Ice: Yes, I'm still alive and busy. Been caught up in band and football games. As usual, I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh. This is just a hobby and I don't get paid for this. Wished.
One rainy Saturday afternoon, a boy of 15 was running down the sidewalk. He didn't dare to turn around and look back at the man yelling at him. Tears streamed down his bruised cheek. He knew he would have to go back. Back to the countless beatings and screams he dared not think of.
I feel lost today
It's as if I'm not really here
Reality keeps suffocating me and pulling me near
He started to choke for air. He ran into a nearby alley. Gasping and choking on tears, he tried to remember what it was like when his dad worked and would come home cheerful. Not like now, he didn't work and stayed drunk. No one wants to put up with that kind of life. Yet, somehow he managed for six years.
Wish it would go away
Leave me to my thoughts and dreams
I'm fine the way I am only I'm being torn in two
If only he could go back to be with his sister. The thought of going back and seeing his mother wasn't much of an improvement. They never did quite see eye to eye. All he had were his friends. They were great support but he couldn't bear to burden them with his problems. He wished he could go see Yugi. It was too late and he probably wasn't there.
I'm so lost
Wish I could be found
If only someone would find me and save me
By now an hour had passed while he made sure no one was coming for him. If only there was somewhere he could go and have peace. There were a number of his friends he could go see except that none of them were home. It was some festival of sorts and everyone had gone. Everyone except Joey.
I've been lost for so long
I don't know which way is up
Just biding my time until someone can help me
He thought he heard footsteps and started to run again. Just when he turned the corner, he ran into someone. He didn't want to look up and see who it was. He just stood there looking down.
Almost to the point of despair, I wait
Thoughts of giving up go through my mind
Just when I've had it, I see your face
Finally, he looked up. He never expected to see Seto Kaiba standing in the rain. He looked at him, expecting some kind of comment. Nothing came. It was clear to Seto that Joey had beaten by his father. He had heard the rumors, but never thought it was true until he saw him standing there with bruises on his arms and face. Seto took off his jacket and placed it around Joey's shoulders and walked him to Kaiba Mansion where Joey spent the weekend waiting for his dad to calm down.
Ice: Hope you liked it. Kinda sad in a way. I also have another one to put up as soon as I get a storyline to it. Please review.
