Portland, Oregon

"So 1994, huh?" Dean asked as he, Stefan, Damon, Alaric, Bonnie and Sam exited the car outside the woods.

"Any particular reason you brought us here?" Bonnie asked.

"This is the place where the supposed massacre happened from the news article you told us about." Sam said as he pulled the newspaper clipping out of his pocket and read the headline. "A community is in a state of shock after four children were murdered, one left for dead, in their Portland home on May 9th."

"Except that we're in the middle of nowhere." Damon said, when Dean looked into the distance to see a man in a trench coat who was dirtied and bearded.

"Dean?" Bonnie called as Dean turned to her before he looked back and stared, only to see that the man was gone. "Everything OK?"

"I thought…" Dean trailed off before sighing as Bonnie realized what he meant.

"What? Was it—"

"I don't know." Dean said.

"The house should be here, except it's not. Maybe it's hidden in plain sight. It's not the first time we've come across this." Sam said before he turned to Bonnie. "You think you can…"

Bonnie looked at him in confusion before she realized what he meant as she waved her hand and they saw the air shift, revealing a house in front of them.

"That's the house from the article." Sam said, checking the photo from the newspaper clipping.

"Yeah." Bonnie nodded, since she had memorized the article.

They approached the porch as Alaric, Dean, Sam and Bonnie entered but Damon stopped at the doorstep, realizing he had to be invited in as Dean and Sam chuckled.

"Well, what do you know? Not all vampire lore is crap." Dean said, amused at Damon's predicament.

"Right now I wish it was." Damon muttered, annoyed by the smug grin Dean was shooting him.

"Dean, come on." Sam called as Dean followed him.

"You think someone lives here?" Bonnie asked.

"At the very least they're keeping an eye on this place, otherwise why ward an abandoned house?" Dean asked and Bonnie nodded as they looked around. "So, it's clear from what you've told us that this Kai was a psychopath. I have to wonder though, why would he try to kill his family and how did he end up in that… pocket dimension or whatever it was?"

"Let's hope this place will give us the answers we need." Bonnie said as Dean looked around. "You're a bit on edge."

"Usually, when I get myself in these situations, there is a ghost haunting places like this ones." Dean said.

"Don't jinx it." Bonnie said but stopped, when she saw a picture hanging on the wall.

"What?" Dean asked when he turned to see the same photo Bonnie was staring at. "Isn't that Alaric's girl?"

"And Kai." Bonnie nodded.

"Jo is Kai's sister?" Damon demanded, once they went out, showing them the photo.

"In the house were also pictures of her as a kid, pictures of her as a teenager, alongside newspaper articles about Jo's medical clamp." Alaric said, showing them the handful of photos and newspaper clippings he had found.

"I didn't know I had guests."

They turned to see a grey-haired man with a beard wearing gardener gloves.

"You've met Kai?" The man asked.

"Met him? Watched him die, watched him come back to life." Damon said, approaching the man.

"Not a friendly meeting." Bonnie said.

"I can imagine. He's my son." The man nodded.

"You're Joshua Parker." Sam realized.

"That's right. Can I help you?" Joshua said.

"Look, we just came here to find out what happened back then and we don't want any trouble, sir." Dean said.

"Why are you interested in Kai?" Joshua demanded.

"Well, we were his unwilling cellmates for a time." Bonnie explained, turning to Damon, shocking Joshua and next thing they knew, Joshua waved his hand, sending Dean, Sam, Stefan and Alaric back before he raised his hand as Damon and Bonnie groaned, clutching their heads.

Dean, Sam, Stefan and Alaric recovered but when they got up, Damon and Bonnie were gone, alongside Joshua and the house.

Damon and Bonnie groaned as they came to, with Damon lying on the couch and Bonnie sitting on a chair.

"I just need some information. I'm not looking to make enemies." Joshua said with his hand raised, placating them.

"Funny way of showing it." Damon groaned.

"You were trapped with Kai, I need to know how you got out." Joshua said.

"My blood and the Ascendant. It let us out." Bonnie said.

"Your blood?" Joshua asked, surprised before it hit him. "You're related to Sheila Bennett?"

Bonnie looked at Joshua in surprise. "You knew my Grams?"

"She was a friend. She helped us imprison Kai." Joshua nodded.

"We know what your son did to your family, we also wanted to know why, considering what he put us through." Bonnie said.

"Before I tell you anything, I need to know, is Kai still there?" Joshua asked as Damon and Bonnie looked at each other before turning to Joshua.

"Last we checked." Bonnie confirmed.

"Does he know how to escape?" Joshua asked.

Damon turned to Bonnie, who considered. "We… don't know for sure."

"He can't escape, do you understand?" Joshua said firmly.

"Why?" Bonnie asked.

"Because if Kai gets out, he'll head straight for Jo, his ability to siphon magic will overwhelm Jo and she will die and our coven will be left to the whims of a madman." Joshua said.

"We've already established that Kai's a nutjob, Bon-Bon." Damon drawled before they saw the pained look in Joshua's eyes.

"Do you have any idea what it feels like to come home and find four of your children dead? Another one impaled, two running for their lives? Do you think that image has ever left my mind?" Joshua snapped as Bonnie looked at him in sympathy. "My son wanted to take over our coven. But in our family, only twins are fitting to be leaders. Kai was born without his magic, he can only draw it from others. When our next twin children were born, Kai snapped. Killed his siblings, was going to kill his twin sister and younger siblings as well."

"Wait, you said that twins are fitting to be leaders. Why would Kai kill his twin sister?" Damon said.

"I said that they are fitting, not that they become two leaders." Joshua said, confusing them. "In our coven's tradition the twins merge after their 22nd birthday."

"Merge? What do you mean, 'merge'?" Bonnie asked, confused.

"Exactly what I mean, they merge their strength. The stronger one absorbs their twin's power and wins." Joshua revealed.

"What happens with the other twin?" Bonnie asked, though she had a guess.

"They die, do they?" Damon realized.

"And what, Kai didn't like the chance that he might die, so you sent him away?" Bonnie asked.

"If he's such a pain in the ass, why not just kill him?" Damon asked and Joshua glared.

"I know he's a monster but he's still my son. Could you live with the fact that you have your family's blood on your hands?" Joshua demanded and Damon was silent, while Bonnie felt sympathies for him.

"I'm sorry." Bonnie said softly and Joshua sighed.

"How did you end up in the prison world with Kai anyway?" Joshua asked.

"We're not sure. But we ended there when the Other Side collapsed." Bonnie said and Joshua sighed.

"I've spent enough time answering your questions. Now I'd like for you to leave." Joshua said.

"Wait, no tea, no goodbye hugs—" Damon said, amused but next thing they knew, Joshua waved his hand as Bonnie and Damon were flying in the air.

Bonnie and Damon grunted as they hit the ground right in front of Stefan, Alaric, Dean and Sam.

"You guys OK?" Dean asked.

"We're fine. Though the guy could work on his manners with house guests." Damon muttered.

"Well, now we know why they sent Kai there in the first place." Bonnie said as she got up. "He was always a psychopath and he wanted to take over their family coven by merging with Jo and killing her."

"Merging?" Alaric asked.

"We'll explain later." Bonnie said, when they stopped to see some men in front of them.

"So he was right, the house is still standing." One of the men said.

"Great, more uninvited guests. Who are you?" Damon asked.

"Well, our king wanted to be sure the place was still here." Another man said.

"Our king?" Alaric said, confused but Dean, Sam and Bonnie were alarmed.

"Christo." Sam muttered as the men winced and revealed pitch black eyes, shocking Damon, Stefan and Alaric.

"What the hell?" Stefan asked.

"Demons." Dean realized.

"Why is Crowley interested in this place?" Bonnie asked.

"Oh, Crowley's been deposed. There's a new change in management and he's not happy about you leaving him behind…" The demon looked at Bonnie with a pointed look. "Bonster."

"Oh, you have to be kidding me." Bonnie groaned as she realized that she had left her blood and the Ascendant behind in the Prison World.

"That's right." The demon smirked.

Bonnie waved her hand, flinging some demons back before the other demons engaged them. Dean and Sam and Alaric were trading blows with the demons, while Stefan and Damon blurred, knocking the demons down before Dean and Sam pulled out the demon-killing knives. Damon snapped the neck of one demon who just twisted the neck back in normal angle as Stefan blocked the punches before slamming the demon down. Alaric was restrained by one demon as two of them were beating him up before Alaric kicked them back and fell down with the demon restraining him.

"Catch!" Dean threw the demon-killing knife to Stefan who stabbed one of the demons as he glowed yellow and screamed before dying.

Sam killed another demon with his demon-killing knife, while Bonnie pulled a demon away from Damon to Sam, who stabbed him.

Alaric struggled with the three demons but next thing they knew, someone got behind the demons and stabbed one with a blade before he touched the foreheads of the other demons as one of them glowed and screamed, his eyes burned out before both of them fell down, with the other demon knocked out and as Dean, Sam and Bonnie saw the man's face, they were shocked.

"Cass?" Sam asked in disbelief.

"Hello, Sam." Cass said.

"What the hell was that and who is this guy?" Stefan asked.

"Demons. And this is our friend." Dean said.

"How did you get out?" Bonnie asked.

"I…" Cass trailed off before he fell to the ground and passed out.

Dean, Sam and Bonnie looked at each other in shock, wondering what the hell was going on.

Given that Bonnie was already out, Damon wouldn't be so blunt to demand the Ascendant but I figure he'd still piss Joshua off but given that they were not going to risk Kai escaping, Joshua wouldn't try to kill Jo but he'd still kick them out of the house because Damon is Damon.

And Cass is back and they are in trouble now.

So, what do you guys think?
