"Previously on Total Drama Malibu!" Geoff started off the recap, standing in front of a bus on the sidewalk, with Bridgette at his side. Footage from the last episode was shown, depicting the beach combing in the gray weather. "Things got off to a murky start in the morning, with neither team really in a good mood. Didn't help that there was overcast weather, bummer dude! Jo and Vanessa tried to team up, but Vanessa wanted to double cross Jo to take out the toughest athlete in the game! The teams just had to dig up shells though, giving them plenty of time to just hang out. When it rained though, Mickey and Jay began to sink, but were miraculously saved by a hero called the Pink Panda! Just who is she? Vanessa trying to backstab Jo didn't work out though, as Jo did the same and sent her home! With Vanessa gone, is Mike finally gonna catch a break? And who is taking the loser bus home next? Find out right here, on Total, Drama, Malibu!"
Intro Sequence:
Instead of the usual rock tune of I Wanna Be Famous, harsher electric guitar chords came in at A minor, along with harsher drum beats and synths. Cameras popped out of various places along a beach in Malibu, first a trash can, then from behind a lounge chair, then out of some sand. Before the lyrics came in, a film clapper appeared in front of the camera and began the scene.
Whatever happened to the young young lovers? One moved on and the other got lost in
After the scene began, the camera briefly showed a beautiful stretch of a Malibu beach, with a bustling street right behind it. Geoff and Bridgette were shown on a pier together, each of them raising an arm to let the camera zoom by them. Mike was a bit behind them, just watching the co-hosts with a blank expression.
Meds and shocks and tears in the street, tears on his knees, teary history
Vanessa and Zoey were further down the pier, playing a carnival throwing game together. Vanessa had a big smile on her face as she got a bullseye with a baseball, making Zoey sigh as she threw and missed her shot.
Whatever happened to the Nerd Herd? Still quite sane, but what about Shane? Took himself back to the drawing board, plotting for those he abhorred
Mitzy and Arin were playing some kind of laser game at a carnival stand, both of them having ice cream cones, with Shane trying to keep up with them in the game and fire at the aliens in it. Jo came running by down the pier though, and his face filled with malice.
An eye for an eye, a leg for a leg, a vote off the show doesn't go away
Going down from the pier and onto the beach itself, Monica was sitting on a beach chair with binoculars on her eyes, while Lucien was napping on a chair next to her. Jo passed by them both on her run, blatantly pushing Monica off her seat as she passed by.
Everyone has to go, but being booted by a kid stings a long long way
Anne Maria was trying to sunbathe on the beach in her swimsuit when Caleb passed by with a metal detector, getting a scornful look from her.
You wanna be famous? You wanna be famous? You wanna be famous? They go
Brick and Brava were playing volleyball together, although Brava jumped up and spike the ball right at Brick's face. The cadet rubbed his face, but tried to keep a smile albeit pained. The ball bounced towards Petunia, who was startled as it hit her in the back and made her spray them both.
Na na na, nanana na na
The skunk spray transitioned the scene to neon lights above several beach garlands on wooden posts at night. Mickey and Jay were sitting next to each other on folding chairs, already looking nervous before Geoff popped up between them to try and cheer them up. This made the twins run off, with Bridgette letting out a sigh as this happened. The scene then zoomed out to show the rest of the cast sitting in a half circle on folding chairs, all of them humming one last droning note while the title of the season was shown on the center garland.
After the intro, the episode began with a shot of the two huts, with Mickey and Jay being the first ones to step outside this time. "Hey Mickey, are you feeling okay now? I know things got a bit stressful after yesterday." Jay asked his brother worriedly.
Mickey nodded his head, having a smile on his face. "Way better! But that Pink Panda hero, where did they go after the challenge? I didn't really get a chance to thank them for saving me." Mickey replied, sounding rather hopeful.
"Oh them, they just kinda disappeared after the challenge. No one was able to really say anything to them." Jay answered, shrugging his shoulders.
Mickey let out a small sigh, which ended up making him choke briefly. "Agh, well I hope they show up again! I know we sure could use their help again! Plus their outfit was kinda cute." Mickey added, blushing a little.
Jay raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. "I see that blush. What did Mom and Dad say about crushes?" Jay asked Mickey cautiously.
"That they end with you crushed, I know... just maybe at least saying hi to the Pink Panda again would be cool!" Mickey tried to rebut, but Jay just shook his head disapprovingly.
"Don't let it be more than that. I just don't want to see you get your hopes up and have them ruined... and probably get hurt too." Jay advised, then walked ahead of Mickey.
As soon as Jay walked ahead though, Mickey was quickly approached by Anne Maria, who had just left the green hut not long after they did. "Oi, alliance, you and me. Better say yes." Anne Maria right away initiated.
Mickey was a little stunned by this, looking to Jay for help, but he was already way ahead going to get their breakfast ready. "Umm... my brother said that alliances weren't a good idea." Mickey replied, flinching right after speaking.
Anne Maria rolled her eyes, then stepped past him. "Ugh, make your own decisions will ya? But fine, no alliance. Just don't vote for me and I won't vote for you, capiche?" Anne Maria changed her offer a bit.
Mickey nodded his head, having a nervous smile. "Okay! That works! Just don't tell anyone okay? I feel like people would still get mad at this kind of thing..." Mickey agreed, rubbing one arm.
Anne Maria smirked for a breath moment, looking down at him. "Oh believe me, I ain't tellin' no one. Just as long as you don't either. This stays between us." Anne Maria told Mickey, then also walked ahead of him. Mickey sighed with relief as she walked away, although this exhale made him choke and trip forward, falling face first into the sand.
-Confessional: Gallant Gulls: Mickey-
Mickey rubbed one arm nervously, his eyes darting around the confessional. "Why did I agree to that!? I never make decisions without Jay! I can't let him find out about this, he's been saying this ever since we watched the first season together, alliances are made to be broken down the road! But... maybe Anne Maria wants to take me to the finale? I think she knows I'm an easy opponent. But if it means I'm safe... yay?"
-End Confessional-
Over by the red hut, Mitzy and Arin were waiting outside when Mike stepped out, both smiling at him. "Huh? Were you two waiting to see me?" Mike asked them, confused to see them eagerly waiting.
"Well, how does it feel?" Arin questioned Mike cheerfully.
Mike scratched the back of his head, raising an eyebrow. "How does what feel?" Mike asked them, still not getting it.
"To have Vanessa gone! We voted for her last night, soooo relieving that she's gone huh?" Mitzy finished Arin's question, showing Mike a drawing of Vanessa on her sketchpad, albeit with Vanessa having devil horns and a thundercloud over her.
Mike stared at the drawing with a blank look, before shrugging his shoulders. "I mean I guess so? Can we just move on from it? Don't really want this being all I'm known for okay? Heheh..." Mike awkwardly chuckled.
Before the two girls could respond though, Monica stepped out of the red hut, then wrapped her arms around Mike in a tight hug. "WOOO! Vanessa is gone! Good riddance am I right?" Monica exclaimed.
Mike didn't respond though, completely frozen now. He had let out a gasp, but nothing had followed. "Mike? Uhh... are you there?" Mitzy asked him worriedly.
"I think he had a heart attack! Stand aside citizens, I've got this!" Arin declared, prompting Monica to let go of Mike so Arin could lay him down and pump his chest.
"Wake up Mike! Miiiiiike!" Monica called, hoping saying his name would snap him out of it.
Inside of Mike's head, Chester, Manitoba, and Ludwig were playing a game of cards with each other when they heard Mike yelling from above them. "What in the... what's that whippersnapper got himself into now?" Chester asked the others, shaking his fist upwards.
Mike soon came plummeting down though, landing on the brain tissue flooring of his mind. "Oh, thou hast found thyself in our abode..." Ludwig commented, seeing Mike hit the floor.
Mike soon stood up, rubbing his head. "Ow... which one of you tried to take over this time? Chester? Do you have a problem with all the girls talking to me like that?" Mike asked, trying to figure out what happened.
Manitoba chuckled, tipping his fedora to Mike. "Heh, that sounds like somethin' Vito would want to take over and get involved in. All the girls you said? That just sounds like his kind of thing." Manitoba remarked.
"Yeah, but Vito is still checking himself out over there. So who's trying to take over?" Mike asked, pointing to Vito off in the distance flexing his muscles and kissing them.
"Me. For your own good." Mal spoke up, appearing out of thin air right behind Mike.
Mike turned around, gasping when he saw Mal. "You! I thought I- we got rid of you!" Mike let out, both surprised and scared to see him.
"You may have. But the malice in you after that girl Vanessa dumped you? It was almost enough, but that second rejection was just enough hatred for me to come back. Now, every time you hear her name you can't help but be reminded of it all. Your own feelings brought me back, so thank you." Mal explained, smirking at Mike.
"Wait... were you why she left last night? I didn't coordinate anything..." Mike asked Mal, trying to piece this together.
Mal nodded his head, putting his hands on his hips. "Ah, so now you realize it. I threw the challenge since it was a prime opportunity to get rid of her. You didn't want to see her anymore, so I handled it. My methods aren't pleasant, but I care about you just as much as the rest of these chumps do. I can win us this season. Free you of all your problems this game has caused. Whatever you wish." Mal elaborated, confusing Mike further.
"But... why? You got me in juvie, now you care? None of this makes sense... how would you even make us win?" Mike further questioned Mal.
Mal laughed briefly, then pulled a picture frame out of his pocket and tossed it to Mike. It was a photo of Dawn, framed as though it was a passport photo. "She paid me a visit right before you left last season. Something about you going against her and me being released because of it. Turns out she was right about me being released, but we had a little talk about what I could do going forward. This is our body, I can't deny that. So why try and mess things up now? Just let me put in my own work. It won't be pretty, but I can win us the season." Mal reasoned as Mike's expression sank when he saw the photo.
"Mal... thank you for getting Vanessa out of the game, but I really don't need your help now. That problem is done. I can do this on my own, don't worry about me." Mike rejected Mal's proposal.
"I wasn't asking." Mal responded, then held out his palm and made a cage shoot out of it, trapping Mike inside.
Mike didn't have any time to react, so he quickly found himself stuck, and Mal quickly trapped the other personalities before they could do anything either. "I'll call you when I need you guys in control. We're winning this season for Mike, but I'm calling the shots. These people hurt him, so they deserve no mercy. If Mike can't follow through with it, then I will. Not until they've suffered as much as he has will we be done." Mal told the other personalities, before vanishing into thin air.
"No wait! Mal! You can't just leave like that!" Mike shouted, but it was too late. Mal was already gone.
"MALLLLLL!" Mike continued to shout, gripping the bars of the brain cage he was in, still to no avail.
Mal gasped once more, with his hair falling down and covering his eye. "Mike? Are you back? You kinda blacked out there!" Arin asked him worriedly, sitting and looking down at him.
Mal blinked a couple times, now seeing where he was. He was laying on the sand now, from which he sat back up and pushed his hair up normally. "Yeah, I'm back! I think I'm just a bit... tired after last night. Maybe we can do better and win this challenge so we don't have to lose anyone." Mal spoke in a cheery tone now, briefly chuckling.
Mitzy nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it is kinda stressful having such smaller teams compared to last season. It's a thing I noticed when using a smaller cast for an arc in my comics. When it's just Kat Kradle and her closest comrades, anyone being taken out has a lot more oomph to it y'know? So yeah! We'll do our best, right Monica?" Mitzy made her comparison, then looked over at Monica who was helping Mal back to his feet.
"Yup! If Mike says so, then I say so!" Monica agreed, hugging Mal tightly once more, making him have to hide his scowl at this gesture.
-Confessional: Oddball Octopi: Monica-
Monica had a gleeful smile on her face, hugging herself giddily. "I'm really happy that Vanessa is just gone. I have Mike allllll to myself! The best part? No one is stopping me! I guess after seeing how Vanessa was, they realized that I was in the right! Mike and I were meant to be!"
-End Confessional-
Over at the stone tables, both teams were now having their breakfast. Lucien was the last one to show up, just lazily filling his bowl with cereal but no milk. "You seriously not even going to add milk to that? No wonder you've got noodle arms, you're missing out on the calcium." Jo criticized Lucien, having also gotten cereal but properly.
"Since when did you care about science? Just let me eat, thanks..." Lucien blew off her criticism and just casually ate.
"When it's actual helpful science, like how to make me even stronger, then yeah I'll care. Not the space crap you preach, I'm never going to space so why should I care? Waste of time if you ask me." Jo retorted, pointing her spoon at him for a second.
"I didn't ask you." Lucien shot back, then got up from his seat and walked away from Jo, heading elsewhere. Jo watched him leave, then just shrugged and kept eating her cereal.
At the other table, Zoey was the last on her team to get her breakfast, and when choosing somewhere to sit, she opted to sit with Brick this time, who was currently chatting with Brava. "Wow, those are some pretty good stealth techniques! The sarge back home would be most impressed!" Brick praised Brava, who didn't show any kind of actual reaction to the praise.
"It's just a wardrobe thing. The rattling of guns military men carry would already give you away easily. I should know." Brava downplayed it, which made Brick laugh for a moment.
"Hey those aren't just for show! They're an important part to the military and sometimes brute force just gets it done! And what better way to help the infantry do that then with a proper arsenal!" Brick argued, motioning as if he had a gun on his back.
"Now you sound a bit like my brother there." Brava commented, still keeping a stone cold face.
Zoey looked between the two of them, giggling awkwardly. "What are you two talking about? Can I join in? Please?" Zoey asked them meekly.
"Just a chat about our experiences in training and duty! You ever think about joining the military?" Brick explained, patting Zoey on the shoulder.
Zoey shook her head, rubbing her arm. "Not really, it just doesn't seem like that'd suit me? I don't really know what I want to do." Zoey asked back.
"Just make sure you plan your career as soon as you can. You'll regret it otherwise." Brava advised her seriously.
Brick nodded his head in agreement with her. "Sound advice, my folks served our country, so I'll be doing the same. I mean, if it doesn't work out, I was hoping to get into fashion design. But I'll only have the money to do that if I win." Brick chuckled afterward, rubbing the back of his head.
"Fashion school?" Zoey repeated, not expecting that from him.
"Forget I said anything." Brick quickly replied, then got up from the table and went to get more food.
Brick passed by Shane as he went to go get his food, who just acknowledged the cadet with a polite wave. He was currently just watching Zoey and Brava talk, furrowing his brow slightly. "Now what is she up to..." Shane muttered to himself as he ate his cereal and watched.
Anne Maria cut off his thoughts though as she sat down across from him, holding a donut and a cup of coffee. "Yo, what you starin' at? The challenge ain't even started and you're already plannin'?" Anne Maria asked him, then took a big bite of her donut.
Shane rolled his eyes and looked at Anne Maria now, annoyed to not be able to watch Zoey. "Just seeing what Brava was saying to Zoey. She's a sketchy person, don't trust her one bit." Shane replied.
Anne Maria looked at the pair chatting for a brief moment, then shrugged. "Eh, just two bozos chattin', ain't more than that from the looks of it." Anne Maria guessed, dismissing Shane's concern.
"Yeah, that's just what it looks like. We didn't think Dawn was plotting the whole time last season either. It's good to be careful with your strategy this season, which is what I'm doing." Shane stated, still suspicious.
Anne Maria took a sip of her coffee, letting out a pleased sigh afterward. "Oh yeah, that's the stuff! Almost as good as the coffee Felix made last season, dunno where that guy worked, but he makes a mean cup a joe!" Anne Maria commented, not even responding to what Shane had said.
"Are you even listening to what I'm saying? Brava could be up to something. She could be forming an alliance with Zoey, and then they'll take one of us out. Maybe even you." Shane warned Anne Maria, a little more fired up.
Anne Maria set her coffee down, giggling for a moment. "Oh I hear ya. So why don't we form one then. Just me and you, and we tell no one else about it." Anne Maria proposed.
Shane's eyes lit up with this offer, right away nodding and holding a hand out to shake. "Deal. Who do we clock out first then? Brava?" Shane asked her, a bit more eager than before.
Anne Maria didn't shake his hand though, instead just taking another bite of her donut. "Nuh uh, none of this votin' talk. I ain't stoopin' to that level. I don't vote for you and you don't vote for me, sound good? Good." Anne Maria told him, with Shane only looking slightly disappointed.
Shane just got up after that, now opting to sit with the twins instead. "Hey, how are you two holding up?" Shane greeted them, sitting down next to Mickey and across from Jay.
"Fine? Yesterday was scary so today is going better!" Mickey replied cheerfully, while Jay just gave Shane a skeptical look.
"How come you want to sit with us?" Jay asked Shane cautiously.
Shane played off the caution though, just having a friendly smile. "I saw what happened yesterday, I figured you could use some extra company. But I was thinking of asking if you needed some protection in the votes going forward. I think if we worked together we could-"
"No! Leave us alone. My brother and I aren't interested in alliances." Jay cut Shane off, sounding as firm as he could.
"Okay okay, it was just a friendly offer. Sorry if it came off formal. I'll leave you alone as you asked." Shane obliged, not putting up a fight with them. Jay didn't get any less suspicious of him after he left though.
-Confessional: Gallant Gulls: Shane-
Shane had his arms crossed, letting out a small sigh. "Would it have been nice to have Anne Maria under my thumb in the vote? Yes. But this arrangement is honestly more than I was expecting to get with her. She's so stubborn and conceited, I figured I'd just have to boot her before she becomes a problem. But now she's no longer a threat to me, and just one extra vote not going my way will really help down the line. I think I have a pretty solid hold on this team now... Jay and Brick have their morals in the way, but they aren't threats to me."
-Confessional: Gallant Gulls: Jay-
Jay pointed a thumb at himself, having a determined look. "No one is taking advantage of Mickey. I know exactly what Shane is doing here! He wants to try and be our 'friend', just because he knows we're weaklings. I'm not going to deny we're weak, but it's even more weak to try and take advantage of that! Shame on Shane."
-End Confessionals-
Instead of the hosts arriving at the tables to greet the contestants, this time, Ted and Flaky showed up, neither too ecstatic to be here. "H-Hi everyone..." Flaky greeted them, standing behind Ted.
"Where's the hosts? Couldn't be bothered to show up this time?" Jo asked, turning around in her seat and looking at the interns.
"No. The challenge is just somewhere else. The bus is already here. So just hop on." Ted instructed, pointing to the sidewalk where Brody was sitting in the driver's seat of a bus.
"Shyeah dudes! We're like, going to this like, crazy ballroom dudes! It's killer! Hop in!" Brody called to the teams.
Monica got an eager smile, then looked to Mike. "Ooh a ballroom! How romantic! And Svetlana would do just great there wouldn't she?" Monica asked Mike, who nodded in agreement with her.
"Yup! I just have to find her during the challenge, then we're good!" Mike agreed with her, laughing a little afterward.
Zoey raised an eyebrow at this, but still smiled. "He got happy fast. Last time I talked him, he looked like he was depressed. Good for him." Zoey commented.
"SOLDIERS! It's time to board the bus! Everyone will sit alphabetically in their assigned sitting!" Brick ordered, giving his team a quick salute.
"Just get on the bus, don't care where you sit as long as none of you try to sit next to me." Jo ordered her team, then jogged over to the bus.
The 13 players walked over to the bus and got in, taking their seats. Since Jo had jogged in first, she took shotgun, while everyone else just sat down with their friends except for Brava, Anne Maria, and Lucien, who sat alone, with the last one taking a nap on the very back seat.
The bus soon arrived at their destination, a grand white chapel just a few feet away from the water, sitting over a cliff. "Woah, where did they get the budget to book this place?" Mitzy asked as she stepped off the bus, right away flipping to a new page in her sketchbook and drawing the exterior.
Brody stepped off the bus once everyone else was out, having his hands on his hips as he looked up at the chapel. "Geoff and I know a dude from school who knows a dude whose dad owns this place! So we got it for the day for basically nothing. Pretty sick right?" Brody answered, holding a fist to bump, which Mitzy returned.
Mickey was quivering as he saw the chapel, his eyes widened in fear. "Oh what's his problem now?" Monica asked, seeing the poor boy shaking.
Jay went to comfort his brother, putting his hands on his shoulders. "It was at our uncle's wedding. The ringing of the bells made his eardrums bleed, and the dizziness from the noise made him trip and fall into the wedding cake. It was so embarrassing, he's been afraid of chapels ever since." Jay explained, with Mickey having his hands on his ears.
"I can still hear the ringing just looking at it!" Mickey cried out, closing his eyes.
Geoff and Bridgette stepped out of the chapel after that, waving to everyone. "Hello everyone! This is Whispering Oaks Chapel! The most popular dance spot and place to get married around here! Mostly because of the view of the beach here on a cliff like this." Bridgette introduced the chapel to the cast.
Geoff and Brody shared a fist bump after the surfer walked over to the hosts, both of them laughing a little. "Yeah, Kyle's dad owns this place, so we were able to get the whole thing rented out for the day. Pretty sick spot huh?" Geoff confirmed what Brody had said.
"A whole chapel to ourselves? How romantic, hopefully there's a dance challenge, we'd do great~" Monica flirted with Mike, who just took a couple steps away as she did this.
"Pff, these are just overpriced churches disguised as party places. Who wants to hang out here?" Jo remarked, not impressed by the chapel.
"Well it's supposed to be fancy, maybe it's just not for you?" Zoey tried to reason, although this didn't bode well with Jo.
Jo gave her a sharp look, clenching her fists. "Now what's THAT supposed to mean!?" Jo snapped at her.
"Nothing! Sorry! I'm so sorry!" Zoey quickly apologized, putting her hands up in defense.
"Let's just head inside everyone, we have a challenge for you all!" Bridgette interjected, cutting off the anger and prompting everyone to walk inside.
-Confessional: Gallant Gulls: Zoey-
Zoey looked distraught, having both hands on her head. "Great, now Jo hates me! I just meant that like, fancy stuff isn't her style. She never really seemed to be into it anyway. With her being a jock and all that, none of the jocks back home were all that into fancy things either. The fanciest place in town was probably the local diner on a Sunday, since fancy places just didn't do well there. But Jo wouldn't get that, she took it horribly! I have to fix things with her if we're going to be friends!"
-End Confessional-
Inside the chapel, the hosts and cast entered a large room, decorated as if a wedding was about to take place here. "What's with the set up? Was there supposed to be a wedding today?" Jay asked curiously, guiding Mickey by the hand since he still had his eyes closed.
Bridgette shook her head, leading the teams over to two ice sculptures of angels with bouquets frozen inside. "They just always prepare this place in advance. But for part 1 of today's challenge, you'll be freeing your bouquets here from these ice sculptures! The first team to get their bouquet out gets an advantage in part 2!" Bridgette explained, while the players looked over the sculptures.
Both angels were 8 feet tall and placed on the ground, posed to be playing harps. The bouquet was in their chests, very firmly encased in the ice. "Mission understood, but this seems a bit simple, brute force should break these right?" Brick commented, not too worried.
Geoff got a smirk, crossing his arms. "Oh it's not that simple dude, but you're welcome to try! Anyway, you dudes can start!" Geoff replied, starting the challenge.
Brick right away tried to use brute force, slamming his fist into the waist of the sculpture. He bit his lip right after, wincing in pain as he didn't so much as crack the sculpture. "Does it hurt?" Zoey asked worriedly.
"What does it look like Red? He ain't not hurting." Anne Maria pointed out sarcastically as Brick clutched his hand and whimpered in pain as he stepped away from the statue.
"So brute force is off the table. Hmm. This shall be interesting." Brava stated, tapping a finger on her chin.
Jo laughed as she watched Brick hurt his fist, then looked to her own team. "Man, that was stupid. He literally said it wasn't that simple. Guess his head is as dense as his name!" Jo remarked.
"You probably would have done that if he hadn't." Mike pointed out, with Monica nodding in agreement and giggling.
"Good one Mike, you got her real nice!" Monica cheered him on.
Jo looked annoyed, but she tried to not show it. "Whatever. So, nerds, how do we melt this thing?" Jo asked the others for ideas.
"Wow, would have been helpful if we had the mega nerd. But no, we voted him out since he was useless apparently." Mike sarcastically replied, again with Monica hyping him up.
"What is with you? Don't even start with that, none of us liked that twerp! Anyone else gonna whine or do any of you have actual ideas?" Jo responded to Mike with exasperation, then moved on from him.
Mitzy raised her hand, flipping to a page in her sketchbook. "Ooh! I have one! What if we get something sharp and pick at it together?" Mitzy suggested, showing a drawing of a character freeing a gem by using a fork.
"Weddings have utensils, so there's got to be some knives and forks around here! Maybe there's a buffet we can check!" Arin added, looking around.
Lucien just walked over to Geoff, giving a lazy wave. "Hey. Is there a buffet set up in the chapel?" Lucien asked, then let out a yawn.
"Down the hall and to the left bro! Snacking during the challenge?" Geoff answered, chuckling lightly.
"No, just need forks I guess." Lucien replied, then pointed to the way to the buffet, which was just into a hall at the other side of this big room.
Mitzy gave Lucien a thumbs up, then looked to Jo. "We'll be right back!" Mitzy told her, then ran to the hall with Arin and Lucien, leaving the other 3 with the sculpture.
Jo watched them leaving, then groaned when she saw Mike and Monica were staying. "You two are a couple now? After everything you said last night? Wow, for a second I thought you improved yourself. Thought all romance would leave you smoking out the window at this point." Jo quipped.
"Well with Vanessa gone, we're free to be happy together! Isn't it just wonderful Mike?" Monica told Jo, then hugged Mike's arm.
Mike nodded, patting her head with his other hand. "Yeah, just wonderful." Mike agreed with her.
-Confessional: Oddball Octopi: Jo-
Jo shook her head, leaning against the confessional wall. "I don't buy it. Did Mike wise up and learn some strategy? Might actually have to go for him next. Vanessa was onto something before she tried to double cross me. Now that I helped Mike get her out, I don't have to feel b- I can just get rid of him. He's just acting really weird, it's throwing me off. He was a depressed sap sack yesterday, what changed? Did he get a personality that could actually take being dumped?"
-End Confessional-
The Gulls were still trying to come up with a way to free their bouquet quickly, with Brick now recovered from his failed punch. "Umm, maybe we could like, drop it and let it smash to pieces? We can't just sit here and wait for it to melt." Zoey suggested.
"Brute force." Brava replied sharply.
"Oh... right. I guess that's still trying brute force." Zoey now recinded her suggestion, looking down in shame.
Shane shook his head though, scratching his chin as he continued to think. "I don't think so. This sculpture can only be so tough. Maybe if we dropped it from the altar over there, that'd be enough for it to smash open. The heavier something is, the faster it'll fall." Shane argued, pointing to the altar in the room.
Brick liked the idea, giving Shane a thumbs up. "Good thinking. Alright everyone! Grab hold and we'll carry it to the altar to drop it!" Brick ordered, crouching down and slipping both hands underneath the statue.
Brava, Zoey, Shane, and Jay all hurried over to the statue and joined him, gripping the bottom of the statue and lifting up. "Are you going to help out at all? This thing is pretty heavy, any extra hands help!" Brick asked Anne Maria as the five of them struggled to carry it.
Anne Maria was currently applying a coat of hair spray though, and right away shook her head at the question. "Have you seen these nails? I ain't chipping them over some stupid idea. Have the other wimp help out, I already did my work in the last challenges." Anne Maria retorted.
Mickey still had his eyes shut, also shaking his head. "I c-can't! I might faint if I see what this place looks like! I'm scared!" Mickey cried out.
"Just follow my voice Mickey! Grab the icy surface, and just walk with us. You can do it!" Jay encouraged his brother.
Mickey walked over to the five with his eyes closed and stood next to Jay, then got his hands beneath the statue as well and walked with them. "Did not expect that to work, impressive." Brava commented, a little surprised.
-Confessional: Gallant Gulls: Mickey-
Mickey had a small proud smile, showing his tooth gapped grin. "Jay and I are actually pretty in tune with each other. Just a twin thing. We already rely on each other a lot for safety, so being able to pinpoint where Jay is even if I can't see him is just another thing we can do!"
-End Confessional-
In the dining hall where the buffet table was, Oliver was making everything nice and organized when Lucien, Mitzy, and Arin ran in. "I need six sets of silverware stat!" Arin shouted, startling Oliver.
"What? I thought you guys were still doing the ice challenge!" Oliver let out, fixing his glasses after jumping a little.
"We are. They just need forks and stuff to pick the ice. Their idea not mine." Lucien told Oliver calmly.
Mitzy's eyes darted across the table, before she eventually found the silverware. "Aha! Found them! 6 forks, and 6 knives, that'll do it!" Mitzy declared, grabbing the six forks while Arin grabbed the six knives.
The two nerds then sprinted out of the dining hall, while Lucien stayed behind. "They're really into the challenge. That's nice to see. When Chris was in charge, the only time they got into it was with the lightsaber challenge." Oliver said to Lucien with a smile.
"Wouldn't know, wasn't there." Lucien replied, shrugging his shoulders.
"Oh, right, sorry. Shouldn't you head back with them?" Oliver apologized, rubbing the back of his head.
Lucien shrugged again, and then looked over the buffet table. "Got any salt shakers or packets?" he asked Oliver.
Back in the main room, Arin and Mitzy regrouped with the Octopi while the Gulls now had their statue placed on the altar stand. "Think this'll be high enough to break it?" Jay asked the others as they set it down.
"I hope so... we don't have much time I think." Zoey replied worriedly, pointing to the Octopi.
"Here everyone! Start picking!" Mitzy called to the other three, then handed them all forks and knives with Arin.
Jo looked at the utensils in her hands, then at Mitzy with doubt. "So your grand solution is plastic utensils?" Jo asked sarcastically.
"Better than punching it. Just get picking." Monica told Jo coldly, then began to stab the ice sculpture with her knife.
When Mike tried to stab his fork into the statue, it broke instantly, much to Mitzy's dismay. "At least the knife isn't breaking?" Arin pointed out optimistically.
Jo just gave her a deadpan look, then tried to stab her knife into the statue. It bent, and when Jo tried again, the sharp end just snapped in half. "The plastic is as dependable here as it is for gym equipment. I.e., bargain bin trash." Jo now insulted the solution.
"Umm... we'll just slowly chip at it, we can do this!" Mitzy nervously cheered them on, just getting a scornful look from Jo as she, Arin, and Monica just poked the statue and made no actual progress.
With the Gulls, everyone except Anne Maria now stood behind the statue. "On my mark, we push it! One, two, three!" Brick commanded, then pushed the ice angel forward.
The six of them easily pushed the statue, and it hit the ground with a loud thud, along with a serious crack about a foot long forming. "It didn't break, but it's progress!" Zoey exclaimed, delighted to see the crack.
"Let's get it back up there and push it again! It'll break if we keep doing this!" Shane ordered, with the six of them hurrying to pick it back up.
-Confessional: Oddball Octopi: Mitzy-
Mitzy looked a little worried, sketching in her book. "Okay, so it's not looking the best for us. But on the bright side, if we lose again, I don't think they'd go for Arin or me? Unless Jo gets really mad at me for this idea. She wouldn't be that petty would she?"
-End Confessional-
While the Gulls got ready to drop their statue again, Lucien walked back into the room with several salt shakers, catching the attention of the Octopi. "Oh what now? Are we gonna escargot the statue and make it hand the bouquet over?" Jo asked demeaningly.
Lucien ignored her and just began to cover the statue in salt, then got a small grin as he watched the statue begin to drip water rapidly after he covered it enough. "Freezing point depression. Salt dissolves the outer film of ice, the slippery part. It turns to water, the salt remains, and the cycle continues. Basic science." Lucien explained.
"You sound kinda like Cameron right now, where'd you learn all this?" Monica asked him, impressed as she watched their statue melt.
"Oh gee almost like we're friends or something, I learned it in high school chemistry, you should also know this if you actually paid attention. I napped all the time and even I knew this. Again, you wouldn't know since you booted me instantly." Lucien elaborated bitterly.
Jo snorted. "Someone's salty." she joked, smirking at Lucien.
...
...
...
"Please shut up." Lucien told her, then began to spread more salt over the statue.
Another loud thud was heard, with the Gulls pushing the statue from the altar once more. The crack now expanded into multiple cracks, going further into the statue. "It's working! Let's get it back up there again!" Zoey exclaimed, clapping her hands when she saw the cracks going further.
"I'm afraid we won't have the time for that." Brick told her, pointing to the Octopi.
Their ice statue was already reduced to half its initial size, and Lucien was soon able to reach in and grab the bouquet with ease. "And the Octopi win part 1!" Bridgette announced, with Mitzy and Arin applauding Lucien while Jo reluctantly clapped.
-Confessional: Oddball Octopi: Lucien-
Lucien rubbed one of his eyes, still having a small grin. "Eh, I don't think the applause is needed. It's more than enough knowing they regret sending me home first last season. And team politics aside, I again show I'm useful to the team. So that excuse is gone. As long as I don't get myself caught in the alliances and drama and keep helping in challenges like this, I can just cruise to the merge."
-End Confessional-
Now at the back of the chapel, the two teams were gathered at the cliffside balcony of the chapel, overlooking the beach. "It's a killer view isn't it? We so gotta throw a wicked party here once the season's over, cuz this place rocks!" Geoff commented as he looked over the railing and at the beach. They were about 7 stories above the beach, so it was easy to take the whole shoreline in with one glance.
After admiring the view, the hosts faced the contestants. "Now for part two of your challenge, you'll be doing ballroom dances together! It's the most common activity here at this gorgeous chapel, so now you'll have the chance to do that as well!" Bridgette stated what the challenge was.
Monica's eyes lit up at this, followed by her hugging Mike. "A romantic dance at a chapel, now doesn't that just sound like something we win?" Monica asked him enthusiastically.
Mike grinned widely and nodded his head. "Sure does! Hey Bridgette, we'll dance for our team!" Mike volunteered, raising his hand.
"Wait, we're not gonna discuss this?" Mitzy brought up, also raising a hand.
Jo shrugged her shoulders. "It's a ballroom dance challenge, just let the actual couple handle this. Not like you and me would be able to pull off some lesbo disco feat." Jo replied, perfectly fine with them volunteering.
"Okay, you make a good point." Mitzy conceded, while Arin giggled slightly as she imagined it.
Bridgette nodded at Mike and Monica, then looked to the Gulls. "So the Octopi have their dancers, who are you guys picking?" Bridgette asked them.
Jay raised his hand, looking to the others. "Maybe Mickey and I can do it? We're pretty in sync with each other, so we could do something." Jay suggested.
Mickey shook his head though. "Remember the last time you danced? You hit the griddy and-"
"Okay nevermind. I don't think we can do it." Jay cut him off, blushing in embarrassment.
Brick stepped forward, having his hand on his heart. "I can do this task. I took a semester of dance in high school, I can do some moves!" Brick volunteered confidently.
Anne Maria snickered, but didn't call him out. "Okay, that's one person, now who dances with Brick?" Shane asked, looking mainly at Brava and Zoey.
The two ladies exchanged a look, before Zoey raised her hand. "I can do it? I mean, I'm not great, but I can try." Zoey volunteered meekly.
Brick smiled when Zoey volunteered, giving her a salute. "That's the spirit. We'll do just fine." Brick told her firmly.
With both duos now chosen, Oliver and Irene brought out a large white tarp and laid it down on the balcony. "You'll dance on the tarp here, and whichever team gets a better score from Bridge and I wins the challenge and safety for the night! Sounds fun enough yeah?" Geoff explained the simple rules of the challenge.
"Wait, what's our advantage then? It better not be something lame like one extra point!" Jo questioned them aggressively, grabbing the bouquet from Lucien.
"Oh, your score will be double whatever you actually score, and you get to go second! It's a pretty big advantage actually! So sit back and watch the Gulls go first!" Bridgette answered, which lifted up the mood for the Octopi greatly.
"So a free win? Great, that means I can nap through the whole thing." Lucien commented, then laid down on the wood paneling of the balcony and closed his eyes.
-Confessional: Gallant Gulls: Brick-
Brick had his hands on his hips, having a confident smile. "Double the score? That is a steep goal to meet, but I believe in Zoey. That's what a good leader does, have full faith in your fellow teammates! Doubting them is the first step to making yourself lose!"
-End Confessional-
Everyone besides Brick, Zoey, and Lucien sat down at the white clothed dinner tables on the balcony, albeit with no food on them. Irene had a boombox with her, and when she pressed the play button on it, classical music filled with lush violins and piano chords began. "Brick and Zoey, you may begin." Bridgette gave them the go ahead, sitting the closest to watch with Geoff.
Brick and Zoey grabbed hands as they stepped onto the tarp, with Zoey blushing while Brick kept a straight face. "Just follow my lead and try to copy my moves. I have a routine for this kind of music." Brick told Zoey, who nodded in obedience.
The two of them walked hand in hand with their feet in time to the music, while everyone else just watched closely. When what sounded like a chorus came in, Brick spun Zoey around, doing a little dainty spin himself as well.
Anne Maria again failed to fully contain her laughter, as did Jo, with both of them snickering at Brick's performance. Monica just shook her head disapprovingly as she watched.
When they locked hands again, they crossed the tarp in time with the music, each of their steps in sync with each other. When they reached the other side, Brick spun Zoey again, albeit with more force this time so she would repeatedly spin. "Woah!" Zoey let out, not expecting that much force.
Brick clapped his hands twice with the music, then grabbed Zoey to continue the dance and go for a dip, but he missed and grabbed her arms instead of her hands. So when he tried to shift her to the side for the dip, he threw both of them off balance and fell over. Brick faceplanted on the tarp while Zoey fell on her back. "Oww... was that part of it?" Zoey asked Brick.
"No..." Brick muttered, just remaining on the floor for a bit while the music continued to awkwardly play.
Irene soon caught on that the dance had been cut short and wasn't going to be resuming, so she turned off the boombox. "Oops..." Irene let out sheepishly.
"Well, that was... something. You can try again if you want?" Bridgette offered out of pity.
Zoey shook her head, sitting down by herself at one of the tables. "It's okay, that was probably the best we could do..." Zoey admitted in a defeated tone.
Brick got up from the tarp and also hung his head in shame, sitting down next to Zoey. "There's always next time. And maybe they'll do worse than us." Brick tried to console Zoey, who just hugged her legs and said nothing back.
-Confessional: Oddball Octopi: Monica-
Monica laughed for a moment, having her arms crossed. "Wow, that was bad. Like really bad. Of course, Mike and I have better synergy than they could ever hope to have. So just watch, we'll make quite the impact on the dancefloor!"
-End Confessional-
Mike and Monica stepped onto the tarp next, both of them having big smiles. "Alright dudes, you can get dancing!" Geoff gave them the go ahead, and Irene started the music back up.
The two held hands for a few seconds, taking in the lush music before they began to dance. Their dance was slower pace, taking simultaneous steps before going into various moves. Mike lifted Monica up to bring her to the other side of him, before spinning himself.
Their dance moves overall just seemed more coordinated, with Mike able to spin Monica in a pirouette and actually catch her in the dip. When the two of them dipped down, Monica winked at Zoey specifically, making the redhead hide her face in her legs.
"Showoffs..." Anne Maria muttered, still spraying herself with her fake tan spray. Mickey was the one suffering from it this time, covering his mouth and coughing as he breathed in the fumes.
With their hands together, Mike and Monica were able to sway back and forth, waving their linked arms to the rhythm of the song. They continued to walk in sync as they did this, Monica looking into Mike's eyes adoringly as they did so.
When they turned to go across the tarp, Mike stuck his foot out to pivot himself for a slide, although Monica ended up tripping over it. As soon as this happened, Mike let go of Monica, which also let her fall right over the railing of the balcony. "MIIIIIIiiiiiiiike!" Monica screamed as she plummeted, with the hosts rushing over to look over the balcony out of shock.
By the time they made it though, Monica had quickly fell all 80 feet down to the beach below, hitting the rocky side of the mountain a couple times on the way down. "Oh my god... Irene, call an ambulance!" Bridgette shouted, horrified by what she just saw.
Mike looked petrified as well, stepping away from the balcony. "I... Monica..." Mike let out, unable to make an actual sentence.
Cutting ahead, back outside the chapel on the street, an ambulance had now arrived on the scene and Monica was currently on a stretcher. "Monica? How are you feeling?" Zoey asked concerningly, being the first person to rush over.
When she got over though, Monica didn't even respond, her eyes currently closed. "That was a 7 story fall, she's going to be out of commission for quite some time." the doctor told Zoey, making her and Bridgette gasp.
"Out of commission? Does that mean she won't be able to continue competing?" Mike asked curiously.
"That goes without saying. By the time she wakes up, whatever you kids are doing will probably be over." the doctor answered.
Bridgette and Geoff shared a guilty look as Monica was carried into the ambulance on the stretcher, before the doctors also climbed in the back with her. "I'll go to the hospital with her, you handled the elimination ceremony okay?" Bridgette told Geoff, who right away nodded.
"Wait, elimination ceremony? We still have to vote someone off!? After what just happened!?" Arin let out, shocked by this news.
Bridgette shook her head. "No, with how smooth the performance was at first and your advantage, the Octopi easily won the challenge. The Gulls will be sending someone home, both since they lost and because you lost a member unfairly." Bridgette explained, now shocking the Gulls.
"Oh seriously? And I thought this couldn't get any worse." Jay said, letting out a sigh.
Shane walked up to Zoey after hearing this news, putting a hand on her shoulder. "I know this stinks, but we need to talk about who to vote for." Shane told Zoey, who took a small pause before nodding.
Bridgette climbed into the back of the ambulance, and it then sped off to the nearest hospital, leaving Geoff with the contestants. "The bus back to the beach should be here any minute now dudes. When we get back, the Gulls can vote and we'll get the ceremony over with tonight. I know this whole thing is a big bummer so we'll make it quick." Geoff explained to the teams, where an awkward and gloomy air just resided among them.
-Confessional: Gallant Gulls: Anne Maria-
Anne Maria happily sprayed herself with the spray tan, not having a care in the world. "Monica had it coming, that's all I'll say. Red told me who she and her alliance man are votin' for, so I've got my pick. Got to spend the whole day rebeautifying after the rain yesterday messed up my tan, so I ain't gonna slack off like I did today. What? A girl's gotta have a day off for self-improvement!"
-Confessional: Oddball Octopi: Mike-
Mal now had his hair back down over one eye, rubbing his hands together. "So there goes Monica, and no one suspected a thing. Mike was so close to her, they would never think he'd do that on purpose! Now they'll pity him, right back in the position to coast through the game. It'd be easy enough to do that, but little do they know I'm not done yet. Oh yes, we're just getting started..."
-End Confessional-
Later that night, the seven members of the Gallant Gulls were gathered at the elimination ceremony area on the beach, with the neon green lights shining down on them from the garlands. In the front row sat Brava, Zoey, and Brick in the folding chairs, while in the back row sat Mickey, Jay, Anne Maria, and Shane. Geoff now stood alone in front of the firepit, carrying the ballot box with one hand and pulling the cooler with the other.
"Sorry it came to this dudes, but even if that accident didn't happen, you dudes still would've lost." Geoff apologized to them as he opened the ballot box and read the votes.
"Doesn't mean we have to be happy about this either." Shane retorted, having an annoyed look with his arms crossed.
Geoff opened up the cooler, pulling out the first soda can of safety. "If you get a can of safety, you can head to your hut for the night, otherwise the Bus of Losers is already here for you dudes. " Geoff skimmed over the introduction, with the bus in question pulling up to the curb.
Geoff looked over the seven Gulls, tossing the first can in his hand. "Soda cans of safety go to..."

"Shane."
Shane nodded and caught his soda can, pleased to be safe first.

"Brava."
Brava also fully expected to be safe, barely lifting an arm to catch her soda can.

"Anne Maria."
Anne Maria caught her soda can and cracked it open right away, having a smug look on her face as she took a good long sip from it.

"Zoey."
Zoey looked shameful still, although she didn't fail to catch her soda can.

"Mickey."
Mickey let out a huge sigh of relief, although when he raised his hand to catch his soda can, it hit his hand and made him yelp in pain.
That now left the bottom 2, both of whom had very uncertain looks. Brick fully expected to be here, having a shameful look on his face and having his arms crossed, while Jay clenched both hands worriedly and held them close to his face. "Sorry dudes, I know both of you had rough days, and that's why you're here too, but only one of you gets to stay." Geoff apologized to them as he grabbed the last soda can.
"If I leave, I fully deserve it, I failed you all today." Brick conceded, fully prepared for either outcome.
Geoff aimlessly tossed the final can for a moment, then looked between the bottom two. "Well, let's get this over with dudes. The final soda can of the night goes to..."

"Brick."
Brick was pleasantly shocked as the last soda can was tossed his way, although he right away saluted the rest of the team after catching it. "Thank you for giving me another chance, I won't let you down!" Brick declared.
Jay on the otherhand was dumbfounded, as was Mickey. "W-What? Why Jay? What did he do wrong!? If anything, I messed up more than him!" Mickey asked in exasperation.
"Not sure, I voted for you." Brava told Mickey bluntly.
Jay let out a sigh and stood up, looking at Mickey with a serious face. "The how or what doesn't matter. We can't really fix what just happened. But listen to me Mickey, I know you can do this without me." Jay told his brother confidently.
"N-No I can't... without you!? No!" Mickey cried out, then suddenly hugged Jay.
Jay pat Mickey on the back, before pulling himself out of the hug. "You can. Just remember, don't make any alliances. I don't care how much someone pretends to be your friend, don't take alliances. It's for your own safety. Good luck." Jay warned Mickey, before walking away to get on the Bus of Losers.
Mickey waved to Jay as he left, with his brother of course returning the wave, but Mickey was just filled with uncertainty now. "At least he's not in the hospital?" Zoey tried to look at the bright side for Mickey.
"That might be better, we get free hospital visits with our insurance and the food is pretty nice... I don't know if I can do this..." Mickey reasoned, hugging himself nervously.
With the ceremony over though, Geoff tossed the ballot box into the cooler and then closed the cooler. "Well that's it dudes! Hopefully you guys bounce back from this. Tomorrow is gonna be a bit awkward for both teams probably. So get some good sleep dudes!" Geoff ended the ceremony, then walked away.
As Geoff walked away though, he soon realized the camera was still on him. "Oh, right, the ending! Well, we lost two players today! Rough for both sides, but both teams will still have to go head to head next time! Will Mickey manage on his own? Will Mike carry on without Monica? Is Lucien gonna be Jo's next rival? Find out these and more next time, on Total... Drama... Malibu!" Geoff finished the episode, with the shot fading out on him wheeling the cooler away.
Teams Remaining:
Gallant Gulls: Brick, Brava, Shane, Zoey, Anne Maria, Mickey
Oddball Octopi: Jo, Mike, Mitzy, Arin, Lucien
Elimination Order:
12th: Jay
13th: Monica
14th: Vanessa
15th: Caleb
16th: Petunia
Author's Note:
Yes, a two for one! 16 people in 13 episodes, it was inevitable. But with Mal loose, I'm not gonna pull an All Stars and have him just moseying around breaking stuff. He means business. It's been four episodes now as well, so it was time for Mickey to loose his safety net and guidance. It was going to be tough to develop either twin without the other one being cut from the game. Thank you to BadLuckAE again for letting me use Monica, she was the perfect first victim of Mal (technically second), but yeah, I had fun with her, but with her self sacrificial attitude regarding boyfriends, she already doomed herself from the start with the all the Mike drama. She did outlast Vanessa this time, so she has that going for her! Anyway, let me know what you thought in the reviews, and I'll see you all next time!
