Here's a quick story from Wolfsong. I really like this song, but I don't think it went very big. It's called 'This Small Divide' by Jason Sellers. I changed two of the words to make it in the present tense. It sounded better that way for this story. Enjoy!

This Small Divide Wolfsong

It was a quiet, enjoyable evening. Most of the X-men were either asleep or in the living room watching TV. As Remy sat on the couch with Rogue resting on his shoulder he thought about how much he really did care for her, and how much he wished he could show her.

I can't reach out and touch you, I can't touch you at all. We're both feeling lonely even though we're side by side. Cause it's a long way across this small divide.

As the night rolled on, Remy thought about everything they had been through. Together. Alone. With and without the X-men. There had been so many things in their lives that had kept them apart. Her powers. His past. The questions of do they have a future together? And at times, can they even be together?

It's amazing the distance between your heart and mine. I can't seem to cross over no matter how hard I try. Cause it's a long way across this small divide.

Everything came rushing back. All of the battles and struggles with just being who they are. They had faced death on numerous occasions and had come out laughing. Surely, he thought, they could find a way around this.

It's not an ocean, not a canyon, but it's just enough to make us cry.

We are so close and I don't know how to reach the other side. Of this small divide.

The movie ended and everyone began moving to their rooms, some already half asleep. Rogue and Remy headed to their room upstairs. While she dressed for bed, he lay back in bed staring at a picture of them together.

Oh it should be so easy. I can see love from here. You'd think we could make it.

It's only a heartache wide. But it's a long way across this small divide.

"Time for bed, sug," Rogue said coming out of the bath room. She crossed the room to turn out the lights then slid in next to him. Remy pulled the covers over them and settled in with a sigh. "You alright, Remy?" Rogue asked sweetly.

"Everything's gonna be jus' fine, chere. Go t'sleep."

It's not an ocean, not a canyon, but it's just enough to make us cry

we are so close, and I don't know how to reach the other side of this small divide

Of this small divide.
