Pokémon Trainer Hero

Chapter 82: Hero Killer Arc, part. 4; The Public Perception. Act 4

"Another Photoshoot?", Gar exclaims incredulously.

"Well, yes! You didn't think there was just one?", Photo asks him back, also sounding incredulous at his question.

The two of them, alongside the Director and a small team of his, were on a large houseboat setting up a photo shoot out on the ocean. Seemingly nothing around them but water for miles around, with a clear sky, and a bright sun. Despite the smaller space, the small team still ran around like cockroaches as they got everything set up to the Director's envisionment and they were almost done, so Gar had only minutes to speak with Photo.

"Honestly….yeah, I did.", Gar groaned in aggravation, making Photo roll her eyes in amusement. He then looks around and asks, "But what's the theme now?"

"Beachside!", She replies excitedly.

Gar cocks his eyebrow and inquires, "Didn't we already do a summer section a few days ago?"

"That was that. This is this!", She brushed him off with something that was meant to assure him but didn't.

Gar heaves out a forced sigh and asks further, "How is this any different from me being in a speedo in a building with a green screen backdrop."

Gar then motions to himself, now unchanged from his Water Type outfit, where he wears absolutely nothing except a white speedo bathing suit with blue stripes on one side.

"This time you're outside. And you'll be able to use your Water Pokemon.", Photo tells him with a raised finger, making a point.

Gar thinks it over for a minute before admitting, "Well I do like that. And you're lucky I like the look of myself in such tight swimwear. I mean.", Then turns around showing his rear, and says with full-blown confidence, and pride, "Just look at how firm they look!"

"Yes yes, they look very nice. Now get into the water and unveil your fish friends!", the Director waves him off before shouting his commands.

Gar does as he says and takes several PokeBalls off a table before throwing them into the air and out towards the water. In seconds, outcome Lapras, Seaking, Kingdra, Sharpedo, Qwilfish, Wailord and Wailmer, Mantine, Milotic, Dewgong, Blastoise, Staryu and Starmie, Lanturn, even a Gorebyss, and Huntail.

The following hours went on much as they did at the building for the first photo shoot. Gar would sometimes take several pictures in several different shots or angles in several different kinds of swimwear or beachside paraphernalia. Then he does the same thing, but this time with Pokemon. Some he'd hold, stand next to, get in the water with…. he'd do a lot of those. Some he'd ride, swim with, float with, or pose with. They'd have to take breaks when Gar's skin started to get pruney, but once he was dry, he'd be right back in the action! Even though it went on for hours, it seemed to go on much quicker than the last time. Much to Gar's relief. After a few side-by-side shots of him diving and emerging from the water with his Pokemon, Gar noticed the grim expression on the Director's face.

So he asked, "What's with the face there, Director."

The Director made a disgusted sound and exclaimed, "It needs more! It's so bland!"

Gar thought it over for a moment before saying, "Well if you need more pizzazz. I think I have something."

He then swam up to his Pokemon Mantine, and after climbing onto its back he swam out with it and commended, "Mantine, use Surf!"

Mantine then created a huge wave underneath them and the manta ray Pokémon began to ride along the incline of water! The wave cruised by the boat of awestruck onlookers as Gar started to use the Pokémon like a surfboard and began to perform several different kinds of surfing moves! Even ones that would normally be impossible for a person.

"It's glorious!", the Director exclaimed with tears in his eyes at the sight. He then turned to his equally awed crew and yelled, "Don't just stand there, start shooting!"

The crew began to rush around and take As many pictures as they could, while Mantine and Gar How the time of their lives riding the wave! After a few minutes of fun surfing, The wave finally died down and the two of them slid back towards the ship where they regretted it with rounds of applause and shearing from both people and Pokémon alike!

"How was that for pizzazz?", Gar hamed it up with a bow.

Director wiped his tears away with a handkerchief and stated with glorious wonderment, "Amazing, marvelous, wondrous, breathtaking! There will be nobody else with pictures like us!"

While they were being praised, one person was not so cheerful about it. It was Milotic, who had half her face above the water, blowing out angry bubbles, and staring daggers at Mantine. In a moment of jealousy, she jumped out of the water and began to use a move.

One of the team members noticed this and asked Gar, "Hey, what's your pretty-looking eel doing?"

"You mean Milotic?", Gar asked them black while looking at the Pokemon, only to see a huge wave already forming! Gar panicked and froze there while shouting, "Milotic, no, stop!

But it was far too late, the wave crashed down and everything was thrown into chaos! The boat was rocked so hard that it was nearly flying to its side, everyone on board almost fell overboard, and equipment was knocked down or washed out! The Pokemon was swept under and the aftershock of the wave continued for several minutes! Once the boat was back on its correct side and no longer shifting like a leaf in a rough stream, everyone began to get their bearings back through the waves lasting mist.

"Is everyone okay?", Photo shouted in panic, getting several sounds of confirmation. She then went to the side of the ship, found Milotic, and yelled, "Bad Pokemon, bad!"

Milotic looked ashamed of herself and sank into the water, especially when the other Pokemon also started to glare at her!

Once everyone was collecting themselves and trying to save or reclaim their gear, someone noticed something and asked, "Hey, where is Garfield?"

"Oh, Arceus! He got swept out by the wave! Buzzt.", Rotom, who was charging inside the boat, came out and screamed in panic.

"We have to find him!", Photo exclaimed in worry as she rushed to the helm.

Director then looked down at the worried and confused Pokemon sitting in the water, and yelled at them, "What are you all floating around there for?! Go out there and find him before he drowns!", with that they finally took the hint, and spread out in search of the lost man.

Further Out At Sea

Bubbles emerged from the water and in a few seconds, Gar shot his head up from the water, gasping for breath! He gasped and coughed while keeping his head above water, and after doing so he complained aloud, "UGH! That was unpleasant."

When he noticed no reply was being given to him, he wiped his eyes clean, and asked, "Where the Heliolisk am I?"

He looked around but only saw the ocean, and no boat or Pokemon in sight. So he called out in a desperate plea, "Hello! Photo! Director! Anyone!?", But nothing came back apart from the echo of his voice.

"How far was I washed out? UGH! Stupid Milotic! Always trying to be a show-off.", Gar groaned angrily to himself knowing exactly why it happened the way it did. He tried to look out as far as he could but only saw water. So in a dejected tone, he stressed, "Dang! I can't see anything! I wish I was wearing my P.B.T. I could be out of here in a second."

So Gar conceded to his predicament and laid on his back, floating on the surface and saying to himself, "Ah well. May as well float and wait for rescue.", just before he closed his eyes to relax and conserve his energy he shot them open and said to himself in hope, "I hope there are no Sharpedo."

So he lay on the water, floating and waiting for something to change. Someone or someone to come for him. But an hour came by, and when he thought things wouldn't change from here on, his head gently bumped into something. He opened his eyes in the shadow and saw a very familiar face looking down at him.

"Lapras!", Gar exclaimed in excitement and joy at seeing the transport Pokemon! To which it replied with its happy noise.

Gar swam up to the side of its shell and clambered on while expressing his gratitude, "Boy am I glad to see you! You sure found me fast!", once he was secured to her back and gave her many thankful hugs and kisses, he pointed out to the sea and commanded, "Okay Lapras, back to the boat!"

But Lapras didn't move towards the boat, or in any direction. She just floated there, almost as if she was in a trance. Gar realized what she was doing and guessed, "You forgot where it was when you went to look for me.", Lapras made a dejected sound and dropped her head. But Agr assured her and said, "It's okay. You found me and I'm safe, so you did accomplish that. Let's just try and find another ship or some dry land.", Lapras made another sound, this one of confirmation and began to swim out in a random direction.

Due to Lapras being a natural nautical master, she would be able to pinpoint land or any large ship-sized disturbance in the water with ease. All she needed was a hit, and she got just that after another hour of aimless travel. Her head perked up and she looked in one specific direction.

"Did you find something?", Gar asks as she replies with a noise. Gar smiles at this news and says, "Nice, then let's go!"

After a few minutes of swimming toward the boat, they finally arrived and he called out, "Ahoy there!"

The person sitting in the crow's nest looked out in an installed spyglass and called out, "WOAH! Man and Loch Ness monster off the port bow!"

Lapras sawed to the side of the boat where several people all converged to meet him, and he asked with a salute, "Permission to come aboard?"

One of the crew members allowed him on board and Gar jumped off Lapras and finally onto some solid ground where he was given a towel and some water. He was brought to the front of the ship to rest in the shade and he heard a voice call out to him, "Gar!"

Gar looked to the front and saw another of his classmates and called back happily, "Tsuyu!"

"What are you doing out here? Kero.", the frog girl asked him, frazzled by his sudden appearance.

"I could ask you the same.", Gar jokingly shot back.

"I went with Selki for my internship. Kero.", she informed him as the two of them sat down together. "By the way, why are you in a speedo?", she pointed to his 'exotic' swimwear.

Gar initially looked down at himself, unsure of what she meant, until he remembered and saw himself, explaining, "Oh, this! I was doing a photo shoot when one of my Pokemon got jealous, used Surf, and knocked me clear out into nowhere. But Lapras here found me.", he motioned to the Pokemon who tooted a happy tune.

Tsuyu looked shocked by this nonchalant revelation and asked further, "Surf? That huge attack that makes that wave? And you survived it?! Kero."

Tsuyu still remembered back at the Sports Festival where the move Surf was used a few different times. The attack is so big and so powerful it takes equal power or luck to get rid of it! It honestly scared her, and still does. Even though she loves the water, it's one thing she'd never want to try.

Gar looked amused by her erection and told her, "The humans of my world are way tougher than you'd imagine. I once took a Hyper Beam straight to the chest and walked it off after KOing for a few minutes."

Then a young blue-haired woman in a sailor uniform with big ear fins came up to them and asked the girl, "Tsuyu, you know him?"

"Sure. He's my friend Garfield.", Tsuyu informed.

"Garfield!? The Hero Trainer.", the woman asked, equal parts surprised and excited.

Gar ignored the 'name' he was given again, and confirmed, "That's me. And you are?"

The woman looked flustered and told him quickly, "Oh sorry, my name is Sirius."

"Nice meeting you. So where's this Selki person?", Gar asked while looking around the ship, but only seeing them and a few other buff sailors that didn't seem like the captain pro hero of this ship.

"That would be me.", a voice answered as a large object burst from the water and landed on the ship only a few feet from them.

The person in question was a very large and very built man that looked like a spotted seal with red eye markings and a beard. He wore a dark blue wetsuit with gray striped parts at the arms and legs, yellow goggles, and retractable flippers.

"Im-.", the seal man began to say until gar cut him off.

"A POKEMON!", Gar yelled like a madman, ripping off his towel and taking out a Pokeball.

Tsuyu quickly jumped in, grabbing his arm, trying desperately to hold him back as she shouted, "No Gar Don't! STOP! Selki isn't a Pokemon!"

Gar instantly stopped himself and relaxed as Tsuyu let go, looking at the hero he apologized, "Oh…. sorry….force of habit."

Though Selkie didn't look too worried about what just happened and instead asked him, "Wait, where'd you get that?", he motions to the Pokeball in his hand.

Gar looks down at the device and with equal surprise to this he replies in an unsure tone, "No idea."

"What the heck was he trying to do!?", Sirius exclaimed.

"Capture him. Kero.", Tsuyu answered in her usual blunt manner.

"Sorry, but you do look like a big Sealeo.", Gar apologized again, rubbing the back of his head.

Selkie thought about this for a moment and then asked, "Are they cute?"

Gar was taken aback by this question and half shrugged while answering, "I guess? Depends on your preference."

Sirius lets out an aggravated noise as she states, "Please don't tell me you're gonna go on a tangent about your 'cuteness' again."

"What are you talking about, Sirius? It goes without saying! Of course, I'm cute.", Selkie tells her while closing his eyes, smiling, and squishing his cheeks.

"You!?", she exclaims while looking over several parts of him.

Gar notices one part she stares at in particular and asks in disgust, "Why did you look at his crotch?"

Sirius goes red in the face right away as she exclaims in denial, "Wha-? No, I didn't!"

"Yes, you did.", Gar retorts naturally and calmly.

"No, I didn't!", Sirius denies again, far more sternly.

"I saw you do it. Do you wanna bang him?", he asks her bluntly.

Sirius goes even redder in the face as she squeaks out, "EH!?"

"Normally this is the part where I say 'I won't judge you'. But…yeaaaaaah, that's a lie. I'm judging you.", he tells her while looking off to the side in judgmental disappointment.

"Sirius?", Selkie asks her, looking quite shocked.

"IT'S-IT'S-IT'S LIES! ALL LIES! HE'S MAKING IT UP!", Sirius yells in feverish denial, waving her arms around.

"Your reaction is not helping your case.", Gar states back with a sweat drop.

"SHUT UP!", she screams while grabbing her hair.

'How cute.', Tsuyu remarks in her head.

Before this can go on further, Gar heard Lapras make a strange call. He alongside everyone else turns their attention to see the boat house Gar was doing his photoshoot on, sailing just a few miles from them.

Gar puts on a relieved yet excited expression as he says, "Oh! There's my ride. Well, thanks for letting me stay a while. And I'll see you later Tsuyu."

With that, he hops on the Pokemon's back and the two of them set to swim toward their group.

"Bye Gar.", Tsuyu waves him off.

"Be safe on the open waters.", Selkie calls out.

Sirius says nothing in return and continues to hide her red face away with her hands.

Just before the two of them swim out too far, Gar turns Lapras around and swims alongside the boat. From there he tells Selkie, "Oh, by the way. Lapras found a hidden cave underwater on our way here. It's in that cove on the small island over there. It might get revealed with low tide, but she also senses something huge inside. Just thought I'd let you know."

Selkie looks surprised by this at first. He looks over to the direction he is pointing and makes a motion to his cartographer. From there he gives a thankful and underlying nod to Gar before he heads off to his ship, and he rides atop Lapras back to his ship.
