A/N: This takes place shortly after Sirius' death. And it is most definitely a one-shot.

Remus was in his bedroom in the House of Black. He was sitting on the deep red carpet with his back against the bed. At his feet laid a fairly large box full of photographs. He had done this once a year, every year after James' and Lily's death and Sirius' imprisonment. The last two years, however, he had not followed this ritual. He thought that he could live with out it. But as he began again, he found that the ritual had kept him sane, alive, and it kept him from forgetting.

Remus picked out the first picture. It was of his first train ride to Hogwarts. He had just been "stumbled upon" by James and Sirius. There was sweets wrappers everywhere, and James was sporting lime green hair. How Sirius had managed that one, Remus never knew. A smile crossed Remus' face. Those were the days.

The next picture he pick out was one of Lily. She looked beautiful with her red hair cascading down her back. The green robes she was wearing brought out the color of her eyes. He had taken the picture several days before they had broken up. He had tried to drown himself in the shower that day, but as fate would have it, it hadn't worked. The only thing it had done was make him very wrinkly for several hours.

Ouch! Was all Remus could think of as he drew out the next picture. James had gotten a hold of his camera and had been playing around with it. Unfortunately for Remus, this had happened while he was sound asleep, shirtless on top of the covers of his bed. The resulting picture was one of his scarred back. There were recent red welts, and old scars that were slightly paler than the rest of his skin. James had been so sorry to have taken the picture. His embarrassment had been a sight worth seeing.

The next one had been a more recent one. It was one of Sirius in the kitchen of the House of Black. His head was thrown back in laughter. The Weasley twins, plus Ginny, had just done something. Remus wasn't sure what it was, but it had made Sirius laugh. It had also made Mrs. Weasley scowl something fierce. It had been the first time Remus had seen Sirius laugh since he had escaped from Azkaban.

Lily and James' wedding. It had been a joyous occasion for most of the people present, but for Remus it had been heart breaking. He had never really gotten over Lily, but he was so glad to see James happy. Remus had taken the picture during the reception, during one of the dances. Lily and James both looked ecstatic. Nothing could have made the moment better for either of them.

I was wondering when I'd be seeing this one. Remus thought as he gazed at the picture. It had been the first time that James, Sirius, and Peter had tried to transfigure themselves into their animagus forms. Peter had some whiskers and had a light coat of soft white fur. Sirius had a long black shaggy dog's tail. And James, well, he had hoofs. It had taken all that Remus had to take the picture before collapsing to the floor in gales of laughter.

All of the pictures and the memories were beginning to have an adverse affect on Remus. tears were pouring down his cheeks. I can't do this. I'll just put them back under the bed until next year. But they are your past, they are the pictures of your life. They show who you are. His conscience told him. Okay just a few more. they kept me from killing myself last time. And I think that Harry just might want to see some of these.

With that, Remus wiped his eyes, stood up, picked up the box and headed down the stairs.

"Harry!! I have something that I want to show you!" He yelled up through the house as he headed to the kitchen. Whoever said that he had to do this alone?
