Thank you to everybody who read or reviewed the last conversation. You are all lovely even though I know a lot of you are mad at me right now. I love May. She's one of my favorite characters. I wouldn't kill her off lightly. There is a reason for this and it's not just stuffing someone in the fridge.

This has been the plan for several years. I will admit that I was starting to waiver and second guess my plan until Spider-Man: No Way Home and Multiverse of Madness came out. They showed me there must be consequences to messing with the multiverse. Losing Agent May is a consequence of messing with the timeline.

Conversation 61: After

Davis squared: How soon can you be here?

Red spider: We're packing up equipment now. 15 minutes at most. What happened?

Davis squared: We have the ring pop. Agent Leopold and Consultant Fitz Simmons came back with it.

Red spider: And May wasn't with them?

Davis squared: She was not and you know why. I don't even know how to tell Piper about this. May was her SO.

Red spider: She raised a lot of agents. She helped me acclimate when I got out of the Red Room.

Davis squared: She's the closest your girlfriend has to an actual mom. At least one that won't try to suck the life out of her. She's going to be devastated when we tell her.

Red spider: It was supposed to be me.

Davis squared: Just because it happened in the other timeline doesn't mean it was going to happen in this one. Things are already too different. Maybe the changes we made led us to this point. You're not supposed to change time. Maybe this is the price we pay for thinking we could.

Red spider: I was going to lead this mission and May changed things. She purposely made sure I was assigned elsewhere. It was deliberate.

Davis squared: You can't believe that.

Red spider: Ana can you please access the baby bird prediction database and tell me if there are any images of me jumping off a cliff to get this particular ring pop?

Avenger Ana: I'm sorry I cannot provide that information. You are not authorized.

Red spider: Who authorized that block?

Avenger Ana: Agent May

Davis squared: Blocks go away once the agent who makes them dies. It was a protocol instituted after the Hydra mess.

Avenger Ana: However, per my database she is not dead yet because her paperwork notifying me of her death has not been filed.

Davis squared: I can't do it and I'm not going to ask Agent Leopold to do it. He wanted to but he's a mess right now. Consultant Fitzsimmons won't even let any of us come near him.

Red spider: Weren't they arguing earlier?

Davis squared: Family is very strange during times of grief.

Red spider: This is definitely a time of grief. I'll take care of the notifications. I owe her that much.

Davis squared: Thank you

Red spider: Vision suggests that we wait until after we jump closer to Earth so we can do it in real time once we get there.

Davis squared: This feels like a real-time conversation. And honestly, I don't think any of us are ready to make that notification yet.

Red spider: That is very true. This is going to destroy Phil.

Davis squared: I know.

Chief monkey lover: I'm still here.

Chief monkey lover: I should probably wait until you can get these messages in real time again, but I need to talk to somebody and I don't want to get into a fight with Deke again. I can't deal with anybody else. I'll start crying again.

Chief monkey lover: May jumped. Not only that but she had icers with her. I think she knew what was supposed to happen. It's why she maneuvered things so Steve wouldn't be here. There is no way she could have iced him before he would have jumped off the cliff.

Chief monkey lover: He would have done it. I was gonna do it. I would have if she didn't ice me. It should have been me.

Chief monkey lover: I'm so sorry for saying that but everything since I've been here has been a gift, extra time. I should have died in the explosion.

Chief monkey lover: Instead, I got two more years with you and I loved every minute of it but it always felt like something with an expiration date. And when Red Skull, yes that Red Skull, explained what needed to happen, I realized why I was there. What I needed to do to save everybody.

Chief monkey lover: But before I could, May was firing her weapon at me and Deke. I think he would have tried jumping too. It wouldn't have worked for him, but I think he would have tried.

Chief monkey lover: This means he is the complete opposite of who I thought he was which makes everything worse.

Chief monkey lover: Now, I have to fill out all the paperwork and tell Coulson that his girlfriend is dead. The last time we lost May he would have done anything to get her back. Although at least it went better than what happened after Rosalyn. I think he went that dark because it wasn't someone he actually cared about. Just somebody who was collateral damage because he didn't take Ward out earlier.

Chief monkey lover: I just remembered May wasn't kidnapped here because I made better life choices this time around. But were they better choices? Coulson's alive but now May's dead. It's like the universe says I can only have one. Per the notes from the other timeline, he didn't live much longer than this. He didn't even make it to his 54th birthday.

Chief monkey lover: I feel so guilty right now. I get to come back to you and have our wedding and adopt our children. May's not coming back. She won't get to be their good grandmother.

Chief monkey lover: Well the one on your side. I feel so lost.

Chief monkey lover: I feel like this is all my fault. I'm the one who led us here.

"It isn't," Natasha said as she opened the door of Leo's bunk. Apparently, she's friends with consultant Fitzsimmons in the other timeline because he let her through unlike everyone else. That was good to know.

"How are you here?" Leo asked looking up from a Stark pad. "Also, it's very rude to listen to somebody when they're dictating text messages to their husband."

"Wanda just ported us over," Natasha explained. "You need us now that you have the soul stone. I'm sure you have listened to many of the text messages that Daisy has dictated to me."

"Not something like this."

"No we haven't had to deal with something like this for a while." The last death that felt like this was Coulson in New York. And she doubts that this one will be as temporary.

"So you know?" Leo asked. "Before you heard me texting my husband."

"Davis told me," Natasha explained. "Although I also got to read the text messages from your husband and found out that I was supposed to be the one to leap off the cliff."

"Just because something happens in one timeline…"Leo started but Natasha cut him off with a raised hand.

"I just tried to search the Robin drawing database. Any pictures that make the description of me leaping off a cliff to get the soul stone are under a block put in place by May."

"The blocks should be gone."

"Not until we put in the paperwork," Natasha told him.

"I'm not ready to do that yet." It would make it too real.

"I know. I'll take care of it." Fitz looked grateful at her words. "But it can wait until we jump again."

"I'm sure other things are coming. What do we do now?" He looked completely lost.

"We keep the stone safe and we keep moving until we can get it to the other timeline," Natasha answered.

"She would want that. Especially because all of this was premeditated." As he spoke Leo's eyes went wide and he quickly got up from his bunk.

"Where are you going?" Natasha asked following behind him.

"To check her bunk," Leo answered. "If this really was premeditated then there will be something there." Fitz quickly moved to her bunk and put in his own override code courtesy of being the technical head of the UN Avengers. That was mostly because May said no. In hindsight Natasha wonders if there was a darker reason for that choice. Leo quickly lifted up the pillow and found several letters lying underneath.

"There's one addressed to you." He passes it to Natasha. She quickly read the first paragraph out loud.

"If you're reading this then I did what I had to do. Not just to restore everybody we lost in the other timeline but to keep all of you safe. Per Robin's drawings, you were originally the one who was to retrieve the stone. I made sure you couldn't. Daisy's heart broke when she lost Lincoln. I didn't want her to lose Love again. So I sacrificed myself in your place." Natasha stopped reading out loud at that point. Tears streaking down her face.

"She will though. It's going to destroy her." Natasha is not looking forward to that conversation with her girlfriend.

"I know. Did the letter say anything else?" At Leo's question, she quickly scanned the rest of the letter. Some of it she wanted to keep to herself. The other part she was willing to share.

"Not to blame yourself. That you deserve a chance to live your life. She also said that she loved all her bus kids." Natasha told him.

"She definitely knew she was going to die?"

"Yes," Natasha answered simply as she sat down on the bunk. Leo set down beside her. "She did it to protect us because that's who she is."
