The next day, inside Room 29, I yawned once I put my backpack in one of the cubbies, then went to the sink to splash some water in my face.

"Uh, you're alright there, pal?" asked Mowgli, whom I looked at, saying. "Hmm? Oh, I'm fine. Just a little tired from last night, that's all."

"Was it that rough?" assumed Mowgli.

"Sort of." I said. "Couldn't get much sleep because of Patrick crying out..."

"SPIDER!"

It was during the middle of the night when Patrick woke me up with his panicking outside my room, hitting the other Imaginaries with his pillow, shouting. "SPIDER PYSCHO! GET HIM OFF ME! GET HIM OFF ME!"

"Ow, ow, ow, oh, oh, ow, ow, ow, ow!" the Imaginaries would cry out when they each got hit.

"Wow, that must have been some nightmare." said Mowgli.

Before I could talk, Jane cut in, saying. "That's the thing when you have housemates. They tend to drive you crazy until the last straw is bent."

"This isn't the first time that's happened, Jane." I said. "And, yes, SpongeBob and Patrick may have their...flaws, but we're still friends nonetheless."

"You see your cup as half full, I say it's half empty." Jane said, before the school bell sounded. "Oh, and try to stay awake during today's tests...if you can."

As she went back to her desk, I turned to the sink again, splashing more water in my face when Mr. Beckwith walked up to me, saying. "Nathan, Miss Watanabe was on the phone. She said the King wanted to see you."

"Me?" I said. "What was something I did? 'Cause I didn't do anything wrong."

"Calm down, Nathan. You're not in trouble." assured Mr. Beckwith. "But you still have to see the King. What he has to say may be important."

So, I went to the office, where Kira said. "Oh, good. You're here."

"Is it that bad, what Goobot has to say?" I asked.

"He'll tell you." said Kira, who opened her office door, revealing King Goobot in a bed that was placed inside.

"Ah, splendid." he chuckled softly. "Just the one I wish to see."

Upon seeing the condition King Goobot was in, I nervously turned to Kira, who slowly motioned me towards him.

"Your Majesty," I began. "If Captain Amelia told you about yesterday, I just wanted to say..."

"You have done nothing, my boy." King Goobot said with a cough. "But the real reason I called for you...is because I've appointed you...to be my successor to the throne."

Amelia's eyes widen with surprise while hearing this.

"Me...as King?" I said. "But a kid can't rule anything, let alone this school."

"But..." King Goobot said weakly. "Because you saved our lives, I am willing to make an exception."

He took out his crown, holding it out to me.

But instead of taking the crown, I slowly backed away towards the door, breathing heavily.

Kira, King Goobot, Amelia and Mr. Arrow watched in silence as I ran out of the office.

"Mr. Arrow, make the announcement." Amelia said finally.

"Aye, Captain." said Mr. Arrow, who turned on the microphone.

"Attention, Foster City School!" his voice echoed from the speakers. "Immediately following recess, everyone is to be present for an important assembly! I repeat, everyone must be present for today's assembly after recess!"

"How unfortunate." Nigel said upon hearing the announcement.

"Oh, don't worry, Nigel." assured Marianne. "There's still time between now and Christmas."

"Well, at least there's that." agreed Nigel.

As they talked, Debbie hurried out of the ComVee, saying. "I'm going to the mall!"

"Again?" said Marianne. "But you were just there yesterday."

"See you later, then! Ta-ta!" Nigel called out, much to his wife's annoyance.

Meanwhile, Eliza sat by herself at the patio when Darwin came up to her, saying. "Cheer up, Eliza. It's not your fault Spirit got captured."

"Darwin, it is my fault!" said Eliza. "Because I lost Spirit, Rain won't let me come near her or hear what I have to say."

"Perhaps I can help you with that."

At the sound of Toto's voice, Eliza and Darwin turned to see him walk to them from the kitchen.

"You mean, you'll help us get Spirit back?" said Eliza.

"Of course." Toto said back. "I do owe you a debt of gratitude for savin' me life yesterday and I intend of stayin' until I return the favor."

"But what about Rain?" asked Darwin. "If we get any closer to her, she stomple us into the ground."

"Leave that to me." said Toto. "I'll talk some sense into that angry mare faster than you can say..."
