To Know by Phil Collins)
Amber didn't know how long she had been running through the untamed jungles of Southeast Asia. She stopped when she reached a high rise overlooking much of the forest. Looking over the sea of green, she could see the clearing where the Tortuga was situated several miles away, looking like a speck in the distance. It had been her home for the last year. Reluctantly, the young Velociraptor looked away, urging herself to move on.
She couldn't go back. She could not hurt them. Not again. They were not her kind. She was not one of them.
After several hours, the young dinosaur stopped along the banks of the river to drink. She had just drank her fill when her hind legs leaped back almost on their own accord, narrowly escaping the snapping jaws of a hungry crocodile laid in ambush. Fortunately for her, the reptile knew better than to hope for a second ambush attempt on such nimble quarry. Amber wisely gave the riverbank a wide berth as she moved on.
Time had little meaning as Amber continued her trek. Along the way, she encountered a herd of elephants on the move to better feeding grounds. Seeing the strong family ties of the massive pachyderms and the tenderness they showed to their young ones reminded the young raptor of her own family. The elephants, however, had little tolerance for the strange creature in their midst, especially with small calves to protect. A few trumpets and mock charges were enough to send her deeper into the jungle.
Even out here, she was out of place. A creature out of time. Was there anywhere that she belonged?
Eventually it was hunger that forced the dinosaur to halt her traveling in search for food. Having been provided for by the Wild Kratts team for the entirety of her life, Amber had never needed to feed herself. But it seemed like she now had to earn her food. However, the young carnivore's inexperience was plainly clear in her unsuccessful attempts at catching small prey. Where lack of hunting experience was apparent, the deeply ingrained voice of instinct soon took over.
Creeping through the thick undergrowth, Amber's golden eyes were locked on a pair of saola, shy and elusive spindle-horned bovines, foraging in a jungle clearing. Just when the Velociraptor was poised to strike, a black panther leaped out of the shadows, catching one bovid and sending the other in flight.
Still hidden in the dense undergrowth, Amber quietly watched as the cat quickly ended the saola's struggles with a single bite to the neck. Savage as it may be, this was the unwritten law of the land; some must die so that others may live. There was neither malice nor remorse. Seizing his quarry by the throat, the black panther began to drag his kill to a more secure location to eat.
It was now or never as hunger soon won over caution, and Amber made her presence known as she emerged from the foliage. The panther immediately moved in to guard his kill, snarling his displeasure at this strange interloper who dared to steal his prize. Flushing vibrantly, Amber hissed even louder, frightening the big cat who darted into the woods, disappearing into the shadows.
At first, she was hesitant about even approaching the dead flesh. But the smell of crimson that assaulted her senses proved to be irresistible. Using her left foot for a secure hold, she tore into the hot flesh, her curved, serrated teeth making short work of the saola carcass before eventually eating her fill.
By sundown, Amber stood up on a cliff side overlooking the lush river valley. But her mind was not on taking in the view; throughout the jungle, animals of every sort remain in constant communication. From where she stood on the high ridge, the sounds of other creatures seemed to come from everywhere.
Maybe a good shout from here will travel well.
Amber shrieked from the top of her lungs, filling the valley with a cry that had never been heard before, a cry from some other world. For a brief moment, the jungle fell silent, except for a faint reply, equally chilling.
Deceived by her own echo, Amber perked up as she wagged her tail, believing that she had made contact with another creature of her kind. She called out again, the distinctive barking call of her kind. The voice called out again, but staying the same distance, never coming closer, and playing the same tune, never changing pitch or tone.
Growing more and more frustrated, the Velociraptor let out a few more anguished calls. Same result. Amber's cries for companionship go unanswered. Her calls faded like the sunset on this strange and lonely land.
Before long, darkness had fallen over the land, the only source of light being the moon beaming in the night sky. After much searching, the young raptor located a deep cave in which to rest for the night. The first night she had ever spent alone. Outside, she could hear the various calls of unseen nocturnal creatures in the forest, ready for their evening rounds. And within the cavern, drops of water fell from the overhanging stalactites, splashing into the puddles below. Drip, drip, drip, drip.
Luckily, the resident colony of bats had already left for the evening in search of food, and there was no evidence of any other animal taking residence in the cave. Cold, miserable, and alone, Amber curled herself on the cave floor. Her golden eyes were almost closed when her head snapped up, senses on full alert. She wasn't alone.
The young raptor sniffed the air. She couldn't smell anything, yet her instincts rang loud and clear. A low growl rumbled from her throat as she readied herself for confrontation, toe claws tapping the cave floor, her tail slowly swaying from side to side. Unbeknownst to her, many pairs of glowing red eyes materialized out of the darkness behind her.
Amber sprang into action, and with one bite, severed the outstretched limb that dared to touch her before pouncing on her enemy; one of the same robots she had fought earlier that day! Another bite beheaded the foul contraption. Another erupted out of the shadows, catching her off guard as it tackled her from behind. The young raptor struggled to break free, furiously snapping her jaws, clawed hands and feet thrashing uselessly in her attempt to escape. Options limited, she used her long and powerful tail to land a critical blow to the Zachbot, sending it crashing against the cave wall. The machine ducked in time to avoid being clawed by its target, who was once again on the offensive. But as raptors seldom missed twice, it soon fell victim to Amber's teeth and tenacity.
Another one down. Amber shook herself all over. It was time to get out of here. But before she knew it, she was completely surrounded from all sides by perhaps a dozen Zachbots, with no chances of escape.
She tapped her claws on the cave floor.
The cave echoed with primordial shrieks as the battle raged on. For every Zachbot she took down, another took its place. Suddenly, the fight was ended when the Velociraptor found herself entangled in a net.
"Gotcha!"
The raptor struggled against the bindings, but soon she was overpowered by dozens of robotic henchmen who wasted no time in restraining her. Riding atop one of his minions, Zach observed everything with an evil grin.
"Load that beast onto my jet." The stony walls of the cavern echoed with the inventor's diabolical cackle.
* Meanwhile...*
"Amber!"
"Amber!"
"Amber, where are you?"
As the sun rose over the horizon, a pair of voices echoed across the valley as the Kratt Brothers scoured the jungle searching for Amber. The rest of the team had split up to cover other parts of the forest to widen their search. So far they turned up with nothing.
"We've been searching all night. There's no sign of her anywhere!"said Martin, laced with worry and remorse.
Chris put a comforting hand on his brother's shoulder. "Don't worry, bro. We'll find her."
"When? We don't have any leads! And we only have less than a week to find her before the lysine contingency takes effect. And if we don't..." the older Kratt couldn't bring himself to finish that sentence. Heaving a heavy sigh, Martin hung his head, his usually lively eyes were dull and downcast, and they would have remained that way had they not spotted something amiss on the forest floor. "Huh?"
"What is it?"inquired Chris.
"Footprints!"
Chris laid on the ground to analyze the strange footprints; these tracks were very similar to those of a bird, except for the larger size and the absence of a third toe. "Hmm. No jungle animal makes tracks like these. That could only mean one thing,"
For a brief moment, the older Kratt's upbeat attitude returned. "She went this way!"
Now that they had a lead, the two creature adventurers wasted no time in following the trackway as they meandered throughout the game trail, following it as though it were the only path in all of Asia. Suddenly something far ahead caused the two to come to a screeching halt.
"Martin, look!" In the center of the forest clearing laid a half eaten carcass of some hoofed animal. The abdominal cavity had been torn open and the flesh and innards had been eaten. The rest of the ungulate was still intact, allowing the pair to identify the victim.
"A saola!"
"Also known as a spindlehorn."
"Or a Vu Quang."
"Asia's unicorn."the Kratt in blue remarked sadly. "One of the rarest large mammals in the world. Very few people have ever seen them in the wild."
The creature adventurers stooped down to inspect the carcass. "This kill was made only yesterday."said Chris.
A cold chill ran through Martin's spine. "You don't think that–"
"No." Chris replied, cutting off his brother's speculation. He then pointed to the bovid's neck. "Take a look at these puncture marks on the neck. Definitely the work of a big cat. My guess, a leopard."
"But look at these." In Martin's hand was a set of two or three curved, serrated teeth. These teeth were very familiar. "Shed teeth."
"They're the teeth that naturally fall out of a dinosaur when they're feeding."said the Kratt in green.
In Martin's mind, there could be no doubt about it. "She was here."
"So the leopard must've killed the saola before Amber swooped in and scared him off, and feasted on the kill." Chris deduced, piecing everything together in his head.
"And look!" The younger Kratt looked to where his brother pointed at the tracks leaving the clearing. "There's the trail!"
Martin and Chris took off renewed confidence and hope. "Follow that trail!"
The trail they followed led for several more miles into the jungle and across the river, and so eager were they in reaching their destination that they didn't stop at all to rest. They eventually arrived in a remote cavern on the mountainside. "Amberrrr! berr-berr-ber!" Their voices echoed across the cave walls, disturbing the overhanging bats as they squealed and shrieked in protest. "Amber are you in here? ere-ere-ere?"
"Amber where are you?! You-you-ou!" Their only answer came from the agitated bats swooping over their heads.
"This is where the trail ends."said Martin glumly, sitting ungracefully on the stony ground. "She's not here."
"Psst. Martin?" Martin did not seem to hear first time. "Martin!"
"Huh?"
"Check this out." The older Kratt looked to where Chris pointed on the cave walls. "Claw marks."
"But tigers have not been seen in this area for decades."said Martin skeptically; he knew that the populations of tigers were locally extinct in the jungles of Vietnam.
Chris' eyes narrowed as he analyzed the markings on the stony walls. There were only three marks where there should be five. "This was no tiger." A sudden clanging sound at his foot seized his attention. "Huh?"
He looked down to see something that definitely did not belong in the cave, nor any natural setting for that matter. It seemed to be a severed pipeline with a pincer at the end. The younger Kratt's eyes narrowed in suspicion; he had seen these before.
"A Zachbot."
"And here's several more," came Martin's voice quote some distance away. Chris came over to where Martin stood, and at their feet were the scattered remains of at least four or five robots, mingled with raptor tracks. The scene of a fearsome battle.
The pair exchanged horrified glances. It all clicked.
"Zach!"
* I'm back! I'm really sorry for the million-year wait, got SO distracted by so many other stories. And I'm greatly surprised by how many readers still follow this fic on FF and Wattpad. Means quite a lot. -
At the time of writing this, I heard the first song Marie by Solveig, and just couldn't get enough of it! And great music does help me tremendously with chores around the house. (I'm a 90's guy, who usually prefers older music from before the previous decade...) The second, rather somber one was from Tarzan 2 performed by the legendary Phil Collins, though the title of that one comes from the Broadway musical show.
I already have the upcoming chapters in mind, and hopefully it won't take too much longer! Until then, keep on creature adventuring!
